She has more than proven she is a talented and capable competitor and should not be racing in a development series

Later, when they're waiting for a post-podium ride back to the hotel and the humiliation of not even having a motorhome is boiling high under her skin, Ana breaks.

"How come you don't talk to me?" She asks, facing the near-empty parking lot.

Maria is silent beside her. Ana hears her slow, consistent breathing, like a fucking Zen master and it makes her want to set the world upside down and see if that will crack Maria's veneer.

"We were in the same paddock," Ana says, "For years."

"I guess I never got the chance," Maria says, finally, and she sounds a little tentative to speak. It feels like victory.

"Bullshit," Ana scoffs.

"We were in different classes, MotoE has a shorter calendar–"

"Ten fucking years," Ana says. "Moto3 and Supersport," She knows she's gotten under Maria's skin, feels her shoulders harden, and doesn't turn to look. 

Maria huffs, "I was a kid,"

"You were the only other woman. It was you and me and an entire fucking paddock of men, multiple paddocks of men,"

"Why are you asking me this now?" Maria says, and she steps in front of Ana, blocks out the setting sun. Ana suddenly doesn't know where to put her hands. Maria is too tall like this, those couple extra centimeters an impassable barrier, her face angled down, stern. There's still sweat-slick hair pressed to her forehead, loose from her ponytail.

It doesn't matter. Maria continues, "You had a championship. You got what you wanted, and I was still fighting to earn single points. Why can't you just let me work in peace,"

"That's all it is? Work?"

"I don't need to defend myself to you,"

"Really? 'Cause on track–"

"Is that what this is about?" Maria shouts, incredulous, and it feels like Ana's finally found a gap in her armor. She watches Maria collect herself, gathering the kind of meditative deep breath that puffs out her chest and makes Ana want to knock it out of her. Her face tightens and relaxes. "We're racers. We race. That's our job. None of it is personal until you start taking it personal."

“Everything is personal! It’s all personal! They called us bitches, dykes, said we were only there to fill quotas, said we never had a fucking chance. How does that not mean something to you?”

“I had to keep it out of my head. Why can’t you see that? It was the only way to survive!”

“But you didn’t have to do it alone,”

“How else?” Maria laughs, darkly, mean. “There was no one on my side, nobody cared about me!”

“I did!” Ana shouts, and feels the scar tissue in her back stretch and contract as she tightens her shoulders. Maria’s gone completely still, her face blank, frozen. 

“I needed you,” Ana murmurs.

The car pulls up.

Hi, sorry if this is a weird question, but why do you hate portimao?

Hi anon 👋👋. It's actually not a weird ask. It's actually pretty fair one.

My issue with this tracks come from the point that it's not a safe track. Simple as that. Portimão is one of the most dangerous tracks on the calendar. For once the weather is not constant, it's pretty windy and it's also have lot of chances of becoming a wet race, and that is a fucking mess when you take into account MotoE, Moto3 and Moto2.

The track itself is a dangerous one. We have a lot of accidents in here, Jorge Martín, Pol Espargaró and Carlos Tatay. And not only that, this track had the grade to be in the calendar for WSBK, but not for MotoGP, but then 2020 rolled, and it was included in the calendar, but not a single change was done, but still got the grade, according to some sources. So basically is a not apt track for bikes going over 360 km/h.

Appart of that, riders had said that this is one of those tracks where the barriers are too close for their liking, but still not a fucking thing is done. And then we have the gravel traps that have one of the biggest rocks the paddock has seen. We are still carrying this issue actually, as some new gravel was added, but in some part (half of each gravel) keeps it. Riders have gone out of Portimão covered on bruises.

I do understand that the racing is great here, but I can't stop thinking, 'who is going to be the next rider who will get injured here?' 'Is rider X not moving because he's in pain or because he got several injured?'. And there's this particular turn, where you have the camera and the riders lean like a lot and I always have the sensation riders are crashing.

So to sump it upo, I don't like Portimão because it's an unsafe track.

Hi how are you? So as a new fan I have seen everyone talking about Nadia -I believe that is her name- who is she? Because I tried searching for someone who say who she is but I haven’t found anything and thought who better than you to help me

Hi anon 👋👋👋👋. I'm fine thanks for asking.

My guess is that people is talking about Nadia Padovani. She is the team owner and team principal of Gresini Racing MotoGP™. She was Maried to Fausto Gresini and she took over the management of the team once Fauto died.

People talk about her because she's (I think) the first female to be team principal in MotoGP. Also because Gresini is doing well at the moment and a lot of riders have been part of that family at some point. Gresini is considered to be a family team, where riders are happy.

People is also talking about her because she has said she ask Fausto about any important decision, such as when they decided to sign Marc (or any other rider). And also people is reminding that she is the cause Diggia doesn't have a bike at the moment because she has signed Marc.

Overall she seems to be one of the 'good' team managers on the paddock and good for women in motorsports to have a so visible face up there.
