Cat Noir watched as Ladybug and Flairmidable were talking together. He was perplexed about the new Dog hero, as she just lent the same Miraculous to a girl just a couple of days ago. He didn't think Miss Hound was a memorable addition to the team but he also couldn't remember her double crossing Ladybug in any way to justify getting her replaced from the team so suddenly. Especially by this random dude, who seemed to try his luck with his lady.

He then noticed how flustered Ladybug was getting around this new hero. "So it's him !" Cat Noir murmured under his breath. "I knew she'd recruit the guy she's in love with in her team eventually, I bet she was just waiting for this moment to finally get rid of him completely by having her crush fight alongside him. Too bad that I came prepared for this day!" He finally took out a croissant, which he Cataclysmed with his finger. However the croissant didn't disintegrate or even change composition at all. "Plagg told me that you can use Cataclysm to destroy the composition of an object but not the object itself so you can trick your opponents into thinking the object it's still intact. This method works on food as well and it makes what looks a completely delicious croissant become literally poison."

"Now it's time to get my payback" - murmured Cat Noir again. He went to Ladybug and Flairmidable and of course Ladybug tried to excitedly introduce him to the new hero, but he was having none of it. "I can't wait to wipe that smirk off your face".

He started eating a croissant in front of both of them and Ladybug scolded him about this not being the right time for it, but Cat Noir argued that he was too hungry to wait any longer. Flairmidable's stomach suddenly started growling much to his annoyance and Cat Noir's satisfaction "And it looks like I'm not the only one who is".

"Of course that loser had to start chewing that damn thing just as I'm quite literally starving over here". The moment Felix saw Adrien was due to leave Paris today he skipped all of his meals so he could come over to Paris to swap places with Adrien before he would leave. He had no other choice, this was his once in a lifetime opportunity to rob his uncle of the jewelery that was holding his life and he already got sidetracked by the fake Miraculous, but at least Ladybug unknowingly gave him the opportunity to outsmart his uncle once and for all. He was willing to deal with all of these annoying people and his body's needs in order to achieve his goal. He wasn't gonna let a hungry stomach get in the way of his mission !

"Hey, dude!", Cat Noir suddenly startled him from his thoughts. "It looks like I'm not the only who needs a bite. Lucky for you I've got a second croissant and I'm willing to give it to you."

Flairmidable: Sorry to tell you, but I don't need anything from you. If you can't see, we've got a villain to deal with, we don't have time to lose to eat sweet croissants ! Flairmidable's stomach started growling again after he said that "Crap!".

Cat Noir: Your stomach is clearly disagreeing with you about that, my cat ears don't lie. And look, we need all the energy possible to defeat this villain and Ladybug's gonna take her sweet time to gather everyone around for her final plan, so you have time enough time to devour this sweet croissant before we get into position.

Flairmidable: Ughh, fine, but I'm only doing this to shut you up.

Cat Noir: And your stomach as well I bet. Cat Noir winked.

Flairmidable started quickly eating the croissant. He didn't want to admit it, but it was delicious.

Cat Noir: I can tell you from what bakery you can find more such delicious croissants if you're a fan.

Flairmidable: Let's stop wasting time and concentrate on the villain at hand. "After all, he was after a much bigger prize later on."

Ladybug gathered and gave everyone from the team her multipled Lucky Charm sunnyglasses so they could go in and defeat Strikeback. As Flairmidable was about to take his pair, his stomach suddenly started growling intensely, making him drop his glasses and clutch his abdomen in pain. Everyone started being worried about Flairmidable instantly except for Cat Noir.

Ladybug: Are you alright Flairmidable ? What happened to you ?

Cat Noir: I think he's still hungry for some more of my delicious croissants. Said Cat Noir smirking.

Flairmidable's face turned green after hearing Cat Noir say that.

Flairmidable: Croissants ... (another intense stomach growling) let me go, LET ME GO !

He suddenly run over to the edge of the rooftop so he could start puking on the streets. And his puking was uncontrollable.

