Hello there! I just recently came across your blog, and really love your Naruto art! Especially your Sakura content. You give her the justice that she should have gotten in the canon material. Short haired Saku for the win!
However, I’m curious. What are your feelings on Hinata? I like her, but also find that I unfortunately have some bitterness towards her. Not because of the character herself (though she has her issues, and I fully believe she deserved better too), but because of her fandom and how the fanbase holds her to such high regard. She suffers from the same problems as Sakura, dare I say even worse, but people will find any excuse in the point to justify her actions and lift her up. Though I will say that most of the blame lies with SP and their very creepy fetishization of her- who mind you, was a minor for most of the series. It’s like if you even have the slightest criticism of her, your attack for it. But I don’t know. I hope you have a good day!
Hi there!
Thank you so much! I love my girliepop Sakura, she deserves feral rat rights
Hinata? Yeah I have quite a few feelings about her. Namely the feeling of "I like you and I wish you got more"
Hinata is depressingly the only girl from the Konoha 11 to have been given a story and setting that wasn't about boys. Heiress to one of Konoha's major clans but was kicked out in favour of her younger sister? A clan that's fundamentally shitty and they went into depth showing how shitty it is to its own members? There's a LOT that could have been done here.
But unfortunately this was all forgotten about and replaced with her whole existence revolving around Naruto and it's a darn shame.
I don't feel bitterness towards her or anything, just sadness. Grieving what could have been.
I couldn't tell you for certain why Hinata was favoured over Sakura, despite the two being so similar. Hinata's design is very appealing to some, and people seem to be drawn to shy cute girls (I see you, Fluttershy stans). Why I don't know. But it is frustrating as a Sakura stan to see your fav being criticized while Hinata gets praised for the same thing.
Naruto, the series, was just uninterested in them as characters. Naruto is a fantasy, a character for young teenage boys to project themselves on to. Hinata was made to be appealing to the teenage boy demographic. A pretty shy girl who's completely and utterly devoted to you is pure ambrosia. Sakura wasn't made to fit into that fantasy. She's much more like a real woman in that regard, at least to those who project themselves on to Naruto. And a real woman can't be the perfect little wife in your perfect little fantasy world. That's my personal theory anyway.
All that being said, I do genuinely like Hinata. I think she's wasted and done dirty, but even I have fallen for her core appeal. How much I like her makes me sad that she'll never be treated as a character, she will only ever be a reward.

Why NejiTen should be canon
Before I say anything, I can recognise that NejiTen is not canon, although I want it to be lol. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so I ask that you respect mine, and if you want to challenge it, you can *politely* do that in the comments.
The major countering ships to NejiTen are: NejiHina and LeeTen, so I will talk you through why these ships don't work out.
First with LeeTen (because I don't want you quitting after the drama of NejiHina). Lee and Tenten are seen as very close throughout the series, though Tenten makes it clear that she finds Lee annoying and hot-blooded. This is the opposite to Neji, who Tenten seems to admire a lot, since she liked to train with him, and even put on lipstick in the manga for his chūnin exam finals. They seem like the perfect best friend duo, in my opinion. Romance doesn't need to be involved in every since best friend duo, there are enough of them already. In the Boruto series, Lee is seen with his son, Metal Lee. Many think that Tenten is the mother, due to the eye shape, and I think she could easily be. I mean, she's the only kunoichi in Konoha in the same age group as Lee (I think, I haven't fact checked yet), and the girl in his team. Tenten is probably the easiest choice for Lee's wife that Kishimoto could've made. However, if they were to be married and have had a son together, they would now be divorced. This therefore means, that if they had got married, then the relationship would not have worked out, and LeeTen would've failed. If they had not got together, then Lee would've married a different woman, and even if Lee then divorced that mystery woman, they clearly do not have mutual feelings for each other any more. They might have had feelings for each other, at different stages of their lives, but they either both grew out of their crushes or it was only one-sided to begin with.
