“I really wished that Marinette, Chloé, and Alya had some sort of Kitana, Mileena, and Jade alliance based on Kitana's Mortal Kombat 9 ending. Even though it wasn't canon in said game, Marinette taking Chloe in as her right-hand partner along with Alya and all three becoming this powerful all-female team would've been badass as hell.”

Hey y'all
First off, I wanna say thank you so much to those who voted on my Miraculous/Mortal Kombat poll! The results are in, and it looks like I will definitely be making it!
Tumblr media
I immediately regret using this GIF, but I needed something to fit the topic, LOL.
Secondly, the title of the story will be called "Chloé Kombat."
Here's what I have in mind for the plot:
Basically, post Revolution. Chloé is now in New York with her mom, but once again, Shao Kahn has invaded Earthrealm, and even the United Heroez can't stop him. Meanwhile, Chloé ends up running away from Audrey, and once she sees that Shao Kahn and his allies are 10x worse than Monarch was, she becomes horrified, either Liu Kang and Kitana or Sonya and Johnny adopt her as their own daughter because once she tells them her own story when she was Queen Bee and how she was manipulated by Monarch and Lila both while also being disowned by Andre, they take pity on her and begin to train her as a Protector of Earthrealm instead.
(Yes, I did copy and paste this from my main blog LOL)
However, here's the problem: Because Mortal Kombat 1 was recently released, we once again have a new timeline that is different from the past two; thus I kinda want to either choose 1 of the timelines from each game or take some certain plot points from all 3 timelines, and add them to my story.
That's why I am once again putting the power in your hands:
Alright, that's all I got. This writer won't be back until next week due to a constant busy schedule for babysitting. Thank you all so much for your support, and I'll see you all next time!

adrien dating the new holder of the butterfly miraculous
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: adrien agreste / chat noir x gn!reader
tags: villain!reader, enemies but also lovers (dating as civilians & fighting as miraculous users), secret identities (neither adrien nor reader know the other's identity), adrien & reader are in college
Tumblr media
after hawkmoth was defeated, everything should've ended there. paris should've been save and chat noir and ladybug shouldn't be needed anymore
but the butterfly miraculous had vanished mysteriously and soon after, a new villain using the miraculous turned up
it was around that time that adrien met you, as he started to attend college. the two of you got along immediately and became good friends
there were some romantic feelings lingering between the two of you and while adrien was hesitant at first, due to his secret identity and the burden he carried because of it, he eventually confessed to you and the two of you became a couple
of course, adrien could never tell you he was chat noir. just like you never told your boyfriend that you were the holder of the butterfly miraculous…
and neither of you suspected anything. you were far too sweet for adrien to ever believe you were a villain. and adrien never struck you as the guy who could be a hero
yet unbeknownst to the two of you, you were dating your mortal enemy. in your civilian form, you got along so well, but when using your miraculous, the two of you were constantly at each other's throat…

it’s them (again)
Written for @ladynoirjuly days 15 and 16!
Summary: Tikki and Plagg work at the cafe at the end of the world, where mortal souls rest and recharge for their next life with a magical drink made by the baristas. Here, souls can meet and decide to be soulmates, ordering their lives together at the counter, and one day, Plagg and Tikki's favorite mortal couple walks in. As cute as they are, their soulmate status is no guarantee since mortals never remember their past lives, but Ladybug and Chat Noir may have a bond like no other…
You can read the fic on AO3 (as a registered user) or below!
It was a quiet day at the cafe. The scent of fresh-baked brioches and cookies filled the air as a few patrons chatted in soft voices while sitting at the aquamarine booths filling the large expanses of the store.
Tikki was rinsing out one of the metal pitchers, humming a song to herself as she worked, when Plagg's urgent whisper reached her ear.
"It's those two again," he hissed, and Tikki looked up.
"Do you mean those two soulmates you're obsessed with are here?"
Plagg spluttered at Tikki's comment, and his face was completely red by the time Tikki nonchalantly turned around.
"I'm not obsessed with them," he insisted. "You're pretty interested in them, yourself, if I remember. You couldn't keep from cooing over them last time."
"Well, you can hardly blame me," Tikki responded, walking over to the shelf to replace the cup she'd washed. "They don't even know how adorable they are! It's so rewarding to watch them fall in love with each other again and again. They choose each other every time."
Plagg's expression softened, though it was only obvious to Tikki, who knew him well enough to read his every expression, no matter how inexpressive. She smiled in turn, wiping her damp hands off on her apron before asking, "Now, where are our favorite soulmates?"
"They're not soulmates yet," Plagg automatically responded. "They just got here, you know. They'll need some time to process before they decide."
"Of course," Tikki responded smoothly. "But we both know — or we hope we do — who they will decide on."
Plagg grunted. "Every time a human dies, their memory gets wiped, Tikki. You know that. Their souls arrive here, not their old body or their brains. We let them take on the appearance they had in their first life, just so there's something familiar, but they don't remember anything from Earth. All they know is what the soul guides told them when they were summoned — when they died. The usual spiel, you know; reincarnation is real, but you stay at this cafe and relax for a while before getting tossed into your next body. While you're here, you can pick a soulmate for your upcoming life. Meet as many people as you can, figure out who you want or if you'd rather go without a soulmate at all. When you're ready, tell the baristas" —Here Plagg motioned back and forth between himself and Tikki, an unneeded gesture that Tikki had to smile at— "Tell 'em who you choose, and get sent back to Earth for round the umpteenth or whatever."
