↪ranpo himself doesn't normally do field missions involving conflict to no ones surprise. the only times he really goes is if he needs something else for the case.

↪so normally most of the time he demands either you or a coworker you went with to know if you're okay, whoever he finds first.

↪ however because you could regenerate he would ask how reckless you were. he didn't really have to worry about you getting hurt but if you ever put yourself in dangerous situations because of your ability he would worry.

↪and he wouldn't hesitate to scold you. it wasn't really scolding, more making you feel guilty for making him worry. but atleast he could find comfort in knowing no matter how far you would be you would be okay.

sigma ★↷

↪sigma was rather indifferent about combat. he knew it would become unavoidable in some situations but he would also stave it off for as long as possible. it wasn't his favoured option.

↪but you were on the opposite end of the spectrum. your ability gave you a great sense of confidence in combat and didn't pick your fights wisely, opting to engage in fights whenever you had the chance.

↪and you were reckless in the fights themselves. this initially made sigma worry constantly, he had finally found someone he wanted to believe would never use him and he could trust - he didn't want to lose that, lose you.

↪but when he came to know of your ability he felt almost a false confidence. he could feel slightly better that you probably wouldn't be gravely hurt but he knew anything could render your ability useless - especially fatal wounds.

↪he would always tell you to be careful. he didn't want to lose the only person he could believe wouldn't use him.

↪ ayatsuji was a rather cocky man, that was no surprise to anyone. he didn't really enage in combat however as he found little use for it and anyone he wanted rid off... well his ability could take care of that.

↪and he couldn't help the smug grin that formed when he witnessed how reckless you were in battle. mainly because he knew why, your ability.

↪he found it rather interesting that you had such confidence because of your ability and he couldn't blame you, he'd probably do the same. but when it came to being closer to you he'd hide his worry.

↪he also had confidence in your ability to keep you safe but he knew life was cruel. there was nothing stopping something drastic happening that could render your ability useless and your recklessness would finally catch up to you.

↪natsume lived most his life in the quiet solitude only found living as a cat. he knew he had quite a few undesirable people looking for him and so he preferred that life rather than seeking out the conflicts they'd want.

↪and while he'd urge you to do the same, he knew he couldn't stop you entirely from rushing into a conflict without a care in the world. perhaps he did actually like that about you, one of your charms per say.

↪he undestood that you had great confidence in your ability and he did too but he'd still scold you. everytime you threw yourself recklessly into battle would earn you a light scolding.

↪the last thing he'd ever want was for you to get hurt, or worse. he'd rather throw himself into a conflict with those who want him gone than see you get hurt.

• and yet he’s still one of the only people who truly understands and unconditionally supports you… this is a sick and twisted world

how does natsume sakasaki speak? a helpful-ish tip:

disclaimer that this is only from my own observation

HOW TO TELL WHICH LETTERS TO CAPITALIZE ? look at the syllables.

for words with ONE syllable, only the last letter is capitalized.

for example: triP, catcH, heaT.

then words with MORE than one syllable, the last syllable is always capitalized.

for example: maGIC, magiCIAN, stuPID.

HOW TO TELL WHICH WORDS TO CAPITALIZE ? observe the punctuation marks you add as the words before them are the ones that have capitalized letters.

again, there’s no need to tire out your pretty fingers as only the LAST words have uppercase letters. see examples below and observe:

“Sora is a good kiD, he is always cheerFUL.”

“You are stuPID, Tsumugi.”

“Us magicians are always willing to helP, I can assist you with the help of maGIC.”

so really, if it bothers you, there’s no need to add capital letters in each words per sentence!~

what does he NOT capitalize? usually names, pet names, or words used to address others (like honorifics and stuff). for example: kitten (vomits).

please note that this is just a silly guide and that you still have the right to write his lines however you want!! heck, even i myself write for natsume but i don’t capitalize the words majority of the time. BUT! in case you want to, then may this lil guide help a bit.

why does natsume speak like thaT? he said "By distorting the pronunciation at the end of a sentence, it yields a sense of discomfort.”(wiki) and with that, he ends his sentences with katakana. so in order to give off the same “uncomfortable” feeling in the english server, letters are capitalized.

fun fact: my best friend asked if i major in natsume as one day i just woke up and went “you know what, i wanna observe which words he capitalizes” and rambled about it to them.

and note that this at least how it works majority of the time. i most likely missed a few details but the main point is there already so i won’t bother~

You were well aware it was probably unhealthy for you to be staying up all night the way you were, whether voluntarily or not, but at this point you were starting to embrace your more nocturnal sleep schedule. By now you were starting to enjoy the way the sky looked at night compared to during the day, and napping in class wasn’t even that bad.

Until, of course, you practically passed out while overseeing one of Switch’s practices.

