On this date in music History, and thanks again to Kati for being with us yesterday and today…
August 17th
2009 - Pink Floyd
A thief in New Zealand took the unusual step of leaving his contact details at the site of his crime. The man reserved a copy of Pink Floyd's The Wall at a record shop in Christchurch, leaving his name and phone number, before robbing the till. He was a regular customer at the shop and already had several records on order.
2008 - Jackson Browne
Jackson Browne was suing US Republican presidential candidate John McCain for using one of his songs without permission. Browne claimed the use of his song Running on Empty in an advert was an infringement of copyright and would lead people to conclude he endorses McCain. Browne was seeking more than $75,000 (£40,000) in damages.
1999 - Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin topped a chart of Britain's most bootlegged musicians, compiled by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), after identifying 384 bootleg titles featuring Led Zeppelin performances. The bootleg chart was complied from the BPI's archive of some 10,000 recordings seized over the past 25 years. The Beatles came in second with 320 entries, other acts listed included The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd.
1987 - Gary Chester
Session drummer Gary Chester died of cancer. He had been a member of The Coasters and played on many major hits for other acts including: 'Brown Eyed Girl' 'Under The Boardwalk' 'Walk On By', 'It's My Party.'
1979 - Anita Pallenberg
The New York Post reported that Anita Pallenberg (the wife of Keith Richards) was linked to a witches coven in South Salem, New York where Richards owned a house. A policeman claimed he was attacked by a flock of black-hooded, caped people and a local youth claimed he had been invited by Pallenburg to take part in ‘pot smoking sex orgies’. Locals also claimed they found ‘ritualistic stakes’ and small animals that had been ‘sacrificed’ near the house.
1974 - Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton started a four-week run at No.1 on the US album chart with 461 Ocean Boulevard, a No.3 hit in the UK. The house featured on the album cover is 461 Ocean Boulevard in the town of Golden Beach, Florida near Miami where Clapton lived while making the album.
1973 - Paul Williams
Former Temptations singer Paul Williams was found dead in his car, after shooting himself. He owed $80000 in taxes and his celebrity boutique business had failed.
1969 - Woodstock Festival
The final day of the 3 day Woodstock Festival took place at Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, New York. Acts who appeared included Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Ten Years After, John Sebastian, Sha Na Na, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish, The Band, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter and Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Over 186,000 tickets had been sold but on the first day the flimsy fences and ticket barriers had come down. Organisers announced the concert would be a free event, prompting thousands more to head for the concert.
1968 - Young Rascals
The Rascals (formerly the Young Rascals), started a five week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'People Got To Be Free'. The group had thirteen US top 40 hits.
1965 - The Byrds
The Byrds were forced to cancel a concert during their UK tour at The Guildhall, Portsmouth when only 250 of the 4,000 tickets had been sold.
1960 - The Beatles
The Beatles began their first Hamburg engagement at the Indra Club, Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg, West Germany, playing the first of 48 nights at the Club. The owner, Bruno Koschmider, asked The Beatles to "Mach Shau", or really put on a show, which led to the band screaming, shouting, and leaping about the stage and sometimes playing lying on the floor. John Lennon once appeared wearing only his underwear and on another occasion, wearing a toilet seat around his neck. The Beatles lodged in a single room behind the screen of a nearby movie house.
1959 - Miles Davis
American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis released Kind of Blue which is regarded by many critics as jazz's greatest record, Davis's masterpiece, and one of the best albums of all time. Its influence on music, including jazz, rock, and classical genres, has led writers to also deem it one of the most influential albums ever recorded.
1955 - Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley released what would become his first No.1 hit, 'I Forgot to Remember to Forget / Mystery Train'. It hit the top of the country charts several months later and stayed there for 5 weeks.

My Policeman Screening - Part 1
Let me start by saying these are comments from a friend who attended tonight’s screening. I haven’t seen the film. I’m just going to give you their commentary as they gave it to me. This is their initial message to me when the came out of the theater:
The movie just finished. IT’S FUCKING GORGEOUS I’m like shaking, it was so beautiful. I’m SO PROUD!! That’s what a performance with a competent director and supportive costars looks like, holy shit!!!
And DAVID FUCKING DAWSON!! EMMA!! And they kept Julia 😭😭😭
Just know I heard people being asked by staff what they thought and EVERYONE around me said EXCELLENT.
This is LONG. So long I have to split it into at least two posts. I’ll put everything under the cut for those who don’t want to see spoilers. And when I say spoilers, I mean it. This is pretty much scene by scene.
Harry gets the first billing on his own. So it opens on a beautiful shot of the water then it his name and then the title of the movie. 🥺🥺🥺 A true leading man!! I was already so proud to see that. Then everyone else gets billing during the opening shots of Patrick arriving.
Okay, from what I can remember in order: It opens with the older Tom and Marion at their home just as Patrick is being brought in from his assisted living facility. Older Tom immediately takes their dog out for a walk while Marion adjusts everything for Patrick in his new room.
She places a picture of her and Tom from their wedding day on a dresser facing the bed so Patrick sees it when he first lies down. Cue the first scream from these girls in the audience who would not stop their constant talking and  giggling because we saw a picture of Harry and Emma posed. 🙄🙄🙄
So it does begin with the older versions of the three. The difference from the book is that Marion is not writing a letter. A box of Patrick’s old things gets delivered and his diary is included. So she actually finds the diary and that’s what initiates a lot of the flashback sequences.
Tom is off walking the dog, Marion is trying to make Patrick comfortable. And then the first flashback is the scene on the beach with where Harry was wearing the blue shorts and vest.
Tumblr media
Marion is sitting with Sylvie when Tom comes over. Sylvie’s part is drastically cut from the novel, so you don’t see her getting pregnant or married. She doesn’t tell Marion (or hint rather) that he’s gay like she does in the novel. You only see her in that opening scene to introduce the younger selves and then she teases Marion and tells Tom she doesn’t know how to swim.
Then Sylvie runs off with her boyfriend but we never see her again, she’s just referenced one other time.
They changed this bit from the novel too. Tom tells Marion he’ll teach her but he takes her to a public swimming pool full of families. So it’s a very cute and light scene with up tempo 50s music included. There’s a brief slow mo shot of Tom swimming and Marion being infatuated of course, to imply she’s already falling for him. The parents from the novel are cut too, no scenes with them. When Marion and Tom meet on the beach, he tells her there he just got back from the service and he’s already a Policeman. And she’s already a teacher.
Like the novel, they get to know each other by the swimming lessons and Tom says she must love books if she’s a teacher. He asks her if she knows about Art, she says a bit and there’s a sweet scene where she takes him to a library and they just sit in silence while he’s earnestly reading about an artist he found out about.
He asks her if he’d like to go to a museum since he knows someone that she can talk to about art. Enter younger Patrick.
And omg…when I tell you David Dawson was perfect. EVERYONE was perfect, especially the younger trio. But when I tell you the younger three has the BEST chemistry. And David instantly captivated me. What a presence!
So this is where Tom introduces Marion and Patrick for the first time.
Patrick asks if they would like to attend a play and Marion says sure. But as they’re walking out, Marion says something about attending (I didn’t catch it) but Tom says they can decline Patrick’s offer if she really doesn’t want to go. Marion says no, they should go since she doesn’t want to hurt Patrick’s feelings.
So this is when they go on their first outing as a group. And omg, they’re all so lovely together. If I didn’t know what was coming, I could’ve just watched them be silly as sing together while in a bar. David and Emma both have BEAUTIFUL voices!!
There’s a montage of the three in a bar, then driving together into the countryside for a picnic. Harry sings along with them but (and maybe this was a deliberate decision by the filmmakers) but you hear David and Emma’s voices over his. This montage of their outings is when you start to see the dynamic play out. In the theater, they sit MARION, PATRICK, TOM In the bar, Tom and Patrick grab each other to sign before Marion joins them. In the car going into the country, she’s sitting in the back while Patrick is driving and Tom is sitting up from with him 😭😭😭
Between the younger flashbacks, it did go back to the present. Older Tom stays away from older Patrick completely. Older Marion gives older Patrick his bath/meals/pills and reads his diary (unbeknownst to him).
As in the novel, older Patrick’s his mobility and speech are severely impaired. Rupert Everett gave a wonderful but heartbreaking performance.
The first entry Marion reads is the night Tom went to Patrick’s apartment to have his portrait drawn. So this differed from the novel too!
Those photos we got of Harry in costume with a bag and smoking a cigarette sitting on the beach happen right before he goes to Patrick’s apartment for the drawing session. His uniform is in the bag and, like the novel, he tells Patrick he brought it in case he wants him to wear it for the portrait. Patrick says yes, tells him to change they start.
Tumblr media
They talk briefly, Patrick asks why he wanted to be a policeman. Tom says to help people, to which Patrick replies that’s how he differs from other cops. Tom questions him and Patrick says he keeps his distance because not all are like that. Then Tom gets defensive, he sits up straighter and gets this very almost robotic look (or more militarized) and says something like “the police only seek out criminal offences and take appropriate actions when they’re committed”
Patrick offers him a drink right away to change the subject. And then it cuts to them relaxed, Patrick is wearing Tom’s jacket and hat pretending to be a cop and making Tom laugh.
Tom says Patrick will probably think he’s a drunkard for having 3 scotches but Patrick says cops deserve to have fun after they clock out.So they both relax on the couch. And start talking. And this is where my mind glitched Because Gina 🥺🥺🥺
Okay…I swear to god this happened and I KNOW it happened because Patrick has a line about it and this fan I talked to after (that I’m 100% sure was a larrie because she mentioned it too)…The fan mentioned it.
You know that clip of the boys that everyone credits with turning them into a larrie? When Louis pushes his arm back because Harry just uses two fingers or so to stroke his arm
Okay, so in the SCENE Tom and Patrick are sitting on the same couch but a little bit always from each other cause they’re manspreading but Tom has his arm outstretched towards Patrick. So Patrick is kind of talking and then Tom just delicately, WITH THOSE SAME TWO FINGERS I’VE WATCHED OVER AND OVER AGAIN just slightly strokes Patrick’s neck. And my mind immediately went blank because I’VE SEEN HARRY DO THAT BEFORE.
but when I tell you my heart rate sped up because it was so gentle like some of the touches between Louis and Harry used to be.
Wtf wtf wtf. IDK, IMM ACTUALLY ONLY PROCESSING IT NOW AS I’M TELLING IT TO YOU.
So of course Patrick pauses. And Tom pauses. Then Patrick just goes for it. So they don’t have multiple sittings for the drawing, they put the blowjob scene here!
Tom initially says he’s “not like that” and Patrick dismisses it and goes for the kiss. And it’s so sweet and tentative before he gets down on his knees in front. You get a shot from behind the couch/Tom’s head then you just get Harry’s beautiful acting as he falls apart.
SUCK MY DICK OLIVIA WILDE. We need more QUEER pleasure represented on our screens. But I digress. 🤣
Then it cuts to Tom getting dressed quickly after and saying they can’t do this, it’s wrong. Then Patrick says, rightfully so, “YOU TOUCHED ME FIRST!” But Tom can’t argue with that so he flees. and it cuts back to older Marion finishing up the diary entry.
Her behavior never changes towards Patrick, she even shares a cigarette with him even though he’s not supposed to have any and she keeps trying to get Tom to see him.
So from the first blow job scene, Tom returns to the apartment drunk, asking Patrick if he’d keep drawing him. Of course Patrick is totally thrown off given how they parted before. But he sees Tom is drunk and doesn’t want his neighbors to find them again (during the first visit, a neighbor does come out but Tom is introduced as a cousin)
Tom is of course struggling with everything. He yells a bit. And oh Harry was so great. I told [another friend], I actually was able to get lost and (despite the rude crowd) JUST see Tom. I was so heartbroken for him.
But of course Patrick understands and they actually have sex. And oh wow…once again, OLIVIA WILDE SUCK MY DICK.
It wasn’t raunchy but it was EXPLICIT. You see them together a few times. In the bed and on the couch with Patrick riding him, OH MY GOD!! It was beautiful shot!! It was actual GAY sex and not some bullshit scene with Harry’s head under a skirt.
You do see Harry completely nude from behind. I would say a step further than Brokeback Mountain, no full frontal. David is gorgeous, his bf is also lucky. 😂
DWD is fucking child’s play in comparison. The gays stay winning.
I told [my friend] gay sex should always be shot this way. It was obviously well choreographed. The riding scene had beautiful vertical lines of their bodies shot from a small distanceIt wasn’t obscene, it was supposed to show them falling apart together and it was lovely.
They end up in bed together with Tom’s head on Patrick’s chest and that’s where Patrick says he had a previous partner that was killed for being gay. So they decide to obviously keep their relationship a secret.
It was so natural and Harry looked so amazing. I was so strangely proud, again just to see him be able to do that and recognize it as art and have it be a part of such an important story.
I know people are gonna ask you, so just to get it out there: Tom tops in every scene. When they’re in bed, Patrick does switch positions with him but just to kiss along his neck. And honestly, for a second I thought we were getting a rimming scene because Harry kind of arched his back 😳 But then it cut away. That DID make my eyebrows go up a bit but then no. Good form though, Styles. And congrats Louis, you lucky mfer.
OH! Before Tom goes back, there is a scene where Patrick visits the gay bar mentioned in the novel. He thinks he ruined his moment with Tom, so he goes to find someone else. They go to an alleyway and he’s about to blow the guy when two cops come. Patrick escapes but his guy is arrested.