"I know how the human life cycle works, Plagg," Tikki said, hiding a laugh in her voice.
Plagg rolled his eyes and huffed. "Yeah, yeah. My point is, they don't know they know each other, Tikki. I know we love it when they pick each other, but there's never any guarantee."
"Hmm. That's true enough, but over the history of humanity, they're the only two who've chosen each other every time, in each new life. When they die at different ages, one waits here for the other's soul to arrive, as if they're still connected by the same bond after they pass."
"That's impossible," Plagg countered. "Here, everyone is free of the ties they had on Earth."
"But once those two meet each other at our cafe, they always choose one another. Romantically or platonically, they always choose to be bonded in life. So, we send their souls to be born at the same time—"
"Roughly the same time," Plagg corrected. "Imperfect world, imperfect timing. Once they were a whole decade apart, age-wise."
"True," Tikki admitted with a wince. "But they've never lived a single life without each other. They complement each other perfectly, and make sure their time on Earth is fuller than it would have been, if it was spent with someone else."
Plagg nodded, looking away, past Tikki. She followed his gaze until she found the two lovers they'd been talking about. They were standing in the courtyard, blushing and smiling as they talked about something she couldn't hear from behind the main counter. The boy said something to the girl, and she paused in shock for a moment before giggling helplessly and playfully pushing him back a step.
"They are a perfect match for each other," Plagg said at last. "I'll admit I even try to make sure they don't have to wait long until they meet, back on Earth."
"You put a little extra whipped topping on their drinks," Tikki nodded. "I pretend that I don't see it." After a moment, she added, "I add a little extra sugar to their orders. I just want them to be happy, that's all! I— I'd do it for everyone if we had enough sugar!"
Plagg's lips stretched in a lazy smirk, and he looked back at Tikki. "You love them as much as I do."
Tikki smiled back at him. "We see too much of ourselves in them not to."
For a while, they stood there in amiable silence, watching their favorite soulmates stumble through the first meeting they could recall.
Already, the girl was blushing and the boy was looking at her with stars in his eyes. Whatever drew them to choose each other, it had worked like a charm, as it did every time. Plagg and Tikki could tell that they were already close to making their decision, just like they had the last time, and the time before that, and the time before that, stretching back for millennia.
Sure enough, before much more time could pass, the newly formed couple headed inside the cafe at the end of the world, hand in hand.
Tikki’s heart melted at the sight of the shy, but confident smiles on the pair’s faces, and Plagg let out an approving hum.
“It’s just as cute as it was the first time,” Tikki commented, and Plagg didn’t need to respond for her to know he agreed. Instead, he quickly manned the counter, ready to talk to the cafe’s newest customers and take their order.
“H-hello,” the girl stuttered out once she and her partner reached the counter. “Is this where we order? Um, soulmates, that is, not just coffee?”
“Unless there’s another cafe you’ve seen around here,” Plagg said snarkily. Tikki rolled her eyes and lightly slapped his arm as she stepped forward.
“What my partner meant to say is yes,” she said firmly. “You’re at the right place. What can we do for you?”
“We’re here to pick our soulmate in the next life,” the boy said, looking at the girl beside him for confirmation. She smiled and squeezed his hand in hers reassuringly. He visibly relaxed and beamed as he smiled back at her.
“Awwww,” Tikki cooed, dropping her head into her hands as practically melted onto the counter. A happy grin glued itself to her face, and the couple in front of her blushed at the attention.
“Let me guess, you’re picking each other,” Plagg said in a bored voice. Tikki knew the excitement it was hiding, or she’d have swatted him again for his attitude.
“Yeck,” the girl squeaked, and blushed harder. “Wait, no, I meant yes! We are, and so we’re ready for the next step to rebirth.”
“Mm-hm,” the boy agreed, leaning his head on top of hers. “And for some reason, that’s getting a coffee, right?”
“Caffeine is the best way to prepare your soul for an unforgiving round of mortal life,” Plagg said plainly as he prepared two large takeaway cups for the couple. “What names should I put on these for you?”
The pair of soulmates jumped, evidently having not prepared for this.
“Uh,” the girl said, and the boy similarly muttered, “Um.”
Plagg and Tikki exchanged mirthful glances. This was another one of their favorite parts at their job. Human souls never remembered their names, from the first or most recent life. However, some souls, these two in particular, gravitated towards the same names, over and over.
“I’ll be— Ladybug, I guess,” the girl stammered.
“Call me Chat Noir,” the boy said with a grin. “Pleased to make your acquaintance, my lady!”
With a flourish, he bent and raised Ladybug’s hand to his lips. She blushed helplessly and grinned at her new soulmate.
“You too,” she managed to squeak out.
“All right, then, two large passion-strawberry frappes with whipped cream and white chocolate shaving. Try not to get cavities,” Plagg said as he slid their order across the counter.
“That would be hard since we don’t have actual bodies yet,” Chat Noir commented as he handed Ladybug her drink and took a sip of his. On tasting it, he did a double take, staring at the drink with huge eyes. “Woah! Will all mortal drinks taste this good, or is it just at this cafe?”