You kept on trying to explain to the rest of them that you had just tripped on something, which Tsumugi and Sora seemed to accept after you repeated it 3 or so times, but even as he sighed and escorted you off to the dorm rooms, you could tell by his tone that he saw through your facade.

The moment you were out of earshot from the rest of Switch, he held out an arm to stop you from walking and narrowed his eyes at you.

“You need sleep.”

You huffed, turning your gaze away from him as he said this. “But- Like- It’s not even that big of a deal, as long as I’m still getting through my classes and---”

He gave you an exasperated sigh before offering you a fond, albeit clearly annoyed smile. “It doesn’t work like that, kitten. It’s important that you take care of yourself.” He ruffled your hair a bit, before bringing his hand to his chin and letting out another sigh. “Well, in this case….. I suppose I’ll have to have you stay the night in my dorm for a bit to make sure you actually get some rest.”

You pouted. “What difference will that make? I don’t get much sleep no matter where i go-”

“Have you forgotten that I’m a distinguished magician? I’ll help you fall asleep, don’t worry.” He grinned at you, offering out his hand expectantly, staring at you with those eyes that you had no chance of saying no to, and letting out a little chuckle when you took it. His hand was warm, and he held yours rather carefully as he guided you off to his lodgings, humming a tune all the while.

The dorm room was simple, aside from the mess of scattered papers with what you could only assume to be Tsukasa’s unfinished compositions. There was a small corner dedicated to Natsume’s work, with various symbols outlined in chalk on his desk. Immediately, he gravitated over to the corner with his things, shifting objects around for a moment and mumbling something to himself before he scribbled something in messy handwriting onto a sticky note on the table.

He turned and made his way over to you, where he just smiled at you as if you were supposed to know what was going on.

“Um.. Natsume…?”

He simply kept on giving you that almost unsettling, close-eyes smile before offering you some sort of small bottle, with an unidentified liquid in it that you would have absolutely assumed was drugs if it wasn’t coming from him. He frowned a bit when you hesitated to take the bottle, and placed a hand on his hip.

“It’s perfectly safe, I promise you. It’s just a simple potion to help you sleep.”

You pouted again, taking the bottle after a moment of skepticism. “Do I have to-”

“Yes.”

The boy let out another chuckle at your antics, leaning in for a moment to give you a slight wink. “If you comply and get some rest, you can have a kiss as a reward, okay?”

Collapsing onto your bed, you let out a heavy sigh, the events of the day weighing on your mind. Its not like it had been a horrible day, per say, just one of those days where everything seemed so dull and exhausting. With idol work, school, and your after school job, you were so stressed and completely burnt out. There was nothing more you wanted to do than curl up in your plush sheets and drift off into a nice slumber-

Ah. Right. Natsume was coming to the dorm tonight, wasn't he? How could you have forgotten? It was a plan you yourself had made! And he had been so excited about it too, talking about how he couldn't wait to have fun with you...

A Spell to Make You Well

“Achoo!” You give a loud sneeze as you continue to edit and sign paper after paper.

The day had been rough from the start. You woke up with a terrible cold, the wind was blowing wildly, you forgot your homework, and now you had tons of paperwork to do for “His Majesty” Eichi lest you face his wrath.

After another several sneezes, you lay your head down on the library table in defeat. It’s exhausting, being Yumenosaki’s only producer student. There is never a single moment to rest. Often, it feels like if you were to take even one day off, the units might crumble to the ground, leaving even more paperwork than when you left.

Without permission, your eyes begin to close. Maybe it’d be alright to rest just for a few hours. You had tucked yourself into the furthest corner of the school’s library. It’d be so easy to sleep here, with no one any the wiser.

With that thought, you wiggle lower into the chair and fold your arms into a comfortable pillow for your head. Then, quicker than the blink of an eye, you drifted off into a peaceful dream.

“Fufufu, it seems I’ve found a sleeping kittEN,” you heard a low voice say, rousing you from your slumber.

“Hmm?” you hum tiredly. You raise your head slowly and rub your eyes with your fists.

“Good evenING, Little KittEN. I hope you slept wELL.” He greeted with a small chuckle.

You let out a sigh, finally awake enough to realize who was speaking to you.

“Did you need something, Sakasaki-kun?” you asked tiredly, your throat aching slightly.

The impish redhead gave you his trademark smirk before sitting down in the chair beside you,

“You knoW, it’s very trusting of you to sleep in the middle of the school libraRY.” He placed his hand on your shoulder. “Who knows what monsteRS are lying in wait for you to put down your guARD, hmM?”

You quickly pulled yourself out of his touch. “Thank you for the concern, but I’m perfectly capable of taking care of my-“ You cut yourself off with another large sneeze.

