“Memoria polaroid” – un blog alla radio S22E25
“I don’t know what’s going on, again and again” riconoscono i sinceri Holiday Ghosts nella canzone che apre la scaletta di questa sera, e devo ammettere che è un sentimento che condivido ogni giorno di più. Una cosa che possiamo dare per per certa, però, è che ogni settimana qui troverete un’oretta di belle novità indiepop e indierock, magari con l’aggiunta di qualche indispensabile brindisi,…

BY PARK MACDOUGALD
The “movement,” in turn, while it recruits from among students and other self-motivated radicals willing to put their bodies on the line, relies heavily on the funding of progressive donors and nonprofits connected to the upper reaches of the Democratic Party. Take the epicenter of the nationwide protest movement, Columbia University. According to reporting in the New York Post, the Columbia encampment was principally organized by three groups: Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), and Within Our Lifetime (WOL). Let’s take each in turn.
JVP is, in essence, the “Jewish”-branch of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, backed by the usual big-money progressive donors—including some, like the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, that were instrumental in selling Obama’s Iran Deal to the public. JVP and its affiliated political action arm, JVP Action, have received at least $650,000 from various branches of George Soros’ philanthropic empire since 2017, $441,510 from the Kaphan Foundation (founded by early Amazon employee Sheldon Kaphan), $340,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and smaller amounts from progressive donors such as the Quitiplas Foundation, according to reporting from the New York Post and NGO Monitor, a pro-Israel research institute. JVP has also received nearly $1.5 million from various donor-advised funds—which allow wealthy clients to give anonymously through their financial institutions—run through the charitable giving arms of Fidelity Investments, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, Vanguard, and TIAA, according to NGO Monitor’s review of those institutions’ tax documents.
SJP, by contrast, is an outgrowth of the Islamist networks dissolved during the U.S. government’s prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) and related charities for fundraising for Hamas. SJP is a subsidiary of an organization called American Muslims for Palestine (AMP); SJP in fact has no “formal corporate structure of its own but operates as AMP’s campus brand,” according to a lawsuit filed last week against AJP Educational Fund, the parent nonprofit of AMP. Both AMP and SJP were founded by the same man, Hatem Bazian, a Palestinian academic who formerly fundraised for KindHearts, an Islamic charity dissolved in 2012 pursuant to a settlement with the U.S. Treasury, which froze the group’s assets for fundraising for Hamas (KindHearts did not admit wrongdoing in the settlement). And several of AMP’s senior leaders are former fundraisers for HLF and related charities, according to November congressional testimony from former U.S. Treasury official Jonathan Schanzer. An ongoing federal lawsuit by the family of David Boim, an American teenager killed in a Hamas terrorist attack in 1996, goes so far as to allege that AMP is a “disguised continuance” and “legal alter-ego” of the Islamic Association for Palestine, was founded with startup money from current Hamas official Musa Abu Marzook and dissolved alongside HLF. AMP has denied it is a continuation of IAP.
Today, however, National SJP is legally a “fiscal sponsorship” of another nonprofit: a White Plains, New York, 501(c)(3) called the WESPAC Foundation. A fiscal sponsorship is a legal arrangement in which a larger nonprofit “sponsors” a smaller group, essentially lending it the sponsor’s tax-exempt status and providing back-office support in exchange for fees and influence over the sponsorship’s operations. For legal and tax purposes, the sponsor and the sponsorship are the same entity, meaning that the sponsorship is relieved of the requirement to independently disclose its donors or file a Form 990 with the IRS. This makes fiscal sponsorships a “convenient way to mask links between donors and controversial causes,” according to the Capital Research Center. Donors, in other words, can effectively use nonprofits such as WESPAC to obscure their direct connections to controversial causes.
Something of the sort appears to be happening with WESPAC. Run by the market researcher Howard Horowitz, WESPAC reveals very little about its donors, although scattered reporting and public disclosures suggest that the group is used as a pass-through between larger institutions and pro-Palestinian radicals. Since 2006, for instance, WESPAC has received more than half a million in donations from the Elias Foundation, a family foundation run by the private equity investor James Mann and his wife. WESPAC has also received smaller amounts from Grassroots International (an “environmental” group heavily funded by Thousand Currents), the Sparkplug Foundation (a far-left group funded by the Wall Street fortune of Felice and Yoram Gelman), and the Bafrayung Fund, run by Rachel Gelman, an heir to the Levi Strauss fortune and the sister of Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman. (A self-described “abolitionist,” Gelman was featured in a 2020 New York Times feature on “The Rich Kids Who Want to Tear Down Capitalism.”) In 2022, WESPAC also received $97,000 from the Tides Foundation, the grant-making arm of the Tides Nexus.
