so this was mostly hinata and bokuto's idea

they had just won a match in tokyo and they all wanted to wander a bit before going home

hinata sits in his bed, in the shared hotel room with bokuto and he mindlessly searches for things to do in tokyo

something had immediately caught his eye

"BOKUTO-SAN LOOK"

bokuto looks at his friends phone and is immediately agressively agreeing

the two knocked simultaneously on the door next door, where sakusa and atsumu currently resided

"oh my god your knocking is so loud what" sakusa says finally opening the door

"do you two want to come to disneyland??"

atsumu sits up from his bed his ears perking up, suddenly interested in the topic

"no-" "WERE GOING"

so sakusa practically got dragged by his teammates since shugo, shion, adriah, and oliver went out to go shopping

they all got tickets from the app and went on over to the amusement park

"WOAHHH LOOK AT THE CASTLE" bokuto shouts

"HINATA QUICK TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME AND GOOFY" atsumu and hinata runs towards the mascot, giggling and fumbling for their phones like idiots

sakusa is so dreading this moment, he has to deal with these people he calls his teammates and he also has to deal with crowds oof

id also like to think that they all got mickey and minnie headbands just bc

they first went to the haunted mansion, all of them weren't really scared but for some reason they kept pushing each other and almost made hinata trip

all of them then agreed to go get something eat

everyone got all sorts of things, jumping from cart to cart and restaurant to restaurant but so far, it seems like atsumu and bokuto were the ones that ate the most lmfao

atsumu was the usual, taking photos of his food before eating his last churro "so where to next??" he asked while chewing

they then headed to tomorrow land to ride space mountain because practically bokuto begged them to go even though they just ate

hinata and atsumu being dumb just said yes!!!!!! LETS GO

while sakusa was face palming

all of them were expectedly screaming and shouting from the force of the coaster itself

it was a speedy and flashy ride, everyone seemed to be enjoying it without any complications despite eating before hand

SO sakusa concluded that he's hanging out with a bunch of monsters with stomachs of steel

it was suddenly getting dark and they they were arguing on what to ride last

they eventually agreed on the alice in wonderland tea cups ride

sakusa wasn't worried, he only ate a little and they all monsters anyways so fuck it

they all got in the ride and as soon as the ride went, bokuto grabbed the steering wheel and turned it as fast as he can

"WHEEEEEEEEE" hinata puts his hands up

"W-W-W AIT A MINUTE-" atsumu grips the steering wheel to stop bokuto from spinning it

they were still spinning uncontrollably from the force but sakusa knew from this dude's face that he's gonna fucking puke

kiyoomi made a disgusted face as he watched atsumu clutch his stomach

the ride finally came to a stop and hinata was still cheering, unaware that his friend was near to puking his brains out

and then it happened

on sakusa's jacket none the less

sakusa just about died right there and then

"oh my g-"

"DONT SAY A WORD"

HE WAS FUMING

they got off the ride and sakusa immediately took off his jacket and took out wipes from his bag to clean himself off

he wanted to strangle the blonde so bad but he'll do it when he's clean

they all went back to hotel and sakusa took a long ass shower as hinata and bokuto told everyone anyways 🗿

all of their teammates bursted out laughing and it was dubbed the "tokyo disneyland incicedent"

Thinking about Hinata and how he grows so much more accustomed to casually showing affection through touch after being in Brazil for two years, to the point that it becomes second nature to him. So much so that when he goes back to Japan, he has to tell himself to hold back a little.

But after two years of kissing people on the cheek to say hello and goodbye, it has become second nature to him. Instinct almost. It's mindlessly, the way he leans his head just a little to the side and lifts up his cheek to the air, expecting the overly exaggerated mwah sound to hit his ear, accompanied by a friendly peck on his face when his friends all start to bid each other goodbye. But it doesn't come, and before anyone can even see his awkward stance, Hinata is retreating back, more aware of his surroundings now.