The Freedom of Expression Ep 21 - Gone with the Wind's relation to BLM.
K: Ok, this is Dir en grey's Kaoru, starting this episode of The Freedom of Expression. Joe san, Tasai san. Welcome. Well, um..you know, Dir en grey...we've cancelled our Pia Arena concerts.
J: Ahh, thats right.
K: Its a bit...
T: Its a shame.
K: Well..it is a shame..it was kind of a build up of different things. We did search for ways which we could make it happen. We went to the venue in person, and tried to come up with ideas about how it could work, incuding our staff in the discussion, but...in the end it was quite difficult.
J: Ahh, really?
K: I had thought if we started to be a bit active things might begin to change. I really wanted to get moving, but...well..there would be people who wouldn't be able to go...
J: Well, yes.
K: So when we thought about whether we should do it...hmm..yeh.
J: Well, we want to let everyone know that you went as far as going to the venue to try to figure out what to do, and it does not mean that the band will disappear..
K: Yes
J: And in this sense, its a matter of waiting for the right time.
K: Yeah.
J: Right?
K: When will that be though, right?
J: Ah, well, the number of infections in Tokyo is in a state of increase at the moment, in particular, the night time entertainment sector is being blamed, so it seems as if live houses, or so called places of entertainment may be facing tough times for a little while yet.
K: Well, the numbers...if you decreased the number of customers..there are some places starting to operate again in that way, right?
J: There are, yes.
K: But packed standing areas are probably still a bit far off.
J: Yeah. When I think of a Dir en grey live show...I think of Shinkiba etc, I mean, thats what comes up in my mind. One way to see that type of place is like the three C's woven together (Cramped and poorly ventilated, crowded with people, close contact setting).
K: Yeh.
J: So it is really painful not being able to do that. But while it may take a while until we can, in the meantime we can find different ways or hybrid ways of doing it.
K: Yeah, we have to keep looking in a foward direction. Well...but on the days that we ought to have been performing, the 24th and 25th of  this month, we are planning to stream the intended setlist live on Youtube, so if people can, I'd love them to watch that.
Kami: Um....um...
J: Ah, Kami is here.
Kami: Have you considered playing live wearing face guards or something?
K, J: Face guards?
K: No, we didn't consider that, hahaha
J, T, K: Hahaha
J: This wouldn't fit with Dir en grey.
K: No, we actually talked about it, jokingly. Like how about it?
*laughing*
J: No, if you actually did, it would be like you were making fun of it or something like that. Hahaha.
Kami: Have you thought about ventilating the venue during the show or something?
K: Hmm, yeh, we'd have to make an interval in the middle and doing something like that.
T: I see
J: Well, its difficult isn't it? You'd have to deal with a lot of things. But just like you want to do it, people want to see it too, we are all the same.
Kami: Watching a Dir en grey show with interval breaks would be quite hard, right?
K: Hm, yeah it would probably break the tension.
T: Yeah.
K: Kinda.
Kami: What do you think about doing that?
K: Doing that...well..
Kami: Raising the tension, they saying  Ok, ventilation time!
K: We'd have to make it kinda like smoothly seperated waves.
J: Like leading into something when there is a break?
K: Leading into something. For example, like something sanwiched between the different sections, like showing a piece of film or something.
J: Ahh, its difficult! The people making the rules, have probably never been to live cocerts, because they don't imagine this type of thing at all. We'll have to think about all these small details at the time of performing from now on.
K: Ok, well, today...Joe san, can you please go ahead.
J: Ok, I'd like to go ahead with today's news. This is the news of how Gone with the Wind relates to the Black Lives Matter movement.
With the ongoing anti-racism Black Lives Matter movement, the expanding movement fighting for the lives of black people to be valued, the American streaming service HBO Max who halted the broadcasting of the Hollywood movie Gone with the Wind, have decided to start streaming the movie again, this time with a disclaimer attached....I'm sure you all know it...a movie which is set during the era of the American civil war, in which the system of slavery existed. This was announced by the American entertainment site TMZ. The same service had stopped streaming the movie earlier this month, after Oscar winning screen writer, John Ridley had pointed out that it includes affirmative portrayals of the system of slavery. Ridley won an Oscar for his work on the movie 12 Years A Slave, which depicts the experiences of slaves who were brought to America during the 19th century. According to TMZ, Jaqueline Stewart, a professor know for her research into the history of black people in cinema, has prepared a video containg some historical background to accompany the movie, in which she asks why we need to appreciate this 1939 movie in its original form, and says how it is  important to discuss our interpretations of it. Furthermore, a video of a panel discussion about this movie which took place in April last year will also be shown at the same time. Gone with the Wind is a movie based on the story by Margret Mitchell, featuring top star of the time, Clark Gable, and English actress, Vivian Leigh.
Soo, Gone with the Wind...the news that streaming was stopped once, but has been restarted with a disclaimer attached. What do you think about this, Kaoru?
K: This type of stuff has been said for a long time, right?
J: Yes.
K: And there are a lot of movies like this aren't there?
J: There are. When looking back now, some parts seem problematic. Well, even so, its a difficult issue, but I don't really think there was any need to halt streaming it in the first place. When watching a movie with such a background as this, people will have various feelings about it, so I don't really...but of course including these extras..the American Black Lives Matter movement has grown huge in a way no one imagined, so in order to prevent adding fuel to the fire, these extra videos are being screened too. But, in the first place, I think its important for people to watch works like this, and think about it for themselves. If you are always telling people how it should be, the nuance or message contained in these movies might be lost. Its quite difficult.
T: Well, if it is lost, we'll end up forgetting how that generation used to see the world.
J: Yeah
K: But we won't lose it, right? Just from this..???1* So, well..it was a problem which couldn't be stopped at that time, it was a growing problem. You can sense that meaning, but its like, how you put it across.
J: Yeh, thats right. Well, this isn't about this movie, but for example, as for books, the publication of Hitler's Mein Kampf was halted for 70 years after the war in Germany. There was the idea that it would be bad to let people read Hilter's autobiography, after what he did. But a few years ago it started to be permitted to be published again, based on the idea that banning it also isn't a good idea. And people do actually want to read it, it is selling. So what do you do? Its a very difficult issue. If the works are by people who have done very bad things, like, a if they are written by a very bad person, should we ban it....Like some of Dir en grey's videos are also quite...when you majored, weren't some of them withdrawn or denied release?
K: With that ????2*
J: Ahh, I see. Some bits were ok, and some weren't? Well, with corona changing the world now, this problem will...
K: Well, this type of thing has an influence on a lot of stuff.
J: It does, yes.
K: Like Japanese anime.
T: Also, people are questioning this idea of 'whitening' beauty products.
J, K: Ahh, yeah.
T: That type of thing has come out recently. But even if you say 'whitening' in the context of beauty, what does it mean? Does it mean, white people are beautiful, or does it mean your skin is ???*3 That has become a talking point.
K: Now that you mention it, you are not allowed to tell someone they're short are you?
J: Right.
K: The same for if they are tall, right.
J: Yeah, if you worry too much, you'll end up trying to censor words. Especially with younger people, like sometimes  you have to express things in abbreviated forms, and if they jump on this and say, 'you can't say that!', then the amount of expressions we have will shrink. Well, it is difficult.
K: Well, I mean there are lots of ???*4 with that type of person.
J: Well, its difficult  to know where to draw the line with this type of thing. But with regards to Black Lives Matter, it doesn't appear to have a lot to do with this country, but Black Lives Matter has been closed in on the event where a policeman kneeled on the neck of a black man and killed him. However, if you look at the broader scene, one of the policemen standing by and watching is thought to be a man of Asian descent. And the store that reported the black man who died was run by middle eastern descended people, so its certainly not an issue unrelated to Asia. Its often said that its an issue of only whites against blacks, but actually there are clearly people of Asian descent involved in this situation. On a global scale, there are a lot of issues which you cant simply separate into white against black. So i think we should get our imaginations working a bit more, and think about all the parties involved. It might be a bit hard to imagine living in this country, but we need to realise these are not just other peoples' affairs.
T: Its really imoprtant to try to imagine yourself in someone else's situation, isn't it?
J: I think it is really important. ...Kami?
Kami: Yes yes yes. Were you talking about Gone with the Wind?
J: Ah, you want to return to the topic of Gone with the Wind?
Kami: No, I just thought this was about Gone with the Wind. I have no interest in the movie Gone with the Wind, just the title puts me off. I wasn't really listening this time.
K: He hates this type of movie, right?
J: Yes, he hates it, haha. You don't like this type of thing much?
K: What type of movies do you like?
Kami: Anything, even banned movies.
T: Kami sometimes...
J: He's like Chabudai gaeshi!
T: He appears at times like this.
K: Well, Kami probably likes action movies or that type of thing.
J: Oh you like that type of thing? You don't care  if streaming of Gone with the Wind is stopped?
Kami: Yeh, if a big fuss is made when its stopped, then people will wonder what its all about and try to watch it won't they?
T: Ahh, I see.
J: Ah, on the other hand, yeh.
Kami: I won't watch it though.
K: He's really pressing that point. He won't let us forget.
J: Ahh, so thats that. It doesn't meet Kami's expectations.
K: Okay, well, lets end here. Please subscribe. Thank you very much.
J, T: Thank you.

