Slowly, Zen was beginning to be sure that you were hiding something and that there was more he had to know. And at some point, you couldn’t hide it either. ,,Do you not like your body? Do you not want to show it?’’ he asked you, both of you seated on the couch. You became stiff. Your mouth was dry as you didn’t know how to answer that question or tell him that dark secret you were carrying around with you. After all, Zen was the kind of person who loved his body and cared about it the most. Would he understand a person who hurt their body instead of worshiping it? You took a deep breath and slowly pulled up your sleeves and pants to show him the remaining scars. ,,I do self-harm, mostly on the walls. I Rub against it until it bruises and scratches. I bump against it to get hurt, I…I harm my own body. I inflict pain on myself. And most of the time, I don’t know why. I don’t know what triggers it. One day, because I hate my body and am scared, the other day because someone is mean to me and I need to feel the burning pain, and on other days, I am desperate because of the scars and want them to heal. But Hyun, I can’t show people this part of me,’’ you explained. It was really hard not to sob, and hiccup in front of him while you tried to tell him your feelings, what you were doing to your body, or what feelings were inside of you. Zen stayed silent, mustered himself, and you already thought the worst, but he didn’t. Zen didn’t judge you for your actions, instead, he hugged you, took your body in his, stroked you, and made sure to lightly touch every scar you had on your wonderful body. ,,My princess Mc, I’m so sorry that I didn’t notice that earlier. I’m so sorry that I wasn’t able to help you, that I wasn’t by your side…I…I can somehow understand what you mean and what you feel, but on the other hand I also know that I can’t,’’ he whispered, his fingers slowly touching your cheek to take care of the single tear which was leaving your wonderful eyes. ,,It will be a long process, but we need to take care of those scars, prevent new ones and get better, I think… I don’t believe that we can do that alone…I think, someone who is a specialist would help you better and Mc, I really want you to become better,’’ he said, making you cry for real. Both of you hugged each other and stayed like that for a while before you and Zen took care of everything. You talked to your doctor while Zen searched for a good therapist, read about self-harm, and made sure to call someone to make every wall in your house smooth, preventing any new self-harming. And you knew, together with Zen, this fight would be to your advantage.