Except that, when he is really tired, this realization doesn't come as soon as it should.

So, after a late night training session with MSBY that turned into a even later night training session with Atsumu, Bokuto and Sakusa, he can barely keep his eyes open, let alone make his brain poperly function. It's sluggish, the way he sling his bag over his shoulder and start to make way to each his friends and teammates. Hinata moves slowly and lightly, a barely there peck when he bids each of them goodbye.

Surprisingly, Atsumu doesn't react instantly. He just stands there frozen, a pink dusting his cheeks as he tries to process what happend. Sakusa looks...appalled, brain still shortcircuiting from the moment he saw Hinata stand on his tiptoes to reach his face. Bokuto is a giggly blush mess, whipping his head widly between the other two, as if to ask them: "what just happened?". All three are speechless, obviously being caught off guard by the kiss, just watching his figure lazily retreating out of the MSBY Gym.

Then realization hits Hinata like a freight train. His footsteps come to a halt, and he stands still, lettint it fully sink in for a second before turning back to his friends, frantically trying to explain himself.

So, when Hinata leaves for Asas São Paulo years later, it becomes a bit hard to explain to the newly hired team members why the team's main setter and two of the OH keep greeting each other with cheek kisses.

life, as expected, is chaotic. which is why there are evenings like these.

relationships, just as anything else in the world, take effort. they take dedication and commitment; an unwavering promise to make time for each other.

"uno!" you call. sakusa huffs and rolls his eyes.

"it's about time you win a round," he smirks, placing a card, "i've been getting tired of winning."

once a week, he had told you. at least once a week, the two of you were to push aside all responsibilities and forget about the world for a few hours. once a week, you were to dedicate time to each other, whether that be at an expensive venue with lobster pasta, or here in your home, over cheap wine and takeout.

"oh, fuck you," you joke, "you're such a sore winner. that's like the worst kind of person."

he shrugs, reaching to the edge of the rug to take a sip of his red wine, a lazy, comfortable grin tugging at his lips, "hurry up and win, so i can beat you in the next round."

he looks good like this, you think; his hair flat and stringy from the shower, a wet glow on his skin from the condensation. you smile at the socks he's wearing, vibrant colors standing out against his black sweatpants, legs crossed as you play card games on the rug in the living room.

"sore winner!" you call, reaching over to jab a finger against his sternum, "you don't have to shit-talk me!"

he chuckles softly, his shoulders shaking with the motion, "you're so easy to rile up," he teases, collecting the cards and beginning to shuffle them, "it's quite hard not to fuck with you. just a little bit."

"you're an ass."

"hey now, let's use our nice words."

you shove a forkful of his pad thai in your mouth, flipping him off.

"you're gonna regret that," he warns playfully, dealing out two sets of seven cards and placing the deck between the two of you.

"why? what are you gonna do, huh?" you flip a card over, starting the game again. loser goes first (due to your complaints), so kiyoomi puts a card down.

"because you're about to loose so fucking hard."

"shut up and play the damn game." you slam down a card, sassing him with your eyes.

"you asked for it," he sighs, feigning pity, "reverse to me, reverse to me, skip you, uno," he says, laying card after card, "and uno out."

your jaw drops. throwing his head back, kiyoomi laughs at your expression. there's no real way to describe it-- his laugh. it's thick like syrup, the deep baritones bringing a blanket a warmth over your body. this sound; this melody. god, you could live in it forever. briefly, you wonder if the room got brighter.

"cheater!" you screech, pointing an accusing finger towards him, "you were swapping cards while dealing."

"i did no such thing," he gives you an unimpressed look, "you're just bad at uno."

shocked at his bluntness, you act in the only way you can.

you pounce on him.

kiyoomi's reflexes, as expected, are damn near godly, and he's fully prepared for your full-scale attack. hearts tender and bellies full, you roll around on the rug, wresting without a real reason.

by the time it's over, you're pinned on the rug, hands held above your head and damp curls brushing your forehead. breathless and a little sweaty, you still have some fight left in you.

