🦇What is Kataang Halloween?

Kataang Halloween is a one-time, three-day mini-event hosted and created by @kataang-week on Tumblr for the first time this year. (However, there is potential for it to happen again in the future.) Kataang Halloween celebrates Kataang with a Halloween theme. All prompts were chosen by the mod team.

🦇How should I tag my work?

The easiest way for us to find your work so we can reblog it to this blog is by using the tag “kataang halloween”. Using “kataang” and “kataangtag” also help. You must tag one of the three in your first five tags otherwise it doesn’t appear in the search. It is also helpful to tag us directly with @kataang-week.

Sometimes even properly tagged posts may not appear when we search the tags, so if you do not see your content reblogged, please let us know.

Once we’ve reblogged it to this blog we add our own tags (a prompt tag and a user tag) for easy organization. 🌈 Welcome to WLWeek 2024 🌈

Hello everyone, I wanted to put together a nice, low-pressure event dedicated to my fellow wlw self shippers for one week of June because it's pride month, babey!! This is the first time I've ever tried to 'organize' an event, so take it easy on me, I'll try to be as communicative as possible and if anyone has questions about it, asks and DMs are always open!

“Hello teddy bear lady, we really should stop meeting like this.”

The handsome stranger, later introduced himself as John Price, ended up exchanging numbers after you bump into him ( again ) at the pub. 

Your niblings, especially your niece, were happy to see the “furry man” again, They couldn’t stop retelling the stories for days until your sister told them to give her a bit of peace and quiet. 

Your sister was quite surprised when he showed up on the doorstep, picking you up for the date. 

“Oh.. so.. He exists.” your sister elbowed you, she couldn’t contain the surprise on her face. 

“.. you think I made up the whole story with the kids just to pull a prank on you??” you rolled your eyes. 

“OHHHHH… your furry face feels so nice..!” Lizzy, your niece was again amazed by John’s facial hair and arm hair. 

John smiled at her as he held his arms out and let your niece poke and probe at his hair and mutton chop. 

“How about your legs? You say your legs are hairy too? Can I have a look?”

“Lizzy!” you chided. “Where are your manners! You don’t just go around and ask people to expose their body parts!” 

“Well… you went on and on about it for days after about it too… Remember?” Your sister mumbled under her breath.

“I did not!!!” you retorted, face started to burn up with embarrassment. Shooting a look at John, who is quite amused by the conversation between the three of you.  

Oh heavens. He must be thinking how strange your whole family is. Great. He is probably thinking of ways to bail out on you right now. But he just laughed as he retracted his arm and stood back up. 

Surprisingly, he didn’t bail out on you. At the end of the night, he gently took hold of your hands, gazing softly at you with his beautiful blue eyes, quietly asking you on another date. 

“I had a lovely time tonight. Can I see you again? I’ll cook for you. I can’t guarantee it will be michelin star quality but I promise you it is a lot better than the MRE ”

A man offers to cook for you? Who can say no to that?

You flinched as you felt the droplet of rain start hitting your face. Damn it, you thought, should have listened to the weather report and brought my brolly.  Now I probably have to call for a cab to get to the station afterwards. You huffed. Shrugging off the tote bag around your shoulder, and cradling it under the long coat like some valuable treasure to prevent it getting wet. 

Or maybe he would ask you to stay for the night, and you might get lucky for once…..

Shaking your head to get that dirty thought out of your brain, This is only the second date! Maybe I need to bleach my brain. Ugh, better run faster, hair is getting wet. You quicken your pace to run towards the destination before the rain starts pelting down on you. 

Double checking the address on your phone as you come up to an unassuming house at the end of a row of terrace houses. Adjusting your hold on the tote bag, you took a deep breath in before you knocked on the plain looking dark brown door, and took a step back, squaring your shoulder, waiting for him to answer the door. Few seconds later you heard the hurrying footsteps before the door opened.

There stands John Price, in a black dress pants and simple navy blue shirt, sleeves rolled up, tea towel slung over his shoulder. How does a man always make the simplest clothing look so good?

Your eyes quickly flick down towards the half apron he had on. Tight around his waist.

That slutty waist. 

