#neighbor bucky barnes
Note
So I saw that you were wanting Bucky requests, and I didn't see any rules, but how about something where his new neighbor (from the apartment in FATWS) is this cute plus size woman who he keeps running into and slowly falling for? But maybe one night he happens upon her while she's getting mugged and saves her. From there she asks him out to dinner as a way to pay him back and it could end in fluff of them starting to date, or smut. Either way.

It all started when you stumbled through your elevators carrying a heavy moving box while bucky was getting his mail, knocking into him as you squeaked out an apology.
"Sorry!" You spoke. you sounded out of breath as you dropped the box on the doorstep next to his, huffing as you leaned against the door. "You must be my neighbor!" You said in fatigued glee, a small smile on your face as you took in his disheveled appearance.
Usually, people never greeted him, the residents in the building avoiding him even though he helped to save their planet. He peeked behind him, a way of asking if you were talking to him.
"Yeah, you." You said, your smile widening. "Oh," he chuckled awkwardly, "Yeah, hey, I'm bucky." you approached him, your clammy hand taking his rough one in yours. You told him your name. "Nice... well, uh— I'll see you?" You nodded, letting his hand go. "Yeah, definitely!"
That wasn't the last time that he saw you, and he slowly grew glad that it wasn't. You were kind to him, the second day of you living there, you brought him a whole tub of cookies.
"Yeah?" He greeted rudely as he opened the door. Your grin didn't falter as you presented the container full of the baked treats to him. He felt bad, guilt twisting in his gut. This was definitely not a good reflection of his character.
"Oh, are those for me?" You nodded. "Yeah, I made a lot of them last night, kind of as a way to say, 'yay I'm living all by myself!'" Your grin slowly fell, "I don't even know if you like this kind! oh my gosh, I'm sorry. if these aren't, tell me what you like, and I'll make more—" He cut you off by taking the plastic container from out of your hands. "I like chocolate chip. you can never go wrong with the classics." You smiled once more. "What a relief."
And for the first time, he found that be liked when you smiled, and he was going to keep it that way, for as long as you lived there.
The third time he had saw you, there was a bad storm, one that had taken out the power throughout the entire building. There was a tiny knock, bucky holding back his rude greeting as he opened the door. There you stood, a look of fear on your face even though you tried to give him a grin.
"This might be a strange question, but can I stay here for the night?" Bucky's body froze at the request, for the first time in forever he felt nervous, nervous around you. Nonetheless, he allowed you to come in, moving his body out of the way so that you could walk through. Your bodies brushed for a brief moment and red painted the tips of his ears; you were so soft, and you smelt good. That was when he knew he had fallen for you, the cute chubby woman that lived next door.
You two grew closer since then, and he began to unconsciously grow attuned to your schedule. So, when he hadn't heard the familiar sound of you entering your home, he panicked, getting up from his spot from the couch and grabbing his jacket. He walked the streets around your apartment, and that's when he heard it, a commotion going on from an alleyway not even a block away.
"Let go!" He heard your voice screech. "Just give me your shit lady!" he practically ran, standing at the entrance like a vigilante, his figure illuminated by the streetlights. "Let the damn purse go. now." He all but growled. The man would have been an idiot to not recognize the voice of the winter soldier. He let go of it, your body falling back slightly as he took off.
"Bucky?" You asked unsurely. "It's me, doll. Are you alright?" You nodded, reaching out for him as he sweetly took your hand in his, leading you out and onto the sidewalk. "Yeah, I just— I thought that it would be safe enough for me to take a short cut but... I guess not." You explained, a sad laugh escaping your throat. Then, Bucky pulled you into his arms, holding you close to him as you stood in his arms, frozen.
"I'll pick you up from work for now on." You gently pushed him away. "it's okay, buck. you don't have to do that; I can just catch a cab or something." Butterflies fluttered inside your stomach as he cupped the side of your face.
"I want too." You he said softly, peering into your eyes as if he was afraid that you would fall apart.
"Then you can." You said quietly. The air was thick with tension, both of you hesitant to take the next step. His lips brushed yours as he moved his head. You pushed up on your toes, your lips finally locking in a long-awaited kiss as you melted into his arms. You had been pining over the misunderstood man ever since you had moved in, ever since you had seen him brooding in the hallways in a wife beater, looking as though he was completely worn down.
When you separated, you were gasping for air, your hands clamped down on the collar of his jacket, holding him close to you.
"I uh— I was going to make dinner when I got home, if you would like to join me?" You asked, looking up at him through your eyelashes. For the first time, you had saw him smile. It was nothing too big, just a slight raise of the lips, but you would take it.
"Yeah, I would like that a lot." He breathed.
"Awesome." You said with a grin before leaning up to kiss him once again.

Hello Neighbour
Pairing: DILF!Neighbour!Bucky Barnes x Reader
Next Chapter: Part 2
Tumblr media
warnings: fluff, Dilf!Bucky (yes he is definitely a warning)
a/n: hey so this is just a concept which came to my mind and if you would like to see more of them, maybe there will be more 👀 for now, meet Bucky Barnes, your neighbour.
"Becca wait!" the three year old Barnes was chasing Alpine across the corridor. The two finally came to a stop in front of an apartment and Bucky followed quickly. Before the three could go back and before Becca could explain her random urge to run after their cat, you opened the door.
"Oh- um- hi there." The three outside your door momentarily closed their eyes as they took in the delicious smell coming from your apartment. You smiled to yourself.
"S-sorry miss, my cat, then my daughter were running while I was trying to catch up and they stopped here, I guess Alpine could smell the delicious fish you're cooking. Sorry for disturbing you." Bucky cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his head, standing up properly.
"That's alright" you chuckled. "Glad to know Alpine approves my cooking." the kitty cat purred softly, and the curious young girl looked at you with her bright blue eyes.
"Becca come on lets-"
"Did you all move in recently?" you asked the man.
"Yeah, this is more of a temporary adjustment before we find a better place." Bucky closed his eyes trying to realize why he would say that. "Not that I'm saying this isn't a good place, it's great, well maybe not great, but-"
"Daddy stop, you embawassing me" the kid announced and you couldn't help but laugh.
"It's alright, I get what you mean. Hope this place treats you nicely. Even if it's temporary."
Maybe the place wasn't so bad, had some good neigh- as in good qualities, Bucky thought.
"Would you all like to come in for lunch or dinner sometime?"
"Oh we don't wanna bother-"
"Yes pwease." Becca beat her father to it, and already made plans.
"Becs!!" she looked innocently at her father. "Gosh, you're such a smarty pants."
They were all so cute. The dad- okay control your emotions, and don't stare- you told yourself. You could see a small smirk on the man's face as he caught you staring.
"I'm Bucky, by the way. And this is Becca, and that's Alpine." You gave them your name with a smile.
"Lovely to meet you all." Becca waved at you as Alpine and her hurried back to their place. Bucky stood there a little longer. Not exchanging words, just looking at you with a charming smile. Becca got her eyes from her dad, you noticed.
"Well I guess I'll see you soon then, neighbour."
"You too, neighbour." With that Bucky made his way back as well. You couldn't help but look at him while he walked towards his apartment. He turned back and your cheeks heated up, being caught again. With another gorgeous smirk, and a barely there wink, the man went inside his flat, and so did you.
"You were right Becs, this is a nice place."

Tumblr media
"Ow,” you wince, “damn it," you grumble to yourself as you set your eyeliner pencil down, blinking rapidly to quell the tears you could feel about to form in your eye. You huff and turn to look down at the cause of your distraction, your phone ringing loudly as it lays on the counter. You see the caller and preemptively roll your eyes. Not this again.
You swipe to answer the call and his voice immediately floats into your ear, giving you no time to even utter a 'hello'.
"Before you say anything-"
"No," you state firmly, annoyance clear in your tone as you stop him before he can begin.
"Doll,"
"Bucky, I said no," you cut him off again. "It's a no. No. No, no, no. Not gonna happen," you continue despite his pathetic huff sounding on the other end.
"I know you said no..." he says before trailing off for a second, "but, doll, I really need you."
Damn him. You sigh heavily into the phone, putting a hand to your forehead to stop the headache you know is coming. He's really trying to pull on your heart strings... unfortunately for him, it's not gonna work.
"You don't need me, Bucky. You're gonna be fine. They're your friends, if you just tell them what you told me, they'll understand. You have nothing to worry about."
"That's not," he huffs, stopping himself, and you can almost hear him shake his head, "Will you at least try to come by?"
You know you won't, but you don't want to upset him any more than he already is.
"Yeah, I'll try. And stop worrying so much. You'll have a good time, I know it," you smile, the thought of him and his friends enjoying their New Year's Eve tugging at your lips.
"Yeah," he responds, sounding a little unsure. "Okay, well, I'll see you later?"
"Mhm...maybe," you say.
"Doll," he groans, causing an unbidden laugh to slip from you at his dramatics.
"I said I'd try, no promises! But I do have to go now, so, talk later. Bye," you finish, hanging up on him before he can try and talk you into making a promise you have no intention of keeping.
You sigh heavily as you set your phone back down, returning to your almost finished makeup. Just because you aren't going out doesn't mean you can't look good.
You're still so surprised he asked you to be his fake date to his New Year's Eve party. Both because you were surprised he was hosting a party to begin with, and because he needed a fake date.
But that was just it, he didn't need a fake date. He wanted to get his friends off his back with the constant set ups and double dates they'd plan for him. What he really needed to do was tell them the truth, just like he told you. He didn't want to date, at least not right now. He said his mind was on other things. That was understandable, so you weren't sure why he couldn't just tell them that...
A part of you feels bad for not helping Bucky out, but the other part of you knows you'd feel like a total outsider at a small party being attended by the avengers.
Like, the real-life superhero team, The Avengers.
That was an immediate 'no thank you'.
You were content to spend the night alone; just you, your grapes, and some apple cider to cheers to the new year.
--
The television plays on, another episode of a show you've seen ten times before just starting up, as a knock sounds at your door.
You furrow a brow as your head shoots in its direction. It only takes a second for you to come to the conclusion that it must be Bucky. You set your drink down and stand from where you were sitting cozily on your couch.
You fix your dress, and for no reason at all, check yourself in the mirror before you near the door, making sure your makeup isn't smudged and your hair still looks nice as you do.
There's another knock as you get to it and you open your door with a bit of attitude at his impatience.
"Bucky, how many times-" you're stopped short as you quickly see that the man before you is, in fact, not Bucky. "Oh, uhm, sorry, can I help you?" you ask.
"Yeah," the man laughs, "I'm here for the party. This is the right apartment, isn't it? Bucky Barnes?" he asks, looking at you quizically.
"No," you answer, "no, wrong apartment. He's just," again you're cut off, but this time by the door right down the hall opening, none other than Bucky peeking out to look down at you and - oh my god wait...is this - this is - holy shit you're talking to Captain America. Your eyes round as you look from Bucky back over to the man before you. "Oh, gosh, you, you're,"
"Sam Wilson," he smiles brightly at you, extending a hand. You shake hands as he continues, "and you must be-"
He is cut off from saying your name as it comes out of Bucky's mouth, almost frantically. You look from Sam back over to Bucky, your eyes still wide.
"I know you're still getting ready, but would you come here for just a second," he nods at you. You look once more between Sam and Bucky, your eyes narrowing as they land back on your own personal pain in the ass. What the hell is he up to... You and Sam go to walk over to him but Bucky speaks again. "Not you, Sam. You stay there," he says in a fuss. Sam puts his hands up, a look of confusion clear on his face at Bucky's demand.
You continue toward him and as soon as you're close enough to touch, he pulls you to him, turning you both so Sam can't see what you're saying. It's a hushed conversation, a whispered argument, really.
"You have to come over."
"No, I really don't."
"You do."
"I don't."
"You're staying."
"No, I'm not."
"You're staying. I'm not letting you leave," he says, trying to corral you into his apartment as you swipe at him, a back and forth of swats ensuing between the two of you.
"Bucky!" you finally whisper yell, stopping the battle as you ball your fists, almost stomping like a toddler in your annoyance. "What the hell are you doing?"
"I lied."
"Huh? To me? About what?"
"To all of you. But mostly them. I told them you'd be here. Because I thought you would be. But then you said you weren't coming, but I couldn't tell them that or they'd think I was just making up another lie about you..."
"Another lie?"
"I...may have... told my friends that we're dating and have been for a few weeks," he murmurs under his breath, so quiet you can barely hear his confession.
"You what?" you balk, trying your hardest to squash the stupid butterflies that are fluttering around in your stomach now at the idea of not only dating Bucky, but of being someone he brings up in conversation to other people.
"Alright, love birds, cute as this is, are one of you gonna invite me in or am I just supposed to stand here awkwardly in your hallway all night?" Sam interjects, walking to you both as you turn your heads to look at him.
Bucky turns entirely, moving closer to you, slipping his arm behind your back and resting his hand on your hip, "Yeah, welcome in. Steve said he'd be here with beer in a few minutes," Bucky says, an annoyed edge to his voice as he lets Sam through the door. Sam raises a brow at you and you force a smile. As soon as he's inside, Bucky snaps the door shut behind him, leaving you both in the hallway still.
"What the hell," Sam says, loud enough for you to hear through the door.
"Look, it started as a lie to get out of a date, but then I just kept using you an excuse to not go to things I didn't wanna go to. And ya know, more than half the time I wasn't really lying because I was with you," he tries to excuse himself.
"Are you insane?" you ask him plainly.
"I know, I'm sorry, but I really need you to be here tonight, please," he begs, his puppy eyes starting to get to you.
"You had only asked me to be your fake date."
"Yeah, once you said yes, I was gonna work the girlfriend thing in," he smiles wryly, rubbing the back of his neck in his anxiousness.
"You're ridiculous, you know that?"
"Is that a yes?"
You roll your eyes before acquiescing, "Fine. But you've gotta come clean tomorrow. You can't start the new year with secrets, it doesn't bode well for anyone."
"Deal," he smiles his real smile this time. Then his eyes drift down to your outfit and you warm, like you always do, under his attention. "You look good," he says softly, sincerity in his voice.
"Thanks," you accept quickly. You will not let him fluster you so easily. Not tonight.
--
More of Bucky's friends arrive soon after you get back from your apartment, your bag of grapes and bottle of unopened cider in hand. Bucky introduces you to each of them and you're now unsurprised that they know your name and exactly who you are. And you, for your part, are in awe of each and every one of them. Though you like to think you don't make it obvious.
And it's surprising how normal it all feels.
You for sure thought you'd be a nervous wreck around these people, but, especially with Bucky by your side, you've never felt so calm and comfortable, and at a party of all places. Though you suppose it helps that you're already so comfortable around his apartment. Still, it's nice. They're nice. And fun!
Card games are played, karaoke sung, and stories told as you all snack and chat the evening away.
You're all laughing as Sam talks about how everyone was sure Bucky had been making you up like a summer camp girlfriend after the fifth time he claimed you were sick or out of town so you couldn't show up to the events they had invited you to. Of course, you had no idea about any of them, but you do know where you were each and every night they brought up.
You were here.
With Bucky.
So, he wasn't completely lying. You smile and look to Bucky who stands right next to you. Your eyes instantly meet his, a smile of his own already gracing his face. You look back down, bashful despite yourself.
The night has passed so quickly and it's already nearing midnight. You're about to go get your grapes ready, but Steve's voice stops you, catching your attention.
"Ya know, I can't even remember the last time I've seen you look so happy, Buck," Steve smiles as he looks at the two of you. "I'm really happy for you, both of you,” he adds. “It's obvious how much you two care about each other. It's good to see."
You don't know what to say, and you're too scared to look at Bucky. You just force another smile, feeling a bit sad more than anything. Because this isn't real. Whether you'd like it to be or not. It isn't. You have to remind yourself of that.
Bucky's hand squeezing your waist, and the feeling of his admiring gaze on you as he pulls you closer to his side, doesn't help. It just makes that pit in your stomach grow deeper.
This is easy for him because it means nothing.
This is killing you because it means everything. It’s everything you never give yourself permission to dream about. Everything you want. And it’s what you know isn’t for you. It couldn’t be.
Just a few more minutes, you breathe, and then you'll go back to normal. No dating, just friends...just friends? Whatever it is you are to him...
You're lost in thought as the conversation continues around you, Bucky's hand never leaving you and his gaze never wavering. Even as he engages in the conversation, his attention is solely on you.
"Oo, countdown is going!"
The yell pulls you out of your head as your eyes snap to the television. What the hell! How did you just lose eight minutes? Damn Bucky always taking up your thoughts and distracting you.
You don't have the time to get to the fridge for your grapes as the kitchen is crowded, flutes of cider and champagne being passed out among the group.
You tsk, oh well. At least you have on your red underwear.
As the count gets lower, Bucky gets closer, and you mindlessly lean back into him as you watch the live broadcast from Time Square. Ten seconds hits and you all count along, Bucky's other arm comes around as he holds you from behind. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Bucky turns you around in his arms, catching you off guard as you look up at him, your hands coming to rest on his chest.
Two.
He leans in, and you're frozen. His nose brushes yours, as his lips brush against your own. Oh.
One.
"Happy New Year," he whispers against you, cheers and exclamations of the same sentiment shared all around the living room, between everyone else.
"Happy New Year," you whisper back breathily before you unthinkingly press closer to him.
His lips meet yours as he leans in ever closer and kisses you, so softly. Your eyes flutter closed as you return his affection, kissing back harder than you intend before you break away. It feels like magic, it feels like home. And you want nothing more than to do it again. To lose yourself in him so delightfully…
You remember yourself then and almost shy away completely before Bucky takes your face in his hand, turning you back to him. You lock eyes once more and you feel like you can't breathe at what you see in his. You don't have time to think on it before his eyes flick down to your lips and then he's kissing you again. His lips press harder against yours, still moving just as gently but somehow it feels much more intimate. Sincere. Real.
You deepen the kiss and then suddenly the whooping and claps around you both bring you back to reality.
You pull away, taking a sobering breath, blinking away the haze of longing as Bucky's delicate touch remains on your cheek. You gingerly reach to take his hand, slowly pulling it off of you. You hold it for a second, squeezing his hand before letting it drop.
The celebration continues all around but you need to get yourself together. Alone.
"'M gonna use the bathroom," you whisper to him, knowing he can hear you even through the din.
You exchange 'Happy New Year' exclamations with everyone you pass on your way to his bathroom and bid goodnight to the people already getting ready to head home. A lot of them have early mornings at the tower, so you get it.
There are only a few people in the living room with Bucky as you look back before you escape to the bathroom, taking your time to decompress.
Sam, Steve, and Nat were talking with him, but his eyes were on you when you looked at them.
You knew this was a bad idea. You knew you'd get caught up in the fantasy. And somehow, he still got you to do it. You curse yourself in the mirror and then notice your smudged lipstick.
The thought of your lipstick staining Bucky's lips right out there has you in a flurry of emotions...
He kissed you. Twice. That actually happened. But did it really mean anything?
Your heart twists as you refuse to believe it could have. You just need to... God, you don't know what you need. All you know is right now you can't stop thinking about Bucky's hands on you. You can't stop thinking of how soft and supple his lips are. And how damn good of a kisser he is.
You look at yourself once more in the mirror.
Fucking hell. What are you gonna do? You sigh, eyes squeezing shut before you shake your head at yourself.
You turn back to the door, opening it right when someone's knock hits.
You're somehow surprised, and yet not at all, to see Bucky staring back at you as you pull it open wider.
"Hey," you say, raising a brow and shoving every fuzzy feeling threatening to strangle you back down.
"Hey," he started. "Everyone left. I just, uh. Wanted to make sure you were okay."
"Yeah, I'm good," you nod.
"I'm sorry. About kissing you."
"Oh," you utter - sounding more dejected than you wanted to. "Yeah, no. Don't, don't even worry about it." You muster a shamefully see through smile.
His stare is near invasive as he really looks at you, analyzing you. He opens his mouth to speak, but thinks better of it, instead giving you a tight lipped smile in return.
He nods, then looks to the floor, "Okay," he accepts.
You nibble your lip, crossing your arms as he still stands in front of you.
He notices and moves out of your way, offering a small sorry and a huff of a laugh.
You walk back out into the living room as he follows.
"Wow, this place is a mess,” you breathe a laugh, hoping to keep the subject change.
"Yeah," he agrees, "I'll be having fun tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" you question. "Are you busy now?"
"... I guess not."
"Then grab a garbage bag, Barnes. We've got work to do."
He laughs, "Oh, yeah? You're gonna stay and help me clean up?"
"What are friends for if not clean up?"
He smiles at you as his mind replays his conversation with Sam, Steve and Nat just minutes ago.
He told them the truth about you, and their reaction wasn't what he expected, but definitely what he needed.
"Wait, sorry, you're not dating her?" Nat asked, puzzled.
"Yeah, I'm confused, too," Sam added. "You guys act more like a couple than most couples I know."
"And she's cute, you seem perfect together."
"Well, we're not. Not, not perfect together," he amended, "I mean we're just not together. We're friends. Nothing more."
"Looks like a hell of a lot more, if you ask me..."
"So," Steve finally chimed in, "you spend all that time together, you talk about her constantly, and I saw the way you kissed her at midnight, Buck, but you're telling us it's nothing more than friendship?"
Bucky didn't know what to say. But he knew Steve knew what he was really feeling. He knew exactly what he wasn't saying.
"Do you want it to be more?" he asked. "Because from an outsider's perspective, it seems like you have everything with her but the label."
"I..." Bucky looked around, making sure you hadn't snuck back out of the bathroom yet, "yeah. I do want it to be more. She's, fuckin' perfect," he breathed a laugh as his thoughts, as they always do, strayed back to you. That familiar warmth that fills his chest anytime you're near, or hell, anytime he so much as thinks your name, returned to him. And suddenly his thoughts went back to the softness of your cheek as he held you close earlier. How pliant and perfectly your lips moved against his as you kissed him back. Not once, but twice.
Even still, he thinks back to when he told you why he was so reluctant to go on the dates his friends kept setting up for him. It was a lie when he said it was because he didn't want to date right now... well, partially. He really didn't want to date around. And his mind was focus on other things.
Other things, of course, being you.
When you nodded and told him you got it, that you felt the same way, his heart felt like it deflated by ten.
He was getting ready to finally make his move and ask you out, for real this time. But how could he do that now? He didn't want to be another guy you had to swat away, he couldn't be another one of your rejections. And you gave out plenty, always to his selfish delight if he was being honest. In fact, he can't remember the last time you actually went out on a date. It's been months...
Most of your nights are spent together. Just the two of you. But if you weren't wanting to date anyone right now, and he asked you, he couldn't be sure what you'd say. More importantly, where it'd leave you.
Bucky wasn't stupid, he wasn't blind, and he wasn't deaf. He had every confirmation he could ever want that you liked him the same way he liked you. But he didn't want to chase you away by pressuring a relationship, especially if that's not what you want.
"It's clear she likes you, too, ya know," Steve pointed out what he thought was the obvious.
"I know, I just. I don't wanna push her away by moving too fast. I don't think she's looking to date anybody right now,"
"If you don't ask, you'll never know."
He knew they were right. He needed to just bite the bullet and ask you outright. And he would.
But as he watches you glide around his kitchen, so at home, putting things back in their rightful places and throwing away the random garbage left behind, he thinks maybe not tonight… He doesn’t want to ask a question that might make you leave. But then again…what if it makes you stay?
"Chop chop, supersoldier," you admonish him as he continues to watch, staring dreamily at you. Your back is to him so you can't see his face, but you can feel the weight of his gaze.
Bucky follows your lead, tossing away the empty cups and putting away the leftover food and drinks while you wipe down the counter.
It really wasn't that much of a mess, but you're glad to get it cleaned now, so you won't have to worry about it tomorrow.
Wait...why would you be worried about it tomorrow? This isn't your apartment. God, you really are always over here, aren't you...
You turn to Bucky as he ties off the bag of trash.
You just look at him for a minute. Admiring him from mere feet away while he does the same to you. It's quiet between the two of you, but you can feel the charged silence as it brims with words unsaid.
You know what you want to do right now. But you do what you think you should instead.
"I guess I'll head out, then."
"Oh," he breathes.
"Oh?"
"I just, uh,” he shakes his head, "Never mind."
"No, what is it?" you prod, now entirely curious.
Bucky's bright eyes flash back up to yours and you see him search for what to say instead of saying what was on his mind.
"Your grapes," he remembers, turning to the fridge to get them for you, "you didn't eat them."
"Oh, yeah, well, too late now," you laugh softly.
"What's your resolution?" he asks.
"That's not how the grapes work, Bucky."
"Come on," he goads. "What's your resolution? I wanna know."
"Hmm. Well, good question," you think for a moment, watching him as he rinses off a bunch, then pulls two grapes from their stems. You mindlessly purse your lips as you think. "I want to be less scared," you start quietly, eyes meeting his intent gaze, when he looks back at you, "More confident," you add with a little nod.
"You, more confident?" he asks. "You're one of the most confident people I know. And I know Thor," he adds, getting the laugh he was hoping for from you.
You shrug, "Fake it til you make it." You give a soft, almost sad smile. It physically hurts him to see that hint of sadness in your eyes, and he wants nothing more than to do whatever he can to take it away. He hands you one of the two grapes and you raise a brow as you take it.
"And you?"
Your heart rate kicks up as he steps close, invading your space and standing right before you.
"I…would like to communicate better."
You huff a laugh, tittering, "Yeah, that's a good one."
"Let's both start right now," he says, holding up his grape.
"Okay. Let's," you hold up your own grape, bumping it into Bucky's as if you were toasting before you both pop your own grape into your mouth, stupid smiles on both of your faces.
As you finish, Bucky takes a step closer, surprising you as you look up to him. A bit of deja vu coming over you as you swallow hard. You wait a long breath for him to say something. And then he finally does.
"So. This is me, trying to communicate better: I'm not really sorry that I kissed you. Either time. And if I'm being entirely honest, I'd really like to kiss you again right now."
You're stunned silent and you think you can hear your blood rushing in your ears as you blink up at him.
It takes you a moment before you think you can respond, but Bucky speaks again before you do.
"But I'm not going to do that. Because I want to do this right. In fact, I've been wanting to do this right for months."
"Bucky?" you murmur quietly.
"Doll, will you do me the pleasure of accompanying me to dinner and a movie this Friday?" he asks sincerely.
Your mouth is dry and you have to force yourself to swallow hard again so you can speak. "We always do dinner and movies on Fridays," you point out.
"I mean as a date," he clarifies, holding himself to his resolution.
You stare at him, unsure of what to say. Well, that's not true. You know what you want to say. You know what you want to do. You want to say yes, and you want to lean into him again and indulge him in one more kiss, because you want to kiss him as badly as he wants to kiss you. But that terrified voice in the back of your head is currently telling you to make a run for home as fast as you can. You want to fight the fear, really you do.
Bucky is keeping his resolution already, you're just not sure if you can do the same.
"Uhm," you drone awkwardly.
He laughs that nervous laugh you rarely get to hear...the one you love.
"Is that a yes?" he asks with a hopeful wince.
It takes you a second and then your mouth moves before your brain does as you respond to him.
You stand there, a bit shocked at your own answer, and not entirely sure where to go from here...

