My Favorite Music in TV moments
These moments were so moving and iconic alone, but the addition of music pushed them into the longterm memory part of my brain. Then later, these songs got added to my playlists. We all have our music moments that stick in our minds like Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol in Grey's Anatomy and Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush in Stranger Things. When I think of these songs I think of these moments and vice versa. These are the ones that came to me:
Friends by Laundry Day in Netflix's On My Block (2018)
youtube
"We got so caught up" This song always comes in mind in the moment I realize how much I've grown up and changed so much from who I thought I was. It's so easy to get caught up in who you think you should be and in the life you're living.
2. No Air by Jordin Sparks in the CW's The Game
The song itself is so iconic that the moment the instrumental starts playing you can feel the air get sucked out of the room along with the news. It just makes an already emotionally suckerpunch moment that much more intense. Also, the duet with Chris Brown echoes the relationship themes between Melanie and Derwin.
3. Heatwaves by Glass Animals in Netflix's Never Have I Ever (2020)
youtube
Anyone who was into this show in any way was captivated by this scene. Aside from the emotive lighting, the drenched Paxton, and this entire scene being a complete surprise tucked away at the end of the episode: the music is what really makes it what it is. The little drum beat drop before they kissed! The slow tentative kiss! The exit stage right!! It was toooo perfect.
4. Green Light by Lorde in Fox's New Girl (2011)
youtube
Whoever made this decision deserves a kiss... or something else that would make them feel loved and happy because this is just such a fantastic choice for Nick and Jess. After 6 seasons of these two sticking mugs out for eachother literally and figuratively, the whirlwind dies down and they are just together.
5. Dreams by The Cranberries in Netflix's Derry Girls (2018)
youtube
This isn't the only time the show uses the song, but it's an example of how the song is used to recall the kid-like dreams we all used to have. The soothing voice of the singer of the Cranberries sounds so sweet, but also tentative, like how it feels to be a teenager. The whole thing is so nostalgic to see the characters, their families, their world, their dreams, that every time they play the song it feels like that carefree vibe of hanging out with friends even though there's so much uncertainty and tragedy around. It's a perfect song choice for these moments we see of the Derry Girls.
That's all. I might do another one with movies or something but we'll see. Feel free to comment your own favorite moments if you feel called to!

Lyrics:
Decisions as I go, to anywhere I flow.
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational.
I can fly high, I can go low.
Today I got a million,
Tomorrow, I don't know.
Decisions as I go, to anywhere I flow.
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational.
I can fly high, I can go low.
Today I got a million, Tomorrow, I don't know.
Stop claiming what you own and think about the show.
We're all playing the same game, waiting on our loan.
We're unknown and known, special and a clone.
Hate will make you cautious, love will make you glow.
Make me feel the warmth
make me feel the cold
It's written in our story
it's written on the walls
This is our call, we rise and we fall
Dancin' in the moonlight,
don't we have it all?
Decisions as I go, to anywhere I flow.
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational.
I can fly high, I can go low.
Today I got a million,
Tomorrow, I don't know.
Songwriter:
Make me feel the warmth,
make me feel the cold.
It's written in our story,
it's written on the walls
This is our call, we rise and we fall.
Dancin' in the moonlight
don't we have it all?

anyone just think in different fonts?Like idk if i can describe this in a way people would understand but whatever. So imagine all of your thoughts are in one font usually.I'd say my thoughts are usually in a font adjacent to comic sans(its more sharp than comic sans but not a sans seriff ig,its like a inbetween of comic sans and kumbh sans),my thoughts are also all in pink.(i hope this makes sense so far.) But recently I've also been having thoughts in comic sans proper, and they're in blue, like a light maganese blue color. They arent all the time. The blue thoughts also can feel differently that i usually would, for example I wasnt excited for the new normal getting on spotify,i dont like alot of my music when im having them(blue thought mode does not like will wood and amigo the devi :[),i got pretty sad at seeing a character who died in relation to the character i fictionkin(for reference Radford).I also dont remember the blue thoughts,i remember the feelings associated with them but i dont remember them, like the other day i was going to type something(in blue thought mode at the time),i started typing it then i check something else and come back less than a minute later, now in pink thought mode, and i dont remember what i was gonna type at all.I still cant remember no matter how hard i try to,then again i havent been in blue thought mode since.
Also alot of the time while in blue thought mode i feel less emotion ig,if that makes sense.I dont remember blue thought mode stuff ,except the emotions.
