I can’t figure out what the wires are for, except design. Love the live plants around the perimeter. This home really brings the outside in. 

The black ceiling looks so much better than a white one would, b/c the home gets a lot of light, and the floors are light.

Just love how it’s surrounded by plants. 

Look at the tub. Makes it feel like bathing in a tropical rain forest,.

The sink blends in against the stone wall, but has a little bling.

Can't believe half the year's flown by already, but I am still writing tutorials, a big personal goal for this year!

This tutorial is focused on miniature room dividers... specifically of two varieties (there are so many... I could have written a book honestly): the solid paneled type (which I painted), and the kind of see-through woven string type. They're very different vibes, but I love them both :)

I also show steps on creating your own miniature hinges, which is how this all started because I was not happy with the existing mini hinges on the market (the metal they're made from is always a little too thick :/).

Hilton Carter is a plant therapist. His home in Baltimore, Maryland even has a plant growing out of the floor!

The first thing you see when you walk into the foyer is this big, beautiful snake plant. Hilton says it sets the tone for the rest of the house.

There are plants in every corner. I really like the chair on wheels. That’s so different.

Hilton likes to create mood boards and then go out to find the pieces that suit his mood. This wavy sideboard is beautiful (and of course it has a plant beside it).

He thinks about the theme of his home when shopping for decor. 

For Hilton, the living room embodies the true feeling of a family room.

In the dining room, he used the “less is more,” idea.

"The kitchen is the heart of the home," says Hilton.

Behold: The coffee garage.

Of course, the sunroom is his favorite space.

"It’s just so full of life! he says. "Sometimes I can hear it calling out to me to come and relax within it. I’ve created the space with that in mind. I think it’s working."

He wanted the sunroom to blur the line between indoor and outdoor — feel connected to the outside, but also protected.

He intentionally chose see-through chairs that wouldn't block the natural sunlight.

The "rug" in the primary bedroom is actually a king-sized blanket.

Hilton’s advice: Fill your home with pieces you love, not things you’re just holding on to just because.