Ladybug: Oh My God Adrien ! Please detransform urgently, I think your Miraculous may have gotten broken and it's affecting your body !

Cat Noir murmured "Adrien ?!? I mean me ? How could that be possible ? Unless ... Oh no !"

Flairmidable detransformed and Cat Noir saw Felix in his earlier disguise of him. He stopped puking, but his face was still green and his stomach was still growling horribly while he was clutching it.

Felix: Help ... me ...

Cat Noir: Felix ?!? How are you here ?!? Why ?!

Ladybug: Wait, Felix ?!? Ladybug suddenly looked at the ill looking "Adrien".

Felix: You ... How could you ... ugh ... you couldn't ... couldn't have known it was me unless you ... you're Adrien !

Everyone suddenly gasped and Ladybug looked at Cat Noir with horror.

Ladybug: Cat Noir, is it true what he's saying ? You're really -

Cat Noir: Look M'Lady, I can explain !

Felix: You did it purposefully, suddenly shouted a green paled Felix. That croissant, you did this to me ! I will destroy you !

Felix got up and tried to charge up towards Cat Noir, but he was stopped in his tracks by more horrible growls coming from his infected stomach.

Felix: Oh no, not that again - suddenly he was back throwing up and this time he was doing it on the rooftop in front of everyone.

Ladybug: Someone needs to take him to receive medical help RIGHT NOW ! Carapace, take him to the nearest hospital that isn't in the radius of the sentimonsters.

Carapace took the almost unconcious Felix and started jumping towards the nearest undestroyed hospital "Please don't throw up on me dude".

Cat Noir: M'Lady look - but Ladybug stopped him in his tracks while she was examining by the Dog Miraculous.

Ladybug: You know Cat Noir, or should I say Adrien, Master Fu warned me that a Miraculous holder can only get sick while trasnformed if their Miraculous is damaged or their body got altered by another Miraculous' power. And the Dog Miraculous looks to be completely intact. So was what Flairmidable said true, did you really do something to him ?

Cat Noir: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to -

Ladybug: What did you ?!?

Cat Noir: I cataclysmed the composition of a croissant and then gave it him.

Ladybug: Why the hell you did that ? You could've killed him !

Cat Noir: I didn't want to kill him, just to make him a bit sick and make him unable to complete this mission, I didn't thought he'd get sick that badly !

Ladybug: But why ? Why would you poison your own cousin ?

Cat Noir: I didn't know he was MY cousin, I would've have done it if I knew. And truth be told, I didn't want to lose you !

Ladybug: What ?

Cat Noir: I thought this was the guy you were in love with with the way you were acting around him and I honestly couldn't stand the thought of you two working together, you replacing me with him, I needed to do something, I couldn't lose you, you know I'm still in love with you.

Ladybug looked at him in horror for a couple of moments afterwards, but finally resigned.

Ladybug: I should've done this earlier. She subtly gave a signal to someone behind her back.

Cat Noir: Do wh- Suddenly Cat Noir was paralyzed from behind his back by Vesperia. Ladybug took the Miraculous from him unceremounisly and he detransformed back to Adrien.

Ladybug: I'm sorry Adrien, but you've just proven yourself unworthy of the Miraculous.

Submitted prompt: An Immortal Black Cat

Not sure if this counts as a true salt prompt but here it goes(up to author interpretation to prevent Mary-sueing of the OC)(Can drop stuff as wanted)

A previous Black Cat wielder ends up moving to Paris. Thanks to magical related shenanigans(whether or not it was Miraculous related or not is up to the writer), she is immortal, with the appearance of an young teen around the age of the main cast. She is understandably alarmed when the Bubbler incident occurs, and more so when she starts piecing together that Adrien is Chat Noir.

The problem she sees is that she used to be a lot like Chat Noir when she was first starting as a wielder. She harassed her partner to the point that he snapped on her, and their team bond never recovered. She has regretted it since. Later on, she was a Ladybug as well(not particularly skilled but she was decent enough to get the job done.) During this mess, she had to deal with the exact same treatment from her partner, which made her feel even worse about her behavior with her first partner, especially when she had to kill her partner in self defense when she refused his advances one too many times.