Second. The NejiHina incident. I'm sorry, but I will have to go on for even longer than LeeTen, because some people don't understand that this ship is incest, and I'll tell you why. Excluding the fact that Neji had strong resentment towards Hinata for quite a period of time, they still wouldn't work out. Their relationship only evolved into *family* love, as confirmed by Kishimoto, just as Boruto loves Himawari, or Temari loves Gaara. What's wrong with a "big brother-little sister love"? Why must everyone make everything romantic? Neji cares deeply for his cousin, as does Hinata. She calls him 'Big Brother Neji', showing that she only sees him as her older brother. Besides, Hinata was so deeply in love with Naruto, she would've never agreed to the marriage. Moving on, a lot of people, from a range of cultures, some of which invite cousin relationships, think that Neji and Hinata getting married and producing heirs is okay. Some of them (purposely?) forget that the reason you don't have kids with your sibling is because it increases the chance of genetic defects dramatically. Although having kids with your cousin is legal (at least where I am), it still has quite a high risk. These people try and back it up by saying that the Hyūga clan would've wanted a pure Hyūga-blooded heir. Hm... Uchiha clan, anyone? Sure, this was common, but there are plenty Uchihas that are so distantly related that it would be fine to have offspring (such as Itachi and Izumi). The same could be said about the Hyūgas. Maybe Neji would've been their best option for a pure blood husband, but there would've been other choices, more people that were much further distanced in relation. I've got this far, and I haven't even mentioned another key fact: you know that Hiashi and Hizashi are twin brothers, right? Identical twins, to be exact. Lemme show you something: "Identical (i.e., monozygotic, or MZ) twins share 100 percent of their genes". You see that? It means that Hiashi and Hizashi share the same DNA. And this means that Neji and Hinata are genetically closer than cousins. They're actually genetically half-siblings. Hm. The Hyūgas are smart enough to figure out that it probably isn't the best idea to inbreed them, right? Well. That doesn't matter, because even if they overlooked all this incestuous evidence, there's this. Hinata isn't even the current heiress. If Neji survived the war, he would not have married Hinata in Boruto. If the Hyūga clan forced him to marry the heiress, and have children to keep a pure bloodline, he would've married Hanabi. Hanabi is the current heiress, so she would be the one married to Neji. Got it yet? Neji and Hinata would never have happened.
The last reason NejiTen should be canon: their chemistry. Tenten is shown to greatly admire and respect Neji, constantly calling him a genius, and she has blushed because of him in the manga several times. He believed in her abilities enough to sit under the practice dummy she was hitting with kunai. Neji comments that her fight would be interesting, showing that he thinks she is a good fighter. He is also shocked at her defeat, further proving that. In the first databook, Kishimoto confirms that Neji and Tenten trained every day for a month in preparation for Neji's chūnin match against Naruto. During this training, Neji reverse engineered and perfected the moves only reserved for the main branch of the Hyūga clan, mainly the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms and the Eight Trigrams Palms: Revolving Heaven. You should also note that while all the other contestants trained with jōnin, Neji chose to train with Tenten. "During one of their training sessions, birds are shown flying in the sky and Tenten tells him that she is exhausted and can't keep going. Neji responds that he thinks he used too much of his chakra and faints. Tenten is seen running to him and asks him if he's alright." Tenten wore a different outfit to watch Neji's match, and as I said, in the manga she also wore lipstick. After his fight with Kidomaru, Neji remembers seeing Lady Tsunade with Tenten. In the Shippuden, during Team Gai's fight with Kisame, Neji rushes to Tenten's side when she seems to struggle in the Water Prison.
Tumblr media
In the image above, it shows the two finishing each other's sentences. They can communicate with little dialogue and know what the other is thinking with only one word. Tenten winks at Neji and invites him to go to the bathhouse with her, both in the anime and the manga. Later, after Neji's death, in the manga, she expresses anger, thinks about Neji and asks why he left her. In her memory, Neji doing the "nice guy pose," which has been performed in the past by Gai, Naruto and Lee. The pose signifies that one will keep their promise until death, as Lee states to Sakura during the beginning of the Sasuke retrieval arc after Naruto does the pose and promises to her that he will get Sasuke back. Neji doing this pose before Tenten implies that he promised her something that he intended to fulfill until his death. In the anime, Tenten holds her hands in a prayer and asks why he left her as she remembers Neji doing this "nice guy pose" to her, then she walks away crying and says that she's never going to forgive him. The implied promise that Neji made to her is not known, but it was significant enough for Neji, who tends to be stoic and serious, to use the cheerful and significant pose his "hot-blooded" sensei and teammate have used in the past. When caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Tenten dreams of more mature versions of Lee and Gai as well as Neji being alive and by her side. She's the only person whose Tsukuyomi dream involves not only Neji being alive, but being with him.
They are shown constantly beside one another throughout the entire story, similar to the couples Asuma and Kurenai, and Shikamaru and Temari. While Neji is very formal and strict, he is shown to be comfortable around Tenten. He isn't shown to mind when she teases him or winks at him. He is also rarely portrayed as a character who apologizes to anyone, but he is shown apologizing to Tenten. In both the manga and anime, birds are present during the scenes where Neji and Tenten are shown alone together. In the manga, the only male character Tenten is shown alone with is Neji.
