Back with the music of the week guys; this week it’s dance anthems and I couldn’t pick 4 so here’s 5!!!! (I couldn’t trim them down to 4, you’ll see why if you give them a listen). Although my raving days are over I still like a lil improv dance to dnb, house, etc, or just a good beat to accompany my day. Anyways: here we go…
First is a British collaboration from a pop/d’n’b, the DJ newbie - Venbee and seasoned mixer - goddard, with this anti-drug anthem.
VENBEE X GODDARD - MESSY IN HEAVEN
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Next we have my current favourite, purely, because it just kicks ass and drives me to have that swag in my walk which everyone loves. A tingly build up and an immense drop…LISTEN!
LUUDE & MATTAFIX - BIG CITY LIFE
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Okay I know I said the last track was my favourite out of this weeks list but this comes close with it’s pure raging emotion and attachment to my heart. Sure to be your new jam, (could listen on repeat for months).
SILENCE
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I first heard this driving round the city in the passenger seat of my dads minivan, I always think of him when I listen to it and if you get a chance to watch the music video, it’s great, it is definitely worth the watch.
RUDIMENTAL - WAITING ALL NIGHT
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I couldn’t leave this song out because I’m not sure when I’m going to be covering the dance genre again but this is the first dance track that I was happy to play over and over again, loved it, cheer up and dance people!
DJ FRESH - GOLD DUST

Wasteland baby! is the most under appreciated of the Hozier albums and truly what an album to be released just before the pandemic what a song to release before the pandemic. During an uncertain time an album about not being alone in a wasteland the way most of the songs are about devotion, to the point of fault, to the point of personal harm, to the point of manipulation, about doing everything to be with this person even when it's detrimental to you both or even when it's a person you've made up in your head, in a year when we couldn’t go out and see each other. Hozier releases an album that puts the yearning for love in the loneliness of the pandemic into words a full year before the pandemic even happened and we don’t even really talk about it and that should be a crime.
True that love in withdrawal was the weepin' of me
That the sound of the saw must be known by the tree
god imagine hearing that in a pandemic and not going insane.
in this essay, I will-

it's immensely funny to me how andrew lloyd webber read this passage from the book and was like yeah the journey down to the phantom's lair is this really breathtaking magical gondola ride where christine is just captivated by the strange and fantastical beauty of it all (see below)
when in the novel they're both like in a rowboat in the dark with christine scared out of her mind and confused as hell while erik is paddling like he's out for an extreme day of fishing and just staring christine down for the entire duration of the journey without blinking once . like mind you his eyes quite literally GLOW in the DARK and he's just fucking staring into her soul and silently rowing and probably not even breathing like

idea:
vampire pete and ybcpatrick au
pete is kidnapped by the Vixens cult, he's The Music Guy of the Chicago hardcore scene and he's got a little too close to figuring out their operation
patrick is an experiment of the Vixens, a kid born from locally famous musicians that they kidnapped and brainwashed into a yellow-eyed, hook handed, violent monster
the Vixens are working to see if the same brainwashing would effect Pete since he is nonhuman, but it doesnt work
the brainwashing in patrick is failing, the Vixens notice this and vocally plan to kill the two of them, which Pete overhears.
Pete shares this plan to Patrick and the two have to work together to break out before they kill them

This week I’m a bit late for my music of the week but here I am guys; this week it’s sad songs to make you feel even more melancholic than you were already, READ ON.
Kicking if this weeks music of the week we have the king of murder ballads and if you want to feel sadly passionate any time of day I highly recommend
NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS - O CHILDREN
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Next is probably the most known of this weeks 4 tracks but definitely a personal favourite regardless, the singer of this version sadly died a death caused by drowning, R.I.P.
Search: Jeff Buckley - ‘Hallelujah’
JEFF BUCKLEY - HALLELUJAH
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Sorry (not sorry), I can’t help but leave Oasis out of my songs of the week but here’s a classic for you anyway, (excuse my Mancunian roots).
OASIS - SAD SONG
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Going back further than my Mancunian roots we have my Irish roots and here’s a tune from the legendary group from said country and probably one of my most adored musicians.
Search: The Dubliners - ‘Fields of Athenry’ (for the original.)
THE DUBLINERS - FIELDS OF ATHENRY

i see a lot of debate on komaeda’s music taste, and i want you all to consider a komaeda that exclusively listens to classical music.
he doesn’t know what’s popular or mainstream, you pass him the aux chord and he starts playing shostakovich like it’s lady gaga. bed time? he puts on his night gown and cap and starts blasting prokofiev’s dance of the knights. class 77-b throws a party and everyone knows that komaeda added a song to the playlist because coriolan overture starts playing in the middle of rave music and he’s giggling and clapping his hands talking about how it represents despair vs hope
