It's the final match of the second round! We're moving into the quarter-finals, and one of these ladies will be the final contestant. Fractured Milla already got voted out, but can her Prime counterpart succeed where she failed? Nephry, though, has a lifetime of dealing with Jade as an older brother, so she's used to stressful situations.

TotA role swap AU Nephry aka Osborne aka Nephry the Solemn aka Jade’s original in this hecking AU. Despite technically having switched with Asch, her personality is relatively the same as her canon one since i’m also using her as a semi-Tear swap too, and I just need Nephry and Jade to be good sibs let me live alright.

Originally Jade Curtiss, Nephry was kidnapped at the age of 10, replicated (hi Jade) and then recruited by Nebilim into the Oracle Knights and taught the fonic hymns passed down through Yulia’s lineage once Nephry realized she was no longer wanted at home now that Jade was there.

She eventually rose to the rank of God-General and was nicknamed Nephry the Solemn. After discovering Nebilim’s true intentions with the Outerlands, she takes a leave of absence from the Oracle Knights and adopts the alias of Osborne and a more androgynous appearance (and never corrects any of them on her gender on purpose) to disguise herself. She searches and is reunited with her original and joins his party in attempting to stop the war and stop Nebilim.

Her relationship with Jade goes from being much like Luke and Tear’s in canon to a very close sibling relationship. The two discover how to communicate telepathically, especially after the fall of Akzeriuth, where Nephry acts like Asch does in canon as his pseudo-replacement and allows Jade to watch the group’s progress while he’s asleep (Luke is the one who stays with him, and Asch takes his place). She goes through a Tear-esque character development idk how else to put that honestly like y’all get what i mean i hope.

ALSO IT”S important to note that Nephry is a trans woman in this. It’s the main reason she adopted the name Nephry instead of a new masculine name (because of her noble status, stuff like this was frowned upon and could cause issues with her arranged marriage, future succession to the throne once the marriage goes through, and her position in the family whatsoever. she hid it from everyone).

The first person to figure out her identity as Jade’s original is Luke, and they have a talk about it. I even wrote a fic. I’ll be posting it later with a few panels of it drawn heck yeah.