Other Trivia include:
Tenten's name and Neji's themes compliment each other. "Tenten" literally translates to "heaven heaven" in Chinese, while "Hyūga" translates to "place in heaven." In the new Chūnin Exams arc, Neji is shown holding two heaven scrolls with the characters 天天
Tenten's weapons shop in Boruto is named 忍具転転転, which directly translates to "Ninja Tools Turn Turn Turn." Furthermore, the characters "具転転" in the name translate to "revolving." Thus, the name of Tenten's weapons shop can be a reference to one of Neji's primary moves, Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven.
During the blank period, Tenten wears a uniform that includes a dress with a flame pattern similar to the flame in the Hyūga clan's emblem.
Neji and Tenten are depicted as compatible: the Databooks reveal that Neji is a Cancer and Tenten is a Pisces. In Western astrology, Cancer and Pisces are considered a compatible and harmonious pairing. The Databooks list Neji's blood type as O and Tenten's blood type as B. The blood type personality theory popular in Japan considers O and B blood types romantically compatible.
Neji, during his death, is portrayed as a Phoenix on fire. In the anime, Tenten utilizes the moves "Twin Rising Dragons" and "Exploding Dragon Strike." In Chinese folklore, the Phoenix and Dragon pair symbolize perfect harmony and balance between yin (Phoenix) and yang (Dragon).
Among the Konoha 11, Neji and Tenten were the only ones who were 18 years old during the Shinobi war, whereas Naruto and Hinata were 16 years old and the rest were 17.
Neji and Tenten share the same hairstyles as Hashirama Senju and his wife Mito Uzumaki.

There's really people making whole blogs just for spewing stupid takes and hating on characters out there, huh
How about just not reading Sasuke Retsuden or indulging in content with characters you don't like? Not harassing people just trying to have a good time? You have options to not be a dick. Just leave people alone

Em having another incoherent rant about the WS era and the Senju
I'm trying to put down as much info about the strengths and weaknesses of the Senju vs the Uchiha that I can find and I can't help but be, once again, infinitely frustrated with Kishi because
how the fu** could the Senju rival the Uchiha for so long? The Uchiha are perfectly designed murder machines With the sharingan they can see through, anticipate, intercept or copy almost any technique they can see, even from distances. They have highly potent chakra and lots of it. They are natural fighters and innately skilled with most all ninja arts
Pretty much any description of them note their unique skills and strengths as a clan and how exceptional and deadly they were with those skills and strengths (even if frequently mixed with their weaknesses + prejudices)
Tumblr media
Entry about the Uchiha from the 3rd databook:
“The one clan who could rival the so called invincible Senju. In addition to possessing enormous chakra, the Uchiha wielded the powerful sharingan […]”
Even an average 1T sharingan using Uchiha have an overwhelming advantage over the Senju who have...what? “Feared as the clan with a thousand arms, this was a clan made up of shinobi with expertise in ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu. [..]” -3rd Databook Another entry about the Senju from the 3rd databook: “During the great age of shinobi war, one clan was known far and wide for their unrivalled strength. They were called the Mori no Senju clan, which means “the thousand hands of the forest”. [..]" .... Ok? Most shinobi get good at many different areas to have a well-rounded skillset? Or was it far more common in general to specialize on just one thing during this era? Were the Senju just really good and fast learners in comparison? Could they become incredibly skilled, experts even (as "expertise" suggests), in a very short amount of time? Faster than even Uchiha who were also incredibly skilled in such fields? Not needing half a lifetime to reach very advanced levels in more than one skill? Levels of skill that the Uchiha couldn't physically keep up with even with their eyes allowing them to see them? Sure the Senju were also descendants from Asura and the sage of six paths, and inherited his 'physical energy/body', compared to the Uchiha who inherited his mind/spiritual energy and his chakra through Indra which goes with what we already know ...but like...what does that mean for the Senju VS the Uchiha?? We know that for the Uzumaki, as descendants of Asura as well, had physical vitality, tenacious life-force and are very resilient. Are the Senju much of the same minus the obsession with fuinjutsu?
Are their strengths great stamina? Were they much more physically strong? Did they have an unspecific possible knack for learning? Are they possibly hard to finish off because of their life-force allowing them to cling to life so they just end up surviving wounds sustained in combat more often than the Uchiha?
What actually allowed them to rival a clan as clearly formidable as the Uchiha? There's little to no proper information about it, what exists is infuriatingly vague and the rest can only be theorized through looking at the handful of Senju we do have info on and exclude the stuff that makes these individuals exceptional! The Senju are so tragically undeveloped in what actually made them formidable and 'invincible'?? They just sort of...are?? Because Kishi said so???