Last week
Your tired, fuzzy slipper clad feet drag along the floor as you trudge toward the door across the hall. You’re hoping someone is home. Someone who has sugar. Anyone.
You let out a quick exhale and lift your chin before rapping your knuckles against the wood. A frown starts to mar your forehead when you hear a sleepy mumble come from inside the apartment.
Shit, fuck, shit you woke him up. It’s a guy. Of course it is…because you don’t look like you just rolled off your mattress that still has no bedframe and tripped over twenty-five unopened boxes…etc, etc.
The door swings open revealing said guy…a hot-as-fuck guy. Naked, except for his unbuttoned jeans.
Oh hi neighbor.
Before you can stop it, your gaze instantly drops to the dark trail of hair below his bellybutton, framed by a set of abs that you could dry your laundry on.
You reel yourself in and lift your eyes to his which does nothing to help your declining focus. His hair is perfectly mussed from sleep, his chiseled jaw shadowed with dark stubble and his incredible blue eyes lined by dark lashes.
His hands are planted on either side of the door frame and with every passing second you’re mesmerized by flexing muscles in his chest and arms.
He drags a lazy hand through his unkept hair and smiles. Knowingly. Smugly.
“Can I help you doll?”
“Um…hi. I’m sorry if I woke you…it’s just…I moved in yesterday and haven’t gone shopping yet and I have no sugar. I need my coffee.”
“So you’re my new neighbor,” he croons. “Lucky me.”
You audibly swallow and hold up your coffee cup pleadingly.
“I’ll take care of ya doll.”
With a wink he holds up one long finger.
“Come on in and make yourself comfortable. I’ll be right back with that sugar.”
He spins on his heel and walks toward what you’re guessing is the kitchen and it should be considering your apartments are mirror images of each other.
You step inside and stand by the door to wait. You hear him rummaging around and then hear a crash followed by grumbled curses.
Before you can react the cutest white cat saunters out of the kitchen, looking quite proud with his fluffy tail held high and blue eyes unblinking.
“That’s Alpine,” he yells from the other room. “Don’t let his cuteness fool you. He’s a menace!”
You let your laughter ring out and then kneel down to give Alpine some scratches. The cat instantly warms up to you and presses himself against your leg, purring loudly.
“Ah, of course he likes you.”
You look up at the sound of your neighbors voice and reluctantly give up petting Alpine to take the offering of sugar.
“Thank you….?”
“Bucky,” he finishes for you. “Name’s Bucky.”
“Thanks Bucky,” you say with a smile and then introduce yourself.
You look back down at the cat that is now circling between Bucky’s bare feet. “And Alpine really is cute. I can’t imagine he’s a menace.”
“Just wait until you get to know him,” Bucky says. “Can I get you anything else doll?”
“No. Thank you and again I’m sorry if I woke you.”
“No problem at all. I had a late night at the office and I was just being lazy. If you need anything else just come by. Anytime.”
His lips turn up in a boyish grin and he winks again.
You can feel his eyes on you as you turn and walk out into the hall and toward your apartment. Just as you push your door open you look over your shoulder and catch him staring, his teeth dug deep into his bottom lip.
Tumblr media
The knock at your door startles you from your unpacking trance and from your spot on the floor, surrounded by open boxes and a mess of things, you ask, “who is it?”
“It’s Bucky…and I have food.”
Your smile is impossible to hide and you shout back, “come in!”
Bucky appears in the doorway with a pizza box.
“Hiya doll face,” he chimes. “I figured you’d need some fuel.”
You drag yourself out of the mess on the floor and hop up onto the edge of the counter.
“Thanks Bucky. I really appreciate it, but you’re spoiling me. What is it now…the third time this week you’re feeding me?”
He hands you a slice and then stands there, watching while you take a bite.
“And why not? You need to eat and I love to eat, might as well do it together!”
You laugh through your bite. “Then what motivated you to help with my furniture?”
He shrugs and grabs a slice of pizza, shoving half into his mouth before he answers.
“Perfect opportunity to show off my muscles.”
He waggles his brows suggestively and flexes a bicep.
“Double win for me,” you admit, licking your lips. “How will I ever repay you.”
He remains quiet for several moments while he studies you then asks, “how about a real dinner?”
“Pizza is the realest dinner there is!” you state with a mouthful.
“Let me take you out. For something other than pizza.”
“Are you asking me on a date?”
“Would you say yes if I were?”
Your legs swing back and forth at the knee as you finish your bite and then place your slice of pizza down. You reach over the box and grab the marker you left out on the counter, placing it between your lips.
Watching him from under your lashes, you take his arm and roll up the sleeve of his Henley and when your fingertips make contact with the sensitive skin on his underside of his forearm you can feel his muscles tighten.
Your mouth curves around the marker at his reaction and you pluck it from between your lips and start writing on his skin.
“Now you’ve got my number. Text me and we’ll pick a date for our date.”
“Thank you,” he says, leaning in close and dropping his eyes to your mouth.
Your lips part with your small gasp of air and when his thumb lifts to brush along the corner of your mouth you let out a rush of air.
“Sauce,” he states before he licks his finger clean, his gaze locked on yours.
You nod as he steps back and pulls out his phone to dial your number on his arm. Your phone rings and he says, “and now you’ve got mine.”
Tumblr media
You spend the rest of your weekend unpacking and doing errands, running into Bucky only once in a frantic rush of laundry. He offers to help but you know if you let him you’ll become distracted and never get anything done. The two of you text back and forth, deciding on Saturday for your official date. No pizza involved.
The next morning you get another text from him.
“Morning doll face. Don’t forget an umbrella. Gonna rain later today.”
“Are you the weather man now?” you message back, smiling at your phone.
“Nah. Just a friendly neighbor.”
“Did you tell everyone in the building about the rain and remind them to bring an umbrella.”
“Just you…”
“Thanks, but I’m already half way to work sans umbrella.”
“Damn it. I knew I should have texted earlier. Now if you get caught in the rain it’ll be all my fault.”
“Hardly! I should have checked the weather. Can’t rely on you for everything can I?”
He sends a wink face.
“Is it Saturday yet?”
“Still only Monday morning. What’s Saturday?”
“Don’t tease me doll. I’ve been looking forward to this date since you showed up at my door lookin’ for sugar.”
“Have a good day Bucky.”
“You too doll…stay dry.”
You’re only two blocks from your apartment building when the sky opens up and the rain comes down in buckets. By the time you reach the doors you’re soaked through and cursing at yourself for forgetting an umbrella.
The door attendant lets you in with a sympathetic smile and as you’re sloshing past him and toward the elevator you hear Bucky’s voice.
“Oh doll. Look at you.”
He tugs his mail from the box and slams it shut, rushing toward you and taking your arm.
“Soaked,” you say sadly.
“I can see that,” he muses with a twitch of his perfect lips. “Come on, let’s get you upstairs and dry.”
The elevator doors open and you step inside with a shiver. He immediately starts to pull your jacket from your shoulders.
“What are you doing?” you ask without stopping him.
“You have to get out of this jacket. I’m sure your shirt is….”
He stops speaking when his eyes catch sight of your white button down, soaked through so that you can see the lace of your bra outlined against the fabric.
“Fuck,” he mutters, dragging his eyes back to your face. “Here.”
He shrugs off his damp jacket and then takes off his suit jacket and drapes it over your shoulders.
“But it’ll get all wet,” you protest.
“Don’t care. You can’t walk out of the elevator like that.”
His jaw is set in a hard line as his fingers work over the scruff that lines it. The elevator dings at your floor and he takes your hand, leading you out and checking the hallway.
“Why are you looking around like that?” you ask.
He turns back to you and tugs you closer. “I don’t wanna anyone seeing you.”
“Why not?”
“Because then I’ll have to kill them,” he states.
“Someone is acting a little jealous,” you giggle.
“Yeah well…we haven’t even had our first date yet. Can’t have someone looking at what’s about to be mine.”
“Yours,” you breathe out, not even realizing you’re now standing in front of your apartment door.
With shaky fingers you start to remove his suit jacket but before you can he stops you with a hand on your wrist.
“Don’t doll. Just keep it for now.”
“But we’re at the door. I’ll be fine.”
“Yeah, but if you take that off then I have to see you in your wet shirt again. And I’m not sure I’ll be able to control myself if I do.”
“Control yourself how?” you ask in a breathy whisper.
He responds with a pained groan before his mouth meets yours and he has you pressed against the door.
Even though your shirt is soaked through and your skin is cold you can feel the warmth of his body seep into yours. You wrap your arms around his neck to steady yourself and he lifts one hand to cup the back of your neck, tilting your head and deepening the kiss.
Your scrape your nails along his broad shoulders and he moans out your name.
“Fuck, I love having your hands on me.”
The desperation in his voice has you arching into him and you drop your head against the door, giving him access to trail his lips down your neck. Your fingers slide into his hair and tug at the soft strands. He growls into your skin and scrapes his teeth over your pulse point making you gasp his name.
“Oh I like that,” you whisper.
He does it again.
“You’re going to like everything I do to you doll face.”
His lips graze yours and he swallows your whimper, crowding you closer to the door before muttering out a curse and letting you both take a breath.
“Is it Saturday yet?” he asks, still breathless.
“Still Monday,” you answer, feeling just the same.
“Right,” he says, planting his hands on the door above your head and dropping his head forward.
A door down the hall opens and he pauses, straightening his body to hide your own. You both smile at the older lady who walks by with a questioning look.
When Bucky’s eyes return to you they drop to where he spread his jacket open to put his hands on you, your shirt sticking to your wet skin even more now.
He stares before reluctantly dragging his eyes up and taking the sides of the material and pulling them tightly around you.
You tremble.
“Still cold?” he asks, his eyes soft with worry.
“Hardly,” you answer and lean up to kiss the corner of his mouth.
“See you later Bucky.”
“I’m counting on it doll.”
Tumblr media
You spend the rest of the week juggling your time between work, texting Bucky and sleeping. You’ve only seen him once since Monday evening and that was for five minutes when he caught you coming home again but this time he had his friend Steve with him and there was no chance for any kissing.
Saturday morning rolls around and you wake up to a text from him.
“It is finally Saturday or am I dreaming?”
“It’s really Saturday!”
“Thank fuck! Can we start our date now?”
“No…I have to do girly things and prepare.”
“What kinds of things….?”
“I’ll see you tonight Buck.”
You can almost hear his groan through the phone.
“I’ll be at your door at 7 sharp.”
Bucky knocks on your apartment door at exactly the same time your phone clock hits 7:00pm. You grin at your best friend Nat before she gets up and walks toward the door.
“Oh girl. He’s hot!” a muffled voice says from the other side.
It isn’t yours so Bucky assumes it’s your friend.
“He’s at least a nine.”
Bucky scoffs, muttering, “a nine?” quietly to himself.
“Hey, I can hear you in there. Are you gonna open the door?” he asks the unknown voice.
The door swings open to reveal a red head who looks him over with two scrutinizing green eyes.
“Hi,” he smiles, holding out his hand. “I’m Bu…”
“Bucky,” she finishes. “I know who you are…question is…do you know who I am?”
“You must be Natasha,” Bucky answers with a smug smile.
“That’s right and I’m a black belt in jiu jitsu so you do anything I don’t like and I will end you.”
Bucky’s eyes light up and he watches Nat as she moves toward the kitchen.
“You almost ready doll face,” he yells, not taking his eyes off Nat in case she goes for a knife.
“I’m right here,” you say.
Bucky turns to find you standing right in front of him. His mouth drops open as his eyes sweep you up and down.
“This is where you say she looks amazing,” Nat admonishes from the kitchen, dangerously close to the knife rack.
However, Bucky’s eyes never leave you and when he steps into your space and wraps you in his arms, pulling you into his chest, you let out a squeal of delight.
“You look fucking gorgeous,” he says, loud enough for Nat to hear, then whispers, only for your ears, “I want to rip this dress off you.”
Your lips spread into a sly smile. “We made the right choice Nat.”
“Of course we did,” she chimes. “Now go. I’ll lock up.”
“I’m so ready,” he says, ushering you toward the door, but not before turning to Nat, still in the kitchen eyeing him warily, and asking, “I’m good with a nine, but just out of curiosity, what did I lose a point for?”
“You’re really gonna make me say it in front of you?” Nat asks.
“I wanna hear it too Nat,” you say, raising an expectant and skeptical brow.
“You didn’t shave.”
He runs the free hand, the one not wrapped around your waist, over his jaw.
“I didn’t get any complaints earlier this week,” Bucky says, eyes now sparkling with mischief.
“He’s right Nat,” you add. “I like it.”
Nat rolls her eyes and shoos you away.
Once you’re safely in the elevator and away from prying eyes Bucky invades your space, plastering you against the cool metal wall and caging you there with his large body.
“It almost killed me to not be kissing you for the past five minutes,” he says against your lips.
When you press into him and slide your body along his it sucks the breath right out of his lungs and fills them with something else. Need.
The kiss pulls a throaty groan from him and his belt buckle digs into your skin, the muscles hidden beneath his clothes, pressing and flexing over the thin material of your dress.
The elevator door dings and begins to slide open, causing you to give his chest a gentle shove.
“You’re trying to kill me, aren’t you?” he asks as he lifts a finger and traces your swollen lips.
“That would suck,” you reply. “I kind of like having you as a neighbor.”
After a delicious dinner at a roof top restaurant down town, Bucky walks you along the street, hand in hand, as you listen and laugh to his childhood stories about growing up in Brooklyn.
“Where are we going now?” you ask.
“It’s a surprise,” he says as he twirls you into his side and presses his fingers under your chin to steal a kiss.
As you get closer to your destination the bright lights sparkle and the smell of the ocean is carried on the warm breeze.
“Which bridge is that?” you ask with awe.
“The Brooklyn Bridge,” he tells you and grabs your hand to pull you along. “Come on. I have something to show you.”
When you reach the top of the look out he slides an arm around your waist and pulls your back to his chest.
“This is so beautiful Bucky,” you whisper.
He kisses your cheek and takes your chin between his fingers, turning your face up to his. “I always thought it was the most beautiful thing in the city…but not anymore.”
You’re thankful for his strong arms holding you up and after a sweet kiss you enjoy the view in comfortable silence for a few more minutes but his hands start to wander, soft and sure, and with each passing touch your body aches for more.
His warm breath fans across your neck and his arm moves lower until his hand grasps your hip and he pulls you back to feel the hardness between his legs.
You suck in a breath and fight the urge to move against him.
With a curse he pulls away and grabs your hand, dragging you toward the park under the bridge. The only lights come from the lit-up buildings across the street and when he finds a hidden spot he backs you against the cold stone but you’re too hot to care.
“Bucky,” you whisper as your hands roam over his broad chest.
His mouth brushes yours before he gently nips at your bottom lip.
“I can’t even keep my fucking hands off you long enough to bring you home,” he murmurs.
His fingers find the hem of your dress and he slides them under, slowly teasing the fabric higher until his hand brushes over the wetness on your panties.
“Please, Bucky,” you pant.
“Fuck, I love hearing you say my name like that,” he growls. “I need to get you home so I can hear you scream it for me.”

