Gosh so many! I actually really like Greenland's design and have been wanting to make some more content about them for the longest time, but haven't been able to 😩 with my recent interest in Siberia though, I think I can probably finally get off my ass and draw them hanging out w the other inuit nation-tans :3

My aranara story 'The Tidings of The Trees' follows the story of Arakasha (the green mushroom hat one) and Ararin (the one with the yellow flower) as they travel from Vanarana to the outside world to find the answer on why the trees in their village suddenly fell silent (in my canon aranara can talk to trees). On their travels they meet other aranara from different tribes who joined in on their quest as they find out that the truth may be deeper that it seems... The story also talks more about the past of the aranara, a little about Sumeru's, and Arakasha's.

So far I've already come up with the main points of this story, but I still have the details to fill. I plan for this story to be made into a webcomic, so stayed tuned!

Hello! First of all, thank you for sending this in! I hope you are doing well. :)

Hmm... I think I would like to start off by saying it felt WAY too short. It didn't seem like I was playing through the AQ. But aside from that, the content was incredible. First of all, the twins' reunion was extremely beautiful and touching. The cutscene was so, SO good. I play as Aether, and the moment that familiar voice spoke to him just after Caribert disappeared... the way he turned to look at her. The way he paused to make sure he was looking at the right person... the hesitation... slowly making his way towards her... reaching out to gently touch her. I wish I had the words to describe how gut-wrenching it was having to watch that.

I think I read a few people complaining about how the sibling didn't ask them any questions when they were sitting together, and while I did share the same sentiments at the beginning, I realized it didn't really matter at that moment. Nothing mattered, except that they were finally together once again. There were no interruptions, no impending danger. Just a brother and sister finally having the chance to talk to each other like any normal siblings would. It's such a simple thing, yet holds so much weight in the eyes of the traveller. A chance to feel normal, and who knows when they might get it again? I love the twins, and I want them to be happy.

As for Caribert, while his presence in the quest was short, it was really impactful and meaningful. I think this part was also really well done, given how long the quest was. I am not sure if calling it a "twist" is the right term, but I really liked how the writers made us believe the villager was implanting memories for an evil motive, only to find out it was just Caribert crafting a life of his own. His relationship with Atossa and the villagers was also super sweet! Using the Loom of Fate for bringing the Hilichurls comfort was also surprising, but a great surprise nevertheless.

Lastly, Dainsleif and the lore related to the sinners was good too. I don't have much to add here honestly. The weaving of the Leylines using the Loom of Fate was an interesting bit, and finding out that Dain had a brother. But what was really surprising was finding out that Dainsleif hid the eye in his body.... Somehow that was more shocking than finding out he had a brother...

Anyway, that's all for my thoughts! Thanks again for sending in an ask!

OH MY GOD I WAS GONNA AFTER THE TRAILER BUT I FORGOT. OPINIONS INCOMING

(below the cut bc to nobody's surprise it got long as fuck)

first and foremost! focalors!! furina! she looks SO FUN. huuuuuge contrast to nahida of the previous arc but i'm into it! i love her irreverent attitude, not *really* taking justice seriously, probably mostly oblivious to the problems of the people... if sumeru writing quality holds that arc is gonna be DELICIOUS. so excited for this contrast! (that was set up LAST YEAR when neuvilette was nahida's drip quote talking about how serious she was comparion to a "certain someone" being prone to hysterics....)! and speaking of neuvilette! i'm pretty sure he's nonhuman, maybe an oceanid, and i REALLY want him to be an ally of the previous hydro archon who's trying to keep furina in check! i think that could be SUPER interesting.

other characters: did not give a single fuck about wriothesley until they gave him a fun potential dynamic with adorable sigewinne and now I Love Him (my weakness is dadguys lol), Did Not expect a third sibling for lyney+lynette but i love all three of them! lynette in particular seems like she'll hit all my buttons character-wise, so i'm super interested to see what she's like and how they're gonna play the fatui/(probably) house of hearth connection. im expecting gendou ringo 2: more exciting and i'm Very delighted about it, i loved that quest!! navia and chlorinde look super interesting as well - i'm REALLY hoping they add gun as a new weapon type that would be SO FUN and the schneznayan cast would super benefit from that in the future..

