I didn’t realize that this 1896 Victorian was brick until I read the description, so it’s been painted. I hear such bad things about painted brick- it can’t breath so the paint chips off and has to be repainted every few years. This beauty is in Goshen, New York, has 3 bds., 2.5 bas., and is listed for $725K.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish it wasn’t empty, but it still looks good. Love the blue light in the newel lamp.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also thought that these walls were painted, but they’re wallpapered with moiré wood patterned fabric. Beautiful marble fireplace, too.
Tumblr media
Very pretty powder room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least when they renovated the kitchen, they sprung for high-end reproduction appliances in a good color.
Tumblr media
This must be the dining room b/c it matches the kitchen.
Tumblr media
This is a lovely room. I’m wondering if it’s the main bd.
Tumblr media
Pretty pink bd.
Tumblr media
Looks like it was a child’s room.

One of the 2 modernized baths.

The stairs continue on to the 3rd level.

Check out the attic.
Tumblr media
Where does this go? It must go to the turret.
Tumblr media
This is a beautiful bath, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how beautifully they did the basement.
Tumblr media
Here’s a real wine cellar. This is the best finished basement in an old house I’ve ever seen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how beautiful the back of the house is- that porch. This home has been impeccably restored.

Gorgeous fountain in a perfect green garden.

Even the carriage house is beautiful.

FASHION CREDITS: LADY GAGA BY ETHAN JAMES GREEN FOR VOGUE US OCTOBER ISSUE
I was highly expecting for Lady Gaga to land a Vogue cover and here we are, covering the October issue of the American Vogue. The photoshoot, which is highly inspired by her role as Harley Quinn in "Joker: Folie à Deux", was lensed by Ethan James Green.
Styling: Alex Harrington, makeup: Sarah Tanno-Stewart, hair: Frederic Aspiras, nails: Kim Truong using Glitterbels, tailors: Hailey Desjardins and Egle Paulauskaite, set design: Marla Weinhoff.
Tumblr media
Photographed during her stay in Paris in July this year, the cover photo showcases Gaga in the blue embroidered trompe-l’œil synthetic hair coat made in collaboration with hairstylist Gary Gill from Balenciaga‘s 53rd Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture collection!
Tumblr media
An iconic silhouette by now, Gaga rocks a pair of her favorite Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2016 Kiki buckled black leather platform boots!
Tumblr media
The mixture of couture, high-end designers and emerging talent is immense in this editorial as Gaga wears the grunge-inspired Hodakova Fall/Winter 2024 argyle double knit sweater in this hauntingly beautiful shot.
Tumblr media
Hyperventilating is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I fell in love the moment John Galliano sent out his girls down the dramatic runway and ever since I was hoping to catch Gaga in one of the designs. Never would‘ve thought she‘d even get a whole custom look!
Gaga poses in custom Maison Margiela Spring/Summer 2024 Artisanal Haute Couture.
White cotton caisetted cape cut with the memory of an ulster coat, worn over a patinaed knitted silk bodysuit matching Gaga’s skin tone underpinned by a corset covered in jersey and a silicone hip prothèse.
A taped reverse swatching hat in white foam and caisetted cotton, patinaed knitted silk stockings and gloves, and custom Christian Louboutin for Margiela white patent leather criss-cross platform pumps with torn stocking overlay.
Tumblr media
One thing you should know about Gaga is that she loves to layer multiple runway pieces to merge a whole new look.
From Dior‘s Resort 2025 collection, a love letter to Scotland, she wore a knitted argyle sweater with cut-outs, a tartan wool maxi dress which she layered underneath a mesh and metallic lace dress, and some argyle socks.
Tumblr media
The Hodakova sweater makes a return, this time accessorized with an antique hand-painted plaque, ruby and diamond in 18kt gold brooch, and a smoky quartz and pearl in 18k gold brooch, both from Tony Duquette!
Tumblr media
A shoe that changed herstory. Vivienne Westwood‘s infamous Fall/Winter 1993 Super Elevated Gillie platform shoes make a return, acquired from Pechuga Vintage. You might remember Gaga wearing a boot version of these for her 2010 Elle spread!
Tumblr media
A firework of excitement ransacked my body when I first found out that Alessandro Michele would depart from Gucci to head over to Valentino as the new creative director.
LG is, to my knowledge, the first celebrity to rock a piece from the Resort 2025 "Avant Les Debuts" (Before the Beginning) collection – a pale yellow chiffon mini dress with high collar, tiered ruffle puff sleeves and floral sequin embroidery all over!
Paired with custom Maison Margiela distressed stockings and custom Christian Louboutin platform heels.
Tumblr media
Gaga is working it in a bi-colored statuesque coat seen on Yohji Yamamoto‘s Fall/Winter 2024 "A Seamless Parable on Cubism" runway.
Rather than canvas and paint, Yamamoto’s medium is fabric and more than ever, it felt like he let his instinctual side take the wheel. Case in point: He said he couldn’t talk about how he’d arrived at these silhouettes. "During fittings, I can change, I can touch", he said with finality.
The look was crowned with a custom Vivienne Bow hat made of voluminous moiré fabric by emerging designer Andrew James!
Tumblr media
One of the "Antwerp Six" designers, Dries Van Noten bid farewell earlier this Summer and decided to leave the fashion scene with a bang by celebrating his legacy at his final Spring/Summer 2025 collection where this epic embroidered cashmere coat is from.
Both her plaque-embellished black beanie...
Tumblr media
...and double-breasted boxy oversized coat with peaked lapel are from The Row's Resort 2025 lookbook!
Tumblr media
Gaga is the first ever person to wear this vintage Givenchy by Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 1999 "Execution of Lady Jane Grey" Haute Couture chinoiserie embroidered silk balloon sleeve coat and bespoke black dress, both sourced from LILY et Cie.
In 1999, McQueen was going through, in his own words, "an emotional turmoil" both professionally and personally. But instead of relieving himself, he ventured into his own despair to understand his inner demons more poignantly. This painful journey led Lee to Paul Delaroche’s tragic but beautiful 1833 painting, "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey".
Like a painter to a blank canvas, McQueen filled an empty room with extravagant offerings: romantic silk ensembles with floral embroidery, 16th-century fur-trimmed tunics, luxurious velvet coats, as well as the designer’s signature leather suits, cowl-neck dresses, and even a heightened-for-couture bouffant piece that paid homage to his plaid.
Dialing in on his inspiration, McQueen presented his clothes not on models but on fiber-glass-headed mannequins that emerged from trap doors in batches, as if the audience were in an art gallery rather than a fashion show.
Tumblr media
It's almost unrecognizable but Gaga is draping this Chanel Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture black silk taffeta opera coat around her torso. This piece, which served as the show's opening number, features a ruffled neck, bejeweled buttons and a voluminous cut.