If you like this fic, please let me know :)
When the Winter Soldier himself, or the man formerly known as him, moved to the apartment across from yours, you were the only person in the whole building who didn’t ignore his presence. Of course, you and Bucky Barnes weren't best friends. During the first month of his moving in you would merely exchange polite greetings when you crossed paths in the hallway, but at least you didn’t immediately flinch and/or look away as soon as you saw him. Sometimes he even attempted some compliments, as he was still trying to rediscover the charming soldier he once was, but that was it.
At least until the day you came home to discover your supersoldier neighbor sitting in front of his door, drenched in blood and barely clinging to life.
As you approached your apartment door, your heart skipped a beat at the sight that unfolded before you. There, in front of his own door, sat Bucky, his figure hunched over, covered in a chilling crimson. Panic surged through your veins as you rushed to his side, dropping to your knees beside him.
"Hello? Hey, Bucky!" You snapped your fingers in front of his face, desperate to rouse him from his dazed state. But all you received was a feeble murmur in response. Panic washed over you. "Oh shit, you're... Oh, gosh. Fuck."
Frantically, you rummaged through your bag, searching for your phone to call an ambulance. Your trembling fingers made the task of finding it more difficult, but after a moment of frantic searching, you finally located the device. Your hands shook as you dialed the emergency number, your voice trembling with urgency.
"I'm calling an ambulance right now," you reassured Bucky, your voice laced with concern. "We'll get you to the hospital, and everything will be alright. Just hold on."
But you were about to hit the call button, you felt a firm grip on your wrist, cold vibranium fingers encircling you. Startled, you looked at Bucky, confusion etched on your face.
"No hospital," he mumbled, his voice barely audible.
"Barnes, sir? Sergeant-" Unsure of what to call him in this moment, you cleared your throat, trying to find the right words. "You're... you're seriously injured. You need medical help. It's okay, they can-"
"I'm not dying," he interrupted, mustering a firmer tone. "No hospital."
You hesitated, torn between your instinct to seek professional medical assistance and Bucky's adamant refusal. With concern etched on your face, you watched as he took the phone from your hand and gently placed it back into your bag.
"So what do we do then?" you asked, a mix of worry and confusion in your voice. "Have you seen yourself? You're covered in blood-"
"The serum will help," he managed to say, his voice strained. "Just... just let me rest."
You vaguely remembered reading about the super soldier serum and how it enhances healing abilities. While unsure of the extent to which it applied in this situation, you decided to trust him, realizing that he probably knows more of his own condition than you do.
"Alright then," you relented, your voice still filled with concern. "But let's at least get you inside. We'll find a way to make you comfortable. Can you try to get up? I'll help you."
With a mix of determination and concern, you carefully offered Bucky your hand, guiding the barely alive man to your couch.
The next day, Bucky woke up feeling a lot better, and you were glad. After you made him coffee, Bucky addressed the blood-stained couch situation and as much as you assured him you could clean it, he didn’t leave your apartment until you agreed to let him take you to a store so he could buy you a new one. “It’s the least I can do, doll,” he said, and you chuckled at the unusual pet name. With the new couch in the living room, you pestered Bucky until he agreed to inaugurate the furniture with you. So on a Wednesday night, he brought some snacks and you two watched The Hobbit, then proceeded to stay up until early-hours talking because Bucky, as the huge nerd he is, had to point out every single difference he recalled from the book - which he proudly announced he’d read in 1937, when it first came out. You didn’t complain, though, it was kinda nice to see this side of the man you only knew through the news and people’s opinions.
Next you knew, you two were inseparable. You quickly learned that Bucky needs a routine, so Wednesday’s nights became movie nights, and Sunday afternoons became dedicated to reading sessions together, then Tuesday mornings were designated as "breakfast with Bucky" time. Soon, there wasn't a single day when Bucky didn't show up in your living room. Your apartment became his second home. You became his second home - though you didn’t know that.
But of course, Bucky’s life wasn’t simple like that, and as much as he cherished your friendship, there are some things that he can’t control. Oftentimes, Bucky would come home in the same state he was on that first day, and although the sight started to become strangely familiar, it never ceased to break your heart. That’s why every time he showed up battered and bruised, you’d take him in and patch him up. You both know you don’t have to, and Bucky tried to convince you countless times that he just needed to rest, that the serum would do all the work, but you didn’t listen. You clean his wounds and stitch him up because that’s the only way you found to tell him that you care, and Bucky willingly lets you do it because he knows it eases the concern you feel about his dangerous lifestyle. So you’re the one Bucky seeks right after week-long missions or brutal battles, if not to help patch him up then just to let you know that he’s okay.
Tonight is one of those nights. When he knocked on your door at 3 am, the disheartening sight of Bucky, once again drenched in blood, almost made you collapse to your knees and plead for him to stay out of fights, to do something else, to stay in your living room and never leave again. But war is all Bucky knows, and as much as you recognize the unfortunate reality of the situation, you don't want to take away one of the few things that gives him a sense of familiarity in this modern world, so you swallowed the overwhelming urge, like you do every time, and helped him get to your bathroom.
The chamomilla scented steam invades your nostrils as you use the soap to gently wash all the blood away. You feel Bucky’s muscles slowly relaxing under the warm cascade of water, and he lets some relieved sounds escape through his lips. If someone had told you months ago that you would eventually find yourself in this very situation, you would have scoffed in disbelief, yet here you are now. You’re not really sure what you did to earn Bucky's trust to such an extent that he feels comfortable being so vulnerable with you, and the thought brings a dangerous warmth to your chest.
These showers are always innocent. You help Bucky clean the blood, leaving the intimate parts for him to clean, and then you take care of his wounds. It’s tender and respectful. But Bucky is not exactly the ugliest man you’ve seen and, well, you’re only human. Sometimes, it gets hard to ignore those not-so-innocent thoughts your brain insists on having. It makes you feel disgusted with yourself - the man is dripping blood on your bathroom floor and there you are, thinking all those nasty things, wanting to touch him in a way you’re not even sure he wants to be touched by you.
Little do you know, Bucky struggles just as much as you do in managing his own thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, he has to stop you from rubbing your hands too much around his torso, because he’s scared he’s not gonna be able to control himself if you keep going. It’s torture, but at the same time he can’t bring himself to stop coming here every time he gets injured. He could stop. He could stay away for a few more days after missions, just enough time for the serum to do its magic and he doesn’t have to go through this, but he can’t. Because everytime he gets injured, he finds himself looking forward to your touch. He barely cares about the pain anymore, because he knows he’ll get to feel your silky skin against his, even if it’s just for brief moments. So usually, he comes back and lets you do your thing while he makes a hell of an effort not to stare at your peaked nipples through your wet shirt - Bucky doesn’t know if he should be upset or glad that you don’t take your clothes off, because seeing you naked would probable make the task impossible, but it’s not like he doesn’t want to - and holds himself back from returning each and every touch you give him, in a very specific, very not-innocent way.
Usually. But today is different.
Today, Bucky was reminded that his wounds go way beyond the ones on his skin. Today the soldier needs another kind of care, one that’s a little bit more effective for his pain than bandages and stitches. And, honestly, he’s a bit tired of holding himself back. That’s why, without warning, he wraps his arms around your waist, bringing you a little bit closer so he can rest his head on the top of your shoulder. You don’t move for some time, which makes him doubt his action, but soon he hears your gentle voice.
“We’re almost finished, and then you can rest.” You say, placing your hands and his back to hug him, but not applying pressure on the bruises.
“I need you.” He says, his mouth on your neck sending vibrations through the area and making a shudder travel down your body. “Need you to take care of me.”
“I am taking care of you, Buck.” You manage to say, fighting the urge to glue your body on his. He’s in pain, you have to remind yourself.
But he tilts his head back, cupping your face with his flesh hand so you don’t take your eyes off of him. “Not like this,” he whispers.
For a moment, you simply stay there, suspended in time, lost in the intensity of the moment. His proximity sends a shiver down your spine as you hear Bucky's heartbeat racing, and you're acutely aware of the weight of his gaze on your face. You can see the pain etched in his features, but there's something else there too, something that makes your heart skip a beat. It's a raw, unfiltered emotion that you can't quite put into words, but it's there, simmering just beneath the surface.
The more you look into his eyes, the more you understand. The person in front of you is a broken man, momentarily defeated by the demons that come to haunt him ever so often, and his eyes are begging you to make those demons go away. He’s asking you to give him the only thing that could possibly make him forget this pain that is so much worse than the bloody cuts, to fill his senses with the only sensation stronger than the fear that's been luring behind his eyes ever since he stepped foot in your apartment tonight.
You gently place a hand on his cheek. His body tenses at your touch, and for a moment, you think he might pull away. But then he relaxes, leaning into your hand as if you’re the only thing that can offer him solace right now.
"I don't want to make it worse," you whisper softly, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
"You can't," he whispers back. "Many things... and many people may hurt me, but not you. Never you."
Bucky's words hit you like a ton of bricks, the weight of his complete - almost blind - trust is overwhelming. He had been through so much, faced so many torture and pain, yet here he is, willing to give you all that’s left of his trust.
“Please,” is the only thing he whispers, but it’s enough. Slowly, you raise another hand to his face and bring your lips to his. The kiss is tender, carrying an air of uncertainty, as if exploring uncharted territory. It holds the unmistakable essence of something new and unfamiliar, yet it overflows with raw and intense emotion.
“We still have to finish cleaning you up.” You say, breaking the kiss, and Bucky attaches his mouth to your neck, giving you permission to continue doing your thing.
Bucky gives you small kisses as you continue to cleanse his torso with soap, trying to avoid applying pressure on his still open bruises. You focus on each area with care, gently wiping away any dirt or blood while checking to ensure that he is comfortable throughout the process. As you rub the soap all over his body, Bucky starts caressing your hips, slowly going up and exploring your body like he always wanted to do. He can feel your stomach trembling with his touches and kisses, and it almost makes him go feral.
“Do you like this shirt?” He whispers in your ear.
“Why-” but before you can even think about your question, impatient as always, Bucky tears your old shirt in half, ending the outrageous fabric that was separating him from his greatest desire. You don’t care, though, because Bucky’s clear desperation only turns you on more.
“I’ll buy you another one.” He mumbles, but you’re not sure he’s paying attention to his words.
Continuing your work, you pay special attention to the intricate details of his vibranium arm, taking your time to meticulously clean between the plates from his fingers all the way up to his shoulder - careful not to miss a single spot like you’ve seen him doing multiple times - while Bucky distributes lingered kisses along your jaw down to your neck, until your right nipple is inside his mouth, and you have to hold back a gasp of surprise - but, of course, Bucky’s not having that.
“Wanna hear your noises.” He whispers and lightly passes his teeth through your nipple, getting you to moan out loud this time.
Satisfied, Bucky licks his way back up until your mouth, biting your bottom lip almost too hard and then kissing you passionately soon after. His tongue invades your mouth as he swallows every single one of your breaths. Reluctantly, you break the kiss. You finish the vibranium and go back to the flesh, working on the scarred skin on his shoulder, gently rubbing the soap, then brushing your fingers, and then your lips. The blood is almost entirely gone, leaving behind only the ugly outline of his wounds, which you start kissing lightly, earning a guttural moan out of Bucky’s throat.
Slowly, you slide your soaped hand through his body until you reach his rock hard length, carefully circling your fingers around him. One pump is enough to make Bucky moan loudly.
“Fuck, doll-” but you shush him with a kiss, invading his mouth with your tongue as you pump his dick. Bucky grips your hips like his life depends on it to hold himself back from bending you over and fucking you senseless. No, he wants to enjoy the moment. He wants to learn what you like and let you take care of him how you want.
You continue kissing his cheeks, then his neck until you reach skin around his bruises and then lick the water drops down his torso until you’re on your knees in front of him, staring at his huge length in all its glory while he leans his back against the wall to remain standing.
“Well, I’m glad at least one part of your body was left untouched.” You joke, looking up at him with a playful smile.
Bucky can’t help but chuckle at that, and you notice it’s his first genuine laugh since he arrived home. Good. “Gotta protect what’s yours.”
“Mine?” You ask, just wanting to hear him say that again.
“All yours.” He smirks, completely aware of your intentions.
Before the conversation can go any further, you slide the tip of your tongue through a prominent vein along his cock, and Bucky’s words are lost in his breath. You circle your lips around his pink tip, sucking a little, and the noises he makes are like music to your years.  You proceed to slowly slide your entire tongue through his length one, two, three times, taking your sweet time while Bucky drops his head back and rolls his eyes. He raises his flesh hand to the back of your head and despite the context, his movements on your hair are gentle, like he’s somehow trying to thank you for everything, though he’s too busy moaning to say the words. You see that as an encouragement and take him deep inside your mouth, making up and down movements with your head and sucking as hard as you can while you massage his balls with your fingers. Involuntarily, he starts jerking his hips up into your throat.
“Babe, fuck-” he tries, but gets lost in the feeling when you fasten your movements.
It’s too much. The warmth, the feeling, the softness. Everything is too much, and Bucky is coming inside your mouth before he even realizes it.
“Oh, fuck- Shit, I’m sorry-” Bucky starts apologizing, but he immediately stops, watching in awe as you take a drop of cum that slipped off your mouth with your thumb and sucks it back into your mouth, swallowing everything he gave you.
Bucky helps you get up and kisses you, tasting himself on your tongue. You’re a little surprised when he presses two vibranium fingers in your clit, starting tiny circles. Despite the electric jolt that it sends through your spine, you hold his wrist.
“Bucky, you don’t have to,” you whisper.
“You don’t like it?” He asks against your lips.
“No, I do. It’s just-”
“Then let me make you feel good.”
You moan loudly when he inserts his two fingers inside your aching cunt, the sensation better than anything you could have ever imagined.
“So wet, baby. Is it all for me? Did you like sucking my dick that much?”
You try to say “yes”, but it sounds more like a whimper since Bucky had just found your special spot. Realizing it, he rubs his fingertips over and over again against the spongy area, and your legs start to shake. But as you’re about to warn him that you’re close, he stops.
“Not yet,” he whispers before you can complain, “wanna taste you.”
And that’s how you end up in your bed, lying naked in soaked sheets with Bucky’s face between your thighs, almost screaming as he moves his vibranium fingers in and out while sucking and licking your bundle of nerves. Soon, you feel that familiar heat in your lower belly.
“Bucky, I’m gonna-” you’re interrupted by a moan escaping through your throat.
He only hums in response, sending vibrations through your whole body and bringing you closer and closer to the edge.
Your eyes roll back as the pleasure gets to its peak, and you feel like you’re floating while Bucky happily cleans you up, the sensation of his warm tongue touching every single part of your pussy, inside and out, riding you through your orgasm.
When you come back down from your high, Bucky’s hovering over you, a mixture of lust and gratitude taking his features. He gives you a long chaste kiss.
“Told you, you couldn’t hurt me.”
You smile at his words. “Will you let me stitch you up now?”
“What if we just…” he covers you both with your blanket and hugs you tight, “forget about the stitches?”
“Buck…”
“You know I don’t need ‘em, doll.”
“But-”
He interrupts you with a kiss. Then another. Then one more. “Just today.”
You sigh, defeated, but snuggle up inside his arms.
Bucky gives you a long kiss on the forehead, whispering a very low “thank you” before you both fall asleep.

