𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐘𝐀 𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐀
— Dwarkadhish x Dwarakeshwari
Tumblr media
🦚 SYNOPSIS : When Krishna can't see his priya frowning in sadness, so, he comes up with a way to cheer her up.
🦚 KAMAL'S NOTE : This is just a work of fiction and nothing to do with the actual events. I just wanted to write something for Maa Rukmini and Krishna since there is not much. Hopefully I didn't cross the line. This fic made me hate the word 'hand' to be honest 😮‍💨. The devider is from this post.
Kamalnayan = Lotus like eyes, Sri = Mahalakshmi/Rukmini, Nupur = Anklet, Aradhya = Adored one, Arya = Honorable one.
Tumblr media
Sweet wind blew past the raven locks, forcing them to dance on the rhythm with it. Dwarakeshwari, Rukmini Maharani, sat on the edge of the majestic water fountain. Her hand playing with the rippling cold water. The full moon shone brightly in the night's sky. The reflection of the moon in the water made Rukmini appear glowing.
Everything happened so suddenly. One day, she was writing a letter to Kanha to come and save her and the next she is now married to the said Manohari. Few days ago she came to Dwarka with her husband. People here are loving and welcoming to her but Rukmini could not help but miss her father and brothers.
Since day one she was their beloved princess but everything changed when Rukmi decided to prioritise his political friends and hate towards Krishna over her. Going against Rukmini, he rejected Krishna when he asked for her hand in marriage and then he fixed her marriage to that demon, Shishupal. Still, Rukmini loved her brother and wanted the best for them.
"Can't sleep?"
A sweet voice broke the silence of the night. Her hand stopped it's action. Rukmini heard quite footsteps advancing towards her as her heartbeat sped up. Even after loving him for years and being married to hi, Rukmini couldn't help but blush whenever he was around her.
Krishna walked up to Rukmini and sat right behind her. Their eyes met through the waters reflection but Rukmini averted her eyes away as a feeling of shyness took over, making Krishna chuckle. His wife, his Sri, can look into others eyes and put them in their places but she can't even look her Shyam. Oh! How much he yearns to see those beautiful kamalnayan.
"Could not sleep?" Krishna asked again, this time even more softer.
Rukmini nodded her head, giving him a quiet 'hum'. Krishna dipped his hand in water. Taking her hand in his, Krishna swayed them, feeling water pass through their fingers.
"So, what is bothering my beloved?"
Rukmini remained silent for a moment before speaking, "I was thinking about my people back home."
"Is that so?" Krishna wishpered, "Do you regret marrying me and coming he—"
Before he could finish, Rukmini had turned around and slammed her hand over his mouth, "What are you saying Madhav? I can never."
Rukmini felt his lips curling up into a smile against her palm. Krishna held her hand by his both hands and brought them down. But instead of letting go, Krishna clutches it even firmer.
"You are finally looking at me."
Rukmini gasped at the realisation and all the heat raised up her cheeks. As she quickly looked, Krishna took her chin between two fingers and made her face him again. Rukmini kept her head down.
Hay Bhagwan! My shy wife. Madhav thought to himself.
"Would you like to go somewhere......With me?" Krishna asked.
Rukmini nodded her head without any hesitation. Krishna stood up and held out a hand for her, "Sri?"
Rukmini placed her hand in and got up. Then Krishna started leading them out of the golden palace. They walked for at least 60 vighaṭi but neither of them seemed to mind. By day Krishna is mostly busy with work and Rukmini also has to play the mother goddess she is.
They don't get much time to spend together other than the night. They walked through the furnished road, hand in hand, under the starry night. At the end of the city was a forest. Krishna led her into it.
Moonlight failed to enter through the cover of tall tree branches. As the forest went darker, Rukmini, unknowingly, brought herself closer to Krishna. Though Krishna saw that, he didn't say anything because seeing how shy his Sri is, she might pull away.
"How far is the place, Madhav?" Rukmini asked when the road seemed to be endless. They couldn't stay out long. As the king and queen of Dwarka, work was already on their shoulders.