HONGJOONG (ft. Burglar)
Tumblr media
You watched Hongjoong’s Instagram story since he was out with the KBS Team. He was a special MC today. Before leaving, one of the highest staff members offered to eat at a BBQ Restaurant. Hongjoong couldn’t decline it wouldn't be polite, so it texted you 3 hours ago to let you know that he will get home late. You were happy that he met other people they will know how amazing your boyfriend was. When you yawned you glanced at the clock in the living room, it was already 1:00 AM. You wanted to wait your boyfriend as always, but you were too tired to wait him for an unknown time. You turned off all the lights and got in your bedroom. When you slide under the sheets, you heard like a lock noise coming from the kitchen.
You didn't mind it was probably your imagination. You rolled on the side trying to be a little bit comfier. As you fell asleep a little bit later, you recognize the sound of the window and not in simple noise but a smooth one like when someone is opening it. You sat down on your bed. The first thing you did was to grab your phone and check Hongjoong’s Instagram story. You covered your mouth to shut down the scream; your boyfriend last update was posted 5 minutes ago, and he was still at the restaurant. You heard a man voice whispering in the hallway. Instinctively you rushed off your bed to lock your bedroom’s door. It would keep him away from you for few minutes. You composed Hongjoong’s phone number, your shaky hands holding the phone. Fortunately, he answered. [“Y/N? I’m still at the-“] [“Hongjoong, there’s someone in the apartment.”] You whispered. [“Wait! What?! Are you sure?”] [“Yes! Please help me!”] [“Where are you?”] [“In the bedroom… I locked the door but I’m so scared!”] [“Can someone call the police?! There’s a burglar in my apartment!”] You heard him asking for help. [“Hongjoong, I’m so scared…”] You sobbed quietly. [“Y/N baby, you will be okay!”] said your boyfriend, trying to do his best to reassure you. You heard the intruder steps resounding in the hallway. You looked around you to see if there’s any place to hide. [“Y/N? You still there?”] You hummed; to make him understand that you were listening. [“Police is coming. And me too! I’ll be there in 10 minutes!”] You heard his breathe being louder and heavier, he was running to you. [“Joong… I think he’s just in front of the door!”] You heard the intruder struggling with the knob. [“Hongjoong…”] You cried quietly. [“Babe please, stay quiet and safe. Hide somewhere!”] he ordered. [“I’m in the wardrobe… but he will find me for sure!”] you sobbed, chocking your whines as you could. [“You’ll be okay baby! Please stay quiet and don’t do anything!”] You never felt this fear before. Your whole body was shaking, head to toe. The burglar went more insistent with the knob. Every time, you heard the man bumping at the door, your heart skipped a beat. Suddenly, you heard the police siren no far away of your apartment. “Shit!” Cursed the intruder. You heard him running back to the kitchen, probably dropping everything he stole on the floor. [“The police are there!”] You said to your boyfriend. You busted in tears, grateful that someone would rescue you. [“Stay where you are!”] Ordered Hongjoong. The policemen entered in your apartment, fighting noise coming from the kitchen. Maybe you should help them. But Hongjoong asked you to stay safe. Few seconds later, everything went quiet again, like nothing happened. You started to freak out again. You heard someone walking and opening the door. You stayed quiet and prayed that it was a policeman. The steps stopped just in front of the wardrobe. Your heart raced when the door opened. “Y/N!” yelled your boyfriend, crouching down to hug you. “Hongjoong!” I was so scared!” You hugged him tightly, trying to reduce the stress and the nervousness. “You will be okay…I’m here!” he patted your back, to reassure you.
Few minutes later, the police came to make a report. It seemed that the burglar saw that there were expensive things in your apartment. As you lived in the ground floor, it was easy for him to get in. Hongjoong was blaming himself because he wasn’t there with you. But for you that was a good thing, he was safe.
SEONGHWA (ft. Sasaeng*)
Tumblr media
You invited your friends to spend time with you around a good diner. All of them were busy because of their work but unexpectedly, they were all present tonight. You cooked a tasty dinner for them and gossiped during the whole meal. “Is everything okay with Seonghwa Y/N?” asked one of your friends. “Everything is perfect,” you giggled, “he’s so good with me!” you blushed. “And he’s handsome too!” added the friend next to you, tickling your belly. “Look at you…” began another friend, “you were against dating an idol since you moved to Korea!” You smiled awkwardly. It’s true that you didn't want to date a celebrity, there was too much responsibility and it was too stressful. But when you met Seonghwa, everything was… different than all you heard on social media. You started to date Seonghwa one year ago just before his debut with ATEEZ. Your boyfriend and you got along so well and quickly. At first you were intimated buy him but now you saw his crazy side. He was just like a little baby who needed attention. At this thought, you smiled like an idiot; your friends were laughing at you. “By the way…” began the friend in front of you, putting down her glass on the table. “Now that the entire world knows about your relationship… are you safe?” she asked seriously. “Most of his fans are happy but there’s some who’s are threatening me…” you scratched your head, embarrassed. “You need a bodyguard!” “No! don’t worry! I’ll be fine.” You reassured them even if one part of you were terrified. 2 hours later, you were alone in your apartment, cleaning the dishes. You couldn’t stop thinking about what your friend said. Maybe some fans were crazy enough to hurt you. You almost got a heart attack when someone knocked at the door. Pretty sure that one of your friends forgot something. Without looking in the peephole, you opened the door but regretted it instantly when you saw a young girl, staring at you. “Huh… hi? Can I help you?” you asked politely. “Yes. I’m lost and really thirsty. Can you please bring me a glass of water?” said this girl, smiling widely. Her smile reassured you, but you kept an eye on her. “Stay here,” you ordered, “I’ll be back in few seconds.” As you went back to the kitchen, you heard your phone rang on the counter. [“Hi babe! I’m at the grocery store do you want something?”] [“Hi Hwa! And no… I ate too much already!”] you laughed. [“There’s a plate for me?”] he asked. [“Sure!”] you giggled. [“Then I’m coming home right now! I’ll be there in 5 minutes!”] [“Okay greedy, take c-“] You stayed quiet when you heard the breaking noise coming from the living room. You rushed there and saw the young girl with a vase in her hands. [“Y/N what was that?”] Asked Seonghwa. “What are you doing?” you asked the girl, ignoring Seonghwa. “I’m breaking your stuff like you broke my heart.” She simply replied, dropping another vase on the floor. “Are you crazy?!” you yelled, “what are you talking about?” “You are dating Seonghwa! He should be MY boyfriend!” She shouted, walking up to you. At this moment you understood the situation. This girl was wearing ATEEZ’ hoodie and the luminate of their world tour. [“Seonghwa…”] you whispered at the phone, [“There’s a sasaeng.”] * Your boyfriend cursed through the phone and ordered you to go out, but you were froze. “You stole my boyfriend!” she shouted again. “Calm down please…” you almost begged, seeing the look in her eyes. She scoffed, “I’ll calm down when you will break up with Seonghwa!” The fan walking up in front of you; facing without leaving your stare. “So? Are you going to break up with him or I will need to?” she threatened you. No word could come out of your mouth. You were scared that whatever you could, say she would hurt you. “Can you answer me coward?!” she yelled. [“Y/N! Y/N!”] called Seonghwa through the phone. “Then okay…” she finally answered, smiling maliciously. Suddenly, the couple of neighbors next to your apartment came in your living-room. Thank god, she didn’t close the door. “What is going on here?” asked the man. The young girl looked at them, scared. She just run away almost falling on the carpet. You fell on your knees, not getting the strength to stand up anymore. You felt like not enough air could get in your lungs. The woman crunched at your side trying to calm you down, but nothing worked. “Y/N!” yelled Seonghwa entering in the apartment. He realized what happened and hated himself. He kneeled in front of you, holding your hands. “I’m here baby… please calm down…” he asked. You looked directly at his eyes. “Exhale… and inhale…” he helped you as he could. You felt air entering in your lungs, not suffocating anymore. “Nice babe…” he rubbed your cheeks.
When you relaxed, Seonghwa called KQ’s CEO and asked a night protection for you till the crazy fans calm down. Thanks to social medias, Atinys learned what happened to you and found out the sasaeng. Now she was blacklisted of ATEEZ’s promotion and couldn’t approach you anymore. Your boyfriend wasn't kidding about your safety.
*Sasaeng: is an obsessive fan who stalks, or engages in other behavior constituting an invasion of the privacy of a Korean idol or other public figure.
YUNHO (ft. Kidnappers)