After a few more akuma attacks, she quickly becomes alarmed about Chat when she realizes that he’s way too similar to her past self for her to ever be comfortable with, and her mind is worried as this boy could easily end up like her. It gets even worse when she starts realizing that Marinette is Ladybug, and her behavior is sliding from crushing dangerously deep into stalker territory, reminding her of herself and her past Black cat partner way too much.

Only one issue, she doesn’t want to alert anyone she’s present. Only a few councilors know she exists, and she’d like to keep the Council and Order of Guardians from learning of her existence. (She’s been so determined to avoid the Order less they decide to use her for something, she hasn’t been keeping track of them. As a result, she has NO idea that the Order has been wiped out by Feast. Her belief was that they were merely becoming more isolated as the world got more globalized, global threats that needed the Miraculous were dropping and the Council was growing better equpped to deal with those threats. Even if she did have suspicions, she wasn’t about to go to Tibet to check in case they were waiting.)

Well, she decides that she needs to step in, and hopefully steer these two back onto the right path before it gets out of hand. Only issue is doing so without alerting the Council and (Currently destroyed but doesn’t know it or Wang Fu). She also can’t meet with Marinette less she is transformed about Miraculous Magic. The reason is Tikki is too loyal to the Guardians, and she’d likely inform the Guardian about her. She has no such problems with Plagg, as he could care less about telling Fu.

Not sure where else to go from here…we go into Fix it somehow and possible Adrien Pepper if you really want to fix him, same with Marinette if you’re hoping for some Marinette salt and pepper. I’ll add more in the comments if I can figure out how specifically this OC fixes it.

Clarification: I forgot to mention this in the prompt. Like in Fairy Tail, there’s a magic council responsible for protecting the world from magical threats and dealing with magic incidents. They’re incognito though as a public organization called the Organization of Magical Occurrences and Affairs, supposedly just as a group to help people cope with any losses or injuries caused by supernatural incidents or for people to report supernatural stuff to someone who won’t laugh them out of the room.

They’re like this as they’ve been persecuted a lot by secular and religious authorities during their history. They also worked with the Guardians before they vanished, but couldn’t ever figure out why they vanished.

Adrien decides to adopt a feral cat, and this goes about as well as you'd expect. Character development ensues, with Adrien learning more about what it really means to take on the responsibility of owning a pet, and starts him on the path to learning how to treat other people better too.

It started with Adrien Agreste adopting a random cat off the street. This leads to Adrien getting in contact with a vet, to make sure the cat's in good health. And this leads to Adrien learning about words like "trans" and "nonbinary" and "otherkin", and the idea that you don't have to be a boy just because your parents decided you were one when you were born. You don't even have to be human. Ne doesn't have to be the "perfect son". Ne doesn't even have to be a son at all. Ne can just be...rixelf. Adrien Agreste is no more, now riv name is Pandora. And, overjoyed with riv new identity, Pandora decides that ne's going to tell everyone who will listen, starting with the cleaning staff. And then ne learns that riv father's cruelty extends beyond the confines of Agreste mansion, and blankets the city. Hawkmoth isn't the only villain in Paris, Gabriel Agreste and Mayor Bourgeois are in league, exploiting the labor of the working class in order to fill their own pockets, then taking what little they do pay the workers right back in the form of rent, bills, and late fees. Pandora is horrified to learn where riv allowance has been coming from riv entire life, and vows that ne's going to stop it. Ne needs to tell Ladybug what ne's just learned! But no sooner does Pandora meet up with Ladybug to discuss the threat than another bombshell is dropped on top of rix, and then riv whole world is turned upside down, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Warnings: Mentions of dead birds/mice in the first chapter, unsafe animal care/animal neglect that is corrected. Some villains and other antagonists/characters who are bad people die offscreen, including both Gabriel. Emilie dies offscreen, but the lead up to it is onscreen. There are also discussions of emotional child abuse, but it's not shown in the present.