"Just a little more Sri." Krishna whispered, giving her hand a firm squeeze.
They walked a little more when Krishna suddenly stopped. Rukmini looked at him confused. Krishna released her hand and held up the jewelled flute. As Rukmini held the flute with care, Krishna went behind her and palmed over her eyes.
"Ma-Madhav?"
"Just a little more to go." Krishna whispered in her ear.
Rukmini trusted and started forwarding. Losing the ability to see, her other senses became stronger. The forest was silent. The sweet sound of their nupur chiming echoed through the silent woodland accompanied by occasional hooting of owls.
Krishna came to an abrupt stop, "Ready?"
Rukmini nodded impatiently, "Yes, Madhav."
Krishna slowly removed his hands. A bright light blinded Rukmini for a moment. She blinked her eyes to adjust to the light and when she saw scenery before her all she could do was gasp in surprise.
The place was glowing compared to the rest of the dark forest. Fireflies dancing with each other. Beautiful flowers are blooming all over the place. Birds like peacocks, parrots, owls, flying like it's broad daylight. Then there is deers, red panda, horses and many more playing like friends.
"Madhav, what place is this? This looks like it is Vaikuntha."
"This place is Divya aranya. Do you like it?"
"This place is heavenly. Why didn't you bring me here earlier?" Rukmini breathed out, failing to look away.
Krishna sat on the ground with his hack leaning on a big tree. While Rukmini admired the magical forest, Krishna admired his ārādhya. Her eyes sparkled like gold, taking in everything. When she was done she came and sat beside Madhav.
"How did this come here?" Rukmini felt like a child, seeing the world for the first time even though she herself was Devi Mahalakshmi.
"That…….is a story for another time. Just know that there was this man who created this place because he couldn't see his priya frowning in sadness." Mischievousness swimmed in his eyes.
Rukmini smiled with a knowing look. She really had completely forgotten about her previous sadness with her brother. Which gave Krishna relief. The last thing he wanted was for her to be sad. That too in his presence.
Rukmini felt a different sense of boldness as she dropped her head on his shoulder. When the sun goes up they will be pulled into the same work routine. So, Rukmini wanted to savour these moments as much as possible.
"Can we stay here a little longer?" Rukmini asked softly and he replied back, "As long as you want."
Rukmini's eyes fell on the flute in her hand, the divine flute that everyone praises.
"Arya, you have never played your flute for me, have you?"
Krishna laughed, "Every rag, every sur, every dhun that I play, is for you, my Sri. If not you, then I have no reason to even exist."
He sure is a ladies' man. Rukmini thought as her cheeks became red.
Rukmini gave him his flute back, "Play something for me, won't you, Arya?"
"Anything for you, Sri."
Krishna took the flute, placing his lips on it, he started playing the most madhur dhun she had ever heard. The aranya became more joyful, birds danced with the melody, animals became hypnotised with how enchanting it was.
And Darkeswari drifted into the dreamland with her head resting on her beloved's shoulder and hearing the madhur dhun.

History, such a fickle thing. Tales of conquerors and the conquered, good and evil, where often, the conquered are ignored. The historical account of the Mahabharata, a great book written by the spiritual rishi, Ved Vyas, the incarnation of Narayan. Perfect by all accounts, or is it? What about the Kauravas and their associates? Duryodhan, Karn, Bhanumati, Vrushali, Gandhari, Dhritarashtra, Shakuni and Aswatthama and many more were ignored by Vyasadeva. Keshav, Kounteya and Krishna. Madhav, Mahanayak and Mahabharati were the main focus of the Mahabharata. In this book, however, I'll attempt to potray the Mahabharata through a different perspective.