“A bit of both, I think,” Tikki said, still resting her head on one hand as she happily stared at her favorite soulmates.
“Come on, Tiks, you know my drinks are the best in the universe,” Plagg complained. “Mortal drinks might taste almost as good if you’re the ones to make them for each other, though,” he added.
“What he means is, the secret ingredient is love,” Tikki whispered conspiratorially. “Especially once you get to Earth.”
“I’ll remember that,” Chat Noir said, smiling at her. “Or I’ll try, anyway. Hey, Ladybug, what do you think of the drink? Do you like it?” he asked, sounding a little anxious.
The soul guide who’d led him must have let it slip that the drinks were only as good as the relationship and life they heralded. Now Chat Noir must be worried that his partner wouldn’t like being with him as much as he’d like being with her, Tikki realized.
Ladybug, who’d been sipping her drink, paused to give Chat Noir a smile. “It’s really good,” she said happily. “If it’s really like the soul guides said, then I’m excited to find out what makes my next life as good as this drink. Though I might already have a guess,” she tacked on shyly.
Chat Noir blushed as he smiled at Ladybug. “I have a similar feeling,” he sighed. “I can’t wait to start my new life with you.”
“That’s exactly what you said last time,” Plagg remarked, half conscious of what he was saying.
Ladybug squinted. “What did you say?”
Plagg straightened. “Oh! Well, it’s just, last time, you guys chose each other, too, and he said the same thing. That’s all,” he said with a shrug.
Tikki resisted the urge to facepalm.
“We chose each other last time, too?” Chat Noir asked curiously. “Wait, do you know if our lives were good together? Are there any tips we should know for this life, to make it even better?”
Plagg faltered, so Tikki spoke up. “We don’t know most of what happens on Earth,” she explained gently. “We can only spare so much time to peek down at the mortal world. It’s a busy job here, you know?” At Ladybug and Chat’s falling faces, she quickly added, “But from what I know, you were very happy together. You know, you choose each other every time you can,” she blurted out.
“What? You mean we’ve, wait, how many times have we picked each other?” Ladybug asked.
Tikki crossed her arms. “I’m not allowed to say, technically. But it happens often enough that we started recognizing you. You’re my favorite soulmate pair!” she squealed. “You’re always so cute together! Plagg agrees, don’t you, Plagg?”
Plagg took off his glove and scratched his head. “It does make me happy to see you’re still happy with each other,” he admitted. “I’m not really one for all that mushy stuff, though. That’s more Tikki’s thing.”
“But you do think we’re good for each other?” Chat Noir pressed. “It’s not a mistake to keep choosing each other, is it? Not that I think it is!” he quickly added as his face twisted up. “But is it common to pick the same soulmate repeatedly? Are we supposed to branch out, work with new people? Are we doing this wrong, or right?”
“There’s nothing wrong with picking the same partner,” Plagg said emphatically. “It’s not your fault it’s so rare. Most mortals are just less well suited to each other, or get separated on the way here, or something. The universe just seems to like you.”
“Almost as much as you must like each other,” Tikki added with a wink. “Nothing this cute could ever be against the rules. I wouldn’t mind seeing it happen more often!”
Ladybug, blushing furiously, took another sip of her coffee. Tikki noticed she was still holding Chat Noir’s hand, like she’d been doing ever since they both got their frappes. It was really like they were always being pulled together, she noted. Or choosing to be. Maybe both.
“So, when do our next lives start, then?” Chat Noir asked after a while. “As soon as we finish drinking, or a little after?”
“It all depends,” Plagg said. “Keep an eye out for soul guides. They’re the ones that give the signal. The coffee’s just the fuel, not the thing that kickstarts your next life.”
“In the meantime, you can take your drinks anywhere to enjoy them,” Tikki said. “Inside at a table, or outside, by the beach or at the soul station. It’s fun to watch the newest souls arrive, if you ask me.”
Chat Noir and Ladybug exchanged glances and whispered to each other for a moment.
“Okay, we’ll head outside then!” Chat Noir said cheerily. “Thanks for all your help! See you next time around.”
“Enjoy your evening,” Ladybug said with a wave, and even Plagg couldn’t find the heart to tell her evening wasn’t really a thing at the end of the world. The sky was just like that.
“Have fun, kids,” he said, and watched as they exited the cafe.
“They’ll be back soon,” Tikki said, and Plagg realized he was frowning. She rubbed his back and gave him a smile.
“Yeah, you’re right,” he said, dusting off his spotless apron. “With how helpless mortals are, they’ll probably be back before we make another billion lattes. Ridiculous.”
“I bet it’s two billion,” Tikki said as she started restocking the straws. “And you’ll be the one looking for them when they show up. Since you always miss them so much,” she teased.
Plagg rolled his eyes half-heartedly. “Ah, you miss them too,” he huffed. “At least I’m willing to admit they might not always pick each other.”
“But they will,” Tikki insisted. “Ladybug and Chat Noir always choose each other. They’re the perfect soulmates.”
Plagg looked off in the distance as a smile curved his lips upwards. “Yeah,” he agreed contently. “They really are.”