Tumblr media
When the movie credit appeared on your TV screen, you composed your boyfriend’s phone number. “Answer me please please please…” you whispered. [“Yeoboseyo?”]* [“Yunhoooo!”] You whined at the phone. [“What?”] Giggled your boyfriend at your actions. [“I accidentally watched a horror documentary!”] You pouted. [“You watched the whole documentary?”] [“Yes! At first it was interesting, but it went down so fast! Murder, kidnapping, peeper…”] you enumerated. Yunho was laughing out loud. He knew how much you were a coward and a scary baby. He could bet that you would freak out the whole night. [“Can you come right now? I’m so scared.”] you asked. [“We are practicing sweetie. I don’t think I will come or sleep neither tonight.”] Honestly, a car light outside in the street got your attention. You don’t know why but the little voice in your head told you to look through the window. You spotted a black van in front of your portal; you smiled. [“Is that you?”] you laughed, [“you are incredible!”] [“What are you talking about?”] [“The black van in front of my house!”] [“I’m at the practice room Y/N. It’s just someone else.”] You didn't reply. As every Saturday, yours neighbors would be at the restaurant and at the cinema, except if they changed their plan. But that was unusual. You focused on the van, seeing 2 men going out of it. They were wearing black outfit with a beanie and gloves. Something was strange and it wasn't your imagination. [“Yunho, I think I’m in danger.”] Your boyfriend sighed, [“it was just a documentary Y/N… don’t freak out because of a van.”] [“No no! It’s not just a van. There are 2 guys! I don’t know them, and they are pointing at my house!”] you summarize your situation. [“Y/N…”] [“Yunho I’m dead serious!”] you raised your voice. As a proof you sent a picture to your boyfriend about what was happening. [“Look what I sent you!”] Yunho was losing his patience, you are always like that. But now it was different when he saw the 2 shadows next to the van. [“Y/N lock the door now.”] You didn’t think twice and made sure the door was locked. [“I’m coming right now.”] [“What should I do?!”] you asked, scared. [“Turn on your bedroom’s light and the kitchen too. They would think you are not alone.”] Genius, you thought. You rushed to do what Yunho said. [“What they want?”] you whispered, trying to look at them discreetly. [“I heard that there was kidnappers in Seoul, but I wasn’t believing it.”] he let you know. You heard the can door outside, but you couldn’t see what was happening. You just sat against the wall, trying to remain quiet. [“Where are you Yunho?”] [“I’m at 3 minutes to your house.”] you sighed, happy to know that their KQ’s building was not far away from your house. Suddenly, you thought about what would happen to your boyfriend. [“Yunho stop! They can hurt you! They are 2!”] [“I’m with Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho.”] [“Hallelujah, you brought Jongho.”] you sighed of relief. [“You are pretty calm for someone who can be kidnapped.”] [“They can’t en-“] you began. A loud noise scared you. They were trying to smash the door. Yunho’s idea didn’t work. [“Yunho! They are trying to get in!”] You whispered. [“We are in the street! Don’t move!”] The reality started to hit you. These men were trying to kidnap you. Hopefully, you called Yunho and looked outside. If the little voice on your head hadn’t warned you, where would you be right now? “Hey! Can we help you?!” You heard Wooyoung high pitched voice. “What are you doing here?” Asked Jongho. Too afraid for them, you walked in front of the entrance door. Holding the knob, in case something bad happens. You watched through the little window at the right of the door. You saw the four ATEEZ members next to the van. The two intruders just laughed and run away, pushing Wooyoung lightly. Jongho and Mingi ran after them, while the loudest member took a pic of the plate license and called the police. You opened the door and rushed to your boyfriend. “Yunho!” you hugged him. He put his big hands on your back and on your head to keep you against him. “Are you okay?” he looked at your face and your arms, trying to see any bruises. “I’m fine…” you smiled, eyes watering a bit more. “You sure?” “Yes, I was just so scared. But now you are here…” you buried your face on his chest.
The next day, you learned that the police caught the intruders. They were walking around since 2 days here and they saw you alone today, so you were the perfect target. Now every time you watch a horror movie or documentary, Yunho will be there.
*Yeoboseyo: hi/allo in korean.
YEOSANG (ft. Peeper)
Tumblr media
You were drying your hair and singing at your favorite song of the week. You had a long and stressful Friday. You worked all day, running to every floor of the building. And when you finally got home, one of your friends asked you to babysit her toddler for 2 hours. As a good friend, you accepted. Her little girl was cute but energetic or at least more than you a Friday night. When you finally played a good movie for her, she would turn around at the window, saying that there was a ghost outside. Too lazy and exhausted you told her that there was no ghost in your apartment. But she kept warning at least 10 times, you just ignore it. When her mom got her back, you decided to take a bath. It was really helpful all of your muscles were so relaxed that you felt on the cloud nine. Carefully you grabbed your phone to text back your boyfriend, but in the same time you spotted a shadow at the window. When you blinked there was nothing. “Probably a bird,” you whispered. Your boyfriend asked you how your day was and said that he would come to your apartment near it 11PM. When you explained your exhausting day, you saw the shadow again a little bit longer than a first time but when you blink it again there was nothing. You sighed, “this little girl scared me with her ghost.” You shook your head to erase the bad thoughts. 15 minutes later, you get out of your bath, wrapping your body with a towel. You checked your phone to see if Yeosang replied, but no he was probably pre-recording the promotion stage. So, you played some music to sing out loud like a diva while you were doing your skin care. The cream you usually apply on your face was almost empty. You reached the cupboard below the window and crouched down to reach the last cream pot. But when you stood up, you were face to face with a strange man behind the window. He was staring at you with a vicious smile. You didn’t react. You just went back calmly at the mirror, acting like nothing happened. You applied the cream on your face, staring carefully at the mirror reflection to see if the peeper was still here. Internally, you were a mess. You wanted to shout, scream, yell, cry and hide in the corner but maybe you would be in danger. You hummed like if you were singing but you grabbed your phone, almost dropping it on the sink. You called Yeosang, still acting like there was no one who was looking at you behind the window. [“Y/N? I’m leaving the building if it’s the reason of your-“] [“Someone is watching me by the bathroom’s window.”] you said calmly, staring at the man behind you, through the mirror. [“What? This is non-sense.”] replied Yeosang, like he couldn’t care less. [“Yeo, there’s a man peeping me and that’s all you have to said?”] you freaked out. You saw the creepy man raising a brow at the new look on your face. Your forced smile came back instantly. [“Close the curtains or ask him to go.”] he replied. [“He’s so creepy… I’m scared that he become crazy if I do something bad!”] [“Then I’ll call the police. Please go on the kitchen and close all the curtains. I’ll be there in 20 minutes.”] he said seriously. [“Call me just after okay?”] you almost begged. [“Yes. Stay safe babe.”] You nodded. Everything went quiet again when he hung up. Without looking at the mirror, you rushed to close the curtains and turned off the lights. After that, you sat on the kitchen floor, looking at the window to see if he was there. You couldn’t see him, but you heard his steps. He was staring at every window to get any chance to see you. You almost screamed when your phone buzzed. [“Okay, police are coming.”] said Yeosang a bit more peacefully. [“And you? Where are you?”] At this moment, Yeosang was the first person you wanted to be there with you in this cold floor. [“I’m in the van but stuck in the traffic.”] You sighed. Until the police came, he tried to comfort you with jokes or explaining how his day was.
[“And this is how I almost chocked Wooyoung.”] You giggled. You almost forgot the peeper around your apartment. But you heard the 2 policemen asking him to follow them. You rushed outside and see distinctively the face of this psychopath. “Everything’s okay Ma’am. Please lock your door, we will come back tomorrow.” Informed one of them. You just nodded, still shock. The peeper was smiling at you. You got chills and an urge need to throw up. “Y/N!” Called Yeosang when he saw you throwing up almost on your neighbor’s flowers. “It’s okay babe! You are safe now!” He patted your back, breathless. “This man… was so creepy.” You said wiping the saliva on the corner of your mouth, feeling disgusted.
After this day, Yeosang stayed with you every weekend and every time he had a free day. Behind your brave appearance, you were terrified, and your boyfriend was too. He couldn’t forgive himself if something happens to you.

