"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and, like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more."

Lomography Digitaliza Max Review: It's Fun and Easy!
It's less than $100!
One of the things I miss most about the darkroom is watching my image come to life in the developer. It was magical. Thankfully film photography is here to stay. However, the total hands-on approach isn’t always possible, so most photographers outsource their film and rely on professional labs for scanning. But, the associated costs can quickly add up and aren’t always feasible. The Lomography…

I had been waking up a long time.
I was a masters student trying to focus on my studies while I was drowning in despair with loans looming over my head. I don’t know how it happened. There wasn’t a revelation. Maybe it was just a desire to no longer be there. I woke up and I was a mother. My husband had died so I had to manage the farm. Life was hard, but I stayed awhile for my children. I continued to wake up. I ruled kingdoms, worked for billionaires, explored the wilderness and built soaring towers. The time I spent in each life shortened with each awakening. Eventually, I didn’t bother to pause and tarry. I opened my eyes a million times in succession until I open them in the parlor.
I reclined on a lounge chair made of aged wood and soft velvet. I was dressed in cool linen. “Hello,” said the man seated in a chair nearby. He wore similar clothing. “Who are you?” I said.
“A custodian.”
“Where am I?”
“Near the Surface.”
“Surface?”
I looked around. There were several other lounge chairs in the parlor with sleeping occupants. Doors opened into other parlors with more sleepers and these lead to others, and others, and others…
“You have a few choices,” said the custodian.
“What are they?”
“Go back to sleep into the Depths, wake up to the Surface, or become a custodian.”
“What is the Surface?”
“A moment before the End. All the stars have burnt out. The last bit of energy is being used to simulate Eternity. Infinite layers of reality.”
“What happens if I wake to the Surface?”
“You will witness everything cease. After that, it is a mystery.”
“Has anyone chosen this?”
“Many.”
“What would I do as a custodian?”
“Keep watch. And inform people of their choices when necessary.”
“Will I forget if I return to the Depths?”
“Yes.”
“I think I will go back to sleep.”
“As you wish. Close your eyes when you are ready.”