Why the "True Selves" Theory is Insulting
Image for a second that you have a friend who's a bit of a ditz. She's also fun, creative, and sweet. You enjoy being around her, but you've never seen her as more than a friend. Then, one day, a fire breaks out at an event that you and your friend are attending. Your lives are suddenly in mortal peril and the same goes for everyone around you because you can't find the exit. You think that you're going to die.
Then, suddenly, your friend transforms. Not in a magical way, it's just a personality shift, but it might as well be magical because it's like nothing you've ever seen! The ditziness is gone, replaced by laser focus and a take-charge attitude that has everyone following your friend without question. When all is said and done, everyone lives because of you friend. As it turns out, her tendency to get easily distracted means that she's a fantastic in-the-moment problem solver.
Going through that completely changes how you see this girl. You no longer just like her, no, you're now deeply in love with her. You tell a mutual friend about this and they laugh at you, then say, "Don't be silly, that wasn't really her! Her true self isn't that brave girl who saved your life! That was special circumstances that don't count. All that counts is the way she acts when there isn't a crisis going on. It doesn't matter that you've always liked her and enjoyed her company, if you didn't fall in love with based solely on her ditzy self, then you don't really love her."
Most people would call this mutual friend insane because of course going through crazy experiences changes the way we view people! Imagine if you had an allergic reaction and your significant other's reaction was to panic and run away, leaving you to die. You only live because you manage to grab your phone and call '911.' That would understandably lead many people to reassess if this is the person they want to spend their life with just like the opposite experience might make you see a person as a good life partner.
Marinette is Ladybug. She gets full credit for everything she's done in the suit and it's perfectly fine for Adrien to become attracted to her after he sees her in action. It doesn't mean that he only values her Ladybug side. He quite clearly cares for Marinette, he just hasn't seen her in the right light for him to fall in love. (And, if we're being frank, Marinette acts like Ladybug all the time when he's not around or when he is around, but a crisis is going on. She's really not that different from her alter ego.)
Along similar lines, Marinette isn't wrong for being drawn to Adrien's sweeter side more than his over-the-top jokey side. There's a reason why Glaciator ended with her blushing. Compare the end of Glaciator to the end of Origins and, yeah, same energy because - in that moment - Chat Noir was letting his Adrien side out by being more sincere and vulnerable, which are the things that Marinette values most in a romance and the things that he rarely shows while in the mask. It doesn't mean that she hates his jokey side, it's just not going to win her heart when Adrien's right there being sweet and sincere while Chat Noir hides his feelings behind a smile and a laugh.
In fact, it's pretty insulting to Adrien to say that someone shouldn't be attracted to his more vulnerable side. That his sincerity is worth less than his jokes. Almost as insulting as telling Marinette that her Ladybug side doesn't count and she should get no credit for being brave as that's not really her. Loving her only counts if a person falls in love while she's behaving in her most over-the-top, cringe, embarrassing way.
I don't know about you, but I would never want someone to hold me to that standard nor would I hold my significant other to that standard! It's perfectly normal to have things that you don't love about your significant other. In fact, I'd argue that part of the magic of a real, lasting romance is having someone who loves you even though you're not perfect. If you are looking for a partner who never annoys you or does something wrong, then you will never find happiness because that person does not exist.
Now that I've said all of that, I want to add that I do think that marichat, "love both sides" stories can be cute. It's just not One True Path to Real Love. It's totally fine if the square starts dating based on the things that they find attractive about each other and then just continue to be in love as they learn about the other side. If anything, that's normal. Learning about a person is what dating is all about! A good relationship is no different than a good friendship, you just get some bonus perks if you're into that kind of thing.
I'll also note that I'm not criticizing stories where Marinette feels like she's the "real" version and Ladybug is the fake because that's a really understandable thing to be nervous about. Tikki saying that shit? Hard no. Terrible mentoring.

Anyway, Gabriel's role as Monarch is directly tied to Adrien. It doesn't make sense in terms of the story to split his character into two parts to act as a villain for both Marinette and Adrien separately, because Monarch has specifically been set up to impact Adrien's character as both a civilian and a hero.
Aside from the obvious part where the terrorist Adrien has been battling for months on end is his own father, Monarch's main motivation is to bring back Adrien's mother. That itself directly connects Adrien to his father's supervillain alter ego. They have even come into conflict over this, like in Felix.
Adding onto that, Gabriel's abuse of his son is also tied to his supervillain shenanigans. Gabriel has, on numerous occasions, targeted several of Adrien's classmates using Adrien as a way to get to them. Like in Bubbler, where he used Nino's relationship with Adrien as a way to akumatize him, while also ensuring that Adrien would remain isolated. Or even like in Optigami, where he uses Adrien's relationship to his classmates in order to execute his plan. There are several such examples, but the fact is that Gabriel exploits his son's relationships as a civilian in order to pull of his schemes. He involves his son in this whether Adrien is aware of this or not.
Aside from that, we have examples like him using Adrien as a virtual avatar for the Alliance rings which he uses to transfer Miraculous powers and uses to "Miraculize" people in the finale, literally by exploiting people's nightmares about his son being kidnapped by Ladybug and Chat Noir, essentially using his son's image as a way to perpetuate his plan.