Protector
Part 1
[Cop Ichigo X Victim Orihime]
A few days back, maybe even a few weeks back, I was scrolling down the Ichihime tag like always do, when I saw @nneefa ‘s request for a fanfiction of a headcanon they had. So, because I obviously can’t help but write about my favorite cuties, and the idea was just fantastic, I tried to put their idea in shape.
This is the first part for an AU that should be 5 parts long? I’m not certain about it, but I’m excited to write this!
Tumblr media
--------------------------------------
“This morning, in Karakura Town’s Eastern side, a massive explosion occurred at a local bakery, harming multiple civilians and killing the two owners in the fire. The firefighters are rapidly handling the situation, as the flames are already extinguished. But, alas, the victims are numerous, and the police have no clues as to why such a devastating accident occured.”
The presentator was cut short, the tv flashing into a black screen as the chief of the police sighed heavily before staring coldly at his team.
“The explosion is going to make much more noise, now that the tv is broadcasting live, right in front of what was the bakery. And that means delaying even more the investigation. So gather everything, I want to know whether we have more victims, if they were dead before, if that was a suicidal explosion… Everything.”
All the policemen and policewomen nodded in agreement, saluting their chief before rushing out, running to gather and investigate. Ichigo saluted his superior too, ready to help his partners and figure what in the hell had happened, but was called back.
“Wait a second, Kurosaki.”
The young man turned around, eyes already asking what did that mean, wondering what would he have to do.
“Some of the victims are still conscious, and thankfully, in rather good health. Among them is a renowned astrophysicist, Orihime Inoue. She’s a real prodigee, and she needs to be guarded.”
Ichigo squinted his eyes, ready to ask why would he guard someone : wasn’t it better to entirely focus on the investigation, what happened and who did it?
“You will be the one in charge of her protection. I’ve read your reports, and seen you act both on the terrain and indoors, and you’re the ideal man for the job.”
The chief stood up from his chair, cracking a bone or two in the process, and Ichigo straightened his body.
He wasn’t used to the praises, or an investigation given to him like that. The young man wasn’t dumb enough to misunderstand his worth, but never thought of being picked to look after a person in particular. Especially an important one.
“I gladly accept the mission, Sir. Is Miss Inoue aware someone will come to guard her? I wouldn’t want to traumatize her further.”
“Always the caring cop. Continue doing that, you give us a great reputation.” The chief smiled, his joke not landing on Ichigo, who looked as neutral as he could. “Ahem, well, she’s been told yes. Wasn’t too warm at the idea, of course, but she understands her security is at stake.”
Ichigo nodded, hand reaching for the papers, quickly reading them to have a visual on who the woman was. And the moment he stared at her picture, oh he knew, he was going to protect her with all he had.
Orihime Inoue wasn’t just the pretty girl you remember from your school days, someone that could easily be a model and haunt the dreams of so many admirers. Her burnt orange hair, gentle and wide yet so intelligent and perspective grey eyes, the cute button nose, plush lips… All those and more made his chest ache sweetly, the desire to know her burning in his heart. Who was she? What was more to the astrophysicist and the beauty?
Would she be cold, like her profession would push her to be, or dreamy and kind, like her eyes revealed?
Ichigo heard the chief cough lightly, and the young policeman faked clearing his thorat, looking up to salute his superior.
“I will go to the address then.”
“Yeah, yeah. But don’t get too cosy with her, Kurosaki. She’s someone you don’t want to drag in the police’s business.”
.
.
.
Figured out, Orihime Inoue lived in a delicate and breath-taking bubble of her own, away from the trouble of the streets, the sound of the wind and the children’s laughter the only thing to worry about. Her small house was stuck between more modern ones, the orange roof tiles slowly but surely invaded by greenery, star jasmine, if he recalled correctly.
Lowering his head to not be hit by the misplaced roof tile, and the little lampions hanging from the outside ceiling, Ichigo looked at the address once again.
It was definitely her house.
“Okay… Here we go.” He told himself, voice hoping to sound casual, not too scary or shaky. Looking like an idiot wasn’t in his plans.
After calming his nerves, and thoroughly wiping his hands in his jeans, Ichigo knocked on the door, loud enough to be heard, and low enough to not be banging.
“Coming~!”
He heard the voice crystal clear, because how could he not?
In real life, in a normal world, where people didn’t live in a fairy tale house, homey and the smell of jasmine wasn’t so sweet, he wouldn’t have heard a kind voice. Someone, with less harmonious vocal cords, would have yelled an impatient and grumbling yes. They would even not have answered, leaving the people waiting feeling oh so lost.
That’s what usually happened.
But today, when his head was in a permanent effort of not rubbing against a blue lampion with a tiny dolphin on it, when his eyes were scanning the tiny frog in ceramic with a wide sign welcoming the guests, the door opened, Orihime Inoue coming out, and he was thankful he had been the one chosen to watch over her.
The red headed woman in front of him batted her lashes curiously, lost for a few moments before Ichigo saw her gaze landing on the documents in his hands. The woman brushed a soft looking strand of hair behind her ear, not fully opening the door.
"Are you the policeman in charge of looking after me?" She asked, voice not as sweet as before, a serious facade replacing the bubbly look on her face. She looked as beautiful as before, only now, he would have the door in his face if he acted like a dick.
"Yes, Miss Inoue. My name is Ichigo Kurosaki. I've been informed of the accident that occured a few days ago. Would it be alright if I ask you questions about it, so you could tell me anything you light know?"
"Is it a way of interrogating people? Pretending to guard them?"
Ichigo was surprised, because never in this little paradise would he have believed she could have an icy stare.
"No, Miss Inoue. I'm not here to interrogate you, simply ask a few things so you can live peacefully again."
Orihime frowned slightly, curve of her eyebrows arching perfectly. She stared into his own eyes, digging up what was true and what was just a fake act of kindness, only to, apparently, see he wasn't lying. The smile returned on her features, and the door was opened.
"Good! Come on in, I guess it's chit chat time."