The Yadava Curse
A/N: Before reading this I feel the need to warn you that this ends sadly. Also, it’s my first time making a header/moodboard, go easy on me! Crossposted on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25838302
Hindu Mytho Event: Day 2 Canon Divergence & Day 3 Female Characters
Tumblr media
In hindsight, Rukmini convinced herself that it was better that her son be the one to cause the strife. Pradyumna grew up too quickly, always wanting to be at his father’s side, ready to fight or reason regardless of whether two states were at war or two brothers fighting over the last mango. Rukmini spent any free time she had worrying about her son who never played pranks, never caused her any worry. He, luckily, hadn’t inherited that from his father. He showed too much of an interest in her work even at a tender age, though, she reckoned, that was partially her fault. She had sat in the Dwarka Yadava council right up until she gave birth, and even after, nursing him while court was in session, much to the chagrin of all the elders. (What could they say? Chief wife of Narayan Shri Krishna, Lakshmi on Earth? She held the power. Pradyumna would stay.)
So when Samba, he, of course, would be the troublemaker of all the Yadava kids, took him to the lower city to “rakhad,” she was more than overjoyed, though she wouldn’t show it. She had a reputation to maintain.
She could remember it vividly, Samba running up to her, Pradyumna in tow, “Can we go into the lower city Badi maa?”
“Kyun?”
“Bas aise! Rakhad ne ke liye!”
She hadn’t thought anything of it, “Of course beta! Take the guards with you!”
But what Samba had proposed next had been a surprise, “Nahi Badimaa! Not with guards! In disguise!”
Rukmini had glanced up sharply, ready to turn that idea down but Samba cut her off, “Pitaji used to go! He still tries to go, but everyone recognizes his Gopala disguise...”
She hid a smile; the younger boy was right, and more observant than she was aware. Krishna tended to step out from time to time, disguised in a getup from his childhood days. Both Pradyumna and Samba, though, had taken after their mothers in looks, not her husband; they would be unnoticed.
“Accha fine, but be careful!” With a quick smile and a rushed hug, Samba had run off, tugging Pradyumna along, her next words falling on deaf ears, “And no disturbing the rushis near the temple grounds!”
Rukmini had warned them. She had. Regardless of what the other raanis had said, she had warned the sons. But the curse was set. She never heard the full story, all she knew was: Pradyumna dressed as a pregnant woman, Samba’s mace under his angavastram, and a prank that went very wrong. She had seen her son after, face ashen and eyes red from crying. She had hugged him and comforted him as he clutched her like a newborn baby. She had heard him choke out that it was his fault that he had play acted, his fault that the sages were angered at his prank, and his fault that their family was doomed to death. She had held him tightly, wiping his tears, shushing him until he stopped sniffling. Samba and Jambavati had joined them in her chambers, the three of them worrying and crying, while she comforted and quieted them until her husband came back.
When Krishna came home, Pradyumna, though almost 18, had rushed into his father’s embrace, sobbing openly, soaking the Pitambar in tears. Krishna had just laughed, sitting him down. “Beta, wipe your tears. What happened, has happened. Why worry about something you no longer have control over?”
And that had been that. He was Narayan, and she was Lakshmi, but even they had no sway on destiny, no one did.
On the orders of the council, the mace had been ground up into ashes and thrown into the ocean, the clothes burned, the incident forgotten. But Rukmini never forgot. It wasn’t in her nature. She remembered everything for years and years, and waited calmly until the day that Krishna left one last time, the day of the family picnic. He had held her tightly, too tightly. He had kissed her deeply, too deeply. He had whispered the words, “I’ll see you in Vaikunta.” And then he had left, never to be seen by her in those eyes again. With a sinking feeling, she had gotten ready for the picnic, ready for her death.
She remembered it all, the merriment among the Yadava clan, the plentiful food, the joyful music and especially the overflowing wine. She remembered how a provoking word had been said by someone unimportant, and she remembered how the wine turned family against family, their own civil war. She remembered watching as the rest of the Ashtabharya also took up arms, Satyabhama in her element, fiery sword slashing this way and that. She remembered walking away from the carnage to her own chariot. She would not die this way.
She had caught the reins herself, urging the horses forward as she ruminated in her thoughts. Yes. It was a good thing that Pradyumna at least lived and pranked once, even though it was disastrous. Yes. It was good that he had been free if only for a moment. She would miss him; her son, another form of Narayana.