And he has also deliberately targeted his son. See Riposte, Gorizilla, Style Queen, Representation, etc. He at his worst, is not concerned whether or not his own son is targeted by someone who might want to slice him apart or let him crumble into dust, and at best, is worried but not enough to stop. And there are the cases where he exploits his own relationship with his son in order to akumatize him. See Chat Blanc and Ephemeral. None of these would have happened if Hawkmoth/Shadow Moth had been anyone but Gabriel Agreste. Him being Adrien's father matters here. See Transmission for a non-magically erased example, where he is able to give Adrien an Alliance ring under the guise of being a caring father so that he can akumatize him.
Aside from that, Gabriel uses his powers to enforce his control over his son. The most obvious example of this is the whole "Adrien is a Sentimonster" business, wherein Gabriel uses the rings with Adrien's Amok to mind-control him. This directly ties his abuse of Adrien to his magical shenanigans. Aside from this, there are subtler ways, such as him using his akumatization into The Collector to guilt-trip and gaslight Adrien in The Collector and Illusion. Or when he akumatizes Kagami in order to stop his son from going against his wishes in Protection. He specifically takes advantage of his supervillain powers to abuse and control his son.
And even forgetting all this, his supervillainy involves causing harm to Adrien's friends, whom he then has to fight and save. Imagine the pain he might feel when he realizes that his father is responsible for all that. That his father hurt his best friend to take advantage of that sadness. That his father went after his friends in their moment of vulnerability to turn them into his minions. All this under the notion of bringing his mother back, even as he hurt and neglected him.
And Adrien has been fighting this man on a regular basis. He's fought this man. He's accidentally mortally wounded this man. Gabriel is crumbling and dying under his cataclysm, and he doesn't know that he's essentially killed his father (he's not to blame, of course, but still). Imagine the horror that comes with knowing this, imagine the pain. Chat Noir and Monarch are not impersonal enemies, even if they don't know it yet. Chat Noir is Adrien and Monarch is Gabriel, and they are father and son. Gabriel's motivation is about Adrien and Adrien's mother. Adrien has been fighting the man who has been abusing him, in part using the magical items he possesses. Chat Noir, to Adrien, represents freedom from his life, and especially represents freedom from Gabriel.
You cannot separate Gabriel into Gabriel the abusive father and Monarch the supervillain. You cannot. Not in the way this story is written. It would be a better argument if Gabriel were a generic villain who just wanted world domination or something, but he isn't. His motivation is personal to both himself and Adrien. Marinette does not have the same stakes in this. She feels the responsibility to defeat him, sure, but when it comes down to it, it is Chat Noir who has the emotional brunt of this confrontation, even made physical by the deadly wound unwittingly caused by his power on his father. And it's not like Chat Noir doesn't feel the responsibility to take down Monarch either. Marinette may be the Guardian, but she is not at the center of this. By virtue of how the story is written, Adrien is the one who will be most affected by Monarch being Gabriel, he is directly linked by virtue of being the hero who is fighting his father, and the confrontation is and should be between them.
I say this, of course, in the objective sense of how the story is written, not because I think Marinette shouldn't be the lead and Adrien should. As it stands, Adrien is the one with the emotional stakes in the matter, and he was cast aside. This isn't a matter of wanting my favourite character to have the spotlight, this is a simple matter of narrative payoff and thematic consistency. Plot points that are set up need to be resolved. If they set up Adrien and Gabriel as father and son, they need to deal with it. If they wanted Marinette to be the one to defeat Gabriel and be the only one who fights Monarch, then they shouldn't have given Adrien the arc of breaking free from his father by virtue of becoming a superhero. If they wanted the emotional core of the conflict against Monarch to lie with Marinette, they shouldn't have made him Adrien's father.
If Monarch was meant to be Marinette's villain, then what is the point of Chat Noir? Why was Adrien made into a superhero when he was never meant to fight his father? Why have him swear to be by Ladybug's side to defeat Monarch, why have him mortally wound him, why have him there at all, if none of it mattered? Why is it called The Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, if Chat Noir was never going to be relevant? Why write it like this if it was supposed to end with him being left out of the arc they seemingly set up for him?
As it is, Marinette doesn't even defeat Monarch by being a badass superhero. She talks him down using his relationship to Adrien. This is undeniable proof that Gabriel and Monarch are not separate. This was never Marinette's fight. In the end, it still comes down to Adrien. You cannot remove the fact that they are father and son from this, you cannot separate their identities. When it comes to defeating the big bad, the fact that he is Gabriel and Adrien is his son matters most by how the story is written. Throwing Marinette in there at the last minute and trying to give her the greatest stakes in the fight will never work, because the story is built around the Agrestes from the beginning.
If they wanted Marinette to have the boss battle to herself, they should not have made Monarch Adrien's dad. He should have been some rando. Then Marinette would have the most stakes in the fight and the Bug Noire thing wouldn't be as insulting. But they didn't, so she didn't. We were left with a finale which had cool fight scenes, but not emotional payoff. I personally did not feel a thing watching it. Because there's nothing to be emotional about. Adrien was left out, and Marinette got a cool fight scene with no character moments to show for it because the emotional core of the conflict was never about her.