Ok, you really need to get yourself into a nunnery after this to cleanse all these unholy thoughts. 

Taking one look at your slightly damp coat and wet hair, John frowned. "I should have gone and picked you up, I am sorry." He apologises as he quickly ushers you inside. "I was too caught up in the cooking to notice the weather outside." 

"No need to apologise, I should have heeded the warning from the weather bureau." you replied as he helped you to take off the coat and hang it up by the door. “I won’t melt like the wicked witch of the west with a little bit of rain.” you joked. 

“I got the heater going, come inside and you should warm up, you must be cold.” John commented as he gently put his hand on the small of your back as he led you inside.

You glance around as you walk past the corridor and living room. It's a minimalistically decorated flat.  There’s no television, a simple bookshelf, a three seater couch with a plain coffee table. 

A bachelor’s pad that he hardly lives in. 

“I don’t stay in this place a lot,” he said, as if sensing the question floating in your mind. “I also have a room I stayed in on site at the base if I work too late. Which is most of the time.”He chuckled. 

“Bit of a workaholic?” You teased, remembering what the three other men’s words about their Captain the night at the pub.

“You sure you want to date him bonnie?” the mohawk man who the others called Soap asked. “The Captain is an absolute workaholic, if he isn’t out on the field training with the crew, he is stuck in the office, nose deep in paperwork. Sorry Captain. Not trying to interfere with your chance at luring a bonnie into bed…”

The other two nodded their heads in agreement. John just groaned and shook his head, clearly not amused at Soap’s jabbing. You actually find it quite endearing, how close the four of them are just from their interaction, despite the differences in ranks. 

“Red or white?” 

“Um. uh, red please…” you hastily replied as you broke out from your reverie, realising you are now standing in front of the kitchen. Setting down the container of baked goods onto the kitchen bench, you fidget your hand nervously as he pours you a glass of wine.

“Can I.. Can I help with anything?” you offered meekly, wanting to do something to distract yourself. 

Shaking his head, he recorked the bottle and guided you to sit down on the stool. “I got it all under control. Trust me. I wouldn’t burn the kitchen down.” he smirked. “Just relax. Dinner shouldn’t be too long.” he reassures you before turning around and walking towards the oven. 

A pleasant savoury aroma wafting through the air as he opens the open door to check the food inside. 

“That smells really good.” you lean forward, inhaling the scent. “What’s on the menu?”

“Shepherd's Pie. with sides of vegetables and salad.” 

He chuckles as your eyes brighten with the mentioning of the dish. “I know it’s your favourite. It’s the first time I made it.I hope It won’t disappoint.” 

How does he know it’s your favourite? 

The dinner turns out to be absolutely delicious. He was, you have to admit, quite a decent cook. you couldn’t help to let out a moan as you took a bite of the steaming hot pie. 

The pie was well seasoned, the broccolini was well pan fried, and the salad was well dressed. 

Everything was simple, but well done to perfection.

He chuckled as you quickly inhaled the portion of your pie. “I am taking that is a good sign that I have done this right?”

You took a sip of the red wine, washing down the delicious food, as you shyly smiled at him, slightly embarrassed. You are still slightly tense and nervous in a private environment.Just you, and him. You never had anyone else invite you to a date at their house before. 

But part of you is glad he invited you over tonight. You get to see the real, more relaxed John Price side of him, without other people’s prying eyes, without him having to put up a front of being the Captain. 

“Oh dear, it’s really bucketing down outside now..” you mumbled as the sound of rain hitting the window caught your attention. The two of you shifted yourself from the dining table onto the couch after dinner, to get more comfortable as you sip on the hot herbal tea, nibbling on the chocolate biscuits you have baked as a simple dessert. You reach forward towards the coffee table for your phone, checking for the next train timetable.

Your heart dropped when the pop up notice on the website shows all trains have been suspended due to the severe weather and heavy rain. 

“Damn..nothing is running…” you groaned. You quickly open the ride share app to see if there are any rides nearby, it’s going to cost you a bit, but that’s probably your only way home now. Nothing was showing up either. You guess with how bad the weather is and even the public transports are all suspended, no one is going to risk their life driving on the road. 

“Stay for the night?” He offered in a quiet voice as he saw your worried face, struggling to decide what to do. 