Their established strengths are hardly anything that unique to them compared to any other shinobi. In a prolonged fight or a game of endurance sure the Senju might have a higher chance of winning as Uchiha aren't known for their physical stamina... MAYBE. But against the sharingan? Not even the Senju's apparently impressive stamina would really hold a candle against a sharingan user who can end the fight quickly with swift precision thanks to their eyes before they have start worrying about keeping up with their Senju-opponents stamina.
We never actually see a semi-average Senju fight a Semi-average Uchiha. We don't know what skills and strengths the average Senju had, the ones who made up the bulk of the clan for generations and held up against the Uchiha before Hashirama came and flipped the script on everything. (I don't count the Tajima/Butsuma confrontation because that action obviously had to take a backseat for the drama and intervention of Hashirama and Madara) They are all exceptionally strong individuals of their time we see facing each other. Madara wasn't average. Hashirama wasn't average. Izuna wasn't average. Tobirama wasn't average. They all possessed skills and abilities that were exceptionally rare and/or exclusive to them and them alone at the time. Fight any of them as an average member of either clan and you were without a doubt going to end up losing. (Tsunade came in later, but she also wasn't average.) The one other we do see is five adult Uchiha vs one Senju child, and that can't even be called a fight.
Ugh.
Well.
If you for some reason read through all this...thank you and I'm sorry because I have no real point or conclusion for this post.
It was just a rant and brainstorm.
Thanks for sticking around tho, and if you have thoughts or opinions or notes on things I might have missed feel free to share!

Can you do your drawings more the manga style? The others are fine but anime characters shouldn’t be drawn in a realistic style because it looks weird. Your art is good but maybe you can draw actors your one style and then anime for the other. I read you were practicing for the manga. Dont worry I want to read it! The thing about realism is that you cant represent a character factually in their true cultural foundation since it doesnt exist. The character doesnt exist. How can you draw Sasuke as a Japanese person and represent him as one in real life when you dont know what he looks like? Same with Naruto. This is no hate but just advice for your future career. I see many artist making mistakes like this and this is just a warning to prevent you from making it worse. I hope you can see it as such and not make a big deal out of it. I like your analysis’s though, keep up the good work have a nice day. Peace ✨
“Can you do your drawings more the manga style?”
No matter how much you try to formulate a question like this in order to make it sound “polite”, you don’t grasp the severity of the thing you’re “asking”.
You’re asking an artist (in my case someone who’s practicing to become one professionally), to change their art-style. An art-style is something that belongs to a person. It’s something that develops and an artist can play around with it, but you (and anyone else) don’t get to decide how they should do that.
It’s impossible, even if we "wanted to".
And quite rude.
When I first started with commissions people always asked me to “draw me this like that artist does” and basically they always wanted a copy. It used to be so confusing to me, because if they wanted something that looked exactly like the other artist’s drawing.. then why ask me? Why tell me you “like my art so much”, come to me for a commission because of it, but then don’t want it the way I draw it?
It made me really insecure about the way I draw.. and it still does to be honest.
“Copying” an artist’s art style can be a good way to practice art and figure out what you like, there is no shame in that, but it isn’t part of “us”.
What do you even mean with “manga-style” anyway? You do realize that there is not one “manga-style” either right? Have you seen the ‘Naruto’ tribute drawings made by other Mangaka’s? They look very different from Kishimoto’s “manga-style”.
Hirohiko Araki:
Tumblr media
Mitsubishi Shimabukuro:
Tumblr media
Masanori Morita:
Tumblr media
Toshiaki Iwashiro:
Tumblr media
Kentaro Yabuki:
Tumblr media
Takeshi Obata:
Tumblr media
And these are only a few... (lmao to fan-artists getting criticized for slightly different facial proportions being part of their art-style when it's more than normal (in the Manga world), but ok.)
“The others are fine but anime characters shouldn’t be drawn in a realistic style because it looks weird.”
This statement in itself is ridiculous. Anime characters drawn (semi-)realistic-looking being “weird” regardless of how it’s drawn or by who, is your opinion. Your own personal opinion which is weird to send to someone. Meaning: your opinion is not factual. Now that, is not my opinion, that’s commonly accepted as a fact.
Kishimoto himself drew his characters more "realistic" as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not just him, but there is another Mangaka who did.
“Dont worry I want to read it!”
I wasn’t.