When you set something up, you can't sweep it under the rug because you wanted something else later. You can't ignore what you wrote because you don't wanna write it anymore. If they set up Adrien and Gabriel's relationship this way, it has to be addressed. It has to be dealt with. If Adrien was supposed to confront his father and free himself from his control, then he should be allowed to face him, not have Marinette do it for him. And if Marinette was supposed to have a stake in her battle, she shouldn't have to play the supporting role in a conflict that isn't about her ultimately, and she shouldn't be shoehorned into the role another character should occupy without any of the narrative or emotional weight in the matter.
No one got a good conclusion here. Marinette was shoved into someone else's arc instead of having her own. Adrien was ejected from his arc. Both their characters suffered here. The narrative set-ups were demolished, and the themes were destroyed. Both Adrien and Marinette deserved better than this.

AU idea: After the Chameleon fight, and before Lila can leave, Ladybug says Chameleon's last form was an oyster... And Chat Noir blurts out "YOU KILLED HER?!", before having to reveal that forcing an oyster open means mortally and painfully wounding it.
How do you think they would react to knowing Ladybug basically tore apart Lila's heart?
I mean canonically Marinette has committed several murders and she doesn't really care about it or even stop to go :/ so.
Ya know.

PLEASE tell me about your "marinette makes the wish and chat noir disappears" wip <33333
hiii nemali ty for the ask 💗
ok so this is the first iteration of my other fic don't be a stranger. you know how when you set out to write one fic and it turns into another? that's what happened with this one. but i still wanna write the og premise too!
i have it planned so that adrien is mortally wounded (no brooms please) and by some tragic twist of fate doesn't have his miraculous on him. maybe lila took it and she wrestles it off of her to make the wish.
she wishes for adrien to never have been harmed.
in the new world, adrien has both his parents. adrien is allowed to eat whatever he wants, is allowed to go out with his friends, is not forced to model for gabriel. in the new world, there is a ladybug and a chrysalis. there is no chat noir.
now i can't decide what would be worse for marinette: if everybody remembers chat noir and wonders what happened to him and if the world just comes to assume he's dead. they put up monuments to him odnlb-style and ppl ask ladybug about him in interviews and she has several panic attacks caught on camera.
or: nobody remembers chat noir, not even chrysalis. marinette has the black cat miraculous and asks plagg what happened but he can't say. paris only has ladybug signs and merch, with no trace of chat noir. she asks her friends if they remember what happened to the black cat holder, they say who? she tells adrien everything and insists that chat noir was real and begs him to believe her. he holds her close and says "i believe that you believe it."
either way she'll believe chat noir was the price of the wish! how fun.

Awww, that was adorable! Danny struggling not coo at how adorable the two were being was great, lol.
I think I have one final addition to this AU that I only thought of because of the detail of Danny being a former (and probably the greatest) peacock holder. This is also a bit self indulgent, but imagine that Ladybug and Chat Noir somehow manage to lure out Mayura, and then they make a comment about saying something like “Oh, you should be more worried about him then us”. As they say this, they look towards the sky as a green beam of energy descends onto the ground as if a god was coming down to the mortal place, only to reveal a pissed off Danny. Naturally, he easily kicks her ass, and for the first time Ladybug and Chat Noir see how scary Danny can be. What do you think?
Honestly, I really like the idea of Danny beating Mayura even without really flashy powers. >:3 Just good old intangibility, invisibility, and fists. But I can imagine he gives her a warning shot. ;3
I won't write out the build-up, since you have it in hand, but I can write the action sequence!:
---
Mayura hadn't expected it to be a trap. Ladybug and Chat Noir tried not to retreat if they could help it, but their limited timers made it a necessity more often than not, although the two young heroes typically found ways to make up for lost ground. This time was different. Truthfully, the last few months had been different.
Whereas they had once been untrained, now they were more refined, quicker to respond, more willing to take... harsher methods. No one was ever severely harmed while doing so- as expected, they were still naive children at the end of the day- but they pushed limits that had once been left untouched and Mayura had few theories for what could have caused such a change.
Gabriel believed that the Guardian had taken them into their instruction, but Natalie didn't think so. After all, where was all this months ago, at the start of the hero careers? Where was all this when they had been new on their feet and fresh-faced to the battle? But whatever the cause may be, Ladybug and Chat Noir had become a more formidable foe these past few months and Gabriel was starting to feel irritated.
It was why Natalie was out here now, as Mayura. She tried not to use the Peacock Miraculous if she could help it, but so long as they wrapped this up quickly, efficiently, then they could concern themselves with the consequences later (as per usual).
She hadn't expected any more company.
She certainly hadn't expected the energy beam from the sky.
Mayura jumped over to another rooftop to escape the blast, crouching to offset the force of her jump. Suddenly, Chat Noir's remark made much more sense because she was faced with the furious face of the strange being that had flitted through Paris' streets all those months ago.
So this was their helper? That could be the only explanation-
Mayura threw herself out of the way of another fist, which missed her by a hair's breath. But her opponent didn't hold back, and Mayura became intimately aware of how unmatched she was. She could handle Ladybug and Chat Noir fairly well, they tended to hold back when they dealt with Akuma and that carried over to facing other threats. But this one?