The main character figures out ne's nonbinary and otherkin, and starts using neopronouns 100% of the time starting in chapter 3. Multiple other trans characters are in the story as well, though none of them take center stage, since the story follows the main character with an extremely limited perspective.

This is an alternate universe from the show, with changes mostly in the background, not actually affecting this story. The main difference is that in this universe, there's no attempted romance between the heroes, it's 100% platonic. Because misogyny is bad, and this means that Adrien at least starts out with some morals as opposed to none.

Gabriel Akumatizes a surgeon who lost a young child on the operating table. Asclepius is born, the great healer. For hours he walks the halls of the city's hospitals, curing everything and anything. Cancer, Alzheimer's, broken bones, all manner of ailments. Then, raising the child he'd lost. Raising others gone before their time. Until Hawkmoth issues the ultimatum. "Bring me Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculouses, or I will take your powers. Succeed, and you may keep them forever." A relatively short fight follows, for Asclepius is a healer, not a fighter. As Ladybug prepares to cast the cure, she's surrounded and accosted by tearful people. "Don't do it!" "I had cancer!" "I was dying!" "My son was dead, and he brought him back! You'll kill my son!" To their horror, she casts it anyway. As the ladybugs clear, everyone is still fine. "It's the Miracle Cure," she says, "not the Miracle Reset. It's intended to correct misuse of Miraculous magic by people with ill will or corrupted hearts. Somehow, Ladybug and Chat Noir find out why Hawkmoth wants their Miraculous (though not necessarily what he intends to wish for). However, when they ask their kwami (and/or Master Fu) about it, the response is one of confusion.

As it turns out, the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous do not have any sort of wish-granting properties at all.

Now they must figure out where Hawkmoth got the idea from.

Lila's mother is aroace. She adopted Lila, she loves her very much despite Lila's massive flaws as a person, and she's in a queerplatonic relationship with another aroace woman.

Adrien doesn't get how that works, doesn't think people can really be aroace, and mislabels Lila's mom a lesbian (An allo lesbian, specifically, but Adrien doesn't know that term). Lila tries to correct him.

When he makes the mistake of saying to Lila that romance is the most important thing in existence and all that he lives for, and her mom sounds like a monster if she doesn't love anyone at all, he angers the most charming person in school, who can absolutely make his life a living hell.

So she does.

Cue the Adrien Agreste saltblog, where Lila shares gossip, pics, and audio of him being a jerk, an idiot in the way only rich people who have no experience in the real world can pull off, and an enabler for Chloe's bullying.

Gabriel tries to get her to stop but Lila has exactly one person she loves, and anyone who's against her mom, she will destroy with everything she has.

She's so focused on this that she's immune to being Akumatized because she's just not in the damn mood, Hawkmoth.

Adrien's reputation is trash now, Hawkmoth is down an ally, Marinette has quit associating with Adrien because unlike him, she's someone who supports all queer people, and Chat Noir is on thin ice with Ladybug when she vents about this obnoxious aphobe in her class and Chat Noir doesn't understand why what Adrien said is wrong.

Things get worse for Adrien when Lila hears Chat Noir being an aphobic asshole and decides a Chat Noir saltblog could be fun, too.

She's getting a lot more attention now, more than she ever got prior, and it's largely positive, made up of an online audience that supports her and loves that she stood up for her mom. She's not reformed, but she's no longer an active threat to Marinette, who is 100% supportive of Lila's mom and her right to not need romance to be whole or be a good parent.

I'm not saying this leads to Chat Noir being akumtatized (though it's not off the table as an option) but it definitely leads to him having to stop sexually harassing Ladybug if he doesn't want Lila to put it up on her blog along with (some false, some true) witness testimonies about his gross actions.

He simply can't outdo her in charm and ability to manipulate a narrative. She could have the mainstream media turn on him if she wanted to.

Lila is a monster, but her mom isn't, and anyone who says otherwise is going to wish to God they'd never said it in front of her.

