BELLUM. birthday girl !!! I'm officially super old (... 30, I'm 30)

Mom took me, my brother, and my cousin to a ramen shop about 40-ish minutes away that my cousin and her fiance have been to ... it was gorgeous and the food is incredible so we'll definitely be back ! I got their "niku ni" ramen with grilled chicken, chashu pork, corn, mushrooms, green onions, and boiled egg ... and a glass of plum wine even tho I don't usually drink in the daytime, cuz it's my birthday and I wanted to try it (was DELICIOUS)

the shop had FOUR different TVs playing anime and the one playing MHA was playing the fight between Hawks and Jin and Dabi so I am. emotionally compromised. but then I took a picture with their fake cherry blossom and fairy light tree !

then we went to Crumbl for the first time and my birthday dessert was a "skillet cookie" which was. AMAZING. messy but amazing

then we went to Panda Express cuz I've never had it and got some takeout to heat up for dinner

also I wore my Dabi shirt that I got in the comfort character care box of him I bought ! the design is cute and it's so soft

I have long since ripped my fake nails off and wiped my lipstick off and changed into a tank top BUT IT'S BEEN A GOOD DAY

Mom got me a blanket, a travel cup, and crystals that both she and my brother picked out

now am tired but happy, I don't feel any older yet but I'm sure it'll kick in soon haha

I’m back home and feeling like my legs are about to collapse, but had fun at Disneyland even though tickets costed over a hundred dollars even for a day and it was actually pretty hot, surrounded by screaming kids that were putting their mouths on railings that had been touched by hundreds everyday. The last part is expected though, but look! I met the Mandalorian and Grogu.

Fo my friends who are children of Asian Immigrants born outside of that country:

I have a lot of Asian friends but they all only have one name as far as I know. However, children born in the third generation of my family have both an English name and Viet name (We're Canadian/US).

I'm just curious to see how widespread this practice is 🤔...

Bonus: Put your country of birth and what generation you're in in the tags :)!

I want to know for sure that this is not just something that happens in English speaking countries... Also I just wanna know if this is a generational thing or if my family just does something funny

#For the record me and my brother were technically born second generation (though I do feel like a third generation immigrant lol)#My cousins are third generation though and I know they both have Viet names along with English names #Well kinda. One of them has a Spanish name haha #My name technically works for both English and Viet but it sucks honestly my mom made it spelled all weird #I don't like it anymore lol I actually crossed out some letters in my name tag at work BC I don't want kids pronouncing it wrong #My brother does have a name that's hard to say in English tho #I feel so bad for him too BC most people can't repeat it if someone says it out loud #poll #mun rambles #Idk how to word it which is funny BC I'm Asian but it's ok I just hope I get some insight lol