WESPAC, however, is not merely the fiscal sponsor of the Hamas-linked SJP but also the fiscal sponsor of the third group involved in organizing the Columbia protests, Within Our Lifetime (WOL), formerly known as New York City SJP. Founded by the Palestinian American lawyer Nerdeen Kiswani, a former activist with the Hunter College and CUNY chapters of SJP, WOL has emerged over the past seven months as perhaps the most notorious antisemitic group in the country, and has been banned from Facebook and Instagram for glorifying Hamas. A full list of the group’s provocations would take thousands of words, but it has been the central organizing force in the series of “Flood”-themed protests in New York City since Oct. 7, including multiple bridge and highway blockades, a November riot at Grand Central Station, the vandalism of the New York Public Library, and protests at the Rockefeller Center Christmas-tree lighting. In addition to their confrontational tactics, WOL-led protests tend to have a few other hallmarks. These include eliminationist rhetoric directed at the Jewish state—such as Arabic chants of “strike, strike, Tel Aviv”; the prominent display of Hezbollah flags and other insignia of explicitly Islamist resistance; the presence of masked Arab street muscle; and the antisemitic intimidation of counterprotesters by said masked Arab street muscle.
WOL’s role appears to be that of shock troops, akin to the role played by black block militants on the anarchist side of the ledger. WOL is, however, connected to more seemingly “mainstream” elements of the anti-Israel movement. Abdullah Akl, a prominent WOL leader—indeed, the man leading the “strike Tel Aviv” chants in the video linked above—is also listed as a “field organizer” on the website of MPower Change, the “advocacy project” led by Linda Sarsour. MPower Change, in turn, is a fiscal sponsorship of NEO Philanthropy, another large progressive clearinghouse. NEO Philanthropy and its 501(c)(4) “sister,” NEO Philanthropy Action Fund, have received more than $37 million from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2021 alone, as well as substantial funding from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Ford Foundation, and the Tides Foundation.

Zandia
(I really like the Church of Blood as it would be interesting to see a Trigon-worshipping cult and I like Sebastian Blood (IX) since I saw Joseph Morgan playing him~)
Zandia
Capital: Zandia City
Currency: Zandian Dollar
Religion: None/Freedom of Religion (de jure), Church of Blood (de facto)
Demonym: Zandian
Population: 250,000
Geography: Zandia is a small island located east of Sardinia, southwest of Italy, and northwest of Sicily. It is remote and mountainous, aiding the Church of Blood’s isolation. It also has a rugged coastline, making it difficult for ships to land on the island unnoticed. Due to its fertile soil, there are several farmlands.
Government: Democratic Republic (de jure), Theocratic Monarchy Dictatorship (de facto)
Layout: Zandia’s population is mostly in the capital, Zandia City. However, there are a few in other parts of the island, such as the harbor, farms, and ranches. In the capital, there are several landmarks and a mix of low and mid-rise medieval-style buildings mixed with shops and houses. On the center of the island, there is the Church of Blood’s main headquarters. In the more remote part of Zandia, there is the Blood Mansion, or Brother Blood’s Mansion.
Landmarks:
The Church of Blood’s main headquarters: It is a large castle-like Gothic church made of black stones. It is surrounded by a gate where it is heavily guarded and has cameras around. There are more rooms below the church, such as the large subterranean chamber known as the Pool of Blood.
The Zandia Orphanage: It is a monastery-like complex with the exterior of gray bricks. At first, it looks like a normal orphanage with dormitories and basic furniture. In reality, it is a training program created by many villainous organizations. Villains kidnapped powerful children to be used as weapons and future villains. However, that is left ambiguous since the Church of Blood has ceased contact with them. Since Sebastian Blood IX took over, it now has a playroom, dining area, a library, and a garden. It recently had a functional kitchen and bathrooms. He even hired professional caretakers to ensure the children’s well-being. The children are given normal clothes and even given a basic allowance for any outdoor activities. Mother Mayhem even visited the orphanage since her son took the mantle and provided field trips to the Church of Blood. Until recently, the orphanage got the funding from the villainous organizations before Sebastian switched to his wealthy donors.
The Scarlet Luxury Apartments: It is where criminals live since they have immunity to prevent extradition. However, there are concerns since Brother Blood had done a purge.
The Statue of Sebastian Blood I: It is a statue depicting the first Brother Blood fighting off the Crusaders while wearing the Shawl of Christ.
The Blood Mansion: It is where the Blood/Sangue family lives. Currently, Brother Blood/Sebastian Blood IX and Mother Mayhem XIII/May Bennett live there with a staff. It is far from Zandia City and isolated due to being in between mountains.