Natsume gave you a mildly concerned look before quickly masking it behind his smirk once again. He stood from his chair, pushing it quietly, before holding his hand out towards you.

You tilted your head at him quizzically.  

“Come with me,” Almost instantly you felt compelled forward. You took his hand and let him lead you along, all the while wondering why you did so without question.

You didn’t know where you were going, only that the way there was particularly dark. You were uncertain whether you had gone down one staircase or more; if you had traveled down several winding hallways or just one. Finally, you approached a small light. Upon drawing nearer you saw a door with light pouring out from through the crack between it and the floor.

Natsume grabbed hold of the door’s handle and pushed it open quietly. “Here we aRE.”

He announced, throwing a glance back towards you.

“Where is here?” you questioned.

“A secret placE. I quite enjoy spendING my time here away from the mORE troublesome memBERS of the schOOL.”

You narrowed your eyes slightly at him. With a place like this at his disposal, it was no wonder he was able to slip away from classes unnoticed so easily.

The red-haired magician continues to pull you along before depositing you in a corner of the room.

“Wait hERE,” he requested before walking off towards a large cabinet. He reached into it and pulled out what appeared to be a bundle of blankets and a pillow.

“What is that for?” you asked dumbly, not quite sure what he was up to.

Natsume set down the items in his grasp near you before responding.

“For you to rEST.” He responded as though it was obvious. “It wouldn’t do wELL for our lovely produCER to get too sICK, now would IT?”

You crossed your arms, not particularly enjoying being treated like a child. “Why would you help me? What do you get out of this?”

The redhead laughed. “WoulDN’T you like to kNOW,” he joked.

Suddenly, you felt a chill run through your body. Between being sick and the fact that this room was likely below ground level, it was no wonder that you would start to shiver.

Noticing this, Natsume reached down and grabbed the blanket on the floor before wrapping it loosely around your shoulders.

“Well, Little KitTEN,” he began, “it’s the job of us magiCIANS to help others in their time of nEED.”

With that, he walked away toward a counter with assorted beakers and chemicals scattered about.

You sighed and sat on the floor with your blanket. Laying your head against the cold wall, you began to watch Natsume work at his table. He moved quietly from one end to the other, occasionally mixing two liquids together, or setting them over a burner.

Natsume was a strange one; always aloof and never quite saying what he thinks. It was as though he had up a wall and he used his strange speech and quick temper to guard it. You were never sure what to do around him. His playful behavior led you to want to take everything he said with a grain of salt, and yet sometimes, when it was just the two of you—or even he and his unit-mates—he seemed to have this different air about him. It was warm and made you feel that maybe the magician wasn’t just full of mischief and tricks.

“HeRE,” The redhead said, snapping you out of your musings. He was knelt in front of you, holding out a steaming mug and a small cup of orange liquid.

As you went again to question him, you began coughing loudly. Carefully, Natsume set down the two glasses before moving towards you.

“I’m alright,” you managed to cough out.

When your coughing subsided, Natsume once again picked up the mug and cup to hand to you.

“It’s a poTION.” He said pushing the cup with the orange liquid into your hands. “It should cure your sickNESS.”

You narrowed your eyes and lifted the cup to your nose. If you had to guess, you’d say it smells like cold medicine, but you couldn’t say for sure.

Deciding to trust your strange classmate, you drink the liquid in one gulp. It’s not particularly pleasant, though it does taste mildly of oranges. As you pull a mildly disgusted face, Natsume hands you the steaming mug.

“TeA,” he stated plainly. “It should eaSE a sore thrOAT.”

You stared down at the cup in your hands. It smelled good; nice and earthy with a touch of floral. Taking a sip, you noticed that there was a bit of sugar in it.

“Thank you,” you said frankly. This whole time, you weren’t quite sure why Natsume was being so nice to you. When in reality, it had been presumptuous of you to assume he was only helping you for his own gain.

“You’re welcome, Little KitTEN,” He flashed you a smirk, once again slipping back into his mysterious and flirty persona. He moved to sit down next to you. The two of you sat in comfortable silence as you drank the tea he had made you.

After the cup was emptied, you began to feel drowsiness take hold of you once again. Your eyes felt heavy and it became hard to keep them open as you snuggled down into your warm blanket.

“Sleep,” Natsume whispered. Your eyes closed and you moved your head towards your companion’s shoulder to use as a pillow.

Certain you wouldn’t see him, the red-haired magician next to you turned and gave you a soft smile.