The large-area synthesis and transfer of multilayer hBN for fabricating 2D electronics
Researchers at Kyushu University, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Osaka University in Japan have recently introduced a new strategy for synthesizing multi-layer hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), a material that could be used to integrate different 2D materials in electronic devices, while preserving their unique properties. Their proposed approach, outlined in a paper published in Nature Electronics, could facilitate the fabrication of new highly performing graphene-based devices.
"The atomically flat 2D insulator hBN is a key material for the integration of 2D materials into electronic devices," Hiroki Ago, one of the researchers who carried out the study, told Tech Xplore. "For example, the highest carrier mobility in monolayer graphene is achieved only when it is sandwiched by multilayer hBN. Superconductivity observed in twisted bilayer graphene also needs multilayer hBN to isolate from environment."
In addition to its value for fabricating graphene-based devices, hBN can also be used to integrate transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) in devices, achieving strong photoluminescence and high carrier mobility. It can also be valuable for conducting studies focusing on moiré physics.

The Paris based firm of Tessier-Sarou offered this unique work from the design house of Madeline Vionnet from the S/S 1923 collection. While her house is primarily remembered for her extensive use of bias cutting, clothes cut on the straight grain of the fabric were also produced. This is one of those works. Made of a pink silk moiré fabric, the design gets all its considerable impact from the highly graphic flame like appliqués that are worked in a very dark pink silk velvet that is edged with gold metallic thread embroidery. This is a much more graphically strong statement from her hand than is typical of what we know of her work through surviving garments and sketches. A client who ordered this dress would have needed considerable presence to carry it off successfully.