“You take my bed, I’ll sleep on the couch.” he quickly added as your eyes grew wide at his previous suggestions, as if afraid he’s giving you the wrong idea. 

Forever a gentleman. 

You shook your head as you replied, “Um, I’ll take the couch, this is your home, I can’t kick a host onto the couch!”  

“I insist.” you were ready to debate with him, but one look from him ( the same look he gave to Soap and Gaz at the pub when they started to get a bit too rowdy) had you swallow down the words back in again. 

So now, you are sitting on top of his freshly made bed with crisp clean linen. Wearing some old t-shirts and sweatpants he managed to dig up in the death of his closet. . You subconsciously bring the overhanging sleep up towards your face, taking sniff. Smells exactly like him. Slight faint cigar and cologne smell. Making you feel really relaxed, and safe. 

“This looks very military style. Did you even manage to iron the bed while I was in the shower??” you teased as you inspected the crease free bed sheet. 

“Old habit dies hard.” he blushed as he turned his face away, not looking at you. “If you need me. I’m just down the hallway.” he cleared his throat, trying to cover up his fluster as he bid goodnight to you. “Have a good sleep. I will see you in the morning.” 

“John.”

“Hmm?” he turned towards you as he rested his hand on  the door knob, eyebrow raised. 

You shuffle yourself to the end of the bed, and walk towards him. Feeling brave, you reach your hands up, gently tugging him down to your height, and press a light kiss on his cheek, feeling his mutton chop tickle your face. 

“Goodnight. And thank you for letting me stay.” you whispered, looking into his beautiful blue eyes after you reluctantly pulled yourself away from him. 

His eyes flicker with emotion. Lips press tight, as if trying to control himself. Slowly letting out a breath, he pulls you into his embrace, kissing you gently on the head.

“Don’t mention it. Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bug bites.” 

The only thing that was biting you that night was a bug called love. 

“Captain, you let her sleep alone on your bed??? Oh these biscuits are good” 

“What a gentleman.”

“.. I’ll go make some tea. I hope you at least made her breakfast the next day.”

“Shut up you muppets. Get back to work.”

Wille's Month

In season 3, we finally got to know what day Wille’s birthday is. And guess what? It’s coming soon! So, as a first event, we’ve decided to make the whole month of May into Wille’s Month to give him the celebration he deserves. But don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of other events to include all the characters!

The event will be pretty simple. For each day of the month, there will be a prompt. Based on that prompt, you can create anything. A fanfic, a fanart, a drabble, an analysis, an edit, a moodboard, ANYTHING! As long as it is Wille related. Other characters can also be included, but Wille has to be the focus.

So now, we need your help. We want to know what type of prompts you would like. We are looking for prompts with one or two words. Here are some examples: Flower, Family, Secret, School, Lake, Sandwich, Friends, etc.

If there are any prompts you would like to see for this event, send us an ask and we will compile everything and make a prompts list out of them.

You have until April 15 to send us your prompt and we will reveal the prompts list on April 18. The guidelines on how to participate will be revealed along with the prompts list.

INTRODUCING REBELCAPTAIN SMUT WEEKEND MONTH

I'd made a promise to make something smutty, and I'm here to keep that promise. In the legacy of the much beloved Rebelcaptain Smut Weekend, I'm organizing a Rebelcaptain Smut Weekend Month! Since I felt like a single weekend was just not enough time for all the smutty goodness, I thought why not do four weekends instead? This gives us more to look forward to and more time to create.

SCHEDULE: the event will run during May, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (so that means May 3-5, 10-12, 17-19, and 24-26)

Happy 9/19 to Nevermoor fans 🫶. Here's to my favorite time of the year and the only thing keeping me sane during the eternal wait for Silverborn 💜

Mogtober is a fun event that takes place every October, in which people are encouraged to make Nevermoor fan content throughout the month according to a variety of prompts! It’s been going on since 2020, so this will be its 5th year (!!!) :) I love seeing people participate each year and it always makes me happy to hear how much people love it <3

Any rules are honestly quite vague, but here are some general tips and things to know:

From now on, there is just the curated 9-prompt list, but you can do more!

