i love small town protests in the US rn because it's like. Dont just think LA and NYC are resisting trump and ICE. These 7 hippies on a bridge are too. I love looking at the No Kings protest map and seeing protests that look like theyre in the middle of the forest. Like we hate trump in times square and we hate him in the village square; why yes we hate him everywhere

Thank you. Because Eddie S. Glaude is a Black professor at Princeton who wrote a pretty famous recent biography on James Baldwin, as well as a book that seemed to be in every NYC bookstore during the 2020 BLM protests:

But he also told Black people not to vote in the 2016 US presidential election, and then pulled a "whoopsie, I was wrong" after Trump won. And I think about what a POS he is sometimes, but I feel like he's never faced proper criticism for it because he still fits the liberal ideal of who a "good" person is.
June 9, 2025, NYC Resists with Gaza tells specifically Indigenous people in the USA that they shouldn’t vote:

Because why fight disenfranchisement when you can discourage Native Americans in the U.S. from exercising their rights?

Poor Chakri is just trying to do his job, man. But also... man, Khanin is way too comfortable giving orders royally already.
Tumblr media
I know he's just supposed to be repressed but I kind of wish he was actually uncomfortable and not just repressed.
But nope.
Tumblr media
Also, this is why princes have entire teams of bodyguards instead of just ONE. This exact situation! That's why one bodyguard is not enough. Let alone the fact that none of the other royals had bodyguards of any sort.

You said you were only doing it to find out what happened to your father anyway, didn't you?

"bg3 set the new standard" "bg3 spoiled us" GIRL bg3 shipped unfinished with unequal content for the companions to favor the whitest man possible, and after treating the single black person in the companions like actual shit bc racists were mad about him even existing and they listened. this is not the standard i want for video games lmao

i keep seeing this idea that Real wheelchair users all have custom active chairs, and that transport/standard chairs are just an embarrassing stereotype. “no one really uses those!” “stop drawing disabled characters in standard chairs!!”
well, plenty of us are a stereotype. sorry. custom chairs require MONEY and good medical support. meanwhile active chairs are unusable for some people. i used an uncomfy transport chair (the kind with tiny wheels and no way to self propel) for a year, and a standard chair for 7yrs. until i got my powerchair i was only ever pushed by a carer. a lot of disabled people will never use an active or custom chair. don’t pretend we don’t exist just because we don’t fit some cool independent ideal.
shoutout to people who use transport chairs and adaptive strollers and other chairs that need to be pushed by a carer
shoutout to people who use standard chairs that don’t fit their body
shoutout to people who use secondhand or makeshift wheelchairs
in my teens i literally felt invalid as a disabled person because i didnt have the ‘real actual’ type of wheelchair everyone talks about online. just my garbage transport chair that my mom had to push. but people with shitty wheelchairs exist and are extremely common actually

I wish seeing his alliance shift had been more interesting but it felt like his alliance and loyalty shifted in the first episode and never went back and that makes it feels much.... less... like a big deal. It does not feel like a Big Moment, it just feels like... something that had to happen. There would be ways to make it feel like something bigger but that would involve both characters having flaws and we're not allowing that because that would reflect badly on the actor's relationship outside of the show and the fans can't handle that.
Y'know what, at least GMMTV lets the characters have flaws. They might no be the best or deepest flaws but they're better than 'he fulfills his role too perfectly' or 'he stands up for women's equality in a society that doesn't because he as raised in a society that does' or 'he fights for things sometimes because they're the right thing to do' or the most dreaded flaw 'he was openly gay but also there are no lasting consequences for that despite everyone else suffering in the closet because the main characters can't actually get in trouble or be affected by these things for more than a few minutes' and no being poisoned because his grandfather is an idiot isn't a consequence for HIM, he's FINE.

I'm mostly going to be focusing on staying spiteful and hopeful today but since I've already seen a handful of posts that are like this I do wanna remind everyone that we are dealing with a major surge in radical feminist ideology in queer and progressive spaces, and while I won't fault anyone for venting, now more than ever it is important to familiarize yourself with what radical feminisim is(it is not just hating trans people or trans women it is SO much more and anyone who pretends otherwise is misinformed or intentionally lying) and why it's so dangerous and figure out how to talk about the way the alt-right is targeting young (mostly)white men without getting radfem-y about it.
Don't call them "males" don't act like men are born with misogyny built into their DNA do NOT fucking act like trans men are the enemy and don't spread hopeless bullshit about how men can never improve or will always hate women and thus are a lost cause and the only people we'll ever be safe around are women and queer men who abandon masculinity completely. In the coming years queer, intersex, marginalized, and even some cishet white men will be your allies, they are not a lost cause, they can be swayed to our side, and acting like it's impossible for men to change UPHOLDS the very system that is indoctrinating them right now, it does NOTHING to fight it.
Fr check this at the door now. Radical feminism is inherently racist, sexist, transphobic, intersexist, classist, monosexist, and white supremacist and it will NOT save us. I don't care if the person selling you on it is trans or queer or a person of color, radical feminisim is never truly inclusive and WILL NOT SAVE US. Gender and bio essentialism are the tools of the enemy, we do not need them. Abandon them now and purge them from your theory, community, and self.
Solidarity will save us. Radical feminism will only divide and destroy.