The Karen’s of the World by @espinosaurusrexex

Tis the damn season by @starrysebastians
On the first post-blip Thanksgiving, you find yourself having to reunite with your parents and your heart is not in it — Sam persuades you to take Bucky with you, and this might be an opportunity for you two to get to know each other.

You ask Bucky to be your stand-in boyfriend for your family’s Christmas party.
Breaking The Rules by @redgillan
You hate James Barnes with a burning passion and the feeling is entirely mutual. Just when you think things can’t get any worse, you are tricked into attending his sister’s wedding as his girlfriend. Stuck with a bunch of strangers, you come up with a set of rules that are not going to last long.
Best Boyfriend You’ve Ever Had by @language-rxgers
When you find out your sister is getting married and expects you to bring a date to her wedding in two months, you panic, having not gone on so much as a coffee date with a guy in far too long. After all, being an Avenger doesn’t leave too much time for a life outside of work. So, when your best friend, none other than the James Buchanan Barnes himself, offers to pretend to be your boyfriend and plus one, how can you refuse? It seems like something that would come out of a movie. However, real life is never like the movies, and stories like this never go as planned.

When Steve can’t go with you to your cousin’s wedding, he sends Bucky in his place. What happens when more than one person assume you’re dating?

Wedding Season is brutal as it is but throw in two friends that decide to be each other’s plus ones and a mixed bag of feelings, what's the worst that could happen?
Heart to a Gunfight by @lailannajacobs
You didn’t want to help Bucky Barnes make it through the party by pretending to be his fake girlfriend, after all, you had just met him. You also didn’t plan on the charade lasting as long as it did.
am i more than you bargained for? by @morsmordre-writes

You don’t know how you manage not to choke when you hear Sam.
“You need to start dating, man!”
Natasha snorts, amused all of a sudden, leaning into you.
“Watch him get red.”
But you don’t answer her, a little nervous about how this will go. What if he agrees? Even worse, what if he’s already dating someone?
“You’re getting old.”
“I think you mean older,” Bucky tries to say, but Sam doesn’t seem to even pay attention.
“You are practically forty, man.”
Bucky immediately rolls his eyes. “I have a few years left until forty, Wilson. And even if I was forty, is that old now?”
You notice everyone, including Sam’s sister, listening to their conversation, and you feel like an outsider. You know all of them, you even came to their occasional gatherings, but you aren’t close to anyone but Bucky.
“No, but you’re not getting any younger.”
“You sound like a grandpa.” You watch Bucky a sip from his glass of water. “Plus, I have my girl.”
He has a girl?
Natasha turns her face to you and you make a great effort not to look back. She would see right through you.
“Oh come onnn, your cat doesn’t count!”
“Cat?” Natasha asks. “I thought he meant,” she points at you, finishing her sentence, and you gasp. You can barely hear what she’s telling you. “I thought you were his girl.”
You blush, you know you do based on how hot your cheeks feel, and you notice how everyone but Bucky stares at you. But before you can say anything, Sam snorts amused.
“Barnes could neverrr. Too young and sweet for his ass.”
“God, why are you so noisy? My love life is none of your business!” Bucky snaps and turns from Sam to Natasha as he speaks. “And of course she is not my girl. Does it seem to you she is my girl?” The sharp cold tone makes you freeze for a couple of seconds, and so do the others, completely shocked. It almost sounded as if he… maybe he is disgusted by the idea of you being his girlfriend. Ashamed of this moment and your own feelings, you look away.
“Alright, alright. Calm your tits down!”
You don’t hear the rest of the conversation, you block everything out as you stare at your hands. You’re on the verge of crying and you have to bite your cheek really hard not to. It’s embarrassing. But the fact that he actually rejected you without rejecting you makes everything harder to handle.
For a little while, you even pretend everything’s alright as you drink some water, but in reality, you can barely breathe. “I’m gonna go to the bathroom, excuse me.”
You leave as quickly as you can before having a breakdown right there.
You take a few minutes, trying to calm down and control your emotions as you wash your face. Your eyes are slightly red, but not red enough for people to notice. When you close the door, you jump seeing Bucky in the hallway. “Hey. Are you okay?”
He analyzes you for a few seconds, trying to make sure you’re fine. He knows you hate this type of interaction and attention, but he didn’t realize how bad it is. He should have punched Sam instead of talking.
“Hey. Uhm, do you mind if I leave? I don’t feel very well.”
He wants to say something, you can see by the way he opens his mouth and hesitates, and he decides against it, nodding.
“Sorry for going so suddenly.”
He shakes his head.
“Don’t apologize for this, let me grab our bags.”
“No, no. You should stay, they’re your friends after all. They missed you. No one would even notice I am gone.” It’s the truth, and the last thing that you want is to make him feel obligated to drop you off. You don’t want to be his burden.
“I would.” He immediately replies and sighs. “They would too, they like you even thought… I am sorry for ear-”
“It’s okay, Bucky.” You give him the fakest smile after interrupting him. It really is okay. He should have fun and not worry about you. They’re his group after all. “You should stay, you don’t have to drive me home, I promise I am a big girl, I can handle it.”
Bucky frowns. Once because you think he feels it’s an obligation and once for name choice. “What about James?”
“I… Everyone calls you Bucky so it just slipped.”
“I want to come with you, doll. Don’t worry about this, okay? And I really miss our babies.”
You try to hold back a wave of tears as you turn around. You can’t continue to fight him on this. “Gonna get my bag then.”
Bucky follows immediately and gives everyone a clear fuck you look. “It’s getting late, we’re gonna go now, thanks for the game.” He takes his phone from the table before leaning in a little more so he can curse Sam in his ear. “Fuck you!”
“Fuck you back, grandpa, “ Sam whispers as you awkwardly say goodbye and wave toward everyone. They are not to blame at all for your sensitivity.
Bucky fights the instinct to place his hand on your back as you walk in front of him, wanting to show you some comfort and at the same time be close to you. He loves to touch you whenever he can.
“Take care of her, Barnes,” Natasha says before you close the entrance door.
*
You keep your eyes closed a lot, just listening to his humming and the radio, for the whole ride.
He opens the passenger door and helps you out of the car as soon as you arrive, but there is clear tension between you. He can sense it right away. When you reach your floor, you hesitate.
You would usually spend a little more time together, especially since it’s still early, but you have no energy to pretend you’re fine and totally not about to cry because your feelings are not mutual. “I think I’ll take a shower and go to bed… so rain check?”
Bucky tries not to show he’s disappointed and scared when he looks up and nods. “Of course, I totally understand, and I am sorry again. The last thing I want is to make you uncomfortable. They were dicks.” He sighs, running a hand through his already messy hair. “Give Miss Bubbles some snuggles for me, please. And thank you for coming tonight!”
And he’s gone before you can reply, making you start crying as soon as you close your door.
Miss Bubbles comes to you, smelling your shoes and your pants. “Hey, baby.”
“Meow.”
“Just us tonight.”
Her wet nose immediately makes you smile when she presses it into your hand. “Missed you, too.”
Bucky can’t relax despite Alpine’s tries to make him give her attention. He took a shower, changed, but he can’t focus on anything. Evenings feel lonely without you and Miss Bubbles, as cliche as it seems. He hates how uncomfortable his friends made you feel today. It’s the last thing he wanted, yet it still happened. Sam is a good guy, but he should have known better.
Sighing, Bucky finishes making the hot chocolate and looks down at Alpine. “Gonna visit our friends tonight. Not sure if they’ll forgive us, but it’s worth a try.”
You know it’s him when he knocks on the door, but you have no time to actually make yourself look presentable. It’s clear you’ve been crying.
You open the door with a sigh. “Did anything happen?”
“Made some chocolate, may I come in?”
Alpine doesn’t wait for your answer as she finds her way inside the apartment.
“I’m tired, Bucky.”
He blinks a couple of times, noticing your red cheeks and eyes. “Bucky again?”
You open the door defeated. “You can come in, James.”
Grateful, he gives you a smile as you close the door.
“This is for you.” He hands you a red cup before he starts off his slippers. “But it’s really hot.”
“Thanks. It was not needed, I just felt a little tired.”
You’re not a bad liar at all, truth be told. You even sounded honest. But you know he didn’t buy it anyway.
“I am sorry for today.”
“You said that three times now.” You complain before sitting down on the couch, waiting for him to join you like he usually does.
“Well, I really am. I know you hate this…”
“Hate what, James?” You take a sip and you groan. He makes the best hot chocolate ever!
“The way everyone was talking… It was not polite or nice. They tried to tease me through you, and I am sorry on their behalf.”
“Tease you through me about what? I am very obviously not your girl, right?”
His ears get red instantly, and Alpine comes to sit on his lap. “I am sorry, Natasha is…” Your humorless laugh interrupts him. “Did you come here to reject me again, Bucky? Two times were enough, trust me!”
“Reject you?’ He places his cup on the table. “What?”
“James, seriously, stop! I got the message, you don’t want more, it’s fine. Just stop apologizing for this.”
“I did not reject you!”
“And of course she is not my girl.” You quote him, placing your cup down, too. “Of course! Because it’d be such a terrible thing. What did Sam say? Oh yes, too innocent and sweet aka too naive, young and dumb for you!”
“God, doll, please, slow down! And this is not… this is not what I think. It’s the opposite, but they had no right to put you in a place like that. If you were my girl, it would be obvious.” He’s talking quickly, trying to explain as well as he can.
“Get out, but Alpine stays!” You don’t know where this comes from, but you won’t take it back.
“What?”
“I said get out, I don’t want liars in my apartment.” Alpine jumps from his lap to yours as if he understood what you said and agrees. You’d rather be rejected than let him pity-talk to you.
“God, baby, I swear I-” He stands up. “It’s a misunderstanding. I didn’t say that cause I didn’t want you… I do, I think it’s obvious, but like… I didn’t want them to corner you any-”
“It’s obvious?” You snort, totally unamused. “Yeah, that you rejected me.”
“I did not!”
“You did.”
Bucky pauses and closes his eyes for a couple of seconds before turning more to you when it hits him. “I cannot believe we confessed we like each other like this.”
You pause, too, and Alpine meows annoyed. “You like me?”
“Obviously…” he groans. “Everyone knows it at this point.”
“Except for me! When were you gonna say something?” You ask, trying to keep your breathing under control. Is this really happening?
“I wasn’t… I’m not the best option.”
“Best option for what? I’m not looking for a new phone.”
“You are younger, and fun, smarter, sweeter… You are worth so much!”
So he thinks he’s not good enough for you just the way you think you aren’t good enough for him.
“And I like an old man.” You smile teasingly. “With long hair. Who gives the best hugs and is an idiot.”
You’ve been crushing on him for months now. You can’t believe how he didn’t see right through you, but you didn’t realize he likes you, either, so you can’t judge him much.
“Do you mean it mean it? As in serious relationship?”
“God, James, do I have to spell it out for you?” You grab his face.
“No.” He smirks, looking down. “And I am sorry, baby Alpine, but you’ll have to move.” He gently puts Alpine on the floor as she meows annoyed and grabs you, dragging you onto his lap. “I can’t believe you think I’d reject you.”
“I can’t believe you’d think about options…” She touches his face. “I liked you since I saw you in those pink shorts.”
Bucky laughs, remembering the moment. “You did not!”
“Oh, I did. Those arms helped a lot.”
He groans. “God, I felt like a creep that day… actually the whole week, I kept staring at your boobs.”
“Did you ever stop?” You tease amused. “You don’t like my boobs anymore?”
“Doll…”
“What?” You suddenly grab your boobs over your T-shirt and bring them closer to his face.
“Stop-” He closes his eyes, groaning. He cannot think straight at all, and his pants show immediately how he feels. You smile as you notice his erection.
“You’re already getting hard, so why stop?”
“I don’t want to do something too…”
“Too what?” You lean in a bit to finally kiss him. You’ve been waiting for ages to finally taste him, and he immediately answers, his hand wrapping around the back of your neck as you open your mouth.
“You taste so sweet,” you say.
“You taste sweeter, fuck me… I wanted to do this for a long time.”
“Who stopped you?” You don’t let him kiss you again, focusing on his neck this time. You wanted to leave hickeys there ever since you met him.
“My moral code.”
You snort. “You are not eighty, silly. Do I look like I don’t want it?” You push your hips toward his erection to make sure there’s no doubt in his mind. You’re so excited about this. It feels surreal.
“You seem like you want me.” He smiles. “Close to how I want you I guess.”
“I think more.” You place your hand on his chest in a heartbeat. “Wanna eat you whole.”
“Meow.”
“Not now, Miss Bubbles.” You groan. You love her a lot, but you’re about to finally get her daddy all to yourself.
“Meow.” It’s Alpine this time.
“I am gonna give them some wet food,” you sigh, getting off him. “You can… make yourself more comfortable.”
It doesn’t take more than a minute before you’re back with a smile. “So where were we?”
“We were kissing.” His hair is now free; his hairband on his wrist. You love his hair so much that you can’t wait to feel it properly under your touch.
“You look so hot.”
He snorts. “Thanks! So do you. God, can’t believe those pricks were right!”
You get back on top of him without thinking twice and kiss his cheek. “Stop thinking about them. Your dick doesn’t…”
“God, look at that mouth, you were tired of waiting for me, huh?”
“Yes, I was. Did Natasha tell you that?” You tease.
“They might have suggested I should make a move.” Your hum, your fingers finding their way under his shirt before touching his tummy. “Doll-”
“What? I really wanted to do this for a long time.”
“I did… do, too, but I don’t want to rush.”
That’s thoughtful. Very thoughtful.
“You’ve been my friend for months now, James. And I wanted to be more than your friend for months.”
“Same, but there is no rush, just so you know.”
“Well, you’ve already said that, and there is no rush. Unless you don’t want-”
He kisses you, interrupting you immediately. His hands go straight under your pants and panties to grab your ass.
“James!” You cry in the middle of the kiss. His touch feels so good.
“Hmm?”
“Thought you didn’t want to.”
“I want to, trust me.” He smiles. “But that doesn’t mean we have to.” Then he kisses you again. “We stop when you want.”
“Oh, come on, old man. Who told you I want to stop?”
Bucky squeezes your hips.
“Old man?”
“Yeah. Old and annoying,” you say before starting to take off his T-shirt, and he immediately lifts his hands.
“And horny for you “
“Not horny in general?”
“I don’t know. You’ve been on my mind for months.”
He’s been on your mind for months, too. Daily, you thought about him in any possible way.
“Dirty old man wanting to fuck a young, naive woman.”
“You’re into roleplaying?” He winks, blushing because of the way you phrased it.
“I am into fucking an old man on my couch.”
“What if I want to fuck you?”
You roll your eyes. “Your cock will be inside me either way.”
He laughs and takes ahold of your T-shirt, and just like that, before you can even react, it’s ripped and lying on the floor.
“James Buchanan Barnes!”
“Buchanan!” He repeats amused, but his focus is on your breasts, your hard nipples making it impossible for him to focus on anything else. “Oh God, these are so pretty and all mine.” He reaches out to grab them.
“Yours?”
He brings them together and lowers his head until his mouth touches them.
“James!”
His tongue is immediately on the skin, licking up and down until he finally has mercy enough to wrap his lips around one of your nipples.
You moan. “Good boy.”
“I’m your good boy, baby.”
That makes you groan again because this is too much!
“God, Bucky, you are so hot right now.”
“Just now?”
You smile. “Always, but especially in moments like this.”
“Oh fuck, do you have a condom?”
“I do, yeah. But do we need it?”
He lets go of your breasts and wraps his hand around your chin before he licks a spot right above your collarbone. “I won’t ask again, so are you sure?”
“I won’t change my mind, James. Now take your pants off, I want you in my mouth.”
“God, keep going and I will come in that-”
“Good, I want you to come in my mouth. And on these,” you grab your breasts again to drive him crazy. “Since you like them so much. And inside me.”
“All tonight?” He asked all shook.
“Why? You can’t get it up again, grandpa? One and done?” You know teasing him might not be the brightest idea since he can use it against you, but it doesn’t matter.
“I guess we’ll see.” He shrugs, not even trying to deny it. He gets extra points for not being offended. “Now take off your pants.”
“Just pants?”
He rolls his eyes. “I thought you wanted my come all over you.”
“I do, but I’m too lazy to-”
“Just tell me you want me to rip them.”
You gasp, getting off him. “Fuck you.”
“You will if you get naked.”
You take off your pants and panties, struggling with your socks a little, and when you turn your focus on him you see him sitting naked on the couch, waiting for you.
His hand is wrapped around his hard cock, but he’s not stroking it, his eyes focusing on you.
“You’re so fucking hard.”
Bucky laughs, shaking his head amused. “I thought you knew that.”
“Fuck you for holding back!” You complain and drop on your knees in front of him, taking him by surprise.
“You held back, too.”
“You seemed uninterested,” she says all defensive.
“See how uninterested I am?” He grabs his erection to emphasize his point, and you moan, touching the head with the tips of your fingers.
“Fuck.”
“Baby… let’s just-”
“Can you take off your hands?” You ask with a pout.
“What?”
“I really want to suck you off.”
It’s not a want at this point, it’s a freaking need. You have to do it, it’s an urge.
“And I really want to get inside you.”
You whimper annoyed. “Just a taste.”
“Just a taste.” He nods and takes off his hand, and just like that, your mouth immediately takes over as you wrap your hand around the rest of his cock while you try to take more in.
“Oh God, warn me, woman…”
You ignore him, fully focusing on licking his dick and not biting him. Breathing is hard as you gag a few times, but you try your best. You’re not used to it, especially since he’s thicker than you expected, and you’re nervous. You have no idea how he likes it and you can’t say you did it many times before. You just really want him to like it.
“Breathe, baby.” He moves the hair from your face, holding it in his right hand so he can look at you properly. “No rush.”
You start bobbing your head at some point, your fingers digging into his thigh.
“Fuck, do you want me to come in your mouth? Would you swallow for me or should I come all over your pretty tits?”
You scratch the skin of his legs as you bob your head faster, and he doesn’t need too much to come as he pulls your hair as nicely as he can.
“Good girl, my pretty baby.” He moans.
You don’t swallow completely as you finally let his still semi-hard cock out of your mouth, showing him your tongue.
“Baby, God…” He moans as you wait for a couple of seconds. “Want to swallow for me, pretty girl?’
You give him a wink before doing that, and Bucky feels he’s on another planet.
“You’re still hard.”
“And I am getting harder.”
“Good.” You smile innocently before you hug him, hiding your face in the crook of his neck. He’s so soft and warm, and he’s all yours.
“You are so sweet.” You feel his mouth on your shoulder. “I’m so fucking lucky.”
“I am lucky, too. You’re the sweetest man I’ve ever met.”
“What a sweet couple we are.” He teases.
“Yeah, dirty sweet.”
“I don’t think…” He hesitates, making you curious about what he’s about to say. There’s no way he’s rejecting you, so what is on his mind? “I don’t know how we’ll be apart from now on.”
“James!” You look at him emotionally.
“It probably sounds psychotic or weird, but…”
“Shut up!” Your fingers cover his bottom lip instantly, stopping him. “You are mine from now on, just so you know.”
He nods happily before kissing the tip of your thumb. “All yours.”
“Won’t you ask if I am all yours?”
He snorts. “Are you all mine?”
“Your cooking skills are amazing.” You let out a laugh as soon as you finish your phrase. “And a great hair. And I’m all yours.”
“All mine?” He lifts your ass a bit, and you gasp. “Would you fuck me then, ma’am?”
You giggle, moving your hand between your bodies to be able to grab his cock and position it at your entrance. “This is gonna feel so good,” you say before eagerly sliding down, making you both moan.
“S-so wet.” He groans trying to get further inside you. “You don’t even need lube.”
“Fuck me, James, you feel so good inside me.” You can barely whisper, as you start to move, testing for a little, trying to see what feels the most pleasant. His cock is not small, not huge, not too thick, not too thin, and it feels perfect.
“You held back for what?” You complain, using his shoulder for support, his hands on your hips to help you move better, too. “If I knew you liked me…” You moan, surprised when you feel his tongue on your breast.
“You know now. We trust each other… it’s perfect.”
“James…”
“Hmm?”
“It feels so… s-so good like this.”
“Yeah?” He smiles against your skin and thrusts again. “You like when I’m fucking you back?”
“Ihm.”
“You’re so wet around me, feeling like a glove. My perfect baby.”
His words make you feel dizzy. You match so well you can’t believe it “I’m so close.”
“Good girl.” He moans your name before licking your chest, leaving small bites everywhere he can. “I want to live inside you forever.”
“J-James…”
“So pretty, so lovely.”
He takes properly over movement as you stay still on top of him, clenching from time to time because you’re so close you feel him everywhere. The way he whispers how good you are, how great you feel, and how you should come, plus his teeth on your neck make you come after a while, and Bucky follows soon after that because of your loud moans. You’re both trembling as you come, your head falling on his shoulder.
“I feel so full,” you whisper.
“You are full, lovely.”
“Ihm.”
Your body feels heavy all of a sudden, sleepiness taking over you.
“Let’s get you cleaned.”
“But I don’t want to let go.” You complain, gripping him harder. You just want to stay there in his arms.
“Gonna carry you to the bathroom, how about this?” You open your eyes and you nod, so tired.
“Sounds good.”
The cats are waiting in front of the door when Bucky opens it with a hand while still carrying you. He walks past them, careful not to step on their tails, and goes straight to the bathroom, cleaning you with a semi-wet towel, then himself before getting both of you ready for sleep.
Good thing he locked up his apartment because he’s not going anywhere tonight. You fall asleep with Alpine on your pillow and Miss Bubbles on the chair while Bucky’s holding you.