so far the plot looks super cool too! from what i can tell, there are some super interesting parallels being set up regarding illusion/truth (the magic show/the lie behind it, the spectacle of trial/the lack of justice resulting from it, the pure waters/the pollution corrupting it, the glamorous society/the suffering that lies beneath) and i LOVE Themes and Motifs so IM HYPED FOR THAT! hoping they knock it out of the park with the writing again!! designs all look super solid so far tho im kind of disappointed about some freminet concepts that did not last...

if i had to choose one thing im most excited for tho... there's rumors of a hexenzirkel character in fontaine and i'm a longtime hexenzirkel fan so i REALLY REALLY want that to be true i Love the hexenzirkel and they've been getting more story relevance recently so i think fontaine would be a great place for them to enter the main plot!!

gameplay-wise: obvi we'll have to wait for more info to come out, but looks super promising! super hyped about underwater exploration, the setting design leaks i've seen knock it out of the park as always, i'm sure they'll have some super fun world quests and puzzles for us to scratch our heads over - i've got 0 doubts it'll be fantastic in that design lol. will it top sumeru's rainforest in sheer fun? we'll see but i'm feeling optimistic! my only criticism is that it's right above the newest desert expansion and there's a giant hole in the map which Bothers Me but... historically we can expect 4 map expansions total in 4.x so i'm sure that will be temporary.... (i hope so at least!)

i definitely have more thoughts but this is all the big stuff i could think of... maybe i'll post a full analysis/crumbs i noticed of the teaser, but overall- SUPER excited, i think the story is heading in a good direction, and i'm ready for it to be 4.0 already!!!!

So yeah, I own two pieces of WSJ history now. If nothing else that means that I can digitalize them. Which is exactly what I did!

I did my best to edit all the images from photos from the new phone I got (not for this specifically, I was getting tired of my old phone. I am clearly insane but not that much) so they resemble scans. I was not about to bend the booklets so I could scan them on a flatbed.

to add to the conversation about anti asian racism and imperialism, i will just say that western writers especially white writers need to just pause and prioritize understanding japanese history and japan’s relationships with its asian neighbors first to get a proper handle of his personality and relationships with other asians, before you start writing romance with a white character in such a historically turbulent era that we still have such raw wounds about multi-generationally, let alone an alliance that was built entirely on us being colonized. practice writing kiku or these other asian characters in non historical hetalia situations or at least some less serious history like sporting events or human aus first because if you get it wrong there, you can get feedback and you wont be additionally disrespectful some incredibly painful history. i appreciate you being willing to listen to fix your fics endnotes as you suggested to other anon so absolutely do that, but first and foremost you have to read widely and read asian perspectives. even if it goes against your personal perceptions of that asian character or say, about what the anglo-japanese alliance is like, because it was clear to me there was a very westernized bias and the way you depicted kiku was just missing or misinterpreting many many essential aspects of his culture, politics and relationship with his neighbors.

That's such sound advice - thank you for sending this! I have nothing to add on to this aside from thank you for taking the time to write in, and that things like Human AUs etc. does seem like a really solid foundation to start.

As an aside - and I don't want anyone to feel they have to - but it's obviously relatively easier to find fanfic recommendations for certain characters than others. If anyone knows of one for Japan or China or has specific stories they really think need more attention, I would love to be sent them. I have the lists by MysticalMusicWhispers to hand but anything else would be lovely.

Like, I struggle a lot with it and try really hard to achieve a certain look which is even more stylized in my imagination... And if I ever achieve this style, it will most likely scare away a majority of casual genshin/anime enjoyers 🥲 but at least it would be something that ai can't do. It's already quite unusual for genshin theme so... I'm really grateful for your support <3

13. What gifset was the most satisfying to finish?

Neuvillette.

House of Hearth Trio. Very colour heavy.

Archons. Probably the most satisfying one. It was very, very difficult to complete and I am actually pretty happy how it turned out.

Kaveh Birthday. If you are aware of Kaveh's character stories and hangout, you will probably understand what I was trying to convey here. It's lore heavy, basically.

Al-Haitham. I wouldn't forget this one. Super proud of this.