She made her way to the cliff she had decided would be her final step on Earth. It was far enough away that she could not see the bloodshed, but close enough to hear it. She had delayed it as long as she could, taking in her surroundings. She had let her horses go, the creatures could not be bound to a chariot for long, and then she was truly alone.
The sea, her father in another lifetime, was dark, reflecting the sky above. How quickly the skies had turned cloudy and dark. Not hours ago they had painted a different picture entirely. She felt a deep sadness, loneliness, she truly would die alone in this life. And then she remembered something Krishna had told her. Mata Yashoda had said that her Shyam would never leave her as long as the skies still turned dark. Rukmini looked up once more, at the skies and thought of her Shyam, her Krishna, her Narayan. She walked up, right to the edge of the cliff, eyes not leaving the sky, finding Shyam in every last shadow and movement of the clouds. She saw his arms reach out to her, beckoning her forward into the clouds. And then, still looking up, still thinking of her Krishna, she took the last step off the cliff, plunging into the depths below.
As she fell, she thought not of Pradyumna, Samba and the rest of her family, dying and decaying on the beach nearby. She thought not of the circumstances that lead her here, the mace, the prank, destiny’s revenge. She thought only of her Shyam, her Krishna. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. In the same way, she would return, the Lakshmi to her Narayan, reunited once again.

Review: Parents are always expected to work hard to present a better or a comfortable life to their children. But how acceptable is when children take up the responsibility to better the lives of their parents? Such an unusual yet interesting question is explored in Sudesh Manjrekar’s Kutumb. The characters and some of the events surely succeed in moving the audience but due to the writing and execution (in some parts), the film turns out to be just a one-time watch.
During the initial moments, the writers and the director use the visual medium very intelligently. The nature of the four characters, the love between them, their problems and their everyday life is described without much use of dialogues. And once Siddharth Jadhav’s character is introduced, the proceedings get a booster. But there was no need to include two songs without any gap to prove the dancing skills of the two kids. Despite that, the first half manages to lay a decent foundation.
Kutumb Marathi Movie 2006 Watch
The events that follow are appealing alright. But now the film starts treading on predictable lines. An over-emotional scene (not possible to reveal more), involving one of the main characters, appears silly. But what hurts the most is how the audience is made to watch a dance reality show for a long duration later on. The pre-climax and the climax should have been framed in a way that it gets the audience rooting for the kids.
A very interesting fact is observed in a number of Mahesh Manjrekar’s films including Kutumb. The main protagonist receives tremendous help from a supporting character who is Muslim by religion. Apart from Kutumb (where Jadhav plays Joshi’s friend), this is seen in his earlier films Kurukshetra, Viruddh, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi!, Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy and Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho. Co-incidentally, in three of the six films mentioned, Jadhav has played the concerned character.
Technical aspects like cinematography (Ajith Reddy) and background score can be included in the plus points. The editing is fine but it should have been tighter during the dance reality show scenes. Ajit-Sameer and Abhijit Kawthalkar’s music suits the film. Dialogues (Pravin Tarde) are effective and moving.
The performance area is the biggest plus point. Jitendra Joshi is brilliant as he pours his heart out while playing a caring father and husband. He is on a roll this year. Vena Janmkar too gets into the skin of her character with perfection and presents a realistic act. Gauri Ingawale and Mihir Soni deserve huge applause for not only giving mature performances but also showing some terrific dancing skills.
Siddharth Jadhav presents a lovable act. Manasi Naik is likable too. Vaibhav Mangale plays the bad guy well while Bhalchandra Kadam, his sidekick, is not bad either.
Overall, Kutumb can be seen once if you prefer emotional family dramas. The film will need positive word-of-mouth to succeed at the box-office. It will face opposition from next week’s awaited No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey.