Neighbor!Bucky Barnes X F!Reader
Word Count: 2,519 ⭐️Masterlist⭐️
Summary: I loosely based this off of a real life event of mine, so if things don’t make sense, ask God 🤣🤣
Warnings: Agegap, neighbor!bucky, adultery, 18+ not quite smut but I don’t want childen reading anything I write 🤷🏻‍♀️ suggestive or not.
Spending the summer with your aunt wasnt something you planned for when school ended. It meant church every Sunday, and Wednesday night. It meant no wifi and being stranded in a strange town on the border of Georgia and Alabama.
You’d never been to Georgia and the possibility of driving to Florida to go to the beach was enough to convince you 5 weeks wasn’t that long. The 10 hour drive there lasted longer than the summer escape.
The first few weeks were exactly what you expected. Church, shopping, eating your aunts famous fried chicken livers, talking on the porch late into the night. On the third Sunday, after church, she informs you that you’re taking a trip to Alabama. Her grandson is coming to spend the week. You both needed to go pick him up from her daughter.
It took 4 hours to get there, napping made it feel like 30 minutes. Your aunt pulled up to a trailer park, and you scan your surroundings. You were even further in the middle of nowhere, then what you were at your aunts house. You always wanted to know the way out. But here, a 2 mile dirt road separates you from the highway you turned off of. You take notice of the neighbors, one had a pool out front, some older ladies floating on pool noodles waved at your aunt, they must know her. The neighbors on the other side of your cousins house weren’t so inviting.
You saw a toddler sitting in the dirt crying. Watching up at his parents flinging spit in each others faces. You avert your gaze when the man flicks his eyes over to you. You know men like that, they’re terrifying and unpredictable. He could walk over to you and start on you just for glancing in his direction. Your aunt ushers you into her daughters house, not wanting you to see the altercation.
You hadn’t seen your cousin since you were a little girl. Now she has a little boy. It was weird. Your family was so large, it was impossible to keep up with everyone. You had many cousins you hadn’t seen since Christmas of ‘06. After a ham sandwich and barbecue chips you were ready to leave, it was more boring here, and your cousin even had cable. You aunt must’ve noticed your boredom, offering a swim in her friends pool out front.
“But I didn’t bring a bathing suit?” You say grinning, knowing you’d go naked if it meant you could swim. “Just wear your bra and I’ll go ask the neighbor if she has some shorts that will fit you.” Your aunt says, swinging open the screen door. You nod your head, quickly braiding your hair to keep it out of your face. You almost lose your spot, twisting knots into your hair when the blonde woman from next door walks in, smiling. “Hey, your aunt said you needed some shorts?”.
You hop up from the couch. “Yes, thank you, I don’t know if we’re even close to the same size but what can it hurt to try?” You give her a soft smile. She looked like a wounded animal. She was way too nice to be getting yelled at like that. You wonder what set him off. But you know better than to ask. “Tanya, your kids crying.” You both look behind her to the open door. The dark haired man was standing there, looking thoroughly disgusted. When his eyes find you again, you have nowhere to hide. “Your aunt says you guys are staying the night.” He informs you, walking away. You furrow your eyebrows, why wouldn’t your aunt tell you that herself?
“She did, James needs a ride into town tomorrow and your aunt couldn’t say no.” She gives you a tight lipped smile. She knows a young girl would rather be spending her summer somewhere else. Once you squeezed into the shorts, you bolted to the pool, with a quick introduction to Sherry and Barb, sisters who owned the park. They were nice, asked you questions and treated you like family. Your aunt must really know them, you had no clue how.
Tanya and your aunt walked across the grass and climbed into the pool. Tanya tightly held onto a bottle of Budweiser, letting you know the night was already starting. You dunk your head, wanting to wash away the sweat from your forehead. When you resurface you see James stomping towards the pool, his shirt missing and motor oil smeared on his chest. “Drinking beer but not watching your kid I wish I could be surprised.” That’s when you notice a little boy in his hands, floaties tightly wrapped around his arms and body. He snatched the brown bottle from her hands, tossing the boy into the pool. “I got shit to do.” He walked away, finishing the beer and throwing the empty bottle to the ground.
After two more hours in the pool, your cousin came out looking for your aunt, leaving you alone with the Tanya and the baby. “Are you happy?” You finally ask, only because you’re truly alone with her. Her eyes well with tears, she shakes her head no. You move across the pool grabbing the boy you’d become acquainted with. You pulled yourself out of the water, not bothering to dry off, but you wrapped the boy in a towel. The sun was setting and it wasn’t warm enough for him to be out here wet. “I’ll be right back.” You give her a firm nod, carrying him in the direction of her house. She just watched helplessly as you turn the corner out of site.
Your heart started beating faster as you walked up to the trailer, knocking on the door. You try to think of what to say as you wait for him to open the door. You hear cursing from the other side before it’s swung open. He stands there for a minute, holding the door open before you realize he’s inviting you in. You step up, still holding onto the toddler. You don’t move from the doormat, afraid of tracking water through the house. “You can lay him down on the couch.” He says, pointing toward the corner of the room. You nod, padding your feet across the cold linoleum. You didn’t even notice the boy fell asleep in your arms, swimming always tuckers out kids. You straighten your back when you feel water droplets sliding down the inside of your thigh, pooling water at your feet.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t even dry off before bringing him.” You look at the ground, wondering how you could fix the wet footprints that painted his floor. “I’m not.” He says but you barely catch it. “Huh?” You ask.
“Don’t be sorry, it’s just water honey.” You look up at him, not believing his sincerity. His blue eyes are piercing into yours. “Okay, well I better get back to the pool.” He watches you as you walk out of the door, he doesn’t make room for you to slip past him, causing you to turn your body towards him, he smelled good, you don’t know how. He was covered in black dirt from under the car, and sweat. He still wasn’t wearing a shirt and his tanned skin was so smooth, save for the happy trail growing up his stomach.
He was a lot older than you, more than 15 years, you’d guess. But you couldn’t tell standing this close to him. Your brain forces you out of the door. If you stood there in the tension for a second longer you don’t know what stupid thing would come out of your mouth. When you got back to the pool everyone had rejoined Tanya, even your aunt and cousin were drinking. You escape to your cousins house, changing back into your leggings and putting on your t-shirt. You check on your baby cousin, he’s sleeping in his room, not a worry in the world. You take the chance to spend a minute alone and turn on the tv.
You don’t even care to change the channel, SpongeBob played, lulling you to sleep. You’re awoken by your aunt, handing you the neighbor boy. “Will you watch him for a minute?” You just nod, and she’s out of the house. You peak through the curtain to see blue lights out front. Why are the cops here? You rock the boy to sleep, laying him down beside your cousin in his bed. When you walk outside everyone’s gone. The cops, your aunt, the neighbors. “What the hell.” You say out loud. You go knock on Sherrys door, hoping your aunt was there. But no one answered. Walking across the grass field someone caught your attention. It’s James, yelling at his trailer. “You don’t love me anyways, bitch.” He throws another beer bottle, this one smashes against the siding of the house. “I should’ve never fucked you and let you have my kid.” You stop in your tracks when he turns around, obviously drunk. “Hey.” He says, slowly walking towards you. “Are you okay?” You ask naïve as ever.
“I’m a good person, right?” He asks. You don’t know what to say, not wanting to tip him off that you were shitting your pants right now.
“Yes, you seem like a really good dad.” You’re trying to deescalate. “I am.” His voice is a little louder than it should be. “I don’t doubt it.” You’re still standing in the same spot, too afraid to move. “You’re nice.” He says, smiling widely. You give him one back, he hadn’t done anything to you yet, you weren’t going to give him a reason to.
It was no secret that you were nervous. Your breathing was fast and your eyes kept darting past him. “You don’t have to be scared. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” He throws his hands in the air. “I’m not going to hurt you.” He says, stepping closer to you again. “Everyone hurts me. Treats me like I’m not worth anything.” He lets his head hang, and you start to feel guilt building inside of you, this man just needed someone to lean on. “I’m not worthless, right?” He looks up at you with tears in his eyes. You know he’s drunk, but this pain was real.
“You’re worth more than you know.” It was cliche, but a true blanket statement, no one knows their true worth. “Thank you.” He says, wiping his eyes. “I just need someone to hold me for once.” You felt that, you knew exactly what he meant. “Wanna hug?” You offer, knowing that sometimes that’s all people need, church the last three weeks had taught you that. Sometimes a smile and a handshake is all the human contact people get all week.
He just looks at you, expecting you to close the gap between you. So you do, you walk towards him, fear in the form of sweat, still dripping from you. You give him a warm smile as you lay your head on his chest, wrapping your arms around his middle. His hands quickly found your hips, pulling you even closer to him. He squeezed you tightly, and you swear you hear him smell your hair. You try to pull away after an awkward silence falls over the two of you, but he won’t let you go.
“I’m sorry you’re going through stuff man, I am.” You say, patting his shoulder to tell him to let go. You feel his body go rigid against yours so you think he’s crying again. Drunk tears are never ending. “It’s okay.” You wrap your arms around him again, rubbing up and down his bare back. You try to pull away again, this time saying something “Don’t want Tanya to come out here and catch you hugging a stranger, probably best we let go now.”
His silence was a thousand words. Then he spoke, “You can’t do that.” He says lowly. You pull away and try to look at his face. “What are you talking about?” You ask, fear filling you again. He looks into your eyes, letting one of his hands slide down to the curve of your ass. You instantly put your hands on his chest and try to push him away. “You can’t be sweet to me and expect me not to like it.” His voice was different now, desperate. He presses his face into your neck, sloppily kissing up to your jaw.
Your heart is beating out of your chest now, and you stop fighting, not wanting to anger him. “You don’t want to cheat on your wife, you’re just drunk.” You try to break through to him. “You don’t know me.” He says, pulling you towards the back yard. “No I don’t, but you seem like a good man, don’t let a drunken mistake ruin what you’ve built for yourself.” You keep trying to persuade him.
“I wasn’t drunk earlier, when I watched you bend over in my living room, dripping wet. I wanted you then, just didn’t say anything.” He says, pressing you against your cousins house. He breathes in your face, and you smell more than beer on his breath, whiskey was pungently invading your nose. “So what? You like me or something?” You ask, confused on where this was going.
“Something like that.” He says, pressing his lips to yours. You’re shocked, you thought you were gonna be able to talk your way out of it. “This isn’t right.” You stop the kiss, nodding towards his trailer. You look between his eyes and try to find some common sense. “Then why does it feel right?” He grabs your hand, forcing you to cup the hard mass in his pants.
You gasp, you’d never felt one before, your virginity not up for debate, you’d never even had a boyfriend. “See, you like it too.” It’s like he’s trying to convince you. You look between him and the houses, searching for a witness. When you couldn’t find a soul, you stop fighting all together. He feels your body relax and takes it as permission to pull your leggings down. “Hey!” You say, but you guess it was too loud for his liking because he covers your mouth with his hand, looking you dead in the eye while his fingers push past your panties and dip inside of you. “You like being scared little girl?” He pulls his hand away from you, licking his fingers and tasting you.
Him reading you like a book was also a turn on. You stay silent, telling him everything he needs to know. He twist your body, pressing your face into the plastic. “Maybe you like it rough too, huh?” He slaps your bare ass, rubbing the raised red welt to soothe it.
You whimper, you’re going to let him have his way with you. If this was the only eventful thing that happens this summer, then what the hell. Tanya wasn’t happy and neither was he, who were you to interfere with destiny?

