Monserrate Mountain and Bolivar Square - Bogota
Monserrate Mountain and Bolivar Square – Bogota
Monserrate Monastery on Monserrate Mountain and Bolivar Square was all I had in the diary for the day. I had seen it every day I visited the city centre and La Candelaria. No matter where you are in Bogota it is difficult to miss. Me seeing it…more like its ever presence is impossible to ignore. Like an impenetrable barrier of green rising up at the edge of the concrete jungle stopping its…

The company Parques de Sintra, which manages Sintra's natural parks and monuments, won the award for “Best Cultural Destination” at a global level. Nominated for the first time in the World Luxury Travel Awards, this distinction contributes to consolidating Sintra as a cultural destination of reference at an international level, thus recognizing the high quality of the work that the company carries out to preserve and enhance the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, classified World Heritage Site by🏛️UNESCO🏛️in 1995.
In the last decade, the parks and monuments administered by Parques de Sintra − Parque e Palácio Nacional da Pena, National Palaces of Sintra and Queluz, Chalet da Condessa d'Edla, Castelo dos Mouros, Parque e Palácio de Monserrate, Convento dos Capuchos and Portuguese School of Equestrian Art − received around 25 million visits, with the company investing 40 million euros in the built and natural heritage under its care.
Without resorting to the State budget, Parques de Sintra relies on a pioneering management model that is based on the heritage's ability to generate revenue that is then reinvested in its recovery and maintenance. Continuing in the same line of action, in the future, the company plans to invest another approximately 30 million euros in enhancing the parks and monuments it manages.
The nominees for the 133 categories of the World Luxury Travel Awards – grouped into 5 themes: “Air”, “Water”, “Land”, “Destination” and “Lifestyle” – are defined by an independent jury, whose choices are based on feedback of visitors regarding their experience. The evaluation takes into account factors such as service excellence, attention to detail, efficiency, among many others.

disseste que talvez seja uma péssima ideia ir ao palácio da pena nesta altura do campeonato. sabes de outros monumentos ou palácios que sejam bonitos ou interessantes de visitar? my boyfriend is a history-slut and i've taken him to mafra palace last year, so i'm thinking of taking him elsewhere this summer, maybe in late august or early september