Satisfied with himself, Natsume began humming a small tune that sent you drifting off to sleep.

if there was one thing that you and chuuya had in common was stubbornness. noticeably he was more stubborn than you but you had your own ways of behaving in such a way. this trait paired with your love for eachother often meant it could have dire consequences that started as sweet intentions.

and that was what had occurred. a mission with your beloved, nothing seemed to be able to go wrong but there always was exceptions. something had caught you off guard and still left chuuya blindly unaware. and that something was a quick flash of what seemed to be one of the opposition's ability users.

it didn't really matter to you which one because before you knew it you had jumped in the way. red flashed in his vision as he turned around just in time to witness you get injured and all of a sudden it was like one of his worst fears come true. the enemy was crushed under the weight of gravity in a mere matter of seconds that was only intensified by his anger and panic.

simultaneously, he grabbed your body and brought it to his chest as he sat you down properly to assess the damage. it was a rather large gash that ran from your shoulder and across to your wrist. he wanted to scold you, he really did as if it were any worse you most likely would've died on the spot. but you were still here and if anything he needed to get you medical attention.

he always wanted to protect you. he wouldn't know what he would do should you leave, but he knew you'd do the same. which was what you did. and no matter how much he scolded you you could only sheepishly laugh and tell him it was worth it to keep him safe.

he was always extremely cautious about the line of work he occupied. especially when it came to involving you. the last thing he'd ever want was for you to receive his backlash for his mafia duties and it put you in danger.

but he knew how strongly you could feel about things and protecting him was one of those things. you were both well aware that either of you would go to the ends of the earth to protect each other. and you both would stick to that.

so when you offered to meet him after he finished for the day, seeing as he got let off earlier, you didn't think much of it. you greeted him with a smile and he did the same but immediately he could tell something was going to happen. his ability activated and his mond was filled with the gruesome image of you dying before his eyes.

so before anything happened he took you in his arms and to safety of the dingy little alley between the shops. he knew as long as he could see what happened next nothing could touch you. and so he was able to successfully loose the unknown assailant and then decided to just go home with you.

but even back in the safety of your shared home, those images stuck with him. what would he do with himself if he lost you? the image of you dying before his eyes taunted him constantly, playing at the back of his mind. and as he drew you ever closer at night, all he could think about was keeping you safe. even if he had to risk his life to do so.

it was rather a safe assumption to say that not many knew of his existence - or rather the ones that did, normally didn't have the friendliest intentions. it always did concern you a little but you knew he was capable and so were you! and the fact he was under witness protection for a reason you didn't know yourself.

but recently he had really worried you by arriving home later than he planned. he informed you that something occurred at the play he had set out to watch but it had been sorted and there was no worries. you hated when he did this. but you both knew by this point what that met and so you simply told him to keep safe.

but it seemed the group that was out for him this time were a bit more persistent than usual. he had left earlier the next morning and around lunch you informed him you were heading out for a shop and he offered to join you. by no surprise, he asked you to meet just neaf the bar he frequented for some reason.

you smiled upon seeing that same calico fur approach you. but something was wrong, call it intuition or call it spotting the shady figure standing not too far away. and as that figure broke into a sprint, so did you. and rightfully you sent them running but not after they landed a few hits on you. once the coast was clear, natsume shifted back and immediately took his place beside you.

you smiled at him, saying it was nothing really. but he wouldn't exactly call multiple deep slashes 'nothing'. he knew you'd do anything to protect him and he would do the same to you. doesn't mean he wont scold you when you go out of your way to protect him.

The towering stack of textbooks sat in front of you as you continued to type on your computer. The clock was ticking closer and closer to 3 a.m, and yet here you still were. Well, exams were drawing nearer and nearer, so you did not feel that there was anything wrong with sacrificing some sleep for studying.

Suddenly, two hands clasped your shoulders, slightly startling you. It was so late, who could it be?“My, My Y/n, what are you doing so latE?” He whispered softly, near your ear. His hair tickled your neck as he bent down and his warm breath fanned against the nape of your neck.

“Oh. It’s you Natsume.” Your words become slightly distorted as you yawn. “I’m just going to finish these last pages of the chapter then i promise to go to sleep” you continued.

“I don’t believe you for even a secOND, my love” he started combing his fingers through your hair and massaging your scalp. You could feel yourself slowly leaning into his touch and the tension in your muscles slowly melting. He whispered small “I love you”s and “y/n~” into your ear.

You softly mumbled “you’re putting me to sleep… stop”. Your eyelids felt as heavy as lead and slowly closing.

“That’s my purpose for all of thiS, didn’t you knoW?” He held your hand softly, leading you away from all the textbooks and your computer. Hand on the small of your back, he softly brought you to the direction of your shared bedroom. As you collapsed on the bed, you eventually drifted off for some much needed sleep.

Showing no sign of giving up, he started peppering your face with kisses everywhere.

You pushed his face away and finally relented. “Fine but give me a few seconds, my legs feel tired from sitting for too long-AH” Leo had already begun to throw you over his shoulder, carrying you to the bedroom. You hanged over his shoulder weakly, clearly surrendering.