Bucky Barnes did not think of himself as the jealous type.
Yes, he envied his fair share of individuals he encountered throughout his long life: the people who made life appear easy, those who seemed to have everything figured out, and everyone who took “mundane” for granted.
The regular Joe’s with their nine-to-five jobs, a random group of friends, and not a care past anything other than their stack of overdue bills or their fantasy football league (whatever the hell that was…). The average Jane’s who often reminded Bucky of his own mother, hoping to grow and nurture happy homes, full of sweetness and a load of laughter, desperately trying to shield everyone around them from pain and misery.
Envy, yes. Bucky was familiar with the feeling. Jealousy however… Well, jealousy was different.
Jealousy was usually a side effect of romance. It called for a connection stronger than Bucky allowed himself to form with the people he met ever since he became himself again. It involved trekking on dangerous territory and putting other people at risk, therefore no, James Buchanan Barnes was not the jealous type.
That is until he met you.
He’s learned to admit that you entered his life at a time he did not even realise he needed you most, turning it completely upside down (for the better) and providing him with a glimmer of hope that there was still good in this post-blip world.
He’s grown attached to you, opening up in more ways than one and sharing thoughts he hasn’t spoken about with anyone since Steve. Over time, you have easily grown to be his favourite person.
And now Bucky was sitting at the bar, picking at the label of the beer bottle in his grip while watching you toss your head back in laughter at something this random suit-wearing jerk was saying.
You disappeared for five minutes to go to the bathroom. Bucky thought nothing of it, even ordered you another drink while you were gone. But when you didn’t come back to your seat, stopping instead for a chat with a stranger, you unknowingly caused an unnerving feeling to rush through the brunette sergeant.
This wasn’t the first time someone tried hitting on you while you were out with Bucky, (and considering how jaw droppingly beautiful you were, he was actually quite surprised it didn’t happen more often). However, this was the first time you engaged back in the flirtatious interaction, which was more than unsettling to your blue-eyed neighbour.
He wanted nothing more than to wipe the smug smirk off of the dude's face. Quite frankly, the only thing stopping him from doing so was the reason he wished to do it in the first place: you.
Fuck, Bucky cursed himself, this was jealousy.
Shifting in his seat so he wouldn’t have to witness you with that dunce, Bucky brought the beer bottle to his lips and, in one sip, finished what was left of his drink. He then paid the tab and was about to stand when a hand gently squeezed his shoulder, grabbing his attention.
“Sorry about that,” you said and he forced a smile.
“No need, darlin’,” Bucky reassured, hoping the tone of his voice didn’t betray him, although, judging by the elated look on your face, he had nothing to worry about. Your thoughts were focused entirely on something…  else.
“I was actually just about to leave,” he added and got to his feet. “Didn’t wanna disturb your conversation.”
You furrowed your brows. “What? No, don’t go,” you implored, sliding your hand from his shoulder down his leather covered arm until your fingers reached the hem of his jacket.
Bucky held his breath as you gripped the material, the softness of your skin just barely brushing against him.
“He gave me his number so I’ll call him later if I feel like it.”
“You stay,” he demanded, “I’ll go. There is something I gotta take care of anyway and I don’t wanna ruin your evening.”
Pursing your lips together, you eyed him suspiciously, scanning every inch of his face for any tale of dishonesty. See, during the time the two of you have spent in each other's company, you have gotten quite good at reading your brooding neighbour, despite his closed off demeanour. Which is how you could clearly see there was something bothering him.
However, you have also come to learn when to stop pushing him and give him space.
“Okay.”
“Okay,” Bucky repeated and shooting you one last congenial smile, he walked towards the exit.
You watched him leave, his figure disappearing in the shadows of the rainy New York night. Inhaling a quick breath, you returned to the guy you were chatting with just moments prior, and four drinks later, you stopped thinking about Bucky.
Albeit just for the night.
The next morning you wound up at his door, as usual. When he didn’t immediately answer, you retreated back into your own apartment without giving it a second thought because it was definitely like Bucky to ignore you from time to time.
That afternoon you knocked on his door again, and you repeated the action after returning from work over the next four days — still no Bucky. And because he was also not answering his phone when you called or replied to any of your texts, the worry suddenly spread through your veins making you nauseous.
Feeling conflicted about what to do next (since it wasn’t like you knew anyone else in his life you could reach out to) you decided to distract yourself any way you knew how, hoping one day the grumpy brunette would simply show up at your door as if nothing happened.
Unfortunately for you, keeping your mind from wandering about your blue-eyed neighbour proved harder than you wanted it to be and it wasn’t until a few weeks after you last saw Bucky, the perfect distraction finally made an appearance.
You often debated adopting a pet but your landlord didn’t allow any animals which seemed like reason enough. Now, you were standing face to face with what was perhaps the most beautiful cat you had ever seen, and as you cautiously approached it, the white feline inclined towards you, allowing you to gently run your fingers through its fur and eventually pick it up.
While carrying the cat to your apartment, you researched vet clinics in the area and promptly made an appointment for that same afternoon. Turns out your new furry friend was a she and the epitome of health, making you think there was someone out there missing her immensely.
While at work, you printed out flyers with a picture you took of her and your phone number at the bottom, before dropping them around town during lunch.
For about a week, you waited. Waited for your cell to buzz but no one ever called.
“Alone together, huh…” you murmured, gently running your fingers through her soft fur, “Guess I should give you a name then. Can’t keep calling you cat, you deserve better, don’t you think?”
She purred in response, as if she understood every word you just said, and you couldn’t help but smile.
The next couple of days were spent brainstorming potential names although nothing you came up with seemed to stick because either you didn’t entirely like it or she didn’t respond to it — mostly the latter.
“You’re so stubborn,” you tittered, watching her lick her paw, “I should call you ‘Bucky’.” The name escaped your lips and you immediately froze, your mood dampening.
That night you didn’t sleep. Tossing and turning all night, thinking about the blue-eyed man for the first time since the cat has entered your life.
Stirring sugar into your coffee the following morning, Bucky still occupied your thoughts.
There was something about him you couldn’t quite shake. Despite the majority of the people in your life being there longer than your super soldier neighbour, the connection you two shared, well you couldn’t really explain it. Bucky just made you feel… different.
Frankly, you hated yourself for becoming so codependent on another human. Sure you had a good group of friends and even enjoyed the company of a couple of your colleagues, but no one meant as much to you as James Barnes.
The cat snuggled into your leg, purring softly. You tilted your head down to look at her, her blue eyes reminiscent of Bucky’s, and a defeated sigh escaped your lips.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you whispered and she blinked. For a moment you wondered if she sensed the growing sadness in your heart. You remember reading how pets can detect human emotion, which is why they provide so much comfort, but you had a hard time believing it, until now.
The corner of your mouth twitched upwards, shifting your expression into a half-smile. You were about to say something when a distinct jingle of keys drew your attention.
It couldn’t be, you thought and hastily dropped the teaspoon into the sink before heading for your front door.
At first you were almost certain you were seeing a ghost, pale and dishevelled. Then, for a brief second, you didn’t really know who you were looking at. An intruder or someone new moving in perhaps? (A lot of possibilities although you only wanted one to be true.)
It wasn’t until the person turned around, eyes meeting yours instantly, you realised it really was him.
Bucky was back. Unexpectedly. The exact same way he disappeared.
“Hey,” he greeted sheepishly.
Your first instinct was to get angry, but the longer you stared at him, heart thumping, the more you knew that wasn’t the rational thing to do. Anger wouldn’t solve anything, it wouldn’t answer any questions. And you had a lot of questions.
The next thought that ran through your mind was to throw your arms around his neck and nuzzle yourself into his embrace because you missed him goddamnit.
“I-I…”
While you debated exactly how to react and what to say to him, your furry friend squeezed between your legs. The quiet meows grabbed your attention momentarily along with the attention of the brunette man.
With a shaky hand, you lifted the cat up before meeting Bucky’s gaze once again.
“I-I got a pet,” you blurted out, immediately regretting it because what a lame thing to say to someone you genuinely thought you would never see again.
He cleared his throat and responded, “I can see that.” Pause. “What’s um, what’s his name?”
“Her name,” you corrected, “And to be honest she still doesn’t really have one. I’ve just been calling her random things to see what would suit.”
Biting on the inside of his cheek, Bucky fought back a smirk.
“That’s definitely unique,” he commented.
“Don’t tease me, James.”
Just as the two of you returned to your usual banter, silence surrounded once again when his name escaped your lips. An apologetic look spread across Bucky’s features and he took a step in your direction.
“I’m sorry.”
Bucky decided quite early on into his friendship with you that he would do anything to keep you out of harm's way. When his feelings towards you transformed from general fondness into something much stronger, he decided the best way to keep the promise he made to himself would be to distance himself, (at least until said feelings faded).
He never planned on leaving. He simply wanted to make himself unavailable some evenings or weekends, come up with lame excuses as to why he couldn’t hang out. But the night Bucky left you at the bar, returning to his sad apartment alone, he switched on the TV. Suddenly, he needed to visit Sam. He figured you would understand. He never planned being away for so long. He never planned on leaving you behind without so much as an “I’ll be back”.
Looking at you now however, bottom lip quivering and tears in your eyes, he fucked up. He should have at least answered your calls and texts.
You sniffled. The cat, which was now half-resting on your shoulder, alerted immediately to the gentle sound of your undeniable sadness and rubbed its paw against your face.
“Uhm…” you cleared your throat, “I-I should go feed her.”
Bucky chewed on the inside of his cheek and nodded. He didn’t want you to leave yet, there was so much he had to say, a lot to explain.
“Right, of course,” he uttered almost sheepishly, “Maybe later if you have some time we can—”
“Maybe,” you cut him off and did a u-turn back into your apartment, “Welcome back, James.”
-
The next couple of weeks passed uneventfully.
And no, you weren’t avoiding Bucky. Not entirely. It just so happened that every time you had to leave, you did so via the fire escape as opposed to your front door, and every time you heard him out in the hallway, you switched everything off and held your breath, pretending you weren’t home.
You rationalised your behaviour as necessary. It wasn’t avoidance. It was… self preservation. He hurt your feelings when he left. You couldn’t just let him waltz back into your life as if nothing happened, opening yourself up for pain yet again.
Bucky was understanding of your unspoken request to be left the fuck alone. He knew he screwed up but he wasn’t sure how to make things better. All he wanted was to see you smile, and be the reason for it. How could the two of you get to that point when the couple of times you bumped into one another it was awkward?
Was it going to be like this forever?
Luckily, you had your cat to keep you distracted.
Despite not being named yet, she brightened your mornings and had a calming effect in the evenings. She sat at your feet while you were baking and purred into your chest when you were taking a nap. She followed you around the apartment like a trusted companion, even sitting on the bathroom floor while you showered.
So it was strange when one morning she wasn’t in your bed and it was even stranger when you didn’t hear her tapper around the apartment while you were getting ready. A feeling of dread settled in the pit of your stomach when you called her for breakfast by the various names you’ve so far come up with — no response.
By the time you had searched around your whole apartment, you were already late for work. At that point you were thinking you couldn’t go in anyway, your fucking cat was missing. One quick “I think I have food poisoning.” call later, you unlock your laptop in search for the flyers you made when you found her. Tears formed in your eyes while adjusting the title from ‘IS THIS YOUR CAT?’ to ‘HAVE YOU SEEN MY CAT?.
That’s when you knew you couldn’t do this alone.
A short two minutes later, your knuckles are pressed against the wooden door of your neighbours apartment. One, two, three gentle knocks later, and Bucky is standing in front of you.
“I need your help,” is all you managed to blurt out. It’s all you needed to say, really. Bucky doesn’t need any further explanation when it comes to you. He grabbed his jacket and followed you without question.
When you showed him the poster on your laptop screen, he reassured you in a calm tone. One that almost makes you believe him. One that almost makes you forget that he’s left you all alone, without a word. Almost.
“When did you last see her?” Bucky asked.
When you shrugged your shoulders in a defeated manner, he sighed softly and without really thinking about where your friendship currently stood, wrapped his strong arms around you. The second his frame closed around yours, you burst into tears, face pressed against his chest as he held you close, consoling you.
The world seems to come to a stand still at that moment.
You’re not sure how long the two of you stood there. Seconds, minutes. He did, however, manage to calm you down, bringing the waterfall to barely a trickle as you sniffled against his t-shirt.
When Bucky eventually dropped his arms, you avoided his gaze. Scared to admit out loud how good that felt and how glad you were he was here for you, since he’s hurt you once when you became too attached, and you weren’t going to let him do it again.
“How about you stay here, in case she comes back, and I’ll go search for her outside?” Bucky suggested, dipping his head to try and meet your teary eyes. His hand is on your shoulder, barely holding on as if he was afraid you would suddenly flinch and pull away — which he most definitely was.
All you did was nod, and as he headed out the door, a quiet “thank you” escaped your lips.
“Anything for you, darlin’.” Is what you think you heard, but the tone of Bucky’s voice is so quiet, you rationalised that you heard wrong.
The day was spent wandering aimlessly around your apartment, checking your phone every two minutes to see if Bucky had had any updates on the whereabouts of your little pet. He had not.
By the time the sky turned dusky dark, you had lost all hope. She’d never be found. It was as if the universe only meant for you to be together while Bucky was away. You couldn’t have both. That would be too good, too lucky.
But just as you were about to start crying again, a glass of cheap wine in hand, the doorknob rattled and seconds later, in walked Bucky, holding your precious feline friend in his metal arm.
“Oh my god,” you exhaled as relief took over your entire body.
You ambled forward, reaching for the cat in Bucky’s grasp as she meowed uncontrollably, seemingly happy to see you. And Bucky smiled as he watched you snuggle into the white creature, heartbeat growing tenfold with every tick of the clock.
“She uh,” he began as you moved across your apartment, settling down on the couch, “She’s quite the climber, that one. After a day of searching half of Brooklyn, I eventually found her on the rooftop of this very building.”
“Thank you,” you said without averting your gaze from your furry white friend.
What he wanted to say is, “Just glad I could be here for you,” but what he uttered instead was, “Don’t mention it, darlin’.”
For a moment, Bucky hovered in your entryway, unsure whether you wanted him to leave now or if he could stay, just like he did many times before. He decided to not push it. Decided it’s best for the longevity of your friendship to not force anything with you, especially since the strong feelings he had for you before he left have only increased in the time apart — complete opposite of what he wanted to happen.
So he turned on his heel, but just as he was about to say goodnight, you turned your attention to where he stood and waved him over.
“Stay,” you requested, “The least I can do as a thank you is order us some takeout.”
“You don’t have to do that, darlin’.”
“I want to,” you said honestly, hoping he can detect your sincerity, “Stay, please. I-I let you walk away once before and ended up not seeing you for months.”
He swallowed, but didn’t say anything.
“Please stay. I want you to stay, James.”
-
The morning light trickled in through your half-opened curtains, causing your eyes to open slightly and take in your usual surroundings. Except these weren’t entirely your usual surroundings. There was one thing different this Saturday morning as compared to others.
Bucky was still asleep, covered loosely by one of your many blankets. His chest heaved softly, quiet breathes escaping through his parted lips. He looked so peaceful sleeping in your bed, sleeping next to you, and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight before you.
You shifted to your side and slowly trailed your gaze along his pretty perfect features, focusing on the details you’ve honestly never noticed before. The scruff perfectly angling his jawline, the little crinkles in the corner of his eyes showcasing how he’s aged over the years, barely noticeable but still present.
Then the cat made an appearance, jumping on the bed, settling between you and the super soldier. Before you got a chance to shush it, not wanting to wake Bucky up, she purred against his shoulder.
A smile crept up on his features at the contact. Seconds later, he opened his eyes before slowly tilting his head to first look at the pet, then at you.
“Good mornin’.”
“Hey.”
There’s a moment of silence during which you two simply stare at one another. Time seemed to have come to a standstill. The blue of his eyes piercing, searching your gaze for what, neither of you were really sure. All you both knew was the longer you remained this way, the more your hearts swelled.
Bucky was suddenly feeling nervous, as were you.
“Thank you for staying,” you eventually whispered.
“Thank you for asking me to stay,” he replied.
Another second of silence.
There was so much Bucky wanted to tell you, but the words were stuck in his throat because how can someone go from avoiding, leaving without a word, to admitting that they cannot live without the other person. And that’s exactly how he was feeling. He’s come to terms with it now. He couldn’t live without you.
Would you even feel the same? He wouldn’t expect you to. In fact, he would think you’d want to remain a little distant given everything that’s happened. But then again, if that’s how you felt, then why would you ask him to stay?
Maybe you just needed the extra push, same as him.
“Think you should name her Alpine,” Bucky suggested, one hand rubbing the cat that was now sitting on his chest, while the other reached for your fingers. Slow, but not hesitant.
“Alpine,” you tested the name on your lips. “I like that.”
You take his hand then, intertwining your fingers together without commenting on the fact. He squeezed gently, testing the waters further, and you squeezed back — again, both of you choosing not to say anything about the physical interaction.
“Did you have any plans for today?” Bucky asked and you shook your head. “So, would you eh, would you wanna go somewhere?”
The smile on your lips widened.
“We do have a lot of catching up to do, neighbour.” A modest tease. One you hope won’t ruin the moment, or the day ahead.
He just chuckled, mimicking your expression and making any worries disappear just as fast as they threatened to break through.
“That we do, darlin’.” Pause. “I’m sorry for messing it all up. I promise to make it up to you, starting today.”
Taking his apology in, you let go of his hand, instantly missing his touch. Bucky was too, but he didn't get to completely register just how much because you shuffled closer to where he lay, closing the gap between you.
One arm extended towards his chest, resting gently as your fingers brushed a now sleeping Alpine, and also grazed against Bucky’s own in the process. The thudding of your heart inside your chest was most likely loud enough for him to hear — it was. He focused on it, the beating, and it calmed him entirely.
Your aura calmed him. It has since day one and he hoped it would until the end of his days on this Earth.
Yes, Bucky was more than attached to you.
Luckily, the feeling was mutual.
Sealed with a soft kiss.

