I think on this fine Saturday afternoon it's a good opportunity to take a breather and remember that there are really no ethical paparazzi pictures. Every single one is inherently exploitative.
Just because photos were taken on a movie set, when someone is 'working,' does not make the practice any less invasive and creepy. Imagine just going about your day, doing your job and having some weirdo snapping pictures of you to sell without your consent for others to endlessly repost online.
There are thousands of pictures of your favourite actor online already. Plenty taken with his knowledge and consent. I'd really like to see more of them on my dash, rather than the creeper shots.
And don't get me started how disseminating these pictures directly leads to people going to said sets. What starts off as admiring how good someone looks has real world implications.
No, hanging around a movie set and disrupting people doing their jobs is not harmless fun or a way to show your appreciation.
If you hang around a movie set, you are a stalker.
Don't tell me that it's okay to take your online admiration for someone offline. You may admire him but he does not, and will never, personally know you. He will never be your friend/boyfriend/daddy. He is a stranger.
The only way meeting your favourite actor is going to happen is at a convention or maaaaaybe a movie premiere if you're incredibly fortunate. You know, places they appear specifically to meet fans (or not in the case of premieres, where the purpose is to promote a movie. Which is also completely understandable if actors don't stop. You are not owed an interaction).
Of course, you cannot help it if you randomly run into someone you admire in the wild. Even then, consider that they probably won't be all too thrilled to be approached in public by a complete stranger. It's up to you to gauge the situation, but remember there is a person at the heart of all of this.
Boundaries and respect are a kindness which deserves to be extended to each and every human being regardless of their looks/talent/fame/wealth.
Fandoms blur those lines a little too often for my liking and I think just scrutinising what you're interacting with, or what behaviour you could be possibly falling down that slippery slope towards is nice to do every once in a while.
I mean no malice with this post and it is not directed at anyone in particular. It's something I cannot help but feel strongly about because I've seen this destructive cycle time and again in fandoms over the years. It's not healthy and it makes us all a little bit more disconnected from our humanity for it...

This is the first time that I'm gonna talk about something else other than the Grishaverse but I can't hold back from saying
What the fuck is going on with the MCU??
They did not just cast Robert fucking Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom who is a Romani character. This is the second time it happens (*flashbacks from Wanda Maximoff's casting*). At this point Marvel has really exposed themselves as a cash-grabbing, racist company and OF COURSE they picked one of the biggest cash-grabbing, racist actors to play such a character. That racist piece of shit had flops ever since "Endgame" and crawled back to Marvel for easy money and roles that he doesn't even bother to act in since he just plays himself.
To all the Romani people that read this, I'm literally so sorry. This is a direct insult to your culture and it keeps happening again and again. You deserve so much better than this.

Sometimes one of your fandoms is getting new material and it means that you have to block the tags and hide your head in the sand for the sake of your mental health.

I'll never understand how some fans are so incredibly willing to just be okay with "it happened in a timeskip" to excuse bad writing lol. Like "oh yeah these two characters who have been enemies for like four seasons of a TV show had their entire reconciliation OFF SCREEN in the time skip between episodes right at the end so it works" or "oh yeah this character who was left basically broken had their entire growth and development where they came to terms with the thing that broke them in the time skip so it works" kind of stuff. Like that's literally the ENTIRE emotional climax of a story that's been building for a while and you're FINE with not getting to actually SEE IT???
Can't relate.

Did I enjoy the Teen Wolf movie? Nope. Am I feeling disappointed and unsettled and devastated and grief-stricken about many aspects of said movie? Yup. Am I going to rant with my friends in private about every single one of those things in great detail through a haze of tears and blinding rage? Absolutely. Am I going to direct any of those negative thoughts and feelings at the ACTORS by posting angry, bitter, rude, mean comments on their social media posts? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
DON'T BE A JERK, OH MY GOD. IT SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE SAID.

People have had two years to read the fucking comic and people still think Spider is going to be a villain. There truly is a media literacy problem in this country and it makes me so frustrated. The conclusions they are drawing have zero evidence in canon.

The SDR2 ending implies my favorite kind of tragi-hopeful narrative: that your actions to further hope and happiness are ultimately not enough against the apocalyptic moral death of society, but nonetheless, it is what must be done, and nonetheless, it's the right thing to do, and none the less, you do it, if only for the sake of it, if only for your own narrative and the *idea* that you can do good in the bad of the world. Because it's better than the alternative; apathy, or enablement.
In this essay I will-

being a digimon fan fuckin sucks when you have to wait all year for news and you get no news, then you wait again and get no news but a trailer for an announcement, not a trailer for anything tangible, just an announcement, and the date you're given is next year. and also you lost the main creative lead on the video games side of things with no news there either. hope you like the card game the same vpet recycled cos you aint getting shit ever.

i am not that much into the tog fandom so like, is there some actual news on the sequel or is it like officially never happening? djfldsjfl the first movie was so cool, but hasn't it been like ages when it come out ;n;
I'm probably not the best person to answer this?????
2 Old 2 Guard feels like it's in production limbo, I heard rumors of re-shoots that needed to happen and with the writers strike and everything going on my guess it kept getting pushed back
with HBO's recent tax cutoffs by straight up canceling already finished movies and Netflix doing the same (with a Halle Berry movie) I guess I don't have much hope
plus the whole cast is different with everything else
this happens a lot it just sucks its with a movie that I and a lot of people really connected with and loved
we make jokes to mask the pain