“The thing about realism is that you cant represent a character factually in their true cultural foundation since it doesnt exist. The character doesnt exist. How can you draw Sasuke as a Japanese person and represent him as one in real life when you dont know what he looks like? Same with Naruto.”
You talk like you have zero understanding of what “art” even means in the first place.
I don’t even have to explain myself to you, but:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.. these aren’t even all..
(Please guys, I’m aware of what is happening.. and yes I get them too. I’m not going to talk about other blogs, my blog isn’t a call-out blog, but this is going against my style specifically.. so here we are.)
Adding “realism” is just an interpretation, a way to enrich the fictional fantasy of a character. It’s true that you can’t represent a character “factually in their true cultural foundation since it doesn’t exist” as you say.
Because Konoha doesn’t exist. Ninja’s (from Naruto) don’t exist.
Konoha isn’t an accurate representation of Japan and its culture either as Kishimoto is also influenced by different media from all over the world. His fantasy world in which this creation was born from exists, because it isn’t limited to one cultural region and it doesn’t have your personal boundaries. His childhood as far as we know was full with superheroes that were created from minds all over the world with super-powers that aren't tied to our realistic (cultural) representations. We can't manipulate Chakra like these characters do, now can we?
That’s why it’s fiction.
That’s why you’re right and also contradicting yourself because of it.
Why the hell would I want to take the beauty out of something that not only entertains us, but perhaps even helped us cope or forget this dumb “real life” you talk about and bring it ‘back to Earth’ when the mouths that lick the asses of those that embrace this ‘cancel culture’-mentality so-lovingly want to steer us towards all these ‘problematic’ things they call “reality”. Seemingly: you.
The beauty in art or fanart, fan work, fiction, fantasy is exactly that it does NOT have to represent anything exactly in real life, but it can be whatever the creator wants it to be. Interpretation is never the same for everyone. And frankly, you don’t have to agree with it. You can turn on your news-channels, discuss shit on Facebook or focus on something else if you want to see something that “represents your reality” and even then that’s questionable to say the least :’)
Art, this platform, entertainment, humor or this story that exists from the mind of a man that somehow, someway came up with the most beautiful.. tragic, love story of all time, discussing it, getting lost in the charm or artistry that went behind in making it- it’s supposed to be fun. A way to escape that reality, but all this backlash and criticism towards not just fan-artists, but also fan fiction authors who do nothing, but share their works for free does not make it very attractive to do so. One day this fandom will die down, because of this, yet it doesn’t have to.
People will always do what they love to do.
Let them.
(Morally)
“This is no hate but just advice for your future career. I see many artist making mistakes like this and this is just a warning to prevent you from making it worse.“
No, artists following your advice is the mistake. Uno reverse warning.
Have fun on your journey drawing, writing or anything that you love to do. You’re the only one having access to your mind. In art specifically, there is not one art-style, it’s something you develop overtime through drawing the things you love drawing. Every time you’ll think to yourself “hey, I liked that, I want to incorporate that the next time I draw too!” It’ll build from there.
“I hope you can see it as such and not make a big deal out of it.”
I hope you see the hypocrisy in this sentence.
Have a nice day too. I left you a drawing. (It’s the latest one.)

Himawari's Lover??
Himawari, our lovable character. She is by far the cutest and strongest character in Boruto. But she is growing up, meaning she's falling in love.
From the start of the series, we've seen Himawari interact with Yamanaka Inojin and most fans speculated that they would be together, yet there was a new character introduced in the manga & anime, except in the manga, he finally met Himawari, whereas the anime is taking their sweet time for their meeting. Straight away, Daemon noticed massive chakra coming from her, which could mean she has a connection with Kurama.
Now, remember, Daemon and Eida can't age, so they're stuck 16 & 10. Now, of course, most people started shipping them.
Of course, most of the fandom still ship InoHima, but I do ship DaeHima. They just seem to have more chemistry. I know, they've barely had an interaction, but, I mean, their interactions have a lot of meaning. Daemon knows there is more to Himawari than meets the eye, but we have seen Inojin generally care for Himawari and protect her, like in Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 2. Now, I don't mind InoHima, but I feel like it'll be weird because of Inojin being one of Boruto's closest friends. Boruto has already (when Daemon met Himawari) assumed Daemon liked her and said (and I quote) "Big bro would never approve", so I feel like Kishi might be setting up their love story, but I could be wrong.
But them two aren't the only ones posing as Himawari's love interests. There's also Norimaki Ehou, Himawari's classmate and teammate for the Academy trial thing.
