253:365 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, we were given some mooncake to enjoy. Mooncakes are usually round sweets. A thin cake-like shell is filled with sweetened red or white bean paste, or some lotus paste, or even fruits and nuts, and an addition of 1 or 2 salted egg yolk. Mooncakes are eaten during this time because of their round shape and sweet flavor, it symbolize completeness and sweetness in the famiy. I don't know if these square shaped mooncakes will affect that belief tho. Hopefully not. 😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Mid-Autumn Festival Everyone!😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #2022leo365 #Mooncake #ChineseMooncake #MidAutumdFestival #MidAutumnFestival2022 #MooncakeFestival https://www.instagram.com/p/CiVUrHxpbEH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today marks the 1st day of the Mid Autumn 🎑 🍂 Moon 🌙 Festival. This is a day of celebration and legends of old that started in Asia. In China 🇨🇳 a Legend speaks about a Beautiful and Enchanting woman known as Chang'e,  The Moon 🌙 ✨ Goddess.
In Chinese mythology, she is a subject of several legends in China. Referring her as a Beautiful woman who became a Immortal Goddess and wanted to be with her one true love, Houyi The Archer. But for some reason fate kept them separated apart and so with 2 elixirs that would make them Immortal Forever.
Chang'e drank hers but Houyi did not consume his straight away. But let Chang'e keep it with her, as he did not want to gain immortality without his beloved wife.
However, while Houyi went out hunting, his apprentice Fengmeng broke into his house and tried to force Chang'e to give the Elixir to him. She took them instead of giving them to Fengmeng.
Then, Chang'e flew upward past the Heavens, choosing the Moon 🌙 as a residence, as she loved her husband and hoped to live nearby him.
Houyi discovered what had transpired and felt guilty, so he displayed the fruits and cakes that Chang'e had enjoyed 🥮 , and killed himself.
Such a sad story but the Tale of this has inspired many throughout Centuries to Worship the Moon Goddess 🌙 🙏 ✨ on this day to be thankful and honor her Story with her beloved and hoping she will be reunited once again for all eternity.
Happy Mid Autumn Moon 🥮 Festival  to all of Asia 🌏 and wherever you are to celebrate it.

Mid-Autumn Festival 🌕🥮 The festival was a time to enjoy the successful reaping of rice and wheat with food offerings made in honor of the moon. Today, (September 10-11 This year) it is still an occasion for outdoor reunions among friends and relatives to eat mooncakes and watch the Moon, a symbol of harmony and unity. During a year of a solar eclipse, it is typical for governmental offices, banks, and schools to close extra days in order to enjoy the extended celestial celebration an eclipse brings. The festival is celebrated with many cultural or regional customs, among them The term "Mid Autumn" first appeared in the book Rites of Zhou (周礼), written in the Warring States Period (475 – 221 BC). But at that time the term was only related to the time and season; the festival didn't exist at that point. The Mid-Autumn Festival, Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节) in Chinese, is also called the Moon Festival or the Mooncake Festival. It is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year. It is also celebrated by many other Asian countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The Mid-Autumn Festival has a history of more than 3,000 years. It was derived from the custom of Chinese emperors worshipping the moon during the Zhou Dynasty. The Mid-autumn Festival first appeared as a festival during the Song dynasty. Nowadays, it has become a Chinese public holiday and has been China's second-most-important festival. In China, #MidAutumnFestival is a celebration of the rice harvest and many fruits. Ceremonies are held both to give thanks for the harvest and to encourage the harvest-giving light to return again in the coming year. Ancient Chinese emperors worshiped the harvest moon in autumn, as they believed that the practice would bring them a plentiful harvest the following year. It is also a reunion time for families, a little like Thanksgiving. Chinese people celebrate it by gathering for dinners, worshiping the moon, lighting paper lanterns, eating mooncakes, etc. Happy #FullMoonInPisces #MoonCakeFestival to everyone!! #mystique #Spiritique https://www.instagram.com/p/CiVHftEJs5G/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Happy Mid Autumn Festival! Did you know that the Mid-Autumn Festival is also called the Moon Cake festival? In Chinese culture, a full moon symbolizes prosperity and reunion for the whole family.