The Sangue Market: It is a large, high medieval warehouse-like building where people can buy weapons and magical items like potions, divination tools, amulets, etc. The Church of Blood oversees the market as this is a part of their economy.

Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments coming to Pasco County in 2025
Tumblr media
Pasco Appraiser Gives is proud to announce the approval of two sites for Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments in Pasco County. This landmark project, spearheaded by a dedicated volunteer team in coordination with the Woody Williams Foundation and Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources, aims to provide a place of reflection and remembrance for the families of fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments are substantial, two-sided tributes constructed of black granite. The selected locations at Veterans Memorial Park in Hudson and Wesley Chapel District Park will offer serene, respectful environments where family members and the community can come together to pay tribute. The effort is the culmination of a shared vision by Honorary Board Members Jacques Hakim and Pasco County Property Appraiser Mike Wells, advanced by a volunteer team including Gold Star parent Craig Gross, Brendan Fitterer, Lisa Shippy-Gonzalez, Morgan LaValle, and Cristina Cordon. Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments coming to Veterans Memorial Park and Wesley Chapel District Park “Gold Star Families represent an honor no one wants to experience,” said Jacques Hakim. “They are the immediate family of fallen service members who died while serving in a time of conflict, left to live with the enduring loss. This is our chance to respectfully honor their legacy and sacrifice for generations tocome.” “Both monuments and the surrounding installations will be entirely donor-funded,” said Mike Wells.“Local businesses, organizations, and individuals alike have a unique opportunity to support this legacyproject that will be a poignant tribute within our community.” To make a donation or learn more, please visit https://woodywilliams.org/monuments/pasco-cty-fl.html. Groundbreaking is planned for November 2024 with a ceremonial unveiling on Veterans Day in 2025. Kamala Harris is a strong candidate, but we still need to help her stand tall
Kamala Harris’s life as vice president took a 180-degree turn in 24 hours: She went from stumping for President Joe Biden in Provincetown, an LGBTQ+ culture hub and haven, on Saturday, July 20 to becoming a potential presidential nominee on Sunday, July 21,  when the news broke of Biden leaving the race.  The crowd at the Biden Victory Fund event at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum last Saturday showed their enthusiasm about a possible November win for the Biden-Harris ticket. As the keynote speaker, Harris was wildly welcomed to P-town with placards that read “VP-Town!” The entire Biden team at the event was on message — however, most attendees hoped Biden would exit the race. Related The Democrats are quickly unifying behind Kamala Harris as their presidential choice Democrats are quickly shaking off the paralysis of Biden’s failing campaign and getting excited about his VP’s chances. So when the news hit that Harris was now a potential presidential nominee for the head of the ticket, enthusiasm swelled. Both the Black and Asian American Caucuses immediately endorsed her. Within 30 minutes of her announcement, One Silicon Valley,  a software engineering consulting firm, raised more than $1 million for her candidacy. Dive deeper every day Join our newsletter for thought-provoking commentary that goes beyond the surface of LGBTQ+ issues Subscribe to our Newsletter today Hours later, a national Zoom call from the D.C.-based Black women’s organization #WinWithBlackWomen — a national intergenerational and intersectional sisterhood of black diasporic women who leverage talent, influence, and networks to support Black women — had over 40,000 sistahs in attendance. In three hours, these women raised over $1 million to support Harris, which TV personality Star Jones, the campaign chair, spearheaded.  It’s not easy being one of the first Black women running for president When I heard the news of Harris running for president, I immediately thought about how my deceased Brooklyn Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm would be proud of this moment. Chisholm was the first African American woman to campaign for the presidential nomination in 1972 on the Democratic ticket. A woman of temerity and integrity, her slogan was “Unbought and Unbossed.”  Confronted with racist and sexist opposition, Chisholm lost the nomination. In 2024, similar concerns arise for Harris, too.  When news broke that Kamala was in the race for the White House, Black Twitter was abuzz with exuberance and trepidation.” Much of Black Twitter is on board with Kamala as a candidate, but unsure if America feels the same way, the Black media outlet The Root reported.  “Okay, so now it’s Kamala. Every white person who wanted him to drop out needs to figure out how to defend a Black woman in person and online for the first time in their lives. That’s the job now. I’d like to see it, but I never have,” comedian and podcaster Akilah Hughes wrote on Twitter.  Okay so now it’s Kamala. I think—AGAIN—every white person who wanted him to drop out needs to figure out how to defend a Black woman in person and online for the first time in their lives. That’s the job now. I’d like to see it, but I never have. https://t.co/CMukwoDb2X— Akilah Hughes (@AkilahObviously) July 21, 2024 Prominent Democratic donor John Morgan of Florida emphatically stated he would not fundraise for Harris. “She would not be my first choice,” Morgan said in The Hill. “The donors holding the 90 million can release those funds in the morning. It’s all yours. You can keep my million. And good luck,” he continued. Striking the right balance with white Americans is difficult — for both Republican and Democrat politicians — in this polarized era, especially for a woman of color in power who identifies as black. The “angry black woman” trope hovers over all sisters of African descent. Harris is attacked for her laugh. She runs the risk of being perceived as too loud, too forceful, not knowing her… http://dlvr.it/TB2XRB