If her fiancé— If her ex-fiancé decided he’d be much happier in a town at the end of the world with Kagami Tsurugi, Marinette was fine with that. She’d play the ‘bad guy’ in their Hallmark-movie happily ever after, no problem. If only she wasn’t stuck in a snowstorm with Kagami’s ex…

While she fiddled around on her phone and pulled up a map accounting for the current snowstorms and traffic jams—putting their normally 9 hour route at 12 hours—Cat Guy manned the sound system. When he seemingly finished, the ambient sound of falling snow sounded from the speakers.

Marinette raised an eyebrow. “Is this what you usually listen to?”

“I thought it’d fit our road trip.” He grinned at her from behind his scarf. Her eyebrow ran higher. “Okay, so, I… Don’t really have any playlists. I made all of them to listen to with my girlfriend, and…”

“That’s fine. Or does she have terrible taste?”

If he muttered, ‘you certainly wouldn’t think so’ under his nose, Marinette couldn’t be sure. “It’s mostly jazz and Kitty Section, and I’m not much into them lately, so—”

In a non-Akuma related incident, Marinette breaks her right hand. Ladybug contacts Chat Noir, she's hurt her hand, and is worried she won't be able to perform her duties as ladybug until it heals. Chat offers a solution, they'll kwami swap. Yes, she'll still be less effective with that Black Cat with one hand down, but surely a full function Mr. Bug and a hampered Lady Noire is better than the other way around. So they swap Miraculouses. Oddly, when she detransforms later, Plagg's ring doesn't look like it did previous times they swapped. It's silver and a bit chunkier. The next day at school, Alya makes a noise like a stream whistle. Marinette is confused, until Alya spells it out... She's clearly wearing Adrien's ring. On her ring finger. On her left hand...

The battle against Shadowmoth had been long and hard.

But, at the end, good triumphed over evil.

Gabriel Agreste was arrested with his accomplices Nathalie Sancoeur, Chloé Bourgeois, and Lila Rossi. The latter was why Ladybug and Chat Noir found themselves in the police station with Gina Rossi, an Italian diplomat, and Alya. (Ladybug wasn’t sure how the latter got in here (based on her face, neither did she) but she was willing to let Alya get a look.)

“Based on her records, this seems…” Roger hissed through his teeth as he flipped through the file. “Not a surprise.” he finally settled on.

Gina looked ready to faint. “This isn’t new behavior?”

Roger looked up from the file with a raised brow. “Ma’am, did you not look at the record of the girl you were adopting?” Ladybug opened her mouth, only barely managing to get ahold of herself to clap her hands over Chat and Alya’s mouths before the questions could come out. She had no idea Lila had even been adopted. Poor Mrs. Rossi looked ready to faint already. “According to her file, starting at a young age, Lila has shown a history of lying.”

“That can’t- I didn’t-” Gina snatched the file and started scanning it, her face slowly getting more and more pale. “...this can’t…” Ladybug released her partner and her best friend’s mouths so they could step closer and peek over. Alya whistled.

Lila’s file was long.

The first recorded incident was when Lila was five. She accused a daycare worker of giving her food she was allergic to. The new manager had fired the poor girl on the spot, not even giving her a chance to explain until Lila’s bio mom, one Ms. Camila Noceda, had come to pick the twins up from daycare.

“Lila doesn’t have allergies.”

The daycare worker, as it turned out, had said no to Lila taking a doll from Luz. She had been restated with much higher pay soon after. The Nocedas had given her money for the lost wages.

The second had been aimed at a family friend of the Nocedas. Six-year-old Lila, with a new black eye, had accused the boy of hitting her at a party. The entire family had been outraged until they learned the boy wasn’t there…by him returning from his part time job. As it turned out, Lila had just tripped.

The pattern continued. Lila would lie, only to have her lie revealed. As time continued, the lies grew bigger and closer together. Soon, Lila was lying all the time. In the notes that Gina flipped through, Ladybug made a note.

Most of the lies were revealed by Lila’s twin, Luz, or the girl’s bio parents. Distance began to appear. The last incident happened…

Her blood ran cold.

