hehe so farms have barns and barns have barn cats 😌 do you have any cole + kittens/cats thoughts?

a/n: the cat lover in me came out with this one! thank you for requesting and i hope you enjoy this!

oooh! definitely!

cole is such a big animal lover but he's such a big softie for cats especially. whenever he's doing chores around the farm he has these 3 kittens who love to follow him around in the early hours of the morning. and he always looks over his shoulder with a small smile to see if they're still following him after a few minutes or to make sure he doesn't step on them. he can be a bit clumsy at times and his heart always aches whenever he does step on an animal's paw accidentally.

when he has to milk the cows in the barn, every once in awhile one of his favorite cats, a black and white one will prowl in. sometimes even the momma cat will bring her kittens in too and he'll squirt the milk in a tiny little bowl and spoil the cats. and he adores getting to watch them gather around the bowl and watching them drink it and play together.

once he found out that all of the cats around his farm aren't going anywhere. one day, while he's at the store he decides to get cat and kitten food and almost every morning before he does his chores, he feeds them on the front porch and talks in a baby voice, encouraging them to eat. "come here, come here, buddy." he coos, watching them eagerly eat before he goes to start his regular routine for the day.

I feel like there comes a point that his family, mainly his sister and his dad start to tease him about it. his sister will always tease him, saying he's turned into a 'cat lady'. but he just shrugs it off. he doesn't care, he just adores all of them too much.

oh oh! and he's definitely going to keep the window open in his bedroom on the cool summer nights. he sleeps on the the second floor of the barn house and his room has a tiny little balcony so in the middle of the night, a few of the older cats will crawl in through the window and sleep on top of the blankets. and when he wakes up in the morning, he smiles at the fact that one or two of them are sleeping on top of his stomach.

when he starts dating you for a month or so, he eventually invites you over to the farm, showing all the things he does daily before he introduces you to most of the cats. And your heart melts at the cute little nicknames he's given them like, pepper, buddy, ginger, and midnight. the two of you sit down on the ground, despite it being a little bit muddy and just sit and pet the cats, cuddling them.