La Mode nationale, no. 5, 1 mars 1886, Paris. No. 1.
(1) Blond poplin dress, the plain petticoat cut from top to bottom by a braid of thick otter and heavy blue silk which forms a stripe. The princess tunic caught on the side by pleats, draped in front, raised on the left to the hip and falling straight behind. On the right, flat folds fluff the fabric which is brought back, and waves of blue and otter moiré ribbons staple the draperies. The bodice, striped like the petticoat with braid, is trimmed with two draped straps which form a fichu.
(2) Suit in steel gray Levantine velvet, tinted in monochrome. The plain skirt is embroidered in dark gray velvet teeth. The princess bodice forms a large gown on the left, matching the petticoat, while on the right, cut in Polish, it is gray fault which, lined in velvet, forms a lapel and is placed on the bodice. The sleeves are in Levantine velvet, with fault cuffs.

I’m absolutely delighted to present you with my finished #darkling cape and tunic. All that remains now is the other belt sash (a very beautiful moiré fabric that looks like made of shadows themselves) and maybe a headpiece? Not sure what to use. I’m beyond proud of this creation and I finally learned the basics of tailoring and combined them with my “sewing intuition”. I particularly enjoyed the work with intricate braiding and I like the final results. I still need to figure out the makeup - and also to take out my buds, because now I’m a very modern #grisha enjoying Bluetooth technologies 👀 The Darkling belongs to @lbardugo and her amazing book universe. #grishaverse #darklingcosplay #bookcommunity #bookcosplay #embroidery #braiding #uniform #costumedesign #cosplay https://www.instagram.com/p/CjxgXM2DhOT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Bridal Fabrics and Laces
Bridal Fabrics and Laces:
A Comprehensive Guide
A Symphony of Lace: The Exquisite Details Lace has been an integral part of bridal fashion for centuries, adding an ethereal and romantic touch to wedding gowns. Let's delve into some of the most renowned lace types: Alençon Lace: Renowned for its intricate needlepoint motifs and raised cordonnets, Alençon lace is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Its delicate beauty and exclusivity make it a coveted choice for brides seeking an opulent look. Chantilly Lace: Characterized by graceful floral and swirl patterns outlined with silky threads, Chantilly lace exudes a timeless elegance. Its delicate nature makes it perfect for creating dreamy and romantic bridal ensembles. Venise or Guipure Lace: This lace boasts a bold and substantial appearance with raised motifs that stand alone without a net background. Venise lace offers versatility and can be used to create intricate appliqués or even entire bodices. The Perfect Fabric Foundation The choice of fabric is crucial in determining the overall look and feel of a wedding gown. Here are some popular options: Chiffon: This lightweight and ethereal fabric drapes beautifully, creating a flowing and feminine silhouette. Perfect for overlays or creating a romantic, bohemian vibe. Charmeuse: Known for its luxurious drape and soft luster, charmeuse is a popular choice for creating elegant and sophisticated gowns. China Silk: A lightweight and delicate fabric with a subtle sheen, China silk is often used for linings or creating soft, flowing elements in a gown. Organza: This stiff and transparent fabric is perfect for creating voluminous skirts and adding structure to a gown. Peau de Soie: With a subtle sheen and soft drape, peau de soie offers a luxurious and elegant alternative to traditional satin. Petticoat Net or Crinoline: This stiff netting is essential for creating volume and shape in bridal skirts. Satin: The epitome of bridal elegance, satin offers a luxurious sheen and smooth drape. It's a classic choice for creating timeless wedding gowns. Shantung: With its natural texture and subtle sheen, shantung adds a touch of rustic elegance to bridal designs. Tulle or Illusion: A delicate and ethereal fabric, tulle is perfect for creating veils, skirts, and overlays. Taffeta: Known for its crispness and body, taffeta is ideal for creating structured and voluminous wedding gowns. Velvet: For winter weddings, velvet adds a touch of opulence and warmth. Its rich texture and luxurious feel create a stunning statement. Combining Fabrics and Laces for Perfection The key to creating a truly exceptional wedding gown lies in the harmonious combination of fabrics and laces. Experiment with different textures, patterns, and weights to achieve your desired look. Consider factors such as the wedding season, the bride's personal style, and the overall theme of the wedding when making your selections. By carefully considering the characteristics of each fabric and lace, you can create a wedding gown that is not only beautiful but also reflects your unique personality and style.