They're in the class and seem to have chemistry. Now, I believe that Himawari would either end up with Daemon or Ehou, otherwise, why else would they add Ehou? And I'm pretty sure Ehou and Itomaki Yuina were created by fans.
But there is one more (that I know of) — Kawaki. People have started to ship Kawaki and Himawari a bit and I must admit, they would have strong and cute kids and would be a cute couple.
But for now, KawaHima and InoHima have more interaction and Ehou just seems to be there to form a love triangle (like every series needs). Daemon, if he and Himawari had more interaction, then maybe more people would ship them, but I really want Daemon to age, but I guess he can't. I also don't believe KawaHima would happen because 1) Kawaki's her adopted big brother, 2) the age difference. Kawaki's 14 (18-19 in Two Blue Vortex) and Himawari's 10 (13-14 in Two Blue Vortex).
But it's so cute to see Himawari fall in love. I can't wait to see who she ends up with. But for now, it looks like either InoHima or DaeHima might be canon.

About why Sasuke left the leaf village
So I was just thinking, and I realize that not a lot of people talk about this specific reason so I wanted to write about it. I'm not very good at organizing my thoughts, so this may be very messy.
So, there are a lot of reasons as to why sasuke left konoha in part 1, and I'm not saying that any others are wrong, because it was a combination of many things. However I haven't seen many people explain this reason specifically so I wanted to bring attention to it and talk about it.
As many people have acknowledged, itachi is one of the main reasons sasuke left konoha. I want to expand on that, and some other this as well. This will probably very quickly turn into a rant.
Okay, so:
Imagine you are sasuke.
Imagine your brother kills your entire clan and still gets to roam free.
Imagine you are sasuke, who is basically being held hostage in a village who doesn't give a shit about him.
Now imagine the fear you have that your brother will come back to the village and finish you off, or take someone else from you or take everyone from you again. (I know it doesn't explicitly state that he has this fear in canon, but I need to say this to explain.)
Now think about it; how that fear was proven rational when he does come back to the village to try and kidnap your best friend.
You no longer feel safe inside the village and realize that you have not gotten any stronger, which is proven when your brother beats you and tortures you like he did when you were 7.
This further motivates you to get much stronger so you can kill him and finally be safe. (not saying that he will be 100% safe, but I'm trying to make you think like sasuke, and in his mind this is rational.)
And then you fight your best friend who you realize has gotten much stronger as well, further proving in your mind that you have gotten weaker. Your friend pulls out his strongest attack against you, so you pull out yours to counter.
Your teacher ties you to a tree for pulling your strongest attack against your friend when your friend is off the hook without so much as a warning.
Your teacher refuses to understand you and even dares to call you lucky after everything that has happened to you and your worst fears confirmed.
He leaves you tied to a tree where you are manipulated by sound ninja who attack you and try and kidnap you (essentially.)
Okay so basically everything I just said was trying to put into perspective everything that happened leading up to sasuke leaving the village (his kidnapping) and yeah. I really wanted to say how orochimaru basically kidnapped him, okay? Seriously. Just because a child follows a kidnapper because they offer candy, (power), does not make it not still kidnapping. Honestly the sound ninja manipulated sasuke to follow them to his kidnapper and I've been thinking about this for a long time, and it still feels like a kidnapping to me, okay? Also it wasn't even really of his own free will, as orochimaru put a curse mark on him to manipulate him into searching for more power, he even said that sasuke would seek him out. Though ultimately he did choose to go, still you don't blame a child for following a stranger who offers them candy, you blame the stranger trying to kidnap them (obviously it's not always going to be a kidnapping in real life but I just needed a way to explain how this was a kidnapping.)
Okay I'm sorry for all of this though and my writing was really fucking bad here but I don't really care since I just needed to write some thoughts. Also I realize that a lot of you probably disagree with this, and that's okay since the way I wrote this was really bad at explaining what I wanted to explain and seems pretty exaggerated, even to me. Also some of the details are probably wrong as well, but I just hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Even so, even I disagree with some of the things I said and the way they were written, I just didn't know any other way to explain it. Naruto can be interpreted in many different ways, so this probably could seem to you like it's not really sasuke, and you wouldn't really be wrong, because he is a complex character who can be interpreted in many different ways. I don't disagree with any other opinions, I just wanted to share my view and I would love to hear your takes on it.
Anyway it did become long at the end and not really planned out, so I'm sorry if it's hard to read but I tried my best to make it legible and yeah. I'm done here.
Also I'm not really sure if this is pro sasuke or anti konoha or what, since it's kinda just there. Uh- I'll figure it out.

5 and 17? :3
5. can kishi write romance?
