The story behind "Memoca the Seagull"

Since I've been hiding behind a face claim and ended up making this little seagull an OC… I thought I could talk a little bit about her.

Memoca is based on an existing character from the game "Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea" by funamusea/ mogeko who is a seagull familiar of the main character from the game. 

Be careful though when researching on them and their games as some of them do have disturbing and triggering themes. 

Since I thought that the name was cute [the name “Memoca” is also backwards for “kamome” which means seagull] and seagulls are one of my favourite animals I decided to use her as a face claim. Now, I don't want to roleplay as Memoca from WATGBS and I don't intend on shipping this VERY young girl with any twst character, I wanted to come up with something a little different. Yes, there is a timeskip version of Memoca which looks like where she could be of age but I still don't want to roleplay or interact as this character from the game.

I decided to stick with the name and the seagull theme and used picrew to roughly give her a shape and a look for now and I am considering commissioning someone [I don't know who yet] to draw my girl for me.

From time to time I have been calling myself "seagull princess" jokingly to friends because of how many seagulls there are where I live and how much I love them.

I've also been sending anons as a seagull character to a Touken Ranbu interactions blog a year or two ago because I love seagulls and it became kind of a joke on their blog to suddenly have a screeching seagull in their inbox.

About Memoca the Seagull:

This is getting long so I will put this under a cut.

A seagull that uses magic to gain a human form to get around on land. As a human she has very pale grey hair in a himecut that is past shoulder-blade length [think of a little below the bra clasp] with yellow highlights/ streaks. Her eyes are golden-brown and since the tips of her wings are black, Memoca wears black nailpolish to simulate that.

While being of age she won’t tell anyone her exact age.

Memoca isn’t associated to any dorm of NRC.

The reason she can stay on NRC grounds is that she is a secretary working mostly in NRC’s archives.

Since she mainly works in the archives barely anyone knows of her existence or sees her.

She has an office where she does secretary work for Crowley and before work starts she perches on Crowley’s platform to prepare a hot drink for the headmaster.

Yes, Memoca flies to NRC in her seagull form because she enjoys flying too much to let go of it. She flies home at night unless it is [thunder-]storming or if there is too much work to do like the period new students enroll, she stays in her office and sleeps on the couch.

Her little house is located by a pier but she sometimes hangs out on the cliffs overlooking the beach. 

Memoca tries to appear calm and collected and very neat which causes her to seem very strict and stiff. She is a very softhearted and kind individual who has a knack for following orders and pleasing others, which makes her a great secretary. 

Her attire is sailor lolita inspired but as soon as she is home she will wear comfy clothes usually with sleeves that are a tad too long.

It is no secret that she is very fond of the Octavinelle dorms for obvious reasons, especially the dorm leader, and she is very aware of her feelings but she will not bring them up unless explicitly asked about them. 

Memoca’s magic is mostly water and wind based.

Her unique magic would be “Seagull’s Wail” where she is able to take away either your hearing or sight for a short amount of time. She could also take away both senses or any sense if she wishes but taking more than one at a time causes higher buildups of blot. Same does taking away the senses for too long. Taking the hearing or sight is often the most effective and useful.

Though an actual seagull’s wail might not sound pleasant most of the time Memoca is actually a decent singer and she enjoys music. Everything she does at home is accompanied by her singing or some music and when she is certain to be alone in the archives she tends to sing to herself quietly.

◆Ivlis He’s kinda dumb and a bit clumsy, but at his core he’s very serious and kind. His classmate Satanick is always following him around, he got pregnant, ended up giving birth, but it worked out in the end. Because he has Siralos as a firm foundation for his heart, he’s very mentally stable. “The bento that Siralos-sama made is so tasty...”

◆Igls・Unth Ivlis’s big sister. She’s very caring to her younger brother. Big boobs. An exceptional honors student and member of the kendo club.  She can’t stand cockroaches. If anything threatens her little brother she will draw out two swords and mince them on the spot. She is popular with girls. “Ivliiiiis, always eat balanced meals, okay?”