He was faster than her, and he fought with a vicious edge she was in no way prepared for. She could barely dodge, but quite frankly, she was afraid to find out what would happen if she actually got hit.
She didn't have to wait long, because a fist collided with her stomach and sent her tumbling to the ground. Her only saving grace was the sentimonster she created to deter her opponent.
Mayura used that to give herself some breathing room, to wrap her mind around her next move of attack. She should retreat, most likely, but she was sure this one would follow her. And she couldn't imagine she would have as easy a time throwing them off her tracks. Not if they were always this fast.
She looked on in what could only be described as horror as her enemy sheared straight through the sentimonster with smoking green fists and glowing green eyes and she knew she was done.
---
Phantom could actually be pretty terrifying. Adrien had already kind of known this, of course, but seeing how easily he trounced Mayura made it a little more real. Mayura was a tricky one to handle usually, she was clever, and dare Adrien say more creative than Hawkmoth. But Phantom didn't care about any of that. He just pushed and pushed and Mayura fell.
Honestly, Adrien thought it might be better if she just didn't get up. Yielding would be better than facing Phantom's fury any further.
Adrien shivered. He couldn't tell if it was from fear, awe, or anticipation.
Phantom was awesome. He was like a real life anime protagonist. He wanted to be Phantom when he grew up.

Lady and the Scoundrel - Chapter 4 - Breaking News
Beginning || Previous || Next
Chloe sat in a library for study hall. She worked on her assignments alone when Barkk burst into the silent library. Everyone turned to stare at Barkk while Chloe hid herself behind a book.
“Chloe! Did you see the news?” Barkk whined.
Chloe flinched. “No. No, I didn’t.”
Barkk stood beside Chloe and pulled out her phone. Chloe’s eyes widened seeing a news report of a bank heist. She skimmed the report and saw a blurry photo of a man in a black cat themed prince outfit.
            “What the-?” Chloe started.
“A bank has been robbed by a supervillain!” Barkk howled.
Gasps tore through the library as it buzzed from the other students. Chloe grabbed Barkk’s tie and pulled her down.
“Was that a holder?” Chloe whispered.
“It had to be. I’m also sure it’s Plagg, the black cat kwami of destruction.”
“Wait, wasn’t that Chat Noir’s kwami?”
“Not anymore. Chat Noir has a new kwami. His old one is with someone new.”
“And this person is out there robbing banks?”
            “Apparently.”
“This isn’t good, you know that, right?”
“Well, what can be done? He’s a holder. He has free reign. It’s not like any mortal can hurt him.”
Chloe’s eyes widened and she smiled. “No, but another holder can.”
Barkk gasped. “Wait, you aren’t suggesting-!”
“Cheri, it’s perfect. This is my chance. A chance I thought I’d never have again. I can finally prove myself a hero.”
“But, Chloe, should we? Or rather, should you? You have enough with school and trying to adjust.”
“That’ll come later, but this, this won’t. C’mon, I can be a hero again, like when I was Queen Bee. I can finally prove myself worthy.”
“You don’t need to prove yourself worthy though.”
“Yes, I do. I had Pollen taken from me because I revealed who I was. But I still tried my best to be good, to be a hero. I hoped Ladybug would give me a second chance, but she never did. Then she gave Kagami a second chance knowing Kagami revealed her identity. I was furious and… and helped our enemy.”
            Barkk’s pigtails drooped.
“I know I’ll always be worthy to you, but I need to prove it to myself. I betrayed everyone. Ladybug, Chat Noir, the whole city of Paris. I may not be in Paris, London may not know who Chloe Bourgeois is, but this is my chance. I have a fresh start, a second chance thanks to Velze. I’ll make sure to make things right.”
Barkk sighed, then smiled. “Alright, alright. You have me on board. What’s the plan?”
“We sneak out after lights out. If we’re lucky, we’ll come across him.”
            “And when we do?”
“Well, I don’t know. I guess pelt him with arrows until he runs scared with his tail between his legs.”
Barkk hummed. “Simple. I like it. Just don’t strike anywhere vital.”
“About that. Are you sure there’s no way I can dull the arrows?”
            “What do you mean?”
“Well, I don’t exactly want to hurt anyone. Not anymore. I’ve done that enough. So, can I, I dunno, hit them and something happen that isn’t it piercing them?”
“Well, I suppose? I never thought of my arrows doing much else other than making people fall in love or killing.”
Chloe paled. “Cheri, please. I really don’t want to hurt him. Villain or not.”
“I’ll see what I can do. Just, give me time to figure out what to do.”
“How long will that take though?”
“Just a few hours. I should have something put together as a first prototype when we head out later. Ok?”
            “Ok.”
            “Good. Cover for me.”
Chloe opened her mouth as Barkk ran out the door. She sighed and returned to her assignments.
~~
Chloe returned to her dorm for lights out. She looked around her room but didn’t see Barkk. She pursed her lips and stepped in. She dressed down for bed when Barkk materialized. She jumped, then scowled.
“What the heck, Barkk? Where were you? And you need to be careful doing that.”
“I know, I know, but it’s just easier.”
            “What’s easier?”
“Yes. Anyway, I have a prototype arrow available.”
“Thank goodness. What can it do?”
            “Well, it doesn’t kill.”
            “Barkk.”