No. Well not deliberately anyway. He misunderstands the fundamentals of romance – to treat each other equally, to have understanding and compassion, to accept all parts of the other good and bad and not try to change them to suit yourself better.
Many of the canon couples lack the fundamentals which is why they almost always seemed forced. There are few canon relationships that work well – DanTsu, MinaKusha and AsuKurenai. Though even if they have some of the fundamentals, they’re still not great. Kishimoto is not a romance writer for a reason.
Many of the fanon couples have had an incredible development because Kishimoto built up their characters first, then he compliments one character with another’s action or philosophy as well as just letting them interact together. There’s an understanding of each other within the platonic and fanon romantic relationships that Kishimoto never gave to the end game couples.
It’s disappointing to say the least because for some characters, the romance backtracked on a lot of character depth that Kishimoto built up.
17. Is Sakura useless?
Not useless, but misused. OG Naruto she generally was pretty uninteresting and unequipped for the things around her, but when Shippuden began she grew a whole lot in her fight with Sasori and as a medical ninja throughout the series she has shown how important she is.
However, as a main character, I’m really disappointed in how lacking she is in comparison to her peers. Despite saying that she caught up to them, her feats as a fighter are very small as an mc and her character development is the biggest reason she didn’t show more in battle imo. If Kishimoto understood that a woman’s worth isn’t dependent on a man / her crush she would’ve been much more involved within the story.
So I wouldn’t say she was useless, but incredibly side cast because the writer was bad. Which I don’t blame her as a fictional character for.

Kakashi's and Hinata's cases
Kakashi is a king... Yes, the king of cognitive dissonance and masochism. To think he keeps supporting and protecting a system that not only caused his father's and dear ones' deaths, but also fucked him over again and again... That's... Unsettling, to say the least. But the worse thing is that, he also expects others to do the same. Remember when he demanded Sasuke to let go of his revenge and stay an obedient tool to Konoha- I mean, not to deviate from the "right path" ? The will to endure silently an awful system that crushes nearly everyone, including children, is not cool, or admirable. It's tragic. Which is why I stopped pretending Kakashi is the Ultimate Chad, and that Sasuke should follow his example or some other bullshit. Kakashi is a broken person, and I pity him as much as I find him frustrating.
Furthermore, I'm ashamed it took me so long to realize that Hinata was nothing but a self-centered slave owner, whose only real purpose was to wed Naruto (and angry that Neji only died to make them get closer). I partly blame the narrative, which tends to depict her as a Purity Sue/Disney princess who can't do no wrong. Because of this, it's only thanks to the numerous posts critical of her that I finally opened my eyes.
I'm not downplaying how callous her father was to her, but it still doesn't change the fact that she shown NO desire to change her clan's practices (i.e the caged bird seal), despite knowing very well how horrible they were. Hell, she shown no signs of being in disagreement with them. It hurts me to say it, but she's not altruistic, and she's can't be called a good person either.
Additionally, despite her claiming that her core motivation is to develop herself into a stronger person and Shinobi, she has not done much in the series. And if you're gonna justify that by the fact she's a side character, then at least stop saying that she somehow became more powerful than Sakura when there's no canon facts to back-up this statement. And I'm not even a Sakura fan...
Anyway...

Asking cause I’m curious, but if there was a male character in Naruto you think could have been improved, who would it be and why?
Uuhh all of them lol
Jk jk lol
I don't think I personally could really properly improve any of these characters, there's just so much that goes into it. That being said, there are two that I think were done dirtiest
And that's Naruto and Sasuke. And I don't necessarily mean "improve" them, I'm thinking more just treating them with a little more empathy.
Sasuke is the easier one to explain. We love to meme on Sasuke and I agree it's hilarious, but in canon I don't think Sasuke is really given the chance to be a broken kid and just being allowed to be sad about it. Can't be sadness, it has to become anger. And that's mainly because Sasuke is stuck in a boys boy manga where combat = character development, so taking time to explore his complex feelings isn't the point or focus.
Sasuke has been done the worst by Danzo and the gov of Konoha, and I personally don't think he owes the village anything. Him becoming the Shadow Hokage just doesn't make sense to me. Let this guy rest. Give him a nice martini and a sun hat. Take a week off, Sasuke.
He's not then allowed to have proper closure. He can't go home to his wife and daughter and enjoy stability and support. He has to stay away so he doesn't loose his aloof vengeng!1 motif.
Sasuke's story, the severely broken and traumatized child forced to grow up too quick but is mentally stuck in the past, has since been done a lot better with Arcane's Jinx. But Jinx was written to be a character, not a vessel for millions of new abilities for boys to scream over.