The list is like a starting point– you can pick and choose what prompts from the list you want to do, what order you want to do them in, how many you want to do, etc etc etc…

It’s meant to take place in October, but feel free to extend it past the end and indulge in a little Mogvember or Mogcember if you’re busy. The key is to have fun!

Most participants either write fanfic or draw fanart, but any type of fan content is encouraged!

There's no need to be super literal about the prompts: feel free to use them as inspiration, no matter how vaguely related the end result ends up being.

This has been crossposted on Instagram / Tumblr / Discord / Reddit, so feel free to share to your heart’s content– just make sure to keep the credit at the bottom if you repost it! The stars have aligned... HD Tarot Fest is here!

HD Tarot is a new Harry/Draco fest which uses the cards of the Major and Minor Arcana as prompts for fanart and fanfic. No prior knowledge of the Tarot is necessary to participate!

We encourage everyone to browse our list of the 78 Tarot cards (with links to their full meanings and interpretations) to see if any of them spark interest in any way.

The cards are the prompts. For artists, this means that you will be recreating your assigned cards in the style of Drarry, whereas writers will be using their assigned cards’ meanings to write their stories.

Claiming for Art

Requirements for Art

Your art piece needs to be an original work created for the purposes of this fest.

The art piece needs to incorporate the name of your assigned card, and reference the symbolism and themes associated with that card. Other than that, there are so many ways that Tarot cards can be interpreted—from literal to abstract—and we are happy to see your unique take on them!

The standard Tarot card size is 2.75’’x4.75’’ (7cmx12cm), so (at 300 dpi) the file resolution needs to be 900x1500 pixels. 

All art submissions will need to contain alt text to ensure accessibility for participants using screen readers.

Claiming for Fic

There are three options to choose from for fic claims:

One card (writer’s choice): you can claim 1 card prompt based on your own preference. For this option, you will need to list your top 3 preferred cards in the claim form, and the mods will assign one of those to you based on availability.

The minimum word count is 1,000 words. There is no upper limit!

All stories need to be complete, original works.

All works need to be directly submitted to the dedicated HD Tarot Fest AO3 collection.

You will need to add the hd_tarot_mod account as a co-creator when uploading your works to AO3. This is so that the mods are able to sort and backdate all entries before posting. The fest mod account will be removed from all works on AO3 once reveals are up.

Please ensure that you tag your work appropriately and list any relevant warnings.

In order for your submission to be confirmed, you will need to email the mods at hdtarotfest@gmail.com with the following header filled out:

HD Tarot is an 18+ fest. Participants will need to confirm that they are over the age of 18 when claiming their prompts.

The fest is anonymous, which means all submissions need to be original and not part of an ongoing/existing work on AO3 or anywhere else. Please also refrain from sharing any sketches and/or writing snippets publicly until after fest reveals are up. (You can, of course, discuss the fest and make it known that you’re participating!)

Prompts are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Only one prompt claim can be made at a time. However, if you complete and post your assigned prompt to the fest collection on AO3 before claiming closes, you are welcome to claim another prompt. 

Each card can be claimed once for art within the same fest cycle. This is because the overarching goal of the fest is to form a full Drarry Tarot deck at some point! If the Airtable prompt masterlist shows that a card has been claimed for art, then it’s no longer available for claiming in this fest cycle. 

However, all cards will be available for claiming in each subsequent fest cycle—we’re planning on labeling them as low priority in terms of the Drarry Tarot deck goal, but artists will be able to claim them next year even if they’ve already been drawn during a previous fest cycle.

Each card can be claimed multiple times for fic within the same fest cycle. That is why the claim form will not show that a prompt has been claimed or blocked out for fic. 

We do not accept works created with the use of AI.

It was Sam, who noticed first. Knowing every muscle of his brother's face and years of studying every one of his tiniest expressions helped, but at the end of the day it was due to that unexplainable connection between the two of them. The strange force that made his time at Stanford less enjoyable and more sleepless. So now he just knows that something is wrong with his brother. And when Dean orders his beloved chili fries and doesn't suck in every last bit in a matter of minutes, Sam and Cas exchange worried looks.

