To say that I’m thankful for all my Father has done for me, would just be the tip of the iceberg, yet to be discovered. More often than not, I forget all that he has done for me in lieu of being thankful for all that my Mother has done. And it should make him mad but he is always full of understanding, and always accepting. He’s a pillar that I have leaned upon for 24 years of my life, one that I shall lean upon forever without the fear of it breaking apart under my weight. But too often I dismiss all that he gives me. Maybe I take it for granted. Maybe I’m just that forgetful. Because I’m human and humans tend to remember that which is obvious. And my father cares for me in the most subtle and gentle manner. Suffice to say, I love my father dearly. It is a fact that need not be reinstated and that does not require confirmation. But I don’t say it enough. We’re awkward like that. So, taking this post as the eternal love letter to him, I want to confess that I love him dearly. And that I always appreciate all that he does. This isn’t even poetry. It’s a fact that both warms my heart and makes me somber. It gives me strength but turns me weak as well. I love my Mother. This is a fact and doesn’t need to be reiterated or flaunted. But sometimes I forget how much she has done for me. I’m only human, after all. Sometimes we fight and maybe I end up hurting her. Sometimes, I’m the one hurting too. But that doesn’t mean I love her any less. She knows that and so do I. And no one else needs to know this fact. Then why am I posting this? Why am I flaunting my love for her to the internet. I’m not. This post, is just my way of appreciating her presence in my life. I’m blessed to have her in my life.
