Liveblog 2: Still trying to finish episode 1.

Crocosec is a butcher, Tortue sells weapons next to him, and Kanigroo is a florist.

Is this a random observation of details, as is this blog's entire premise? No. But I am going to add this to the post nevertheless.

Solomonk, btw. The kanji here is "金", which means gold/metal in Japanese and Chinese.

Keke's yarn ball addiction that will be referenced in a future episode. Yet, he also knits using them, as shown in a few places in canon, so not all hope is lost. I am not screenshotting all of them.

I love these two so much... You can probably tell by my two 10k word fanfics that have tags like "fluff", "child neglect", "psychological horror", and "Joris should hunt Kerubim for sport (positive)"

You will notice that this is a theme with this series, but Joris grows to have a bit more mature of s view on Kerubim, realizing that his father is a very unreliable narrator, and a flawed person.

While Dofus Livre 1: Julith has some writing issues (Bakara should have been sadder and Khan should be on-screen less often), it wraps this arc neatly, by completely taking Kerubim off that pedestal in Joris's mind.

As well as destroying the notion of pedestals for Joris in general, ruining his life, and making him very disillusioned. But we'll talk about The Horrors when we get there.

There are other horrors to talk about, after all:

Simone is this close to calling the twelvian analogue of CPS. And she should have. I am going to hunt Kerubim Crepin for sport.

The stairs are a tripping hazard and there's a knife just randomly laying there. Very normal parenting.

Then there's the horrifying bookcase that is going to fall someday and kill everyone.

There's a lot to unpack here in general, but I demonstrated 3 ways I think Joris could accidentally kill himself in this household at the ripe age of 7. Especially the with murdershelf.

Btw have I said that he has lived in these conditions for his whole life. I think we don't talk about that enough. I will hunt Kerubim Crepin for sport.

He's literally so mean. This man has bewitched me soul and mind. If he said this to me, I would die on the spot from embarrassment.

The way he's trying not to die of laughter or make fun of this guy is actually insane.

There's not enough words in the english, french, or other languages to describe how shit of a parent Kerubim is btw. why the fuck is there meat there. Then there's the random fish skeleton. Then the random rotten apple and another piece of meat with an AXE in it. And using a monster as a disposal device.

I am going to hunt him for sport, have I mentioned that?

Here's a confirmation that even though it's never mentioned, Incarnam does exist in the TV series Dofus and Wakfu.

I will be real Kerubim's depression nest is actually so sad. Being mentally ill doesn't excuse bad parenting, but yeah. Just... a horrible familial situation all around.

Tuni was born into the Kingdom of Osirian, a city floating above the clouds. Years ago, the Osirians had eliminated the wild and savage beasts that once terrorized the land, being blessed by the gods and given wings. It is said that one day, the gods would descend from the heavens and give the gift of immortality next.

Tuni knows this to be a lie.

The gods have spoken, ordering Tuni to execute every paladin that claims to speak for them, unwilling to let their names be taken in vain any longer. Tuni will not fail them. But while carrying out the duty given, Tuni comes to find the land below is not a savage place, meeting the fae people. They were the “beasts” in the stories, and Tuni realizes they need help.

Bonding together with the fae prince, Tuni vows to keep her promise to the gods, and restore the fae to their rightful place.

❧General Information

I’ve had this idea in my mind for most of 2023, although it’s been changed a lot as to what it would focus on. I started drafting this in January of 2024, when it reached its final idea. It hasn’t really taken any inspiration from any books, although the underground city the fae live in is inspired by Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia. The design of the Osirians themself are similar to Eliatrope from Wakfu and Dofus.

As much as I want to write for N'amor of talokan, my brain is switching from him to a lot of comic!Namor, so I'mma start with comic/ animated Namor before, I work out the kinks for K'uk'ulkan fics. Especially some self/oc inserts and I might even mix the two for some fun AUs.

Namor fantasy isekai idea

Ok here we go fantasy Isekai au, I love OI novels and comics, and this idea has not left me since.