As for Naruto This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but hear me out
I don't think he needed to become Hokage.
This has nothing to do with his abilities or his lineage or anything. Man's qualified. His motivation to become Hokage is so people finally notice him, to finally respect him and so he can have friends. But he didn't need to become Hokage to accomplish all that.
So, do I think he needed to become Hokage to be happy? Not really. To me it's less of a triumph and more an inevitability. I think Konoha's whole ass system is fucked and needs a major overhaul, which is what Naruto could have done just sayin
But this also ties into Naruto only really seeing himself as loveable if he's useful. If he just saves the village enough times, they'll finally like him and treat him well. I think Naruto deserves better than that. Konoha has a very "You're worthless if you can't be of service" mentality which isn't the cutest, besties. I wish someone (preferably Hinata) helped Naruto realize that he's worthy of love just for being alive, that he's worthy of being loved and taken care of too. That if Konoha turns on him for being imperfect, that's on Konoha. He's just one person.
It's a very Pixar way of viewing his story, I'm aware of that. Him realizing he doesn't need to become Hokage. But then what would he be? I think he should have taken after his first father figure, and arguably his most humble. I think he should have become an academy teacher like Iruka. He has first hand experience being the underdog, the one struggling, and could be there to encourage and support young ninja like Iruka supported him. Plus it gives him more time to be with his wife and kids, I want him to be the lamest and cringiest dad known to man. I need it.
But I know these are unpopular opinions for a reason. This isn't the series for this kind of writing lol
Anyway, I hope this was useful to you!

Once again, the overpowering of the Sharingan (and the whole Uchiha clan for that matter) is one of the worst and most tiresome things Kishi could have done. It's soo frustrating and I hate it so much

You can eat me alive but in my opinion narration of ‘Naruto being selfish and highly biased, flawed character’ and ‘Narusasu is canon pairing on which whole manga is based’ can absolutely coexist and both have meaningful reasons which don’t exclude any of the narrations validity.

This shot is a such a good way to end the Naruto and Sasuke rivalry but they ruin it by it basically having no consequence.
If losing their arms actually meant neither of them could use ninjutsu anymore that would have been perfect.
But it has Zero impact. Naruto just get’s a new arm immediately and Sasuke can somehow still do Ninjutsu with one arm.
It sucks cause if it actually ended with Naruto retiring from being a ninja and Sasuke alive but in jail it would have worked so much better.
Boruto would actually be good cause Naruto could actually be a good dad but Boruto could still want to become Hokage because he knew it was his father’s dream.
It’s baffling how close they came to having a satisfactory ending and to just completely undo it immediately. This manga is a complete fucking mess

you saying ns harassing sn fans🤕 like sasunaru fans didn’t trying to prove every day that naruto can’t be top since 2007 and attacking everyone who didn’t think like that💀thousands of sn artists draw naruto being submissive with sasuke - so “canon”✊
Dude, grow up. You guys are proving my point btw. It's NOT 2007 anymore you guys are so miserable and spiteful to still talk about this in your old ass age as if sasunaru is the majority anymore. Move ON and stop being an annoying ass harassing bully. It's so embarrassing and pathetic. I mentioned this before, as if most of the fans are still around today, that makes it right to do the opposite now? And n*rus*sus do the same, so what now idiot? You're not as anymore canon as sasunaru fans dumbass.

Okay so I just binged what was available of the Sasuke's story episodes and damn it made me miss Naruto. And not just because of the Sasuke and Sakura plot but also the current ending. I'm very curious about Kawaki and Boruto. I think Kawaki is like adopted by Naruto and he's closer to him than Boruto is? No clue but my interest is piqued. Also I was already curious about the context of Naruto using Baryon mode and Sasuke having his rinnegan stabbed.
Now I'm probably gonna watch this latest episode when it releases just to finish Sasuke's arc. Then I might read/watch where I left off. Was kinda hoping when they gave us a Sasuke story arc I could see what happens before Sarada's birth but I guess I really can only find out through the novels. There's like more than 10 of those though if I want to know every detail of the cast that isn't in the manga and anime.
Damn it. I was uninterested in the series because of Boruto's attitude towards Naruto (who is literally my favorite character in anime) and I don't like Naruto's role. Also the genin cast is uninteresting. There's also a lot of anime only content. Which I get cuz the manga only has like maybe 70 or so chapters by now since its a monthly serialization but still hard to get through. But now I'm rethinking all that and I bet Its cuz the anime's budget is so high. It looks really freaking good.