Idk if this makes any sense but i just figured i get this out there :\

from the ship asks! for Anitha x Griffin: 34 + 35 for Harshith x Aurora: 92 + 73 for Tanya x Flynn: 46 for Ria x Maria: 71
thank you 💐 (i know i know, it’s a lot!! don’t feel obligated to answer everything if its just far too much!!)
Thank you soo much for these asks @choicesmc . I am eager to give answers to all of them.
Asks list here
For Anitha x Griffin:
34. who takes longer to understand a joke or reference?
I would say it depends on what the joke or the reference is. Griffin is new to attuneless traditions and references, he might miss a joke that Anitha says on the fly. One of them is the mistletoe instance in Winters Past, where Griffin didn't understand the whole 'kissing under the mistletoe' thing.
On the other hand, Anitha still has to learn a lot of the attuned world outside Penderghast, and is still excited on learning about the attuned references.
35. who hides in the other’s arms during a horror movie?
Though Anitha is not really afraid of horror movies, she sometimes pretends to get scared, just to bury herself in Griffin's arms, and feel his warmth.
For Tanya x Flynn
46. what do they do on vacation?
During active vacations, Flynn takes Tanya to the small towns surrounding Birchport, to explore the ambiance of a different place. Or if its a lazy weekend, they both like to take their blankets up onto the roof of Flynn's boathouse and either play some music, or simply do some stargazing.
For Harshith x Aurora
73. what was their first kiss like?
Okay, so their first kiss happens post Harshith's chemical attack in book 2. Until the moment Harshith came out of the hospital room, Aurora has been on her toes about whether he would be alright or not, and the anxiety had kept her working the whole night to find the cure for him. When Harshith got settled in his room, Aurora wanted to check on him one more time before going back to Mass Kenmore, and instinctively she pulled him close and gave him a huge hug. Harshith asks softly, 'Is this just friendship Aurora, or is it something more?' In response to that, Aurora brings him closer and gives him a long kiss. Before leaving the room, she says 'Does that answer your question?'
92. soulmates!au. how are they connected? do they have matching tattoos, names written on them, etc.
In an au, maybe they would be academic rivals in the same school, competing for who gets the best grades, proficiency in their extracurriculars and for the valedictorian title. Their romance would be the kind of Ben + Devi kind (from Never Have I Ever). They realize their feelings for each other only a few days before graduation, and before they both leave for their respective colleges they each get a tattoo of half an infinity symbol on both their hands so that they never let go of each other. (Im sorry if this is bad! This is my first time trying an au and the concept is a little out o place)
For Ria x Maria
71. What does their future look like?
So according to canon, Maria attends Terman U after graduating from Berry High, but nothing is specified about what she ends up doing. So according to my HC, Maria either does a Business major or a Political Science major, which I have not decided on yet.
As for Ria, till her senior year she was convinced that she should take up a music major, but then realized that her heart wasn't much into making music her profession. She loved writing poetry and fiction, and eventually she does an English Major at NYU. She and Maria maintain a long distance relationship till Maria moves to New York after her graduation.
They take some time to get settled with their respective careers and lifestyles, and finally after 8 years of being in a relationship, Maria proposes marriage.
I HC that they end up living in a cozy apartment with 2 cats and a hamster. Eventually, they adopt a 5 year-old girl named Andrea.

Let me show you... Youtube - chapter 5
I did an extra long chapter today, sine I was not able to do one long yesterday. And I got a little carried away...
Warning : no proof reading.
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
Victoria was -yet again- in her corridor, using some newspaper as a rag to clean the window to copy the tutorial she saw on Youtube. She should tell Yuu about this trick, it isn’t a bad one when you don’t have a clean rag… [I miss my earphones… I could blast music and continue this work without being so bored. Tonight I will buy one at Mister S mystery shop].
While she wondered about how to make the cleaning more exciting, she didn’t feel it but she was observed by 2 men. One was wearing a black and white fur coat while the other was wearing a bright red track suit, enhancing his muscles. Crewel and Vargas were very intrigued by that woman. There weren’t a lot of women in NRC, so having a woman janitor was… Odd to say the least.
Crewel spoke first. “She shouldn’t be doing chores without at least gloves… That damned bird.”
Vargas laughed. “Well she doesn’t mind a bit of elbow grease and doing chores from what we can see.”
Under their gazes, Victoria was in a deep brawl with the curtains. “Get… Off.. Me !!! You miscreant !!! You’re lucky you’re already hanged !”