Some of the cameos included that of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya who played his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Mohan Babu played S. V. Ranga Rao, Prakash Raj played Aluri Chakrapani, Krish was K. V. Reddy, Srinivas Avasarala was L. V. Prasad, Sandeep Vanga was seen as Adurthi Subba Rao, Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam was Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and Sai Madhav Burra played Pingali Nagendra Rao. N. T. Rama Rao was brought to life using special effects and a body double. The film opened to rave reviews. Talking about her role in an interview, Keerthy reportedly said that it was a life lesson to play the role of a real-life character like that of legendary actress Savitri. She said after playing Savitri, she understood the importance of relations and friendships and added she would never make the mistakes Savitri made with her life and career.

The Dirty Picture (2011)
Directed by Milan Luthria, the film was reportedly based on the life of sex symbol Silk Smitha belonging to the South industry, who was known for her raunchy numbers. The film depicted her life from that of being an extra in the film to that of being one of the most sought after and popular actresses around. Vidya Balan was unconventionally cast against type as the central character and to the surprise of everyone wowed both the masses and the critics alike. The film opened to packed houses and Vidya also won the Filmfare Award for her powerhouse performance. Speaking about her role during the promotions of the film, Vidya had this to say, “I have never enjoyed being a woman more than I did while shooting for The Dirty Picture. I wasn’t uncomfortable doing bold scenes because I knew I was in trusted hands.”

My Week with Marilyn (2011)
My Week with Marilyn is a 2011 British drama film directed by Simon Curtis and written by Adrian Hodges. It stars Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne, Dominic Cooper, Julia Ormond, Emma Watson and Judi Dench. Based on two books by Colin Clark, it depicts the making of the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl, which starred Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier. The film focuses on the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around London by Clark (Eddie Redmayne), after her husband, Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott), had left the country. The film is based on Colin Clark’s The Prince, The Showgirl and Me and My Week with Marilyn; two diary accounts, which document his time on the set of the 1957 film. Monroe and Olivier, who is considered the most gifted Shakespearean actor of all time, didn’t reportedly get along during the shooting of the film in 1956. At that point of time, Monroe found a sympathetic ear in form of British writer and filmmaker Colin Clark. Kenneth Branagh played Olivier in the film. Celebrated actress Michelle Williams was lauded by the critics for her true to life depiction of Monroe and won an Oscar nomination for it. In an interview given at the time, she mentioned she was kind of apprehensive of the whole thing and spent around six months trying to talk herself out of it. “But, in the end, there was a kind of inevitability. It was the kind of part I was born to challenge myself with…”

The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004)
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers is a 2004 British/American film about the life of English comedy actor Peter Sellers, based on Roger Lewis’s book of the same name. It was directed by Stephen Hopkins and starred Geoffrey Rush as Sellers, Miriam Margolyes as his mother Peg Sellers, Emily Watson as his first wife Anne Howe, Charlize Theron as his second wife Britt Ekland, John Lithgow as Blake Edwards, Stephen Fry as Maurice Woodruff and Stanley Tucci as Stanley Kubrick. Though the film met with positive reviews, both Britt Ekland, Sellers’ second wife and Lord Snowdon, a close friend criticised it for different reasons, though both agreed that the Sellers they saw on screen wasn’t the Sellers they knew in real life. Film critics were more generous in their praise and Rush won the Emmy for his performance. Geoffrey Rush reportedly tried on 38 wigs and 40 voices to get his impression of the dark genius right. Parallels with his own life were drawn at the time but Rush refuted them saying his own life wasn’t as dark and troubled as Sellers’. It was a tough challenge for Rush to be Sellers as the script by Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus had Sellers inhabiting the various characters who shape his life. It must have been tough both physically and mentally but Fry somehow overcame the difficulties and gave a wonderful performance. “Some people find the idea of the Sellers character playing various people in the film weird or disconcerting,” Rush said in an interview. “I always found it terrific.”