There is a honeyed flower drifting in the air from the secret blooms under lacy clouds and a sun that glistens in the sky
When you are adding sunscreen and trying to see your back through the shadow, you squint, tilting your head to make sure you don’t miss any spots.
“Would you like some help, Printsessa?" Bucky, shirtless, looks like he'll join you today, and the sun illuminates every ab he has. His broad shoulders and toned back, along with his firm legs, are a sight to behold. You can’t help but admire how incredible he looks in the sun. His physique is both intimidating and attractive.
Biting your lip, you admire the view in front of you. When he sees you looking at him, he smirks and walks towards you.
"I applied it on my front, but my arms can't bend that way on my back." you reply.
He smiles, "Let me help you. I have experience with this kind of thing." He reaches out and begins applying the lotion to your back.
Those gigantic hands press cold lotion into the place on your spine. It sends a shiver down your body, a jolt of electricity that sends a wave of relaxation through you. You feel your muscles loosen and the tension in your body melt away. However, your mind turns back to when you first felt a drop of water fall out of Bucky's hair. This is combined with the lotion on your spine and the sunscreen applied by your hot neighbor.
You want him to feel more than just your back.
The water drops runs from your neck down your spine in slow motion. You feel his finger racing to stop it and he’s near your lower back area. His touch lingers longer than it should have and you feel your heart beat faster.
You want to turn around and pull him closer, but instead you stay still, lost in the moment. "Is this alright?" His hand brushes up your spine, and he leans in close until his lips are only a whisper away from your ears.
"More, please." you softly murmur, then reply quickly, "I mean on the lower back since I can't reach." He smiles, and his hands explore further, sending shivers up and down your spine. He kisses your neck, and you feel his lips curve into a smile as he whispers, "Like this?" It feels like fire against your skin. His hands move in circles, and your body relaxes as your eyes close.
You nod in response, feeling safe and content in his embrace.
“I need more."
“Let me give you more, Printsessa. Trust me.” He whispers words of praise and admiration in your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
You turned around and kiss him.
The kiss was like sunscreen, a salty-sweet reminder of the summer sun.
Tumblr media
In one swift movement, he removes the bathing suit from your body, letting you feel the cool air, the sun, and his hands on your body.
Bucky wants to tease you more and encourage you to be his. He steps closer and runs his hands over your body, admiring you.
Cool breezes on a hot day, tenderly touch my lips, my body, and my soul.
Grasping your thighs and slapping your butt, he rests his head on your shoulder and feels how beautiful you felt around his cock. Teasingly nibbling your neck, he rocks his hips on your ass.  His mind is on the verge of slipping away, for who knows how long. His movements are getting faster and faster. He feels the heat of your body.
He pulls you closer as he places his hands on your waist. He looks into your eyes and caresses your face, brushing his lips against yours. "You're now mine," he whispers as he breathes on your neck. He plays at your breast as his hands slide down your neck. He bites into your skin while holding one hand on your nipple and the other on your waist.
He deftly grasps one nipple between thumb and forefinger, squeezing it gently, pulling it gently. In the shadows and sun, he can see the shuddering from you around him. His hand is placed on your mouth when he says, "So sensitive, Princess".
You close your eyes, savoring the sensation, letting out a soft moan. He moves to the other nipple, treating it in the same way, eliciting the same reaction from you. His hands move down your body, sending ripples of pleasure through you.
You let out a low moan as his hands continue to explore.
As the sunshine pours forth from my core, I feel my lips tingle with desire.
"Open for me." He slides two fingers in, torturously matching the rhythm of fingering your mouth with fucking your ass. His breathing becomes heavy as he looks up to the sky and says, "My, how your body responds so beautifully to my every touch."
"“I know, it takes some getting used to. I'll get her wet." He tugs at your nipple with his free hand, moaning. His thrusts are getting stronger, and he kisses your neck as he continues to fill you up. He grabs your hips and moves his hips in a circular motion, drawing out every moan and gasp from your lips.
He finally reaches his climax, and you feel every shudder as he fills you with pleasure.
Let your body burn with lust as they touch my skin

Hello Neighbour (2)
Pairing: DILF!Neighbour!Bucky Barnes x Reader
Tumblr media
warnings: Fluff, Kissing, Alcohol (Wine), Flirting
words: 1.3k
previous chapter: Part 1
next chapter: Part 3
a/n: so I couldn’t help but write more for these two. last chapter was more like an introduction but things move forward in this one. I really hope you all like it. Feedback and Reblogs are appreciated!
“Daddy, no late!” Becca called for her dad, who was still figuring out what to wear for dinner. Was a shirt too formal? Was a t-shirt too casual?
“This.” Becca pointed her finger to a Navy full-sleeved Henley. Bucky picked it up and quickly changed into that. He took another look at the mirror with a smile on his face.
“Good choice, Becs.” Bucky picked up his daughter, and Alpine followed them. He didn’t forget the flowers he got for you and the bottle of wine, he didn’t know what to get so he went with something simple.
You were almost done with cooking, the brownies still in the oven when you heard the knock on your door. Why were you feeling so giddy? It was just a dinner. With your neighbours. The cute girl, the sweet cat and the hot- no, nice man.
“Hi” You smiled at the three.
“Hi” Bucky smiled back. He was busy looking at you and forgot everything else. When Becca softly poked him, he came back to reality.
“Right um- these are for you.” He gave you the flowers and wine, and you asked them to come in.
“Thank you, Bucky. Don’t remember the last time I got flowers.” Bucky couldn’t believe that. Sweet girl like you, deserved all the flowers and appreciation.
“Yum” Becca commented as she smelled the aroma coming from your kitchen. You smiled.
“Hope it tastes good too.” All of you took a seat in the living room.
“I’ll bring two glasses of wine for us. And for Becca, I have juice or choco milk.”
“Choco Milk!” Becca answered excitedly, while Bucky chuckled.
“Can I help?” Bucky offered.
“Oh no problem. I’ll be back soon.”
When you were in the kitchen, serving the drinks, you couldn’t help but feel all warm about the way Bucky looked at you. Were you imagining it?
“Here you go.” You gave Becca her chocolate milk and Bucky his glass of wine. Becca was sitting in the middle of the sofa and the two of you on either side. Alpine made her way to you, and got comfortable on your lap.
“She likes you.” You smiled at the kitty, softly petting her. Looking up again, you found Bucky adoringly taking in the scene in front of him.
“I made grilled fish and mashed potatoes, and special fish for Alpine which won’t harm her digestion. Oh, also there is Mac and Cheese just in case Becca doesn’t like fish.” Bucky chuckled.
“You didn’t have to do so much, oh now I feel bad for troubling you.”
“It’s no trouble at all.”
Becca looked at you with loving eyes on hearing the mention of Mac and Cheese.
“can watch TV pwease?” Becca looked at the two adults.
“Becs..”
“Pwease Daddy.” Bucky gave her a look and then looked at you.
“Alright Becca, how about you watch TV while I serve dinner and then when it’s ready you’ll come eat alright? So TV just for a little while.”
“Okie.” Becca nodded excitedly as you turned on the TV and put on a cartoon.
You excused yourself to the kitchen and Bucky followed. He insisted on helping you arrange the table. You didn’t talk much just exchanged glances and smiles.
“Thank you for the wine, it’s really good” You told him, taking another sip of your wine.
There was this tension building up and you both could feel it. The way his eyes followed your lips. You gulped.
“I’m glad you like it. Didn’t know what you like so just got one of my favourites.” Bucky took a step closer to you. The slight grays in his beard were glowing under the kitchen light.
The oven couldn’t have a worse timing to let you know the brownies were ready. Both of you took a step back from the trance and you grabbed your oven mitts to take out the brownies.
“Did I mention Brownies?”
“You did not. You’re spoiling us.” This man had quite an affect on you. Always making you feel warm. You smiled at him as you both arranged the table.
“Dinner’s ready Becca.” You announced and soon little footsteps followed.
She took a seat and you served her some Mac and Cheese as well as some Fish and potatoes. After that you gave Alpine her food.
Bucky and you sat opposite each other and Becca beside you.
“Looks delicious” Bucky told you while holding eye contact. That man… wow. Becca hums happily taking the first bite of Mac and Cheese.
“Yum yum” she nodded her little head, shifting all her focus to the yummy food. Bucky kept looking at you while taking the first bite from his plate. How could someone make eating grilled fish so hot?
“Oh, oh this is some good food” Bucky moaned at the taste. You couldn’t help the big smile that appeared on your face.
“I’m glad you liked it.” The two of them happily had their meals and you turned to take a look at Alpine. She was enjoying her food too. You didn’t realise how the presence of this lovely little family was making you feel happy and content. You wanted more of this.
After dinner and dessert, Becca insisted on watching a movie. You picked out The Lion King and she approved your choice. The three of you plus Alpine got cozy on the sofa. Becca sat comfortably against you as you all enjoyed the movie. Towards the end, you could feel Becca getting sleepy.
“Maybe we should get going now.” Bucky looked at you and then at Becca sleeping.
“She looks so cute like this. You have a very sweet daughter Bucky.” He smiled.
“Well yeah she can be a handful at times, my little munchkin, but she is the best. Gosh, I love her.” You smiled back.
“Thank you for dinner, I really appreciate it.”
“Oh no problem, I had a great time with you all. Please take some brownies with you, there’s so many.”
“I’ll not say no to that, you’re an amazing chef.”
You smiled while gently taking the empty wine glasses from the table in front and made your way to the kitchen as Bucky followed.
“My social skills aren’t the best.” Bucky told you, scratching the back of his head.
“Well looks like we have something in common.” You smiled while washing the glasses.
“Let me help” Bucky moved closer to you, very close. Suddenly you could feel his warm breath against your neck as his large hands gently took the glass from yours.
“I-“ You could barely speak out loud. He smelled so good.
“You’re really pretty.” As if he wasn’t already making you melt, he started complimenting you as well. Great.
“Um-“ Again. Words, come on words.
“Maybe this is too soon but, I was just wondering if, you would like to go out with me sometime? you can totally say no, I mean we barely know each other bu-“
“Yes.” You didn’t let him finish. With a big smile you repeated yourself. “Yes.”
Bucky kept the washed glass aside as he stared at you.
“If it’s not totally out of line. Can I kiss you?”
You decided it was better to show than tell, so you softly gripped his Henley and pulled him into a kiss. It started sweet and soft. So soft, Bucky thought, he didn’t want to stop kissing you. Before it could get much heated, you heard a small cough from the living room and pulled away.
“Guess that’s Becca” You bit your lip while he kept staring at your kiss swollen lips.
“We should continue that some other time” Bucky winked.
“At least buy me dinner first.” you winked back.
“Next Friday?” he asked.
“Next Friday it is, Neighbour.” He gave you another peck on the lips before going back to the living room. Becca was still half asleep, moving around in the couch.
“Let’s get you to bed, Becs.” Bucky kissed his daughter’s forehead. They were adorable. He picked her up and Alpine followed them, not before she stopped by your leg and you scratched her head. She was so cute like the daughter and father duo.
You packed them a box of brownies, which Bucky gladly accepted.
“Goodnight Neighbour,” Bucky smirked as he walked to his apartment.
“Goodnight Bucky.”
“Dream about me.” He added that with a wink before heading inside.

Breathe.
In.
Out.
Easy.
Just like that.
You can’t stop looking in the mirror.
You look…you look…god. You look terrified.
Fuck.
This was a bad decision. A really bad decision.
What the hell were you thinking?
What the hell was he thinking?
God, you feel like you can’t breathe again.
Focus.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
You smooth your skirt, pulling it once again for no reason. None other than habit, you suppose.
You look over yourself. Not awful, you think. You’re wearing your staple black long sleeve top with your high waisted houndstooth skirt. It’s cold outside, so you’re in your black thigh high boots. The ones that took you ages to find but have been your favorite since coming across them. You swear this pair was made in heaven because it felt like a miracle finding ones that actually fit your legs properly. You’ve accessorized with your trusty belt and your favorite jewelry and your hair somehow looks the best it has in days. Makeup is flawless and though you try to find something to fix…you just can’t.
And still, there’s that gnawing feeling telling you that you’re doing something wrong - that you are wrong.
You don’t know why you’re being so down on yourself today, but it seems like you’ve poked at each and every insecurity you’ve ever had in the past hour alone.
Maybe some part of your mind thinks it’ll convince you to not go through with this if you feel badly enough. Too bad you don’t really have the option of chickening out.
You sigh and finally look away from the mirror, instead reaching for your bottle of perfume and spraying yourself lightly with the lovely scent.
You smile a bit as you set the bottle back down in its spot.
You remember the first time you wore it. It was the day after your birthday - you had gotten it for yourself as a gift. You went over to Bucky's for your weekly movie watch and when you walked by him as he held his front door open for you, he seemed immediately taken. He was all over you as he followed you in close behind.
You had jerked away when he leaned in to smell you, giving him a look of incredulity.
“Creep,” you groused.
“Sorry,” he laughed, “but you smell incredible,” he complimented, leaning into you again. “Is that new?”
“It is, yeah. Smells good, right?” you smiled, loving your choice even more.
“Like heaven,” he simpered.
You knew he loved this perfume, but that is not why you are wearing it tonight, you tell yourself. That is simply a coincidence. It may be his favorite, but it was your favorite first.
You double check your phone, despite it having not gone off at all in the past two hours, just to ensure you weren’t missing any messages…particularly one that would read something along the lines of “Sorry to cancel so last minute but…”.
Of course, you find nothing.
Checking the time, you have fifteen minutes til seven.
Fifteen was plenty of time to get yourself to finally calm the hell down a bit.
You can do this.
It’ll be…what it is.
And no matter what it is, it’ll be.
You breathe a deep breath.
…Maybe you still have time to cancel…
A knock on your front door startles you and you leave your room to stand in your hallway, eyeing the door as if you’re expecting it to burst open despite the gentleness of the sound.
Nothing.
Then another knock.
You brace yourself, swallowing thickly as you approach the door.
Of course you know who it is.
Impending doom.
No! Stop with the negativity, you chastise yourself.
Of course he’d be early. If you weren’t so caught up in your head, you’d roll your eyes at his punctuality. You shouldn’t have expected anything less.
“Early is on time, on time is late.” You can hear him saying it now.
You get to the door and unlock the bolts one at a time, as slowly as you can, trying to drag out the inevitable as you focus on your breathing.
You grab hold of the knob, and once again remind yourself to get your shit together. The door slowly creaks open as you pull on it heavily and when you finally chance at glance at the man at your door, you find Bucky’s eyes on you. His lips part ever so slightly as he takes you in before his gaze comes back up to meet yours.
He titters, the corner of his lips coming up in a half smirk as he breathes a sigh of relief.
“You answered,” he says.
“Yeah,” you blink dumbly at his words, “why wouldn’t I have?”
“I don’t know, you’ve been avoiding me all week,” he accuses. “I was honestly a little worried you were gonna cancel on me.”
You look down, a little embarrassed at being called out. But he was right, you had been avoiding him.
Well not him. It wasn’t him. It was just the nerves. You weren’t sure you’d be able to talk to him, let alone look at him without somehow screwing everything up all too quickly.
Anytime you caught even just a glimpse of him in the hallway or heard what could have been him coming or going as you were, you would make yourself scarce as soon as possible. Even when you clearly saw one another, eye contact established and everything, you’d be gone before he could get a word out in your direction. The last time you spoke with him face to face was New Year’s Eve.
The breathy “yes,” that left your lips still shocked you when you thought back on it. Which you had often this past week. Replaying the way Bucky’s face lit up at your answer, how happy he looked… before you quickly turned tail and rushed your “good night”; hurrying back to your apartment and leaving Bucky standing there in a bit of a stupor, huffing a laugh out his nose as he watched you flee, but his half smile never breaking as he called a good night after you.
Bucky has tried to talk to you since then, of course, but you just kept evading him. If he really wanted or needed to get to you, truthfully, he could have - but he didn’t want to overwhelm you. And a part of him was worried about the two very same things you were, just from his side.
Part of you was afraid you’d just flounder and end up outright canceling and the other part was scared you’d lose all self control and end up kissing him again. Not that that sounded like the worst thing in the world…But still, you kept your distance while you could.
“These are for you, gorgeous,” he continues before you can say anything in response. You only then notice the bouquet of flowers he holds in his hand.
They’re gorgeous. Nicer than the ones he had on Valentine’s day, and even nicer than the bouquet you had been gifted from your coworker that day, too.
“Wow,” is all you can utter as you take them from him. “Thank you,” your voice is quiet as your surprise at the gesture overwhelms you.
You’ve never been given flowers this nice before. And you definitely weren’t expecting it.
“They’re so pretty,” you say, eyes flitting up to see his enamored gaze on you before you look back down to the flowers.
“Just like you,” he says, stepping closer to you in the doorway. “You look stunning.”
You smile, albeit a bit stiffly, at the compliment, offering another ‘thank you’.
Your cheeks feel like they’re on fire at his words and you bite your lip as you turn from him to head to the kitchen.
A second passes and you turn back to see him still standing in the doorway, not following you.
You raise a brow, “What are you a vampire?” you ask sarcastically. “Come in,” you instruct with a laugh.
“Didn’t want to be presumptuous,” he says, finally coming inside, closing the door gently behind him.
“Yeah? Since when?”
He smirks again then, following you to the kitchen as you search out your vase.
“I’m being a gentleman,” he states.
You eye him, scoffing before turning back to readying the bouquet for the water.
“What’s funny?” he questions, faux offense in his voice.
“You,” you shake your head, fighting your smile. “...You look nice, by the way,” you compliment after a second of fighting your nerves.
“Thanks, doll.”
You jump as his voice comes from right beside you, his stealth surprising you.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” he laughs, admiring your handiwork as you arrange the flowers just right.
You turn into him, taking a breath as you really look at him again. The blue of his eyes stand out even more with the depth of his black sweater under his dark wool overcoat. The outfit fits him well, you absentmindedly admire. He really does look nice.
God, he always does.
You breathe in his dark, woody cologne in your proximity and your knees threaten to go wobbly as you do.
Is this really real?
“You ready?” he asks. You flit the thoughts away and meet his eye, nodding in response before you look at his arm as he offers it to you.
You meet his eye once more before taking it and he leads you to the front door, but not before you grab a coat of your own.
Breathe, you remind yourself.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
Easy.
Walking up to the doors of the restaurant side by side with Bucky, you feel that contentment you only ever feel when he’s around.
The cab ride was nice, the sound of the rain falling outside lulling you unthinkingly into Bucky’s side as you looked out the window, street lights and headlights flashing by - people with umbrellas still walking along the city streets.
You smiled as you felt Bucky’s warmth radiating from him, the slow alternative music flowing through the speakers making everything feel that much more intimate. You’ve spent plenty of time with Bucky, you’ve sat this close to him before, but this still felt different. The date hadn’t even really begun and you could end the night right here and now and still be happy.
Man, was that pathetic?
You started to feel the worry building up inside you again, but then you felt Bucky’s arm come around your shoulders, holding you to him. You instantly relaxed into him, but didn’t turn your head to meet his gaze.
What had you been so concerned about to begin with? It’s not like you were or ever had been forcing yourself or your presence on the man. Bucky asked you on this date. He kissed you first. And even before the party, he always invited you over to his place, and would somehow always manage to convince you to stay just a little bit longer - no matter how long you’d been there. It was clear he liked being around you. All the signs of reciprocated feelings were there. And yet for some reason, you still found it hard to believe.
You felt like you were in a dream.
Bucky guides you up the short steps leading up to the entrance of the establishment, his hand on your back as you take careful steps in your heeled boots on the slippery steps as the rain continues beating down on and all around you. Your left hand is in his metal one as you hold onto it for balance.
Ever the gentleman, he opens the door for you to enter before he gives his name to the host at the front of the restaurant.
“Sergeant Barnes, it’s an honor. Please, follow me this way, your table is all ready,” the young man smiles before he walks you and Bucky to the back, to a closed off area of the restaurant. You look around, a bit confused, but not at all upset at the privacy.
There is a table set for two in the dimmed dining area, a small lit candle on the table along with more flowers. Your heart is threatening to beat out of your chest as you take it all in.
Your seat is pulled out for you by Bucky before he helps you out of your coat, and once you’re sat, he effortlessly pushes your seat back closer to the table before he removes his own coat and takes his seat across from you.
Your host shows you the menus briefly and takes your drink orders before he takes his leave, letting you know your waiter will be by soon to get drinks started.
It’s not a five star restaurant, more like a quaint, family owned eatery, but it feels even more intimate here. And with only you and Bucky back here, you really feel like you’re in your own little world. It’s nice.
It’s more than nice, actually.
It’s damn near perfect.
Bucky smiles at you as he notices you looking at him.
You hadn’t even realized you were, but you don’t look away despite being caught.
“I’m impressed, Barnes,” you offer with a small smile. “I was expecting…well,” you huff a laugh, “I don’t know what I was expecting, but this is still somehow exceeding all expectations.”
“Good,” he smiles. “I know you hate fancy food so I thought this place would be perfect. Mom and Pop’s kinda dinner.” His voice doesn’t sound it, but from the way he breaks eye contact as he over explains himself, you know he wasn’t entirely sure about his decision to come here over somewhere else.
“I do hate fancy food,” you nod. “This was a good choice.” You pick up your menu and look it over, giving some thought to what sounds appetizing. “What are you getting?” you ask without looking up. You know Bucky isn’t looking at the menu because you can feel his stare on you.
“Sirloin,” he says without hesitation, “and you?”
“Mmm. I’m thinking burger.”
“Classic,” he supports.
You titter, setting the menu down after deciding on what you’d be ordering.
Your eyes meet Bucky’s and after a second you give him a nervous smile.
“So…” you begin.
“So,” he echos.
Before you can start to speak again, you see your waiter coming into the private area, walking toward the table, a tray in hand.
You thank him as he sets down the glasses and a basket of warm bread on your table before Bucky gives him your orders.
When you’re all alone again, you copy Bucky as he takes and butters a roll, using the other half of his butter packet so you don’t have to open another one. You tear your roll apart, eating it in pieces as opposed to Bucky who squishes it down and bites into it like it’s a biscuit, amusing you. It’s fresh, so warm, and so fluffy.
“This is so good,” you rave.
“It’s bread and butter, it’s impossible for it not to be,” he smiles.
You point a manicured finger at him as you chew on your next piece, “You got me there.”
He sets his roll down on the plate as he licks his teeth, eyes trained on you as he does. You try to ignore it as he tilts his head while staring at you. It feels like he’s trying to read your mind.
“So…” he repeats your earlier sentiment, “were you going somewhere with that before?”
You kiss your lips, your eyes flicking up to his. You take a breath, measuring your words.
“Yeah. Uhm,” you think a moment longer. “I’ve just been wondering, how long?”
His brows furrow in an unspoken question but he doesn’t get the chance to ask before you elaborate.
“You said you’ve been wanting to do this for months, I just - I’m curious how long exactly you’ve been waiting.”
He knows his answer, but he also knows you won’t believe him if he tells you. Since the very first month you met, he’s been wanting to do this. But he won’t say that. Not right now, anyway.
“A while,” he settles on. “A very long while.”
He holds your eye as he answers you and you know he means it.
You nod, pursing your lips to keep your smile from completely breaking across your face. “A while…” you muse. “What took you so long?”
“I didn’t wanna scare you away,” he says truthfully.
The look in his eye is so intense and earnest, you have to remind yourself to breathe.
“...You wouldn’t have,” you tell him, your voice quiet, not far off from a whisper.
He can’t help his smirk, “I don’t think that’s true,” he scrutinizes you.
You make a face, a cross between a scowl and fighting a pout. But you know he’s right. God, he has a habit of calling you out every time you need to be.
“Yeah, okay,” you begrudgingly agree while he relishes in your pouty acceptance.
It took all of your heart’s strength to agree to a date tonight, even after all the time you’ve spent with him, how real you know your feelings to be - whether or not you wanted to play them off as silly daydreams or not - all of this and you really almost did run away scared without giving him an answer that night. You know you would’ve said no in a heartbeat had it been when you first started getting to know one another. You’ve never been one to risk it, you wouldn’t have then, either.
But sitting across from Bucky here and now, you’re glad you took the chance.
“I guess it’s true what they say…Timing is everything.”
He nods, “And lucky for us, I’m a very patient man.”
You smile, with a quirked brow, “Lucky indeed.” He laughs, his grin full of nothing but admiration and contentment as he leans closer to you across the table. You hadn’t even realized you’d been doing the same, your elbows on the table as you unconsciously wanted to get closer than you already were. Your knees brush, but neither of you move away. In fact, Bucky scoots his chair in closer. Your tongue slips past your lips so quickly you don’t even register it as you wet your lips. You grab your glass, raising it before you and he does the same with his own.
“To my luck?” he asks, lips still curved in his perfect smile.
“And to your patience,” you add, your own soft smile gracing your face as you look into his brilliant blue gaze, hoping he can see the thankfulness you feel for him there.
“To your yes.”
“To the first first date ever that I haven’t wanted to run out on,” you joke.
You lightly clink your glasses, both of you sipping from your drink.
He shrugs as you take another drink from your glass, “Though, the night is young,” he muses.
You sputter on the liquid as you laugh into your glass, earning a similar laugh from Bucky.
You smile through your cough as you look at him again, wiping at the liquid on your chin. His gaze as warm and mirthful as ever.
Yeah, you think. He’s worth the risk.