"nobody wins five games of uno in a row unless they were cheating."

"oh yeah?" with one hand still pinning both your wrists, he picks a ball of lint from your hairline, giggling. it's a completely childish giggle that feels like a punch in the gut, the realization of how happy he is with you. he grins, "it was six times, actually."

"you're literally proving my point."

he places a soft kiss between your eyebrows, "will it make you happy if i say i cheated?"

"yes," you declare boldly from your very vulnerable position.

"too bad," he says, "you lost, fair and square."

before you can argue back, kiyoomi swoops down, his lips catching yours in a deep kiss, swallowing whatever rebuttal you would give him. his hands release your wrists, your hands instantly curling into his hair, and sakusa's arms nearly turn to jelly at your touch. pulling back, his chocolate eyes peer into yours, a light blush coming to his face.

"you're my best friend." he whispers, "i love you."

it's rare that sakusa exposes himself; it's such a treat when he lays himself bare, presenting his heart to you without a cage surrounding it. caressing his face in your hands, kiyoomi turns his head to kiss your palm.

"and i love you," you smile, "even though you cheat at uno."

he chuckles, laying his head in the junction between your neck and shoulder, laughing into the soft skin there.

"well," he says, words slightly muffled, "aren't i lucky, then?" soft lips kiss your neck.

his hand drops to pinch your side. he laughs again when you squeal.

♧ smells really warm, like cinnamon. sometimes cinnamon apples. it's funny because he doesn't even like those. he doesn't hate them, but he doesn't like it either. he simply enjoys their scent.

♧ is so so bad at taking care of plants. he first got the idea of getting some plants after seeing them on tiktok all arranged in a lovely way, brightening up even the most dull rooms and hinata being himself bought a whole load of plants that caught his eye only for them to die one by one. he did everything he could, fertilizer, more water, less water, different types of soil, more sun, less sun, different genres of music - he even sang to one of them - only for them to wilt regardless.

♧ definitely sings while bathing. you cannot convince me otherwise. he does.

♧ likes lollipops. he's very aware that it's horrible for his diet, it's really just sugar and unhealthiness on a stick, but he can't help it. his favorite are cola flavored lollipops, followed by really milky strawberry or chocolate ones.

♧ summer is his favorite time of the year. he likes wearing sleeveless shirts, not only because they show off his arms, but also because it exposes more of his skin to the sun and he's fond of how sunshine feels on him. plus, there's also an increase in the number of people playing beach volleyball.

♧ i'm sorry, but he 100% has unironically had a live, laugh, love frame hanging in his room at some point during his high school days. one time, he let the karasuno volleyball team into his room and they quickly spotted it. tsukishima, kageyama, nishinoya, and tanaka were quick to tease him about it, and sugawara and daichi were quick to shut it down. hinata couldn't be happier about their presence at that very moment. still very embarrassed though, especially when he reunites with tobio in japan and he asks him about it -- whether he still has it or not.

♧ has a habit of trying different flavors of ramune and he always keeps the bottles. he thinks it's all too cute to get rid of.

♧ holds on to things when he sleeps, whether that's a loose grip on his pillow, a stuffed toy, a blanket, his significant other, hell, even his clothing. he just finds it impossible not to do it in his unconscious state.

♧ wants to join tv shows like american ninja warrior -- after all, he is ninja shoyo.

♧ tried to keep a dream journal and update it regularly, but at some point, he just forgot to use it.

♧ the pride and joy of msby black jackals whenever they go to a bar to celebrate a win and it's open mic night. he gets lost in the song he's singing but still manages to put on a performing of a lifetime, drunk and all.

♧ sketches random shit a lot. like his notebooks back in high school and middle school were literally just sketchbooks. no notes from class, only random doodles of random things.