Tumblr media
Peter Leeds was born in Bayonne, NJ.  Leeds received his training at the Neighborhood Playhouse. He received a scholarship from the John Marshall Law School, which he attended for one year. He also attended The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in NYC.  He was in four Broadway shows, including the original cast of The Music Man (1957) starring Robert Preston, who would later be Lucille Ball’s leading man in Mame (1974).  He was also in the original cast of Sugar Babies (1979) starring Lucille Ball’s co-stars Ann Miller and Mickey Rooney.
Tumblr media
He made his film debut with a bit part in Public Enemies (1941) which also starred William Frawley (Fred Mertz).  He made his television debut in 1949 with an episode of “Oboler’s Comedy Theatre”.  It is said that by the time of his passing he had appeared on television 8,000 times!

Tumblr media
It is no coincidence that Leeds returns for this particular episode. He had teamed with Bob Hope on 14 USO shows, as well as multiple films and TV programs: “The Red Skelton Hour: Clem and Married Life” (1951), “The Bob Hope Show” (13 episodes, 1955-1967), “The Colgate Comedy Hour” (1955), The Facts of Life (1960, with Lucy), “The Bob Hope Christmas Show” (1962, 1965), “The Bing Crosby Show” (1964), “The Bob Hope Comedy Special” (1965, 1966 with Lucy, 1972), I’ll Take Sweden (1965), The Oscar (1966), Eight on the Lam (1967), “Bob Hope Lampoons Show Business” (1990), and “Bob Hope and Friends: Making New Memories” (1991).

Tumblr media
He returned to “The Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse” in January 1961 for an episode titled “Poker Game” hosted by Desi Arnaz.
Tumblr media
Leeds played Mr. Thompson, the dry cleaner in the 1960 Hope / Ball film The Facts of Life.
Tumblr media
In 1961 and 1962 he played two different policemen on “The Dick Van Dyke Show” filmed by Desilu.
Tumblr media
In September 1962 Leeds appeared on a “The Comedy Spot” (a show that aired failed pilots) produced by Desilu. "Time Out for Ginger” was a pilot starring Candy Moore, who had just been cast as Lucille Ball’s daughter on “The Lucy Show.”
Tumblr media
In 1963, he was back in blue at Desilu for an episode of “My Three Sons” titled “My Friend Ernie” featuring William Frawley.
Tumblr media
From 1956 to 1964 Leeds made three appearances as different characters on “Make Room for Daddy” aka “The Danny Thomas Show”.   In his first appearance he played a jazz pianist that didn’t jive with Danny.  The series was filmed by Desilu.  In late 1959 / early 1960, the series did reciprocal cross-over episodes with “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.”
Tumblr media
At Desilu Studios, he filmed six episode of “The Joey Bishop Show" from 1961 to 1965, the final appearance as... a policeman, of course.
Tumblr media
Leeds appeared on all three of the ‘Hooterville’ sitcoms known as the CBS Rural Comedies: “The Beverly Hillbillies” (4 episodes 1963-68), “Green Acres” (2 episodes 1963 & 1968), and “Petticoat Junction” (3 episodes 1965-67).
Tumblr media
In 1971, he was reunited with Lucille Ball for an episode of “Here’s Lucy” titled “Lucy and the Candid Camera” (HL S4;E14) once again playing a policeman. The episode featured “Candid Camera” founder Allen Funt as himself, and a nefarious look-alike.
Tumblr media
His final screen appearance was in the 1988 big screen remake of Dragnet.  Desilu veterans Kathleen Freeman, and Harry Morgan were also in the film and, like Leeds, had done episodes of the original series.  Leeds had done three episodes of the series in 1953, 1954, and 1955.
He died on November 12, 1996 at age 79. He was married twice and had one child.

Tumblr media
A Few Weeks Ago
“Guys, I think I might have something.”
You stopped pacing and tossed the lore book you’d been reading on the war room table. It seemed like it had been ages since you and the boys had caught wind of a case and you were starting to go stir crazy.
As you made your way into the library, you saw that Sam was leaning forward, intently scanning the screen in front of him. Dean had his feet propped up on the table and was cleaning his pistol-- a habit that seemed to become more frequent when he was feeling frustrated or impatient.
“Whatcha got, Sammy?” you asked.
Stopping behind Dean’s chair, you snaked your arms around his shoulders and rested your chin at the crook of his neck. He hummed happily and twisted in your arms to place a soft kiss on your cheek.
“Ugh. Look, I’m glad you guys finally sucked it up and admitted you’re into each other. But can you try to keep the PDA to a minimum?” Sam groaned.
Dean smiled and wrapped a large hand around one of your forearms, holding you in place when you tried to pull away. “C’mon, Sammy. Can’t you be happy for your big bro and prettiest friend?”
“‘Prettiest friend?’” you swatted Dean’s chest lightly with your free hand and wriggled out of his grasp. “And here I thought you liked me for my personality, Casanova.”
Sam rolled his eyes while you took a seat in the chair beside Dean. “Of course I’m happy for you two, it’s just...whatever. Ok, so get this. Apparently there’s been so many bizarre incidents in New York City lately that people are demanding answers from the CDC. Everything from higher rates of people going missing to more crime-- and lots of reports of people acting out of character before turning up dead. Basically all the family members, friends, coworkers, or anybody else that knew the suspects say something along the lines of ‘none of us saw this coming,’ ‘they’d never be capable of something like this-- it has to be some mistake.’ The CDC’s claiming there hasn’t been like, an outbreak of anything to cause weird behavior and there’s no reason to panic but--”
“So New Yorkers are stealing stuff and might have a serial killer-- so what?” Dean interrupted. “Doesn’t exactly sound like our kind of thing, Sam.”
“See, that’s what I thought, but something still wasn’t adding up. So I kept looking into it and even for New York the rates are weirdly high. There’s not a link that they can see, but it’s like across the board these incidents are getting more intense. And the last body to turn up? Turns out it was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.”
“S.H.I.E.L.D.?” you asked. “Like...real life agents?”
“Yeah,” Sam continued. “And before that, an NYPD officer. There’s been other stuff with ATMs, convenience stores, and now jewelry stores and bank robberies.”
“Could be demons, maybe? Or even--”
“You guys can’t be serious.” Dean kicked his feet down and cut you off. “Do you have any idea how long of a drive that is? It’s gotta be at least 20 hours.”
“Oh, come on. You’re telling me you guys have never made that kind of a drive for a case before? And what if it is something? High stakes robberies and a dead S.H.I.E.L.D. agent? It’s worth checking out, especially since it’s been ages since we’ve had a case. Even if it does turn out to be nothing, we can at least get out of the bunker for a while. And how cool would it be to get out of the Midwest and go some place like New York for a case?? Pleeeaaasseeee?”
After stating your argument, you leaned over to wrap yourself around Dean’s upper arm. Resting your head on his shoulder, you peeked from under your lashes to give him your very best puppy dog pout.
“She’s got a point, Dean,” Sam said gently. “It’s not like we’ve got anything else going on right now.”
Dean sucked in a large breath and held it for a moment as he debated.
“Fine,” he finally sighed.
“YES!” You jumped out of your chair and pumped one fist in the air like the last scene of The Breakfast Club. “Think we’ll see any of the Avengers? Oh! We should go see the Statue of Liberty!”
Sam laughed as he shut his laptop and rose from his seat. Dean simply shook his head and tried to suppress a smile. When the two of you stood up, he casually slung an arm around your shoulders and guided you down the hall to pack.
***
You groaned, stretching your arms to the sky as you bent this way and that. “Jeez, that was a long drive.”
“Yeah, well whose idea was that?” Dean grumbled as he slammed his door shut.
“Oh, don’t be a Grumpy Gus,” you snapped.
Sam had made some calls to the NYPD to get more information on the robberies, believing they were the best place to start. When you were about 20 miles south of the city limits, he received a call that there had been another bank robbery so you had stopped off at a gas station to change into your FBI clothes before arriving to the scene.
“Agents.” An officer nodded in acknowledgment as the three of you flashed your badges and slipped passed the police barricade. “Your timing is impeccable. I’m Lieutenant Hunt.”
Dean shook the man’s hand as he made introductions. “Lieutenant. I’m Agent Rossington and these are my associates, Burns and Collins. Any leads so far?”
“This one more than past robberies, actually.” He waved for you to follow him and turned to lead the way up the steps into the bank. “I’m surprised the Bureau took an interest in these robberies, but I’ve gotta say I’m glad because I’m at a loss. We’re starting to suspect it’s the work of some sort of organization. Can’t find a link between any of the suspects, but their families are beside themselves. Genuinely believe the individuals were good people and could never do such a thing…”
When he trailed off, you saw Sam snap his head to the side as he made some sort of connection. “Lieutenant, do you happen to know anything about the deceased police officer or S.H.I.E.L.D. agent?”
Lieutenant Hunt cleared his throat and paused before answering. “Not the agent. But the officer… He and I were in the same class at the Academy years ago. Good man. We stayed in touch over the years, even got together with our families for barbecues once in a while. When I heard he’d robbed a jewelry store at one of the shopping centers…”
“You found it hard to believe,” Sam finished for him. Lieutenant Hunt nodded but said nothing more.
You arrived at the security office and the policeman ushered you in the door. “Seems these individuals keep getting bolder. They don’t even bother wearing masks or avoiding cameras. This one is particularly interesting.”
He motioned to the security guard to play the footage of the robbery. A woman entered the front of the bank with a large automatic weapon in hand. She fired a few rounds in the air, prompting the patrons to panic and duck to the ground with their hands in the air. She pointed the weapon at one of the tellers, presumably demanding money. When the bag was full, she looked up at one of the cameras with a smirk before darting down a side corridor.
“We know who she is?” Dean asked.
“That’s where it gets interesting,” Lieutenant Hunt answered. “We looked her up and she’s a lower level S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Does some sort of data entry over at the Avengers Tower. Turns out she didn’t show up to work yesterday or this morning. She was in and out of here in just under 15 minutes and we’ve got no clue where she exited the building from. None of the alley or street cameras picked her up after she slipped through an office door in that side hall.”
“Can you run it back again and freeze on her face?” you asked.
The lieutenant quirked an eyebrow. “We already identified her but, uh, sure.”
The security guard ran the footage back and let it play through once more before hitting pause--at the precise moment her eyes flashed white. Dean shared a look with Sam before glancing at you. He licked his lips and pressed them into a firm line, trying to hide his impressed smile.
“Damn technology,” the guard muttered. He hit play before immediately pausing it again and the woman’s eyes returned to normal. “There we go.”
“Thank you, gentlemen,” you said while committing the woman’s face to memory. “I think it’s time we pay a little visit to the Avengers.”

