BH6 Snippets--8/30/2024

We've finally broken 400 pages on the sequel to (Not So) Hated by Life Itself, friends \.o./

So after doing up a fresh outline I still ended up shuffling some stuff around, including putting "Fear Not" after "Fate of the Roommates"--was a little stuck on what to do for that episode until I moved it.

Moving on, have Obake and Hiro discussing the Simmax, among other things.

“Obake!” Hiro called, running down the hall for him.  “The skeletons are back!” “It might be less fuss to tell Wasabi he’s starring in Jason and the Argonauts,” Obake mused as Hiro skidded up to him. “I figured it was Spy Kids 2,” Hiro said, plopping down next to him. “That movie got it from Jason and the Argonauts.”  Glance at Hiro when he slid over and flopped against Obake’s shoulder.  “Can I help you?” “We still have skeletons in Simmax,” Hiro said.  “And the last time we let you wander off and be moody by yourself you tried to take on the big problems by yourself.” “Pardon me for not wanting to involve children in dangerous situations.” “Oh look, we’re doing it now, the argument is invalid, I win.” “That’s not the point—” “What is the point, then?” Oi vey.  “I’m not sure you appreciate how dangerous this is.” “The guy did try to destroy the city, pretty sure I have an idea,” Hiro said, apparently not feeling Obake’s eyes on him, waiting for the realization that that same person was sitting next to him, only this time he wasn’t inclined to wipe a city out on a whim.  “And that’s why we’re training, it’s—if we’re ready for it, then it isn’t so scary.  Like learning how to swim in case you fall off a boat.” “Depending on where you fall off the boat, the swimming is just postponing the inevitable.” “You’re weird, you know that right?” “I do, but this is more that discussion we had on why sailors thought it was bad luck to swim.” “Ah right.”  Frown a little like he was trying for a better metaphor.  “Studying for a test that we’re worried about?” “SFIT tests don’t usually end in death.” “Usually, he says.” “Do you want to find out what happens if you fail Granville?” “Which reminds me, we have to help Wasabi not fail her.  Any idea what keeps borking the system?” Dismiss the terrifying idea, that he had learned of the base already and was toying with them—he’d double-check to be certain, shore up the security and…okay fine he saw Hiro’s point.  “Have we tried doing anything else with the simulator?  We could cycle through and see about narrowing down where the problem is.” “Or see if Wasabi’s okay with giving a lecture to a bunch of Temtem.” “Guys!” Fred bellowed down the hall—yelped as he was dragged back in.  “We’re fighting the skeletons from Jason and the Argonauts!” “See?” Obake asked.  “I was right.” “Think we ought to help them?” Hiro asked. “If we leave them Wasabi might view the lecture as less of an issue.”  Noticed Hiro raising an eyebrow at him.  “All right, all right, we’ll see what the hiccup is this time.” “Good,” Hiro said, dragging him upright and down the hall.  “Except maybe we take a few minutes to fight the skeletons, that could be fun.” “Of course.”

Fred's studying film at SFU so of course he'd be more familiar with Jason and the Argonauts. And after Dexit Hiro started trying a lot of different monster capture games including but not limited to Temtem, Nexomon, and Palworld.

Favorite games? What are you currently playing?

My favorite game series of all time is Pokémon mystery dungeon, and there's also: Plants Vs. Zombies, Slime Rancher, Terraria, Spore, Castle Crashers, Yume Nikki, Puyo Tetris/Tetris 99, Pixel Gladiator, and since it's got the most hours clocked, Realm of the Mad God (tho i haven't played that in years.) games i haven't played but still enjoy immensely include Bendy and the ink machine, Super Meat Boy, and Battleblock Theatre. The Messenger holds a special place in my heart, and I'm pretty involved in the fandom however; my husband moderates the official server. It's a fantastic platformer with tons of lore.

and, obviously, any games that my muses are from take up my headspace rent free, so those’re probably my favorite favorite?

Lately, I've been playing lots of Feed and Grow: Fish, as well as Risk of Rain 2. I've played a liiiil bit of New Pokémon Snap, but need to do more tbh. I also recently finished the Cadence of Hyrule demo which i then 100%ed with my husband; his rhythm-lacking ass actually wants to try beating Crypt sometime now- my friends're on a PayDay 2 kick lately, so I've been joining here and there. I play Beat Saber occasionally when i feel that i need some extra physical activity.

I plan on playing Noita, Story of Seasons Olive Town, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Carrion, Nexomon, Flinthook, Miitopia, Undermine, 3 Houses, and more.......sometime jdskflsfk;lfs

There’s a soft moan as a large hand was pressed against his forehead indicating that the Prince wasn’t feeling his greatest. How Ardyn got word of it so quickly Novus didn’t know nor care, but at least someone was here with him now. “I don’t feel so great…” the eight-year-old murmured glancing up at the other. His statement was quickly followed by a small sneeze before his head laid back against the pillow until the boy bolted upright with a concerned expression. 

“The match! I forgot about the match!” The match he was speaking of was online in his Nexomon game, one that he’d trained his team for the past week to compete against his friends after school today. There were stakes involved too. The winner got to have 1,000 diamonds transferred to their account which was quite a bit of currency for a kid. 

Swinging his legs over the edge of his bed, Novus visually searched his room for his gaming system as he moved around. “I gotta get online and see if anybody is on yet! Where is it? It’s gotta be around here someplace!”