Tumblr media
Iruvar (1997)
The film was loosely based on the life and times of MGR and Karunanidhi, though Mani Ratnam never officially commented on that. MGR was brought to life by Mohanlal in one of his most sublime performances while Prakash Raj gave his career’s best performance as the poet-politician Tamizhselvan and won a National Award for the same. Aishwarya Rai made her big screen debut through this film and played the dual role of Jayalalitha and Mohanlal’s wife.  Talking about the role in an interview with a daily, Mohanlal commented Iruvar offered him an entire lifespan of a character. He liked the role as it had a lot of variations. Prakash Raj, who was trying to make a mark outside of Kannada films, too said Iruvar helped him take the next big step in his career. The film is described by some to be the finest film directed by Mani Ratnam.
Tumblr media
Chaplin (1992)
Chaplin is a 1992 British-American biographical comedy-drama film about the life of British comedian Charlie Chaplin. It was produced and directed by Richard Attenborough and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Marisa Tomei, Dan Aykroyd, Penelope Ann Miller, and Kevin Kline. It also features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of her own paternal grandmother, Hannah Chaplin. The film was adapted by William Boyd, Bryan Forbes and William Goldman from the books My Autobiography by Chaplin and Chaplin: His Life and Art by film critic David Robinson. It was a role of a lifetime at the time for Downey, who is known today as Iron Man. He was a no-name actor with allegedly no professional training who reportedly aced the screen test in a field consisting of 30 known actors. Director Richard Attenborough described him thus at the time – “This little Brat Pack gadfly with virtually no discipline.” The film opened to mostly positive reviews and Downey was praised for his sensitive portrayal of the troubled genius that was Chaplin. He was nominated for the Oscars but like Chaplin himself, who never won an acting honour at the Academy Awards,  he too didn’t win. But he did win the BAFTA in the Best Actor category.
Tumblr media
Bhumika (1977)
Bhumika is a 1977 film directed by Shyam Benegal. The film stars Smita Patil, Amol Palekar, Anant Nag, Naseeruddin Shah and Amrish Puri. The film is based on the memoir, Sangte Aika of the well-known Marathi stage and screen actress of the ’40s Hansa Wadkar, who led a flamboyant and unconventional life. The film won two National Film Awards — Smita Patil won the National Award for her power packed performance and it also won the Best Screenplay Award. It won the Filmfare Best Movie Award as well. It was invited to Carthage Film Festival 1978, as also to the Chicago Film Festival, where it was awarded the Golden Plaque in 1978. The story moves back and forth across flashbacks to the early life of Wadkar. Apart from the non-linear narrative, the film also employed the film within a film device. The film was lauded by the critics and Smita Patil’s performance continues to get praised. Some say it’s her career best performance. In an interview with Filmfare, this is what Shyam Benegal said about Smita’s role in Bhumika. “Initially, I had considered Shabana for Bhumika (1977) too but Smita’s body language and dialect seemed culturally apt for her Maharashtrian character. Bhumika, based on the life of Marathi actress Hansa Wadkar, required Smita’s visual presence from the beginning to the end…”

For the Hindu Mythology Event: Day 4 -  Male Mythical Characters
For my beloved, Shyam. Happy Birthday! Thank you for being with me for the past 24 years, I hope I can feel your presence for the rest of my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Jai Shri Krishna!
This is one of my favorite Gujarati bhajans that is actually usually sung during raas-dandiya/garba! It tells the story of how Krishna and Sudama meet years after they leave their Gurukul. It’s a beautiful story that I thought about writing, but if the bhajan is already so beautiful then it’s futile 😂 Side note, this bhajan makes me sob actual tears, and there’s just one other bhajan, sung by my Baa that makes me sob like a baby. It’s heart tugging... maybe I’ll sing it one day!
Yes, this is actually me singing, and yes, I’m a tad pitchy. It’s late, and I kind of just slapped it together in one take. I unfortunately can’t play this on the keyboard as well as my father or I would’ve tried! Maybe one day, I’ll have my brother play tabla and my father do chords so I can do the bhajan justice. But until then, Enjoy! I get super self conscious about my singing because I don’t usually sing for people often, but if you guys like it then maybe I’ll do more!