Non profit organization
Social media is a great way to share ideas and grow your audience. Having a large social media presence is vital when growing a nonprofit organization as it helps the organization gain donors and establish a following. How an organization chooses to advertise has the utmost importance. One organization that has done an outstanding job at advertising and building an empire is St Jude's cancer center. St Jude's advertises themself on their website (About Us - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) )  as a pediatric treatment and research facility located in Memphis Tennessee. Their mission is to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. As of last year, St Jude's raised 2 billion dollars for their cause. St Jude's was originally created in 1962 by Danny Thomas. The tremendous thing about this organization is that over the past decades they have adapted to the different forms of advertising and continued to build. As of present day, St Jude's has a prominent social media presence as they are on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. St Jude's has a large following on each of these platforms. Facebook being the largest with 2.3 million followers, following that TikTok has 677 thousand followers, Instagram has half a million followers, twitter has 400,000 followers, and YouTube has 100,000 subscribers. Despite their large following on social media platforms such as TikTok, St Jude's gets very little interaction on their daily posts. This could be improved by asking larger creators on the app to share the posts or maybe even interact with them. On all of these platforms this organization is posting daily positive, happy, feel-good content. St Jude's has the backing of many influencal advocates. Celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Anniston, Oliva Holt, Sofia Vergara, Michael strahan, and Morgan Wallen have been featured on St Jude's social media platforms. This support of these popular people creates attention around the company, which leads to a larger following, therefore more donations. The amplification rate of St Judes posts within the past month on Tiktok (their second largest platform) has been very low. Within the month of February, the St Judes account has averaged 7291 views per post, which is shockingly low based on their 677,000 TikTok followers, additonally in the month of February they averaged 7 shares per post. This is something their advertising team should work on, considering how large of a following they have on the platform these numbers should be much higher. How i would improve their amplification rate would be by following the current trends on the app to get more intreaction on the posts. However St Judes has managed to create a huge following , and is has not struggled in any capacity to keep their organization successfull within the past 6 decades, depsite their social media presence on certain apps being sub par.

"This tells us all we need to know about No Labels’ claim to want to offer “more choices” on the ballot.
#WhoFundsNoLabels
Two candidates filed "Statements of Interest" to run for office in the Arizona primary under the No Labels banner. No Labels wasn’t onboard and sought to deny the run - the organization says it’s not interested in holding primary elections and only wants to nominate candidates for federal office. So democratic of them. 🙄
The real reason — candidate Richard Grayson, running for Corporation Commissioner could force No Labels to disclose its dark money donors.
Tumblr media
Bloomberg and Joe Lieberman are behind No Labels. How dare they. No wonder Bloomberg constantly runs repeat articles quoting Djimon of JP Morgan, on the economy heading for collapse.

The Ledge #571: New Releases
The first Friday of June means we have nothing but new releases on The Ledge, and it's quite the lineup tonight. There are artists from all over the world, ranging from just a mile or so from my home (Thought Patrol) to Germany (Hamburg Ramones, Berlin Blackouts), with additional stops in Italy, Norway, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries). There's the return of a ton of veteran artists, including Rancid, Graham Parker, The Aquadolls, and Joan Jett.
Most importantly, at least for me, is the brand new project by Tommy Stinson. Over the last few years he's been touring with his pal Chip Roberts under the Cowboys in the Campfire moniker, and today sees the release of their debut album, Wronger. While a bit quieter than we're used to from the former Replacements bass player, it's still quite a record from the hardest working member of the legendary band.
Of course, we begin with the latest in the "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks" series, and this time it is nt a new release. This version is from the French band Nouvelle Vague, an act that was created to remake classic punk and new wave songs in bossa nova versions. Yes, it's a little bit of a departure from the normal covers of the song you've heard over the last five months, but it is definitely worthy of includsion.
And like always, I must again plead with y'all for more versions of "Teenage Kicks". If you are a musician, or have any contact with artists that could record their own take on the classic, please contact me!