These are the detailed reports of the person who saw the screening. There are two scenes when Patrick gives Tom a blowjob, one long scene where they have penetrative sex and you get back views of both men naked, and another nude scene which is post sex. Two short sex scenes for Tom/Marion, one under the blankets, one where both are topless.
People are welcome to read through and correct me if I've got it wrong though.

Nirvana in Fire 2, Episode 4: Recap
We are onto Episode 4 now. Thankfully the wonderful subbers at Viki (Yay Gone with the shirt Team!) have very quickly subbed 6 episodes. For the first 2 weeks, we will get 6 episodes on Viki and DF, whereas in the mainland 12 episodes have already been released.
I will be saving my thoughts till the end of this recap. An idea by a friend on Discord was also to include screencaps of new characters so I will try my best as I am on mobile. Onto the recap!
Last Episode:
In Episode 3, Pingjing and Lin Xi start their investigations into the military boat accident aided by Pingjing's cousin Xiao Yuanqi. They have a few nice martial arts fights, and now race against time and baddies Magistrate Zhang, Policeman Qian and Smug-as-fuck Private Assistant to one Minister Song Fu, PA Qin (whose real name is fire-wielding martial artist Duan Tongzhou). The clue to unraveling the case lies in material evidence - and in the one ship that is still sunken in the river.
Episode 4 recap:
- Pingjing and Lin Xi make their way over to the river to find the sunken ship, where Pingjing very casually takes his clothes off in front of Lin Xi. I know its fanservice to the audience at least a little bit, but credit to (the writer and) Lin Xi for not turning all hot and awkward like all asian-drama heroines usually do. Well, she is a doctor, not some blushing maiden, and she has had her hands up and around the gorgeous abs of Xiao Pingzhang which are much better than his brother's....you can see how easily I am distracted here.
- Lin Xi's focus however, is the ridic Bollywood betrothal longevity locket Pingjing is wearing, and she flashes back to her sickly mother with the same locket, telling Lin Xi to not care about the position of a noble's wife, but gain a husband she could live long with.
- Our little Divine Diving Dragon Pingjing has been in the water too long, which disconcerts Lin Xi, so the brat comes up to declare that he can dive for longer but he knows 'softhearted' Lin Xi will worry so he wants to show his face. Not a smart thing to say to women who can fling darts and poison you, little Dragon. Learn from great-grandpa's mistakes.
- However, Pingjing's diving abilities are no joke when he indeed brings up some evidence from below, including some wooden parts of the ship. Later, our trio of smols including Yuanqi, investigate the wood piece and find that it was covered with some sort of jelly, which is hardened when submerged underwater - but becomes brittle when struck with force. Translation, someone coated the ship's wood with this jelly knowing there would be a collision, and the jelly helped exacerbate the impact and cracks, finally sinking ships that should not have sunk. Yuanqi becomes angry and indignant at people who would dare play with people's lives like this. Oh honey, in the future it's gonna be you, it will be sad to see you on the dark side.
- In the meantime, PA Qin/Duan Tongzhou calls over Evil Policeman Qian, and makes him an offer - because he can feel that Magistrate Zhang has not been entirely truthful in their dealings and has kept some buried proof to find his own way out of this mess. PA Qin reminds Qian gently that he is different - which means that Zhang has family and would likely confess, where Qian would lose his life. However if Qian helps destroy the threat that Zhang poses, he can keep his head. Points to Qian however, because there is honour among thieves, and he asks PA Qin not to hurt Zhang who he has served for 8 years. In the night, Qian spies on Zhang removing and burning some secret correspondences he has saved under the floorboard.
- The next day, Yuanqi and Pingjing take stock of all the spies dressed as beggars outside Jifeng Hall, knowing that they are being watched and followed. The most important course of action now, is to wait and watch - however they worry about one witness who is yet to be protected, Magistrate Zhang himself, who Pingjing believes will be crucial to the investigation. Pingjing goes to meet Zhang.
- PA Qin/DT pays a visit to Zhang and threatens him sweetly by burning his letters to complete ashes in his hand just by crushing them! I found this so dangerous and cool, like this dude has so much power that he can burn shit at will. Zhang has no choice but to agree to these conditions.
- Yun-jie, the nurse from Jifeng Hall, delivers supplies to an old, dilapidated winery which is hiding our main witnesses, the physicians and the military boat captain. But she has been followed by PA Qin's lackey! He reports this to PA Qin, who looks smug as usual (I hate his face) and decides to take action. He asks Lackey to undertake another mission for him.
- PA Qin leads Qian and his men to the hideout, and Qian again asks if Magistrate Zhang will be all right. I know this is a small, possibly negligible detail of a minor character - but this is what I love about this show or NIF in general. Even the minor characters have ideas, behaviours and agendas. Qian could have been shown as a mindless lackey but he has a brain, he has conflicted emotions about this business and he is loyal to his master. These characters seem real and fleshed out, no matter how small their screen time.
- The Jifeng Hall spots Qian leading his men to the hideout, and immediately inform Lin Xi and Yuanqi. They are slightly at a loss what to do - when Yuanqi offers to risk his life, taking a few men to the hideout while Lin Xi gets Pingjing. The smols are in action mode!
- At the Magistrate's office, Zhang receives the news with resignation that Pingjing is here. But before he can meet him, PA Qin's lackey comes with a white silk cloth and we know what that means. As Magistrate Zhang is taking his last breaths, wham!bam! Pingjing appears and saves the day. He knocks out lackey in one blow, I am impressed!
- Yuanqi and a band of his men rush to the winery juuuust in the nick of time and face off against Qian and smug-looking PA Qin. He uses his royal status and declares the hideout/winery to belong to him, and how dare Qian come and infiltrate his land! PA Qin does not seem worried or fazed by Yuanqi, entering into a battle of laws (yawn, boring) but he needles some sort of hidden anger in Yuanqi, by declaring that the Emperor has not bestowed a feudal land upon him, so Yuanqi does not know the difference between imperial property and personally-purchased property.
- Now this could be a trifling detail, but Yuanqi gets so angry that when Leader Qian asks his men to go forth and search, he kills a man in cold blood, declaring that just because he is idle nobility does not mean he cannot take action. You go boy! Also another interesting detail, Yuanqi's hands are shaking and his eyes fill with moisture, indicating he is actually afraid of this whole situation but yet he is standing strong. It shows the nature of his character who gets pissed off when he is told he cannot do anything. Interesting.
- Pingjing and Lin Xi arrive! They bring Magistrate Zhang as a hostage and Leader Qian is a bit taken aback. Pingjing shows his official badge from the House of Changlin, but PA Qin even dares question it. A tense stand-off ensues (with a great comic moment where our favourite brat raps Zhang hard on the butt with his sword lol) but it is broken up by the arrival of reinforcements!
- It is General Yuan of the Changlin Army (who PJ calls Uncle Yuan) and General Ji of the Shanliu Army stationed in Qizhou. Vastly outnumbered, Duan Tongzhou puts his skills to the test, throwing steel darts at everybody. Pingjing and Lin Xi manage to avoid them, but Duan Tongzhou kills Policeman Qian specifically before wuxia flying away. Lin Xi looks at Magistrate Zhang and narrows her eyes, suspecting something.
- Pingjing is verrrry put out by the arrival of Uncle Yuan, because this means his dad has not trusted him and has been plotting behind the scenes! His father had suspected the imperial envoys would be scholarly ministers who could not deal with the situation, and he felt that local forces near to Datong could be colluding with Zhang and Duan, hence he dispatched Uncle Yuan to seek the help of high-ranking General Ji of faraway Qizhou who came to help. This family, oh my god. I swear I smell bits of Uncle MCS in Tingsheng and Pingjing - those Lin family genes!
- Lin Xi offers to accompany the doctors of Jifeng Hall who are witnesses as they have received a shock. Yun-jie (Princess Liyang NIF2 version) also asks to go with her to Jinling to see the city, but the soft music in the background is the sliiiighest bit ominous. Yun-jie don't go bad on us please!
- General Ji is unable to capture Duan Tongzhou after a night of searching, so the retinue finally departs for Jinling with the witnesses, Magistrate Zhang in cuffs and the smol trio of investigators. Pingjing is wary throughout the journey, suspecting something may happen soon. At one rest stop, Pingjing goes to interview Zhang, who has been very quiet but General Ji is already talking to hom - and weirdly distracts Pingjing by going - Oh look theres Lin Xi! Talk to her. Alarm bells start ringing, tra la la la la
- Pingjing spots Yuanqi who is having an unfortunate bout, trying to cope with shock and trauma. He has never killed a man before, he never knew blood was so warm. He asks Pingjing if he has killed before and the answer is silence - because Pingjing has already been in 2 battles unofficially. The cousins bond over a drink, and its kinda nice to see this kind of detail as well - a man dealing with his own struggles. I like this broship, its only gonna get sad from here. *sigh*
- The next day, they are travelling through the plains. Nothing much happens except Pingjing gives Lin Xi his cloak. Its sweet again, but not in a blushing, cute manner. Pingjing is perfectly natural in the way he acts, offering a coat to a friend and benefactor, and Lin Xi accepts it casually as well. Although we see signs that Lin Xi is warming up to him, its not a contrived romance, so +1 for that.
- Pingjing and Yuanqi hold another discussion where he elaborates to him how he smells something fishy. Duan Tongzhou had the opportunity and skills to kill Zhang at their last fight, but he ended Qian instead. What was the motive? Yuanqi and Pingjing both wonder.
- In the Palace, The Emperor, cute Crown Prince Xiao Yuanshi and the Empress are looking over his progress in studies as every Asian parent does. :P The Empress praises Rasputin/High Priest Pu to the Emperor, citing evil spirits were removed from the Crown Prince's body. The Emperor is unimpressed to the moon and back, and gently rebukes the Empress saying that he has allowed for altars and all this hocus-pocus (much more politely than me, I might add), but its not only the CP she should be thinking about, but the thousands of brave soldiers who died in the recent war, and to pray for Pingzhang's health. The Empress' face sours a bit but she has already planned some prayers.
- I must take a moment to say how beautiful and supremely graceful Mei Ting is in this Empress role. Her comportment is very regal, the way she moves her hands and all the subtle actions make her seem very very grand and impressive.
- So Pingjing and the retinue are now in a wooded area near the Capital, and Pingjing is waiting for something to happen. And so is bro Pingzhang, having reached the capital already and convalescing, thinking about where and when Pingjing will be attacked. We are introduced to his wife Meng Qianxue (the ridiculously attractive Tong Liya) who takes care of his health and his mind it seems, puzzling over the matter with her husband. End episode in the same way as NIF, abruptly - but at least they know how to do it better somewhat, and end near a cliffhanger.
Tong Liya as Meng Qianxue, wife of Xiao Pingzhang.