Their case is solved, dinner finished, and they are in for a 9-hour drive home. Another cue that something is not just as it should be is when Dean decides to let Sam drive after an hour and doesn't take a shotgun seat but joins Castiel in the back instead. When Sam glances in the rear mirror, he sees his brother's head resting on the angel's shoulder and the intense stare of the blue eyes.

Dean doesn't wake up the whole ride home. Cas somehow manages to arrange him into a more lying position, with his head on the angel's lap. Sam would have smiled at the sight if he wasn't focused on keeping his eyes open and on the road.

They reach the bunker at dawn, and Dean lets Castiel maneuver him out of the car and down the stairs.

“Get him to his room,” Sam says, his voice hoarse from not using and tiredness. “And I’ll bring some supplies.” Cas just nods and adjusts his grip around Dean's waist. He is taking off the hunter's shoes, when Sam comes in with water and some pills.

“Looks like he is going down with something…” Cas murmurs, letting the back of his palm touch Dean's cheek. He frowns and crouches beside the bed to lightly press his lips to Dean's forehead. “Definitely. His fever is high.” He whispers, now real concern lacing his voice.

The gesture looks a lot like a kiss. Dean would undoubtedly freak out if he was awake. But now Sam is too tired to analyze it further.

“Make sure he drinks a lot. And takes these once he is conscious enough.” he points to the meds. “Want me to stay with you?”

“No, Sam, I got this, you drove the whole night, go get some sleep.”

Sam nods and leaves, though he feels strange. He's never left his brother's side during an illness. Even as a child, he used to cling to his brother when any of them was unwell. Perhaps it had something to do with losing the only source of safety and care. Now Dean has his angel, Sam tells himself, lowering his pounding head onto the pillow. He is out in a few minutes.

In the meantime, Castiel frees Dean of most of his clothing, careful with every movement, expecting the hunter to shove him away and yell. But he doesn't react more than with a quiet sigh, and feeling his skin radiating unnatural heat makes Castiel worry even more. He tries to wake Dean up, but only succeeds in making him swallow some pills without choking. When the fever is still high, regardless of the meds, Castiel's anxiety reaches a dangerous level bordering panic. What if he is doing something wrong? Or not doing enough? He stares at the pale face of his friend, thinking. Dean would know what to do. He always does. Dean dealt with countless of Sam's childhood illnesses, even more wounds requiring various types of stitches, his father's drunken fits and hangovers. But now it's Dean who needs help, and Cas feels uncertain and incompetent. Afraid that he could make things worse. What is he supposed to do? Should he go get Sam?

Dean stirs in his sleep, and Castiel's train of thoughts is interrupted. He focuses on his friend, whose brow frowns, and his whole body tenses under the covers. Hands grip the sheets tightly and suddenly he opens his eyes wide, staring terrified and unseeing through the ceiling, breathing shallow, quick breaths. What is he seeing, Cas can only guess, but he is afraid he can guess correctly.

“Hey… Easy…” Cas reaches for Dean's hand and feels fingers clutching his wrist like a lifeline. “Whatever you see, it's not real. You are safe here, with me. It's just a dream. It's not real.” Cas whispers over and over again until Dean rests his head on the pillow and falls asleep, not letting go of his angel’s hand.

So until he loosens his grip, Castiel has no other option but to sit down on the floor by the bed and try to make himself comfortable. He feels Dean’s quick pulse under his fingertips and watches an unhealthy blush coloring hunter's cheeks. After what feels like hours the idea pops into Cas’ mind, and he makes a quick run to the sink with a handful of handkerchiefs. As soon as the wet cloth touches hot skin, Dean shudders violently and makes a little sound close to whimper. Cas's heart tightens. He puts his hand on Dean's cheek to calm him down, and the hunter leans into the touch as if trying to find some relief. The angel sits on the bed and cradles Dean's head, wanting to absorb the heat, illness, and pain.

“You are going to be ok, I'll take care of you.” He whispers to the unconscious man and feels Dean's chaotic fear and suffering flooding him, leaving him breathless. He has to do something, anything, to help, and fast. The echo of Dean's headache pounding in his own skull.

Dean is drifting in and out of consciousness, never lucid enough to hold a real conversation, just searching the space with glassy eyes that close with relief once he makes sure Castiel is with him.