Here we go:

You are now the oldest daughter of the former king of Wakanda, your older Brother T'challa is now king after your father has passed, and you are the middle child between you, T'challa, and Shuri. Your brother wants to try to make peace with the neighboring countries, sadly some of the other leaders don't have the same mind. With an amazing older brother as king and an intelligent younger sister, the people don't see you as much, especially since you don't have any specialties yet. (Magic is definitely on the table for abilities besides don't a lot of OI leads or princesses have magic ;3) 

The kingdom as stated before doesn't care or really think much of you. You would make a great political bride for peace among the realms. After an attack at the world leaders meeting, you lost your father the king, and "Lost" some of your memories aka when you awoke into this world. It is a world based on a fantasy series you used to read, now the princess of Wakanda you get to see the characters in a whole new light. 

Now for our male lead this isekai Namor, I want to mix both Namor of the comics and MCU Namor for this. Making his kingdom is somewhat difficult depending on which way I want to go with the kingdom, I want to keep Talokan and figure out a way to mix both kingdoms into one for the story.

This Namor will be a mixture of both the comics and MCU. As I said, he does have long hair because I won't lie, the ponytail was pretty nice. He is a king well-loved by all except for some in his kingdom, being the half-human/ Talokan mutant he isn't well-liked by those who hate the surface dwellers and bigotry is still a problem in this fantasy world.

Things are a bit tense between both of your countries. Hopefully, you can ease that tension and make peace between them. He is an excellent king, as noted from all his appearances, he puts his kingdom first. He has a commanding presence, he is in charge and everyone can tell. He is absolutely charming to those he is interested in, and if he falls in love he's going to try to go all in.

I won't lie as I am mixing the comic with the MCU Namor, he is a bit on that possessive side and obsessive, he falls in love and he is passionate about it. Is he Arrogant yes but he can hold it in for a while, his pride is one of his many traits, at the same time MCU Namor has this sweet side to him, a kindness, a playfulness, but also a ruthlessness that he always has when it comes to protecting his people. Anyway, look forward to it becoming a fanfic on here after I work out the kinks in it.

Now Mabel as a Ouginak, i choose this race for her cause Ouginak use weapon or fist more instead of magic, plus the young ones are just too hyper and pure, must protect!! (also a Ouginak character name Lilotte from dofus kinda remind me a loooot with Mabel, just too pure i can’t). Their weapon and skill looks like a grappling hook too. Also Ouginak can transform into a somewhat like a feral werewolf, so there's that lol.  you guys can read about them HERE and HERE tho <3. I finished watching Wakfu season 3 today, and man. That was. Short. Short, but pretty good.

I like how they made Adamai so menacing and evil looking, even his behavior was super villain tier yet he still joins the good guys in the end. I really liked him in this season, but I just wish there was more. We never got to see some flashy big fight while he used the Eliantrope dofus. He was so badass, teleporting around like he owns the dimension.

The new villain Oropo was pretty good as well. He didn’t have too much screen time, but he was built up pretty well and all the reveals were great. And the final fight against him was one of the best in my opinion. Such a cool fight, and design. This is a massive spoiler, but thanks to Oropo we know how an adult Yugo would look like. Yeah I’ll just add spoilers to the tags. Of course I don’t think he’s on par with Nox, but he had a relatively good cause. I guess. Well, not really.

The ending was a bit sudden. Like there’s no way it ends there. They end up in the god dimension and poof, season over? Like no fucking way. There has to be more. Season 3 didn’t have a proper ending like previous two seasons. But in the end I did like this season. I like Wakfu. It’s a good fucking show.

Wakfu S3 Theory/Thought: Ad Killing Yugo?

Okay, I actually wanted to flesh this out first, but I really wanna get it out before I forget. Please do remember: I HAVEN’T WATCHED SEASON 3 AND I’M TRYING TO ENTERTAIN MYSELF UNTIL IT’S ON NETFLIX --- AND I DO NOT WANT ANY SPOILERS ON THIS POST. THANK YOU!

Okay, so, the biggest concern I have about season 3 (aside from Eva and Pinpin having ANOTHER KID WTF) -- as previously mentioned in another theory -- is Adamai and how I lack a real understanding of his motives. Now it’s totally possible and very likely that he just went crazy, either from himself or because of maybe Wakfu or a similiar substance, similiar to how Nox went crazy; but that would end my theory pretty quickly.

So, let’s say he does have a logical motivation behind attacking the others: when I try to understand Ad’s currently shown behavior in trailers (I just watched the episode-trailer for ep1-5 incase of spoilers for the these episodes in the trailers for the later episodes) I’m mostly confused.

