i already love your blog but the community post really did it for me, especially the part about annie being a waterbender and just straight up murdering jeff. we have no choice but to stan.

when annie told that story about how jeff was a vampire and he tried to eat her but annie was a werewolf and she tore jeff to shreds in the most viscerally horrifying way possible, that was actually a metaphor about how jeff is a predatory creep who tried to suck the lifeforce from annie but annie is a waterbender and she bent all the blood out of his body and then hacked him to bits with big swords just for good measure :-)

@moonlette I don’t even know how to process that level of ridiculous. but really?? People suck. Case and point: someone on an earlier flight decided the armrest of their chair was a good place to put gum. And now my sister has gum on her jeans.

Update: turns out the gum was on the floor of the plane. Then it got onto my sister's backpack, then on her jeans. Some of it was still on her backpack, and now it's all on her leg. People are so gross. USE A TRASH CAN!

In happier news, a woman on our flight packed 4 different sun hats for her trip. I know that because she was wearing ALL of them. It was fantastic.

I make my own buttermilk with almond milk and vinegar or lemon juice.

I use anise seeds. (I grew up making Americanized springerle cookies, and the flavor works really well with this recipe.) I add anise extract as well.

Sometimes I use pomegranate juice instead of orange zest. Last night I tried True Lemon (crystallized lemon) packets.

I don't think a full 2 cups of flour would hurt anything, but eh, whatevs. And why don't they just say "2 cups minus 2 tablespoons?"

Fun fact: if you make it with wheat flour, you get this funky, deep crack in the middle of the loaf or round or bundt.

Sadly, this doesn't happen with GF flour. Booo.