“You are not alone,” Castiel tells him, knowing very well that Dean won't remember anything. “You won't be anymore.”

Hours go by and Castiel fills his time with wiping Dean's face, trying to get some water into him, changing cold compresses, and constantly checking the temperature. With zero improvement so far. Why is nothing working?

Finally, Cas knows he can't delay it anymore and a decision has to be made now. It's been hours and they haven't made any progress. Dean is exhausted and completely out of it from pain and fever, and Cas can't look at his dry lips and glistering, unseeing eyes any longer. It's time to take serious steps.

Dean is heavy. The dead weight of his nearly unconscious body is hard to carry. But not for the angel, who lifts him with ease, just like all these years before when they were leaving Hell. Castiel carefully lowers his trembling burden into the tube, and Dean immediately curls into a tight ball, shivering uncontrollably. Cas starts the lukewarm water and strokes Dean’s chest and back,

“Easy… try to relax” he murmurs, enfolding the hunter's arms. “This is going to help, you will feel better soon, just relax.” And finally, Dean does. Once the tube is filled, he straightens his legs and seems to be drifting off again. He slides a little and would go under if it weren't for Castiel’s grip.

“I’ve got you,” the angel sighs softly. “Don't worry, just relax and rest” he whispers, gently rubbing his chest and stomach in a slow circular motion.

This could be so much fun in different circumstances, Castiel thinks to himself, taking in his lover’s slim, muscular figure under the clear surface… What is he thinking about?!, he scolds himself immediately. It's definitely not a good time for such things. He has to admit to himself that he appreciates the sight before his eyes, though. 

Returning to the bedroom is surprisingly difficult because Dean, now somewhat conscious and wrapped tightly in the biggest towel the bunker can offer, insists on going on his own. This proves to be not the best idea when after a few steps his legs fail to support him, and he is forced to accept Castiel's outstretched arm reluctantly. 

The angel doesn't speak much now when Dean is able to comprehend what is being said to him. Helping Dean change into fresh clothes, and passing him pills and a glass of water, Cas carefully observes his patient, not daring to think that the worst is over now. Once Dean dozes off again, his fever rises a few degrees but only to break after a few hours, leaving the hunter drenched in sweat, weak and tired but finally fully awake and aware of his surroundings.

Seeing Dean putting on his T-shirt without help convinces Cas that his job is finished. He stands up slowly, mutters some “I’d be going” and turns to leave. That's when his hand is gripped one more time this night.

Cas catches Dean’s gaze lucid at last and though the man doesn’t utter a sound, the angel can hear one word, clear as a bell: Stay.

Steam rose in ribbons from the mug of coffee between Lydia’s chilled hands like smoke from the rubble of a burned building.

Condensing on the window in front of her as rain fell beyond the glass, she convinced herself it was the steam that made her cheeks streaky and stained with makeup. A sigh fell from her lips, coming out far shakier than she meant it to, surely summoning (poor choice of words, she scolded herself) the ever-present Betelgeuse to her side.

Since the failed marriage to Rory, Lydia hadn’t exactly minded Betelgeuse’s presence in her life. In fact, he’d become almost part of the family.

As she dealt with the deaths of her father and Delia, BJ would keep Astrid from sinking too far into isolation. He would accompany her to school dances, bend metaphysical rules to help her get by— even tutor her. Not that Astrid needed much help in school. And yet she’d pretend for his sake.

She hadn’t called him dad, but some nights when the three of them curled up on the couch to watch movies, Lydia would catch her daughter leaning into him, jumping at the opportunity to have his protective arm wrapped around her shoulder and her head on his chest.

It was sweet. But Lydia was still broken.

Rory had hurt her worse than anyone had in a long, long time. Lydia, not for the first time in her life, felt unlovable.

She didn’t know how to fix it, and she certainly didn’t have anyone to talk to. Betelgeuse’s piercing eyes bored into the side of her face as she refused to look at him, her gaze pinned to the spattering rain outside.

“Hey toots,” the demon gruffed, a smirk crawling onto his stubbly face. When Lydia didn’t respond, he prompted, “What’s th’ matter, babes?”