After a long debate with yourself over whether or not you want to walk to the bathroom in just your tee shirt and panties you decide to make a run for it so you can wash up and change all at once.
With that decision, you open your bedroom door and step into the hall, about to walk to the bathroom when it’s door opens.
Bucky freezes in the doorway when he sees you, his eyes running down the length of your body.
“Mornin’ doll,” he says before clearing his throat. “Sleep ok?”
His long hair is curled around his ears, still wet and sending droplets of water dripping onto his bare shoulders that converge into a glistening trail down his naked chest, zigzagging through his sculpted abdominals before disappearing beneath the waistband of his jeans.
Jeans that hang low enough to reveal the defined V-cut of his hips.
He raises his arm, towel in hand, and starts to dry his hair, drawing your eyes to his flexing bicep.
“UGH!”
You push him out of the way and slam the bathroom door behind you.
“Guess that’s a no,” he mutters before walking back into the living room.
Once you’re washed up and you’ve used the bathroom you stomp back out, having forgotten all about changing.
You walk over to him and shove his glasses at his chest, hard. “You forgot these in the bathroom.”
“Doll?” Bucky asks in confusion.
“You’re over here, using my shower, walking around like that,” you mutter as you clang angrily around the kitchen.
“Did I miss something?” he asks from the doorway.
“Put a shirt on Bucky,” you snap, keeping your back to him.
“Only if you put on some shorts and a bra doll face,” he replies with a chuckle.
You suddenly go still, remembering you’re only wearing your panties under your oversized tee. Whirling around with the intention to slip past him, you glower but when you reach the doorway he blocks your path, maneuvering you against the wall.
He raises an arm above your head and leans in, the clean scent of your shampoo in his hair. Your eyes travel over his skin appreciatively and when you meet his gaze you find him staring down at your legs. Your thighs rub together instinctively and he lets out a grunt filled with desire.
You try to unjumble your thoughts, the tiny rational part of your brain yelling at you to run.
But everything else is too loud.
“Bucky?” you breathe out and your eyes fall to his mouth.
He lifts his other hand and gently brushes his thumb along the curve of your jaw, in the process bringing your face closer to his. Goose bumps erupt across your skin at the scrape of his calluses and your mind fills with thoughts of how those hands would feel on the rest of your body.
You breathe out his name once more as his head dips, his lips just brushing along yours when the doorbell rings.
With a muttered curse, he retreats, his eyes filled with the promise that this isn’t over.
“I’ll get it,” you squeak.
He catches you by the arm to stop you.
“I’ll get it doll face,” he rumbles, letting his eyes sweep down your body. “No way I’m lettin’ anyone else see you like this.”
You nod with wide eyes and hurry back to your bedroom, quickly glancing back to watch as he lifts his shirt over his head and shoves his glasses onto his face.
Tumblr media
“Who was it?” you ask when you return, now dressed in leggings and a new shirt.
“The landlord,” he answers. “My water should be fixed by five.”
“Ok, great,” you say with far too much cheer. “Coffee?”
“Sure, thanks doll,” he says as he takes the hair tie from his wrist and secures his hair at the base of his neck in a small bun.
You stare for a moment too long before looking away and trying to focus on making the coffee.
A few minutes later you walk into your small living room, mugs in hand and sit next to him on the couch. You place the steaming coffee down on the small table and snuggle into his side.
“Thanks again,” he says.
“For what?”
“For letting me crash here and take a shower.”
“Of course,” you tell him. “I’m just glad one of us has working water to use. It seems like everything goes wrong all at once in this building.”
Your gazes hold for a second before he reaches for his coffee. When he sits back you lean into him again.
“There’s a whole lotta couch ya know doll,” he teases.
“You’re warm and you smell nice,” you pout even as you push yourself away from him.
He goes to reach for you so he can tuck you back against him but unfortunately during all the shifting you manage to spill a spot of your coffee on his shirt.
“OH MY GOD,” you screech as you plop your coffee back on the table, spilling more, before you grab his shirt and pull it away from his body. “I’m sorry! Are you ok?”
He carefully places his coffee mug down and gives you a lopsided smirk.
“Pretty sure that was my fault,” he says sheepishly. “And I’m fine doll. Don’t worry.”
Your fingers slip higher and you lift the wet fabric, searching his skin for any redness.
His stomach muscles flex under your touch.
“Are you sure?” you whisper, finally dragging your eyes away from his skin.
“I’m sure,” he replies, his voice gruff.
Suddenly, the air feels too thick and the feel of him under your fingers, the heat from his body and the way his eyes shine with desire makes it hard to breathe.
You lick your lips, needing to kiss him.
His head dips to yours as you move upward and then his mouth is on you, frantic and hungry.
Strong arms circle around you, his hands splayed over your back as he pulls you closer until you’re straddling him.
You roll your hips against him, feeling how much he wants you. Your hands dance along his chest and reach behind his head to tug his hair free of the tie, letting it spill out around his face before you slide your fingers through the silky strands. His glasses go askew and he pulls away just fast enough to rip them off and drop them on the couch.
His large hands smooth down to your waist to grip your hips and you feel the pressure of him holding you down as you grind over him again and again. Tightening his hold, he lifts his hips, increasing the pressure.
With every roll of your hips you grow needier and his grip turns bruising.
“I need to come Bucky,” you murmur against his lips.
He growls your name, and then kisses you again, keeping your hips in constant motion over the hardness between his legs.
“Fuck,” he grunts, his cheeks flushed.
“Please,” you whine, your fingernails digging into his skin. “I need you. I need you inside m…”
Ding Dong
“You have to be fucking kidding me,” he growls.
You’re still seated in his lap, your heavy breathing the only sound when the bell buzzes again.
“Don’t move,” he commands as he gently lifts you up.
He adjusts himself in his jeans and grabs his glasses, pushing them up and over his nose. With one last longing glance he starts to walk toward the door.
“Bucky wait!” you call quietly.
He stops and looks back as you hop off the couch and go to him. You press your body along his and reach up to fix his hair and adjust his glasses.
“There…,” you say. “Your hair was a bit mussed and your glasses were crooked.”
“Thanks,” he says with a grin then grabs you around the waist, presses you so close that feel every inch of him and kisses you until you’re breathless.
Third buzz of the bell.
He stomps away and opens the door with too much force, making you giggle. Then you hear him saying a lot of “uh huh, ok, that’s fine, yeah, yeah,” and then the door slams shut and the lock clicks.
“Was that the landlord again?” you ask as he stalks toward you.
He nods but doesn’t elaborate and when you open your mouth to ask more questions he presses a long finger against your lips.
“It’s fine,” he says. “Now…”
He starts walking you backward toward the couch and sits, pulling you down over his lap.
“Where were we?” he murmurs with a whisper of his lips along yours.

Bucky had waited seven months for this opportunity-
The opportunity to have you staring up at him wide-eyed, cold and warm hands holding your cheeks as yours clasped the front of his shirt- waiting to see what he was going to do.
He was so calm, half a smile playing on his lips as your heart thundered away in your rib cage from the burning stare of his denim blues.
“I-“ you swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as a breath of a laugh passed his lips.
“C’mon, darlin’. You can’t tell me there aren’t men lined up for you.” He chuckled, thumb brushing the tip of your nose.
“I’ve never- I’m not to experienced in that department.”
“I knew that, sweetheart. Doesn’t mean there aren’t ones who’ve tried. You’re so sweet and pure- I’d hate to see someone else have you.” He murmured, head barely tilting to the side.
All you could think about was the brisk kiss he’d given you just moments before and the unfamiliar feeling that twisted in your lower belly.
Embarrassment burned your cheeks and you moved your hands when you became over aware of where they’d been. “You’re the only one who’s ever-“ you chewed the inside of your cheek, attempting to hide the fidget of your hands. “Can you do it again?”
Bucky didn’t hesitate. His lips carefully nipping yours, taking it slow before they covered your fully, pillow soft and gentle as you tried to mimic his movements.
You were a dream to him.
So sweet and pure- he wanted to keep you sheltered from a cruel world that would tear away the innocent glint in your eyes.
Smiles and laughs soaked in naivety, kindness that flooded his heart with warmth every time you’d bring baked goods to him in return for his help mowing or raking your lawn. It was angelic to see such a thing and have it in his reach, a purity that he wanted nothing more than to ruin.
He just had to have you before anyone else could.
Your breath was stuck in your lungs, flutters erupting in your chest as your fingers found their way back to the soft cotton of his shirt. The gentle scratch of his facial hair sent a shiver up your spine and made your thighs press together.
Bucky let out a content hum, pulling your body impossibly closer to his and letting his hands wander every curve and dip.
Heat pooled in your lower belly, the new feeling making you whimper when he gently tugged your bottom lip between his teeth. Hands carefully massaging your waist.
“Doin’ perfect, angel.” You squirmed against him when his hand slipped up to caress your chest. A soft groan pulling from his throat as he shifted his hips to press the bulge in his jeans against you. “Tell me to stop at anytime, I swear I will.”
You nodded, squeezing the fabric of his shirt in your fists as he finally took his gloves off to slip his hands under your blouse.
This was something Bucky had thought over a million times in the privacy of his room-
How he would take his time and slowly work you up, how soft your thighs looked in the dresses you wore in the summer and the way they’d feel trembling and closing in on his head if he buried his face between them. How the delicate skin of your neck would feel against his lips or gently bitten between his teeth as he pulled you apart.
Pulling himself from his thoughts and back to reality, Bucky hoisted you to his waist. A shocked gasp tearing from your chest as your hands fumbled to hold his shoulders.
“I’ve got you, darlin’. Don’t need to be doing all this against a counter.” He chuckled, going to the door he remembered being your bedroom.
The excited twist only grew when your back was against your plush mattress, watching Bucky press your knees apart to slot his sturdy frame between your thighs. Featherlight kisses trailing along the column of your throat and jaw and fingers working at the button of your jeans.
“Are you sure about this? I have no clue what I’m doing.” You fumbled out as he started to guide your pants down your legs.
“Don’t worry about all that, let me take care of you, baby.” He assured as you kicked the fabric the rest of the way off.
Your head was already spinning from the feel of his calloused and smooth metal fingers against your skin. A deep ache setting in that made you feel antsy as he shed his own clothing, darkened blues staring up at your eager eyes as he settled lower on the mattress and pressed a tender kiss to the inside of your thigh.
Every bit of air was sucked from your lungs when his tongue pressed flat to your folds, licking a stripe to your clit before his lips wrapped around the sensitive nub. A deep groan pulling from his throat as he nuzzled his face closer, gently sucking and flicking his tongue over it as your legs threatened to close in on his head.
The sweet sounds that poured from your lips urged him to keep going, forearm over your mouth to muffle the sounds he craved.
Pulling away briefly, Bucky placed another kiss to your thigh. “Lemme hear you, angel. Don’ need to keep quiet.”
Taking a shaky breath, your fingers curled into the sheet under you. Head tipping back in a drawn out whine when his mouth wrapped around your clit again, skillful tongue twisting and sliding through your folds and scratch of his stubble rough against the delicate skin.
The pressure in your belly started to bubble over, back arching from the mattress as a gentle shake of his head sent you over the edge. A soft cry of his name making his cock twitch against the mattress as he worked you through the after glow.
You whimpered when he moved away, eyes peaking open to see his tongue swipe across his slick coated lips. A sinful smile tugging the corners of his mouth.
“You okay?” His quiet tone tore through the dull ring in your ears as you nodded. “Wanna stop?”
A quick shake of your head made him chuckle, calloused hand gliding up your thigh and to your cunt. “Jus’ gotta warm you up- alright?”
“Okay,”
Bucky still couldn’t wrap his head around the events unfolding before him- his dream coming true as he pressed a finger into your clenching walls; another soft moan echoing in his brain as he watched your expressions. Eyes closed, hips squirming against the rhythm of his finger when he found the spongey spot just inside your cunt.
The one he wished to ruin and turn into his personal wet dream coating his fingers in arousal as he added another long digit.
“Bucky-“ the drawn out whine made his eyes shut softly, lips latching to the spot just under your ear to suck a mark to the skin.
“Almost ready, darlin’. Jus’ need one more.” You we’re so responsive to his touch- so sensitive. Your body tensing and hands reaching out for him as he stroked your velvety walls, another wave of pleasure washing over you. “There we go. Can you take another for me?”
You nodded, eyes still squeezed shut and chest heaving as his bulbous tip tapped against your swollen clit. Your body jumping from the sudden jolts that ran down your legs. “I’ll be gentle, I swear. If you want to stop, just tell me.”
“Keep going-“ you breathed out, peeling your heavy lids open.
He was something out of a movie or magazine, smooth skin mashed with sleek metal taut over perfectly sculpted muscles that flexed and relaxed with every movement he made.
“I’ll always take care of you, angel.” He murmured, body bending over yours as his hand went down to guide himself. Lips slotting over yours to swallow the whimpers and whines.
It was a painful stretch, every short, languid thrust pushing him deeper and replacing the sting with overwhelming pleasure.
Your arms went around his shoulders, fingers lacing in the short hair at the back of his head. A whine of his name sending a chill rolling down his spine.
Bucky was tentative of picking up the pace, the shake of your thighs uncontrollable from the newfound feeling surging through you. Warmth slowly starting to sprout on your skin again as he propped himself up on his forearm, bionic arm whirring quietly in your ear and dog tags cold against your heated skin.
“Fuck- tight cunt is gonna make me come-“ he choked out, deep moans filling your ears. The drag of his cock cresting the pleasure higher and higher until fire ran through your veins. Your lips bit into your mouth and eyes screwed shut.
This one hit harder than the others before, blanking your mind as his name fell freely into the thick air in a jumbled chant. Slurred profanities tumbling from his lips as he pulled out, metal thumb pressing sloppy circles to your clit as he fisted over himself, working you through the euphoric orgasm as his head tipped back. Straining his guttural moans as he spilled into your lower abdomen. Coating the skin in spurts of his spend.
Breathing heavy and skin coated in a thin layer of sweat, Bucky looked you over. Blissed out and body still twitching from the aftershocks as he leaned to pepper kisses to the corners of your mouth and cheeks.
“C’mon, darlin’. Open em up.” He cooed, your skin even more sensitive to his touch as his fingers ghosted along the outside of your thigh. Eyes barely peeking open. “You doing alright?”
“Wonderful…” you breathed out, pleasure drunk smile spreading on your features as he chuckled.
“Let’s get you cleaned up, baby.”