I’m gonna try to explain my thoughts as best as I can. So, Ad feels betrayed or is mad at the others for “taking Yugo from him” / influencing him in a bad way that made him risk the world’s well-being for just one of them.

So there are really two ways I could go about this:

He’s mad at Yugo

He’s mad at the others / jealous

You may not think there’s a big difference, so let me explain with an example: You have a best Friend A and suddenly, Person B sits down beside them where you were supposed to / wanted to sit. Most people probably would get mad at B, even if A invited them to sit there. They are where you should be, you want them gone. 

Now, the second option would be to be mad because A allowed them to sit there.

Now, I’m not really sure where Ad goes in all of this. Like, he’s clearly shown to take his anger out mostly on Pinpin in the trailers, which makes sense because Yugo chose him in the first place. So he’s mad at them / jealous, perfect! Not really though; because we see Yugo and Ad having that “brothers”-bond-eye-thingy, and if I see it right, it should be Pinpin getting strangled/choked by (probably) Ad (since it looks pretty 1-person-ish). Now it could be possible that Ad didn’t initiate it, but Yugo did, but it’s pretty unlikely, since this seems to be like, the person who shows the other something, initiates it - not the other way around. So, Ad clearly wants to show Yugo what he’s doing to his friend, which would not make a lot of sense, if he was just trying to get them out of the way, so he could have Yugo for himself. It basically drives them further apart (not that not showing him but still doing it wouldn’t but you get it). It could be that Ad is actually mad at Yugo, but he’s well aware that his friends mean much more to him than his own life, so he punishes him with punishing them. But... it’s still very likely he’s at the same time mad at them as well. So it’s probably a mix of both. 

Now, however I try to turn this around, I can’t seem to really get the motivation here. Without the punishing-Yugo part it would make sense in a twisted way to want to get Yugo back this way. Maybe I’m even on the wrong track here and Ad is actually over Yugo and just wants to punish him and the others rather than get him back. 

Yugo meant so much to him, I can’t see him being so brutal about so many things I’ve seen this far. 

So, if his motivation would be to get Yugo back, I want to make the point that the best way to go about this, would be to kill Yugo. So if I didn’t misunderstand the Lore/Universe COMPLETELY (which could be lol), if Yugo is killed he goes back to their dofus (or maybe they both have to be dead for that to happen, but i don’t think that IF Ad would go this far - which he won’t probably - it wouldn’t be a big deal to kill himself too) and if he comes back, he doesn’t have any memory of previous lifes, except if he gets flashbacks caused by the eliacube (I think). Sooo, problem solved. He doesn’t remember the others, he doesn’t remember what Ad did to him, happily ever after (not lol). 

So actually, if Ad snapped out of his crazy killing-spree (or... madness spree what do I know) and realized he couldn’t get back Yugo anyway, this would be a pretty logical (in his twisted mind) thing to do.  So, what I’m trying to say here: Boah this would be messed up, but I’d dig it. like, not it actually HAPPENING bc it would make Yumalia impossible lol and it would be way too devastating, but it being mentioned/hinted/attempted would be pretty cool (twisted, but cool) in my eyes.

Like, Yugo would be like “Yo guys don’t risk your frigging lifes, you know: if I die, I don’t die, so lemme die instead of you, k?” and the others would be like “you wish”, but later Ad would be close to actually doing it and Yugo would realize what this would really mean and he would have a really emotional moment about how he doesn’t want to forget them and it would be stopped by someone of the others. I think it would make more room for Ad’s motivation to be more clearer (as of now) and to make more twisted/sick sense. Like Ad still loving him, but wanting to have him back, so he’s trying to kill him but hurting him still hurts.

So, I know this is unlikely and probably Ad is just crazy and I shouldn’t try to understand him, but I really hope they’ll make this clear in the season. As I said, please no spoilers on this post/in tags/in replies. THANK YOU!

Live-read: Trying to understand the Aux Tresors novels without actually reading the novels in question.

This is the last, and the most borderline-experimental and cringe-flop part of the reading break #1, because in this post, I will be discussing the five novels based on the show.

Nobody has seemingly ever scanned or copied them, and I don't have the ability to buy them. If you're French, or a rich person, perhaps you could get your hands on them and tell me how wrong I am, but until then, let's speculate.

To regurgitate a bit of info from Otakia: just like the Wakfu novels, which apparently also exist, these five novels are kind of like... a bonus episode in a written form, following the structure of the show.