“Ok, ok. It’s a dulled arrow filled with a fog. Whatever it hits will release the fog that disorients those caught in it. Just, uh, one condition.”
            “What’s the condition?”
“Well, it needs to be related to, well, me. So, the fog sorta, you know, uh, makes those in the fog, uh, fall for the first person they see.”
            “What? Barkk!” Chloe screeched.
“I’m sorry! It was that or make them really, well, in the mood. If you catch my drift.”
“Seriously? Couldn’t you have made it literally anything else? Aren’t there more types of loves than just romantic?”
“Well, yes, but that’s the thing. You don’t know which love it’ll be. So, hey, maybe you’ll get lucky and it’ll just be another friend.”
            “And if I’m not?”
            “Uh, do you like boys?”
            Chloe groaned. “Ridiculous! Utterly-!”
Chloe took a deep breath as she caught herself. She swallowed hard and shook her head.
“I’m sorry. I… that may be a habit that’ll be hard to kick.”
“It’s ok, Chloe. I did just drop something big, but that is the unfortunate thing. I am love. I can’t be anything other than that, same with everything about me, including my weapons. I wish I could be more, but I can’t.”
“I… understand. I’ll just… still have to be careful.”
“You’re going to need to be anyway. We aren’t what you remember us. We’re stronger, more powerful, everything. It’ll be a whole new experience, but a dangerous one. If you’re ready, you know what you need to say.”
Chloe nodded. She took several deep breaths, then sighed. “Barkk, let’s play.”

Link: ao3 Pairing: Jason Grace/Nico di Angelo Fandom: Percy Jackson & the Olympians Tags: Miraculous Ladybug AU, Mortal AU, implied/referenced homophobia, Chat Noir!Jason Grace, Ladybug!Nico di Angelo
Chapter Word Count: 6,882
Chapter Summary:
“He’s the akuma, Bug.” The handcuffed Chat Noir gritted his teeth, trying to pry the other Chat’s hands off the collar of his suit. The chains were just barely long enough to allow it. “He set a trap and caught me by the scruff, but I don’t know what his end goal is.” “No, I swear he’s the fake!” The Chat Noir not in chains turned to Nico, electric blue eyes wide and sincere, the fight clearly less important to him than the conversation. “He’s trying to drive a rift between us, to steal you away from me.” Chained-up Chat blinked, grip suddenly slack. “Haha, what?” Oh god. This was all Nico’s fault. or; Sometimes, the only way to deal with your feelings is by beating them up.
this chapter brought to you by Jasico Bingo Month! i hope my self-indulgent nonsense brings you as much joy as it brought me :3

So, what's the story behind the Lost Miraculous AU rewrite of Season 5?
Basically, it's gonna be about Chloé's journey of using a brand new miraculous that will help her change and redeem for good under the right guidance by my OC, Don Undra who will be the Guardian of the Australian Miracle Box.
The first arc will pick up where Queen Banana left off with Chloé discovering the Spider Miraculous and its kwami Octod, and once Don Undra sees how useful she is with the miraculous, he allows her to be its current holder and decides to train her in order to help her be a better hero as well as person.
The second arc will feature Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Chloé as Tiarantula working together to get back all the miraculouses one by one while Chloé will also learn to not only improve herself, but also her relationships with those around her (Adrien, Marinette, Zoé, Sabrina, Andre.) while under Don Undra's training. Basically, think Raiden training Liu Kang in a Mortal Kombat game. In addition, she will also learn to not only forgive herself and her past mistakes, but she will also learn that she'll have to earn forgiveness from those around her. Especially Marinette.

Miraculous Kombat: Fatalities (Part 1)
(Been getting into a Mortal Kombat kick recently, so I decided to do Fatalities if Miraculous characters win a fight)
(Tw: Graphic depictions of killing via Mortal Kombat style)
Ladybug:
Death of the Monarch: Ladybug summons her lucky charm and its a Guillotine. Ladybug restrains her foe and puts them in the guillotine.
Yo-Yo oh no: Ladybug uses her yo-yo to wrap around her opponents waist before pulling hard enough to bisect them. Then she does the same thing to the head.
Lucky break: Ladybug summons a lucky charm and its a sledge hammer, smashes the knees, the ribs, then Finally the head
Chat noir:
Heart Breaker: Chat noir knocks the foe to the floor before using his claw and going right through the opponents chest, ripping out the heart and cataclysming it.
Strike a pose: A camera man shows up to take photos, Chat noir using his staff and brutally beatting his opponent with each photo showing a graphic hit, until the last one is him posing with the opponents head.
Bit the dust: Chat noir uses cataclysm right on the person's face and the person is screaming in anguish but their jaw is closed. You see them flailing until they are a black statue which chat noir blows on and they fly away as ashes.
Rena Rouge:
False hope: It looks like Rena Rouge is going for a Friendship ending using a flower. The person goes to take it, when they grab it, it is revealed to be a bomb and it blows up in their face
Make it double: Rena Rouge takes the form of whoever they are fighting and proceeds to kill them in a brutal way, copying their victory pose
Mirage of Mayhem: Rena Rouge Creates an illusion of a monster or killer and it causes the opponent to back away in fear when they gets stabbed through the windpipe by Rena's Flute.
