the lark has been a sacred bird to me for a very long time
in fact, I was considering it as a persona
I love how the lark creates its own song
from the songs over everyone around them
I also like the flower larkspur
it is a flower that symbolizes dreams
today a lark kept visiting near where I was sitting
when I looked closer I found its reason
another lark was HANGING FROM MY FIREPIT
it looked like the nose was tied around its broken neck
more practically it was caught on part of a rope
panicked itself into a mortal trap
it was in pieces so I gathered them and cut it down
no one wants to see a loved one like that
I assume there is some spiritual significance to this
in time I'll find one way to decipher the meaning
not today though
not today
the universe was heavy handed with this one
and I'm a little disturbed

Hi! Big fan.
So, there's the four major schools of magic (nature, artificery, flesh, mental (plus whatever's up with the kingmaker and the ambient Kehrseiter reality-alteration)). But there's specialities within them, at least for nature magic.
Is there a finite list within nature magic or is it less clear-cut?
Do similar specialties exist within the other four?
Can people control plants and if so, does it count as fleshcraft (as it manipulates complex cellular structures and natural processes) or naturecraft (most plants are not meat technically)
Magic is limited by the human imagination and thus is limited by human understanding of the way the world works. Mages cannot control elements that haven't been discovered yet.
All four of the magic schools have sub-classifications. Like we said in our video on magic systems, scientists aren't just scientists they're electro-chemical engineers, particle physicists, etc. Magic in the VSR works the same way. In season 2 you're going to see more sub-specifications of artifice and mentalism.
Controlling plants is an aspect of fleshcraft. Ariadne's spice garden is always in perfect health.