When grabbing quotes from Otakia I will be putting them into a translator and then screenshotting, so that you can quickly read them, and so that I don't have to copy things.

But I won't be copying the descriptions or summaries of the books, just the bits I'd like to elaborate on. You can read them yourself there.

You may notice that, I will be upscaling all the images I bring here from the Otakia articles. The reason for this is that I am a normal and sane person, and need to look at it in a crispier way.

As you may remember, Kerubim already said that he used to be a sheriff in episode 16, West of Astrub.

The writer of this article will literally be like "the book gives you candy, sucks your dick clean and dry, cleans up your home, and then it gives you a hundred dollars, so I didn't like it."

I wish Kerubim would be a fucking loser and a menace more often.

In the Judgement of The Twelve episode, Kerubim and Bashi had already mentioned meething each other many times as young adults, and having stories about it, so it's nice to see this factoid utilized for more than 2 episodes, if only in a book.

Also, yet again, Kerubim literally doing his job and Bashi being fucking insane and hating him for it, despite doing far worse things.

Joris canonically eats burgers and YES reading this article a while back is the reason I put burgers into my Joris fanart.

These books are just treating us with characters in outfits we hadn't seen them in, in the show. It would be... a better world, if these books were episodes instead.

Also, want to yet again remind you that I am upscaling the shit out of these images. Because I'm normal. But at times the results can be wonky.

The World of Twelve has never seen, and will never see again, a couple more toxic than them. Sad!

Unlike the Simone & Joris book, I yet again don't have much to say, but, I'm sure I would, had the books been available to me.

This brings me to a close with the first reading break. After this post, I will resume liveblogging about the show. But I do have ideas of what the next reading break entail, and I think they're rather fun! Like "trying to read Dofus manga without reading Dofus manga" or "reviewing Dofus Aux Tresors merch without buying Dofus Aux Tresors Merch", or, perhaps, "scrying on a crystal ball to read Tot Ankama's thoughts."

...Yeah. Only the last one is a joke.

Never really talked about it this way, a convo made me think: how much are people aware about Wakfu and its fandom? How many people feel lost, confused, out of touch. Some don’t even know what Wakfu is, although it’s mostly what I post here.

So let me explain and tell about the tumblr Wakfu community a little! \o/ Like it’s my own home and I show you, here’s the living room, kitchen here, bathroom here. x’D I’m one of the oldest fandom members that are still active, and my blog receives a decent user flow, so I thought making such a post would be fun and helpful.

A standard introduction: Wakfu, along with Dofus and several other products, is a part of cross-media called Krosmoz, vizualized by the super talented french guys, Ankama. Cross-media is: several animated series, short animations, a film, comics of many different styles, and, of course, games. I’m primarily on the gaming side of the community, though I watched (and rewatched) all the animations. Here you can find and watch/read most of the media for free. Other titles can be easily googled.

What initially drew my attention, is this trailer. It was my “door” into the Krosmoz universe. Ankama’s visual style is just flawless, they had me the moment I saw it. So, if you’re hearing of Wakfu for the first time, give this trailer a shot.

If you’ve been around for a while but feel there’s no fandom or it’s too tiny or scattered, check out the Wakfu tag. It’s still alive, even to my own surprise. When I joined in 2012, there was something like a cozy family that played the mmo, roleplayed and talked about their characters. Those people are mostly gone by now, but they made the best first impression for me. Lately, there was a noticeable activity increase and new user flux, so I thought it’s the right time to make such a post. The tag lives again, yay! \o/

Everyone’s up to their own business, but sometimes you see a few posts tagged as Sacrier Saturday and such on. I saw people being confused and asking what’s that, uh.. It’s just an unspoken tradition started by hell knows who. :D A fun, silly little celebration. There are, to my knowledge: Masqueraider Monday, Toddler Tuesday, Feca Friday, Sacrier Saturday and Sadida Sunday. (psst you can come up with another day idea) They’re unofficial, fan-driven, recurring mini-events. You draw, talk, post any type content about a certain thing on a certain day. Visit the respective tag to see others’ stuff and feel good, that’s just it. <3 

Recently I had a talk about artists, how barely visible they are. This post's initial purpose was to actually give a spotlight to my favorite Wakfu artists, so that they can get the love they deserve, and people can find more cool creators to follow.