Thoughts:
A more plot-heavy episode definitely, and also some moments of the budding camaraderie between Lin Xi and Pingjing and Yuanqi.
What I am liking about NIF2, or maybe it is something NIF1 taught me to observe- are the details. There are many beautiful aesthetic details sure, but there are these tiny plot points and acting minutiae that catch me. As I stressed on the recap, Qian's loyalty to Zhang, Yuanqi dealing with the effects of his actions, Lin Xi's subtle observations and the Empress' very perfect demeanour hiding her ill will - its all very well executed.
I would also like to state how ridic and amazing Tong Liya is in the one scene she appears now. I have only seen her in two melo romcoms where she was a very sad heroine beleaguered by life and slapped around by men, and to see her smiling and so cute! Her chemistry with Huang Xiaoming is very natural too.
I think I wont stop raving about the Xiao family's natural warmth with each other. It doesnt seem forced at all.
That being said, now the pacing is a bit sedate for me. I discussed this with a friend and she indicated that if I go back and watch NIF there are many episodes where much doesnt happen in the foreground, but the wheels are always spinning in the background. I am all for giving NIF2 a chance - and I dont think it is required to live up to NIF, considering how classic that show is, and How personally the UST and pain between MCS and Jingyan is a very very main driver of the show for me.
NIF2 does not have that UST for me, but it does have detailed characters, plots that seem reasonable and are exposed very well, a whole galaxy of competent characters. (can i mention how much I love competence kink? But I am shit at writing it!)
I don't know what I will take away from NIF2 towards the end, but right now its the competent men and women, and the lovely family bonds we never got to experience in NIF BECAUSE THEY ALL DIED. (Okay Nihuang and Mu Qing you are an exception).
Thanks for reading, if anybody is reading that is! :)

Hello Supercult West! This is Supercult South Bad Movie Professor Cameron Coker (BS in “Signoffs” with a minor in “Fun While It Lasted”) and I’m reaching out to you from across the country to help hype tonight’s screening of The Supercult Super Dub of The Cat!

HAHA! Look at all these slack jawed people looking at this animal-themed mobile!
1990s lightning effects! Woo!
That is a girl not a cat. I was under the assumption that this was a solo act of the broadway musical CATS
Alright, captions, here we go… uh…the CAT! It’s a movie and this is a poster for that movie!
Yes. I understand this scene. It is the part where the characters try to clean the cat’s litter box.
Oh god! The Cat allergens! They’re EVERYWHERE!
I…I don’t know. I’m lost. Let’s just move on.
As we all know, The Cat, released in 1992, is a pretty unremarkable film. It was directed by Ngai Choi Lam, the same man behind Supercult Classic Ricki-Oh, and the story is somehow connected to Supercult Classic the Seventh Curst by way of the recurring character Wisely, hence The Cat is also known as Wisely’s Old Cat in Chinese. Other than that, this is your standard king-fu cat scenario. As one reviewer on Rotten Tomatoes put it, “Nothing Special about this movie, Asian Sci Fi is what I would call it, Might keep the interest of someone between the ages of 10-15. A Space Cat comes to Earth to chase away thr evil Monster from outer Space. There is a dog and cat fight in the movie that makes this movie worth watching, Also the Cat has 2 Human Type Friends, a very beautiful girl and a Old Man, Its slow in parts, good subtitles. 3 Stars”
youtube
Supercult first screened The Cat back in May 2019 as a double feature with Christopher Walken’s Puss in Boots. We watched Puss in Boots first (great film by the way, Christopher Walken is a cat, he’s a kitty cat, and he meow, meow, meows and he meow, meow, meows!) but then when we got to The Cat we found that the Youtube link for the film was no longer working. One of our members performed an arcane ritual to grab a DVD rip of the film on short notice, but the only subtitles for this violently Chinese film were in Spanish. SO, like any enterprising, digitally savvy, bad-movie-watching audience, we ran the subtitles through a translation app, popped them back onto the video, and spent the next hour and a half watching a movie with mistranslated, desynched subtitles that had suddenly gone from baffling to Supercult Classic Furious levels of bewildering.

After such a rough time the sunk cost fallacy started kicking in. The Supercult show runners looked at each other, looked at The Cat, then back to each other and said, “Screw it. Let’s just dub it ourselves.” One $30 mic, a handful of recording sessions, several gallons of alcohol, a deep learning program for removing lyrics from songs, some editing #skillz, and a year and a half later and our Frankenstein’s monster of a film is finally complete. We even stuck a Supercult bumper and jingle to the front of the film. We might as well have bought the thing on VHS on sale from a Supercult themed thrift shop!

It’s a momentous day in Supercult history, folks. It is also my last day as Supercult Bad Movie Professor! Since I received tenure in 2013, I have written over 275 Supercult Speeches for everything from Hell Comes to Frogtown, my very first speech, to what seems like a dozen different speeches for the same damn movie: Super Happy Fun Monkey Bash. We’ve seen some good movies, some bad movies, and some stuff in between, but even if the movie put us to sleep, it was never boring with an audience as great as the one we have for Supercult.
So, without further ado, I resign my position as Supercult Bad Movie Professor and Supercult West proudly presents the Supercult Super Dub of The Cat!