◆Siralos mama (papa) Ivlis and Igls’s mom (dad). A very active member of the Mother’s (father) Ballet group. Also working as a Sun idol, “Siralos-tan.” He is not an monster-overprotective parent, but a godly-overprotective parent. “Tonight we’re having beef stew, you’re thrilled, right?”

◆Satanick Ivlis’s classmate. Originally just frequently doing stalky stuff, eventually he was able to become Ivlis’s boyfriend (almost by force though). He’s the leader of some club, and is called “Maou/Devil lord” by its members. “B-B-Buri-chan’s recorder...... haaah haahh”

◆Licorice The crystallization of Ivlis and Satanick’s love. Because he wants to go to the same school as his mom, when school time comes he grows big. “Mother, there’s a grain of rice stuck to your cheek.” “Mama...”

◆Fumus Satanick’s older brother. They live in a cheap apartment together not far from school. He is the leader of a club separate from Satanick’s. He uses the club members (especially Taffy) as toys. “Oi Taffy, lick my shoe. Right now.”

◆Taffy Everyone’s sandbag. He’s the type to let you ＊＊＊＊ him if you beg. If you don’t wanna beg, you could also just punch him and he’d let you. “Uuu.... please go easy on me.... it hurts... auuuhh...”

◆Adauchi Created by Ivlis’s flames along with Poemi. Because he’s in the middle of his rebellious phase, he’s living in the dorms. Somehow or other he really likes his father. “....Dad is such a dumbass”

Poemi Adauchi’s little sister. She followed her brother so she’s also in the dorms. “I’m with big bro!”

◆Emalf He’s both Adauchi’s closest friend and childhood friend. Living the dorm life. Room right next to Adauchi’s. After stalking Yosafire, he got his picture exposed in the school newspaper and suffered extreme embarrassment. “Please, just not my sunglasses! Stop!”

◆Kcalb and Etihw A super lovey dovey couple (already engaged to be married) “I’m his wife♪”  “......” 

◆Wodahs Student Council President. Kcalb’s little brother.

◆Grora An A-cup. Her underwear is white. “Oi school president!!!”

◆Wadanohara Samekichi’s childhood friend She adores Samekichi

◆Samekichi Wadanohara’s childhood friend He adores Wadanohara

◆that white thing Samekichi’s older twin brother. Although Samekichi makes all the blood drain from his face and rise to his face too, somehow or other he’s always caring about his younger brother.

◆Meikai papa Wadanohara’s papa. He’s good at cooking and the piano.

◆Old Samekichi and Syake’s papa. A salaryman. Meikai’s underling.

◆Tatsumiya Ms. office-lady-Miya. Old’s coworker since their early days.

◆Herika Head of the disciplinary committee. She’ll stab any rulebreakers with a drill. 

◆Pulmo Assistant to the head of the Disciplinary Committee. Floatyyy~ 

◆Met-chan Head of the Broadcast Committee. She can always be found plastering herself to the Newspaper Committee.

◆Yonaka Just your average schoolgirl. Occasionally becomes the God of Prosciutto. Library Committee.

◆Deviant Mogeko Yonaka’s lover. He looks like a baby.

◆Shinya He died a few years back in the middle of having sex. Sometimes he comes out as a ghost.

You receive a phone call. It’s a sales Mogeko trying to sell you chili peppers for five prosciutto. You hang up the phone.

You receive another phone call. It’s a sales Mogeko trying to sell hay fever medicine. You don’t need it, and you swear it was the same person who call from before (probably to troll you), so you hang up the phone.

The phone rings again. This time they’re trying to sell you something indecent.

The phone rings again, and they’re offering you a special deal on fluffy parasites? Growing concerned, you cautiously hang up the phone without saying anything.

It rings again. You stare at the phone. It continues to ring and ring and ring, making you thoroughly uneasy. Unable to take anymore, you pick up the phone.

“What do you want from me?” You demand.

“If you love Moge-ko,” The voice is different this time, but it only disturbs you more, “then you’ll buy ten cans of her fresh meat soup!”

“And... If I don’t?”

“Then Moge-ko is going to track you down and kill you.” This time, it wasn’t you who hung up the phone.