Krishna Headcanon #1
A/N: lmao this is just full pining hours. Enjoy! (Unedited)
You couldn’t believe you were here again. Yes their chai was great but it was so far away from your place, and yet still you could do nothing but hope, gently tracing the keychain in your pocket. Internally you groaned, trying to push your thoughts away from that day two weeks ago. It had been two weeks but that smirk was seared in your brain. You couldn’t help but think about his dark complexion, the yellow sweater offsetting it beautifully. You couldn’t stop yourself from fantasizing about his hair, curly and lush and just a little long. How would it feel wrapped in your fingers? God you didn’t even know his name but the hope of meeting him made your heart beat over and over, your legs dragging you, against better judgement, to the overpriced, way-too-far-away coffee shop on the off chance the man might return.
Logically you knew this was a dumb idea, he could’ve just been traveling. Plus this city was huge, what’s to say he would ever return. But he knew the owner by name, calling him “Bheem bhaiyya.” You had asked the cashier once or twice but not wanting to seem desperate, (even though you were. You SO were) you gave up on that endeavor quickly. Lost in the haze of your thoughts, you didn’t even notice until the cashier, a friendly university student named Sahdev caught your attention. “Y/n-ji? Do you want your regular?” Before you could even speak though, the front door jingled open. In the relatively empty shop, the noise echoed and reflexively you turned your head to see who had come through.
The man’s head was turned but you could recognize those curls anywhere. He had been laughing at something, the voice deep and mellow, and you shivered, the laugh both cooking and warming you. Time turned slow as he turned back, walking into the store. He had on another yellow sweater today, the white collars of his shirt framing his neck. He had on thick framed glasses too, making his eyes appear even more expressive and you almost swooned, he looked like a handsome, yet typical, hipster. You still hadn’t seen his full face, only his profile as he rummaged through this crossbody, pulling out his wallet, but it still stole your breath away, your heart beat racing as you finally, finally found the man who had forced his way into your every thought.

1, 6, 17, 18 for the WIP asks!
Thank you for the asks Niii <3
Fair warning I have many WIP’s rn, but there are two that I’m super excited about and they’re chunky bois! So I chose the MBH one for this :)
1.     What made you write your WIP?
Honestly, it had been an idea I had been toying with for a really long time. When StarBharat had just come out, some of the older gen mbh fandom (Ananya di,  Mrunmayi di and Anushree and definitely people I am forgetting) wrote those characters in modern day. My idea was to add a reader insert mostly so I could live out my fantasy of being Krishna’s lover.
6.     Is your WIP part of a series or standalone?
Ahhh, for now, standalone, but it might end up being an anthology because I cannot seem too write in chronological order. Like I just CAN’T and I HATE it because chronologically it seems much easier and I just like making things hard on myself.
17.     Post the last line you wrote in your WIP
Krishna chuckled wryly, pushing his hand through his curly hair. “Plus the division was saved!”
18.     Give a brief character description of your main characters.
AHAHA BRIEF? Impossible! But I will name the main characters in my story: Krishna Vaasudev Yaadav (Of course), You/reader as Rukmini Vidarbhi, Arjun Pandu Kuru, Subhadra Vaasudev Yaadav, and then the rest of the MBH characters!

Quote
Breathless is how I live my days, But letters of love I write at night. Even the moon lights the sky for you, In your name, my dearest light. With you I dream, with you I breath, Whit you I sleep and with you I rise. Your name quenches my thirst And your face clouds my eyes. Let me be the cows you tame, Let me be the flowers that decorate your hair. This world holds nothing for me, O Shyam, Be my life and my air. No number of stars are brighter than your eyes, and no sound sweeter than your song. No breeze is softer than your breadth. They say you left me, Madhav they are so wrong. Your shadow never left me, I reside in you and you in me. Even my heart beats your names rhythm, Take me take me take me…. So now I see you everywhere, You reside in my sight. Nothing matters more, nothing matters at all, In your name, my dearest light.
When my rambling heart wanted to write something for my favorite man.
