levi is so tragic like imagine you’re a child soldier from the age of 13 and five years of torture later you’re finally done and you can go… not home, but it’s where you grew up, and you won’t need to kill anyone there - and then you get there and are told not only are people fighting but you have to join in! you have to kill people again, people your own age, and on top of that you’re fighting a dragon the war stitched into your veins… but it’s not just the 13 you got there with that you need to kill, it’s the people of the your hometown, crazed by powers too big to understand. maybe the worst part is how levi matches the moonscorched. they’re victims of another force declaring a need for violence for the greater good, driven mad and clawing themselves apart to relive themselves of another affliction this fight has given them. and sure, he’s used to the fighting and the bloodshed and the brutality, but it’s got to sting to think it’s over and find you’re even worse off at the end than when you started
