just saw my friend who speaks french and told her about my list of favorite french words to pronounce and as soon as she asked for examples i forgot all of them except ensemencement. so i was like, okay get this: ensemencement. expecting her to be like, never heard of it. but she was like, ensemencement! and i said, it's an insanely fantastic word but it probably doesn't come up in the wild in conversation like at all frequently :( because how often is it necessary to talk about the act of sowing seeds if you're not a farmer? and she was like well it was necessary to me. i used it for sure. and that's when i remembered that she was in france specifically to get a science degree which involved reading agriculture textbooks in french so yeah. without even meaning to i found the one american who already has a relationship with the french word ensemencement. serendipity.

If you’re so disillusioned with who Taylor is as a person and believes she’s changed for the worse, why are you still here as a fan? If you believe her “activism” isn’t up to your standards, are tired of her not using her platform, see her as an uncaring and callous billionaire, why are you still here and engaging in fan spaces if you’re no longer enjoying her and her work? Just disengaging completely if that’s the case; find something or someone else to pour your time and energy into.

That post that's like, talking about a real phenomena in fandom spaces but then ends with a screenshot of someone saying that fandom got bad when "normies" got into fandom during COVID lockdown has been driving me nuts. Why are so many people reblogging it. Like yes there are things that used to be more common in fandom I miss but almost every post like this is just blatantly ahistorical to make fandom seem like some magical safe haven that outsiders are invading. I wish I could form more coherent thoughts on this but jfc the weird superiority some fandom folks have over non fandom folks is baffling

@goldensmilingbird i'm SO very happy that you asked who are them. so
Rolo (or Curly) and Tina respectively, they're characters from Mauricio de Sousa, creator of Monica's gang. They were created in the 70s initially as hipsters, when Mauricio wanted teen characters for his comics, since all of his characters have been children so far. So, since the 70s, they have been following the trends of the teenagers of each decade, and Tina got her own universe, stories and other characters inside Monica's gang, which is called Tina's gang (turma da tina, wow originality lmao)
they got a lot of revamps since then, and today they're young adults (like 19-21) instead of teenagers. in 2007, they got a trilogy where they + 2 friends (Pipa and Zecão, idk their names in english) travel Brasil and the World living adventures for their university, since Tina's studying to become a news reporter. it's very fun and where most of my screenshots from them are from, bc the people behind this teased Rolo/Tina SO MUCH and why i started shipping them. they're cute i SWEAR
today, a lot of things changed again (i mean, almost 2 decades since 2007) and i believe the teasings of Rolo/Tina stopped, and they keep on being good friends as they were originally intended. it's just me and the 2000s tinolo shippers against the world
