As far as walkback/apology videos go, I think that this one was really solid in terms of how it handled everything! Here's why I think that:

1. They were straight to the point, no beating around the bush. It was a 4 minute video, and they started addressing stuff right out of the gate.

2. They actually apologized. Not an "ohhh I'm sorry you all didn't understand our vision" but an actual "we messed up" and "we're sorry for the way we handled this as well as the way we communicated it" (those last two are actual quotes)

3. They addressed many of the specific concerns we've been having (although not all of them; I'm sure some need a little more planning) which shows that they were actively listening to us. They addressed:

-Us feeling like our current support was not appreciated by them/that they were shunning their youtube audience

-The poor delivery of the original video (I think they probably could have said a little more about this one but I digress, they still addressed it)

-their statement about how anyone could afford 5.99 a month

-how they kinda screwed over their Patreon when they did this

-Exactly why they decided to do this, clarifying more than just saying "we wanted higher/more tv-quality content"

4. They gave a plan of DIRECT ACTION as to how to fix the problems:

-they gave their patrons free access to watcher TV

-they changed the model of watcher TV so that videos are placed on YouTube, with ads, 1 month after they're released on watcher TV without ads

-they've offered refunds for anyone who already paid for watcher TV who isn't down with the new model.

Overall, while I'm still a little wary of them given their initial release of this, this is a really big and honestly well-done step in setting it to rights.

I think one of the reasons Aziraphale has become so enamored with humanity is that it gives him an opportunity to “choose your own adventure”. He’s spent his entire existence placed in a box but on earth he is able to be whoever the hell he wants to be. A west end magician, a journalist/newspaperman, a bookseller, anything but just another one of heaven’s lackeys. Being amongst humans gives him the ability to choose who he is. Sure, Crowley was pushed into the same mold but he chose to escape heaven and, in the scheme of things, hell may be harsher with punishment but demons probably have a bit more free rein when it comes to making choices. Aziraphale has constantly been pushed into one mold and humanity gives him some kind of autonomy to be something more than just the angel of the Eastern gate.

Maybe Crowley fell in love with the universe because he helped create it and Aziraphale fell in love with the universe because it helped make him.

Is he your age and are you figuring life out together as a team?

Is he just a couple of years older? Stronger and wiser, but still easily relatable? Or maybe he's older, but a hopeless mess of a man?

Is he an incomprehensibly older being whose age you cannot possibly relate to, but who still manages to find some common ground with you?

And maybe he's younger? For example, are YOU a hundreds of years old entity while Sans is just a common mortal man?

Hello! I come with some good news! In the EU, a law has been passed restricting generative AIs (particularly ones that pose a high risk). I hope other areas in the world follow suit, but this is huge! It'll take a while to be applied as well, though this is still a major win for everyone.

So, in World's Finest: Teen Titans, there's this scene where Bruce and Dick are discussing why Dick cannot go to the Teen Titans Convention with his friends, while Bruce is working on the Batmobile. (It's weirdly domestic even if they are in costume and speaking about being vigilante, because it's literally a teen being "Yeah, I know it's dangerous and a bad idea, but I still want to do it and hang out with my friend! Pls, let me go???" to his father who is fixing the car. I love it.)

And I couldn't stop thinking about how Jason loves cars, and all the time he and Bruce must have passed together working on the Batmobile. Dick sticks around but he isn't helping, and neither does Tim or Damian later, they aren't interested. Jason "stole the Batmobile's tires" Todd, Jason "told Two Faces his car is tacky" Todd must have asked if he could look and learn, and help, and Bruce taught him and let him with a small smile. Numerous good times between father and son, working on the Batmobile, while Jason talks about his day at school.

Jason who comes back and knows the Batmobile so well he tries to blew it up to kill Batman, before changing his mind (it's because he loves the car, he tells himself). Bruce getting a brand new Batmobile after Jason's death because working on the one he worked on with Jason hurts. Now, she sits in a conner of the garage of the batcave, and when Jason comes by for the first time, he recognizes the old car. Bruce breaking down everytime he works on his car in the months following Jason's death, because he is so used to having the kid helps and chats with him. Bruce offering to Jason to help him fix the Batmobile when they are trying to fix their relationship, and father and son falling back into the comfort of working together on the car.

The other day, me and a few others were talking to a teenage cousin of ours who had just entered the work force full-time. Incidentally, he had also just come back from his week of vacation. He was incredibly upset and near tears, saying that it is terrible how he has to spend every day working and his only "life" gets to happen in his designated 1-2 weeks off per year, and, in his words, "then you die."

A lot of the people listening in started laughing at him and saying that he needs to "grow up and get used to it." How brainwashed do you have to be to say these things, especially to a kid in distress? And especially when the kid is right? He is absolutely, 100% right.

We have so much evidence that this set up is not healthy physically or psychologically. We could absolutely find better ways to ensure things get done without making people feel like overused machines. Everything we do as humans should be about making our lives happier and easier so that we can enjoy this precious little time we have. Everything we do now is instead about making the select few happier while everyone else suffers.

Don't "grow up and get used to it." Keep that youthful feeling of injustice when you realize how unfair it all is. This is not natural. People made society this way and we can unmake it.
