I have two hyperfixations that are pretty connected. Like, I see something that reminds me of one of them, which then flares that back up into an obsession, and then I fall into the other one again.

This doesn't seem that weird, but then I explain that it's Pathologic and Mystery of the Druids and suddenly people don't get it anymore.

It's because I was introduced to both of them by my older sibling through video essays very soon after each other and I rewatch the video essays one after the other pretty often?

Anyway, point is Tumblr keeps recommending me more Mystery of the Druids posts and I keep getting kicked back down the hole of hyperfixation.

And now I'm trying not to reference either of the games just in typing this lmaoooo

I know people have kinda moved on from the longlegs gender topic but the heated discourse surrounding Dale's gender was always so incredibly interesting and funny to me. Like the initial criticism that he was offensive to trans women, trans women saying "we don't claim him" and calling him an ugly cis man (amazing + hilarious btw), osgood perkins wholeheartedly rejecting the whole trans idea in his AMA and then nicolas cage saying in an interview that he literally sees Dale as genderless like....

all so hysterical to watch. because as an actual agender person!! who is v sick of all our representation in media being aliens and robots, Dale's lack of gender was so incredibly obvious to me from the very start even with he/him pronouns n everyone referring to him as a man lmao. and yeah sorry I will absolutely claim him as representation if no one else will HAHA I rlly don't care that he's an ugly gross satanic murderer who lives in a basement. he's interesting and funny. one of us.

We need to stop sanitizing spaces that are meant to be weird. this goes out mostly to the queer community. the word queer literally means strange or unusual. we are SUPPOSED to be different. you do not have the right to claim that you are "queer" and then shit on the people in your own community because they're weird and different. sometimes people's labels overlap and dont make sense. sometimes people dress weird. sometimes people have weird interests. sometimes people have weird kinks. sometimes people have relationships that go against traditional standards (hence the whole idea of being queer in the first place.) sometimes people are ugly. sometimes people are old. sometimes people are just fucking weirdo freaks and thats the whole beauty of it!!!!! if you, as a gay person, have the audacity to make fun of the "cringe" gays, whether that be because they use xenogenders, they dress in bright colors, they like stupid things, they're furries or attracted to objects or whatever the fuck, they're simply having fun and being themselves and NOT HURTING ANYONE,,,,,,,, then you do not belong in queer spaces. because queer spaces are safe spaces. the people that faught for your right to be here today were sick freaks and that will continue on for every generation of queer people. if you want the right to let queerness exist, then you need to get over yourself and let ALL queerness exist. case closed.