There had been an accident on a family boating trip. Luz Noceda had fallen overboard while apparently not wearing her life vest. Lila had never been solidly accused, but it was noted that she was the last one to see Luz alive. The little girl’s body had never been found.

Now, Marinette knew Lila was bad. Who got a kick out of lying to people? But she was starting to learn, more and more, how evil she was.

Luz had been like her. A weird girl who still spoke the truth and disrupted Lila’s lies. Unlike her, she had been listened to. And for that, Lila had possibly killed her.

(For a second, she felt smug. Adrien could take the high road and shove it.)

“We actually called Camila Noceda in to ask her questions,” Roger said, wreaking the silence. “She’s on her way in now.”

“Does she need someone to pick her up?” Chat Noir asked.

Roger shook his head. “You misunderstand. She’s walking into the building now.”

The door opened. “Right this way, madame,” an officer said in English. “Camila Noceda is here, sir.”

Camila Noceda was a woman with dark bags under her eyes and a soft frown. She wore a yellow sweater that seemed to have been hastily pulled over a medical uniform. She was a pretty older woman with grey starting to soften the dark curls in her hair. Ladybug couldn’t see any resemblance to Lila from just one look.

“What did she do?”

Roger blinked. “What?”

Exhaustion lined the poor woman’s voice, and this whole experience, based on the last incident, must’ve been making her flashback. “I’m sorry to have to drag you in like this. We just have some questions about Lila Rossi’s lying habit.”

A warm smile bloomed to life. “Thank you, sweetheart,” Camila reached up and patted her cheek. Maternal warmth seemed to seep off her now. Ladybug couldn’t help but lean into the warm touch, suddenly reminded of her own mother. “I’m happy to answer any questions, but what did Lila do?”

Oh boy. Ladybug glanced around. Roger, Chat, and Alya didn’t meet her eyes. It seemed like-

“It was my fault.” Gina stood up straight, shoulders clenched. “I’m Gina Rossi, Lila’s m…” She paused and shook her head. “Lila’s adoptive mother. I think we spoke on the phone when I adopted her.”

Gina nodded. “Neither could I,” she whispered. Camila cocked her head. “I didn’t look at her file closely. I didn’t read about all the incidents, the lying, everything. I let her manipulate me.” Gina reached up and rubbed her forehead. “She helped a terrorist attack Paris because I enabled her.”

Camila’s eyes went wide. “She did what?!”

“She also skipped over a year of school!” Gina’s voice choked into a sob. “She’s getting me in trouble with the embassy because she made up stories about traveling everywhere, she’s getting into legal trouble, and she almost ruined one poor girl’s life!”

Camila clearly flinched. “She did?”

“Yes!” Alya stepped forward. “My best friend, Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Ladybug blinked. “I…I also helped enable her. Without knowing! But I still helped her.” She presented the phone to Camila, who looked ready to faint. “I’m really sorry, Mrs. Noceda.”

The door opened, revealing a girl. She was pretty, with golden hairclips pushing back hair to reveal golden eyes.

Do you think people would start to form superstitions around akumas?

Maybe people start using epithets in conversation—butterflies, sprites, fairies—in fear that speaking the true name of the creature will cause one to appear. It's not called akumatization, it's called "catching", or "getting bitten", almost like a sickness or infection.

People start to form habits that they think will decrease their chances of "catching", waiting until odd hours to go outside or avoiding districts where "catching" is most common.

The rumor spreads that akumas infect through skin? People start covering themselves head to toe in whatever they can find, or simply staying home on hotter days.

Or maybe the "catching" needs a sentimental object? People stop accessorizing or carrying things of value, and what they have to have with them is kept safe in zipped-up pockets or beneath jackets.

In the windowsills of shops and doorways of houses, ceramic ladybugs or bug-themed kitsch start to crop up like an infection all their own. People like to think that maybe the presence of a ladybug is enough to scare an akuma off. They start sharing how to make DIY dreamcatchers or windchimes to hang by every window in your house. Good luck charms will be made and distributed in their own secret little market, small polka-dotted rosary beads traded as both gifts and a sign of compassion.