Lydia blinked at the window, feeling more tears spring into her vision. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Betelgeuse waving one hand in her direction, flesh morphed into an awkwardly adorable kitten’s paw. “Cat got yer tongue?” he snorted loudly.

Normally Lydia would laugh. Not this time.

Betelgeuse’s smile fell away after a moment, his brow pulling into a deep furrow as he leaned forward in his own chair and blinked longingly in Lydia’s direction.

“Hey,” he said a little more sternly than his earlier jokes. “Lyds— y’know what ever’s th’ matter, I’m a great listener.” He holds out his arms idiotically, lips twisted in a charming, devilish smirk.

Lydia shook her head weakly, fearing that even if she tried to tell him everything that was on her mind, her voice would fail her before she could start.

Betelgeuse softened, the ghostly persona shifting for a few seconds to reveal the concerned man beneath. “Seriously.” His rough voice lowered, the rhythmic pounding rain almost drowning him out. “Talk to me, babes.”

Lydia heaved another deep sigh, finally looking over to see Betelgeuse dropping his chin onto his palm placidly, leaning in to listen.

Lydia swallowed hard and muttered dismissively, “It’s a long story.”

Betelgeuse smiled sweetly. Not a smirk, or a self important grin. A loving, adoring smile, his eyes practically filled with stars as he stared at Lydia’s teary face.

And he told her gently, “I have time.”

The event is open to everyone who enjoys the BBU. You don't have to be a writer or a long time participant, or anything, it's enough to just be someone who is fascinated by the universe! There's also no need to fill in all the prompts; no completionist badge will be awarded. The only "rule" is: if you want to boost your own content, please always boost someone else's too.

This year's prompts are in parts similar to last year's, some even stayed the same due to their success and popularity. Looking forward to seeing your new takes to it.

April 14 / Community Prompt: (Re)Introduction / (Re-) Introduce yourself and give a little overview about your BBU writing / creations, favorite tropes, and the like.

April 15 / Worldbuilding Prompt: Questions (and Polls!) / What's an open question you've always asked yourself about the BBU?

April 16 / Writing Prompt: "RULES" / Write a BBU story based on the one-word-prompt and share it!

April 23 / Creation Prompt: In-Universe Media / Create a piece of media that could exist within the BBU!

April 25 / Worldbuilding Prompt: Archetypes / What’s a standard element of BBU worldbuilding you love to come back to in your own writing, and that makes you happy to see in others’? What are potential spins to it?

April 26 / Writing Prompt: "MADE FOR IT" / Write a BBU story based on the prompt and share it!

April 27 / Showcasing Prompt: Caretaker / Talk about your current favorite BBU caretaker OCs - be it pet lib activists, kind (?) owners, a boxie's loved ones... - (one of your own, one or more by someone else) with commentary on what makes them special to you!

April 28 / Creation Prompt: Collaboration / Create a piece of BBU content together with another community member!

We begin our first day of Hana Lee Appreciation Week 3.0 TOMORROW!!

In our previous editions, we had kept Hana's AWs on days that celebrated her passion - music! This time, we decided to shake things up a little, and hold the event around the time of World Book Day! This time of the year is also fitting because it will be spring in many parts of the world, and there are very few things that remind us of Hana more than flowers do!!

Day 1 has two themes to choose from - Character Appreciation and Throwback.

We love having Character Appreciation as a theme because it encompasses everything!! Anything goes - as long as it includes whatever you love most about Hana.

Throwback is simple - any creative work on Hana that you've done before this edition of HLAW came out! Reblog any fic, art or meta that you've done before on her, and if you'd like to take us through the process of how you made the work - we'd love to read all about it!!

Any content is welcome!! Fanfic, fanart, edits, moodboards, interactive, media, headcanons, screenshots, playlists, meta...even screenshots of your favourite scenes would be great!! Our only requirement is that the content is centered on Hana, and that the depiction of her is positive. You can also send in WIPs in case you don't complete a work!

You can also send in a work on the days following a particular theme - this is no pressure for it to be put up exactly that day! We will also have an extra week for anyone who still needs time 💕 May 4th will be our final official date for entries (to incorporate into our video!) but HLAW will still be open for entries for the rest of the year until the next event!