Both men laughed at the lady before going back to their respective room. She was very amusing to watch, too focused on her tasks to mind all the stares from students going out of their classes.
Victoria won against the curtain. She was full of dust but she did it !!! She dusted the old wall hanging, freeing it from moths and spiders.
“It would be complete with a spritz with lavender… Where can I find that?” [The hot alchemy teacher should have it in his pantry.]
She asked a student. “Excuse me, could you lead me to the teacher lounge ?”
The student accepted the mission and led her to the said teacher room.
She thanked him and knocked. “Excuse me, I need help with something…”
Trein opened the door. “Well, we meet again Mrs Devi.”
Victoria had a huge smile while Lucius mewed. “Professor Trein ! Lucius ! I am happy to see you again ! I am in a pinch… I would like to have some lavender extract.”
Trein mused a few seconds before answering “I think the best person to help you would be Professor Crewel.”
He called out. “Professor Crewel ?”
The said professor turned his head “Yes ?”
Trein asked. “Mrs Devi needs an ingredient. Help her find it.”
Crewel sighed at the order and mumbled. “Mrs Devi ? The janitor ?”
Victoria fluttered her eyes [Too BEAUTIFUL. Are they all hot in here or what ? Was it a selection criteria for this school ? I mean… The FACE, the BODY, the VOICE, aaaaaah.]
He smiled at her and stopped in front of her. “What can I do for you, Mrs Devi ?”
[They like my name here or what ?] thought Victoria, being called by her family name more in a day than in her teaching career. It was usually either ‘Mrs’ or ‘professor’.
She smiled at the new beautiful man in front of her. “Hi, I would like some lavender extract or oil for an anti moth spray.”
Crewel blinked. “An anti… Moth spray ? Did I hear you correctly ?”
Victoria was dumbfounded “Did you not see all the moths there are in the curtains ?? I mean, there are literal HOLES in it. Lavender is good for repelling moths and various insects. It won’t replace a good wash but I make do with what I can…”
Crewel laughed gently. “Ok, I understand, let’s go to the lab.”
And they set off.
Once in the alchemy lab, Victoria touched everything she could with her eyes. The big cauldrons, the test tubes, the heat… Everything was new and so cool in her eyes.
“So cool…” Said Victoria, without thinking.
Crewel shrugged and searched in his pantry “Isn’t it ? Do you have alchemy where you are from ?”
Victoria answered a simple “No, my world is pretty boring… We just have chemistry and physico-chemistry.”
Crewel frowned “So you do everything without magic ?”
Victoria bent to look at a cauldron inside a cheminee “Yeah, we do with what we can.. We still have cars and planes, of course.”
Crewel smiled “That’s quite impressive. How did you learn about the properties of lavender ?”
Victoria answered without thinking. “Insomnia in front of YouTube.”
Crewel looked at her in the eyes, wondering. “YouTube ? Like WeTube ?”
At this moment, inside Victoria’s head was the communist Bugs Bunny meme  with the communist anthem.
“May… be ?” She answered unsure.
Once they concocted the spray -bottle on loan from Crewel- she went off to her curtains.
She was spritzing the concoction when she heard a loud noise.
She sighed. [The chandelier met his doomed fate… R.I.P. chandelier, you were beautiful in your prime. Tonight will be without Yuu then.]
She finished her work for the day, deciding to continue her hunt for moths the day after. She will win.
She went to Sam’s shop with a spring in her steps. Time to meet another hot guy !
When she was inside of the shop, she was mesmerized. [How could there be so many things ? It is bigger inside like a TARDIS !!]
She was stopped in her thoughts by a musical voice. “Hello Mrs Devi, what can I do for you ?”
Victoria feigned a surprise “Oh my you already know my name ? Did my reputation precede me ? And who might you be ?”
Sam snickered  “Well my name is Sam, the owner of this shop ! And my dear imp, it is my friend on the other side that told me everything. From your arrival to your fight with the curtains.”
Victoria knew, but shivered nonetheless. “I don’t want to be on your ‘friends’ bad side… I fear I might disappear.”
Sam just smiled “Well, we will never know, right ? What can I do for you ? Do you want an amulet for protection ? A lovely cursed lamp ? Some snacks ?”
[Wow, that’s a wild ride…]
She answered with her grocery list. Hand soap, tuna, dish soap, pasta, rice, first aid kit,... Even ordering a washing machine for the dorm.
“How will you pay ?” Asked Sam, after packing everything with the washing machine voucher.
Victoria took out her credit card “With this ? I think we can activate her by buying something from a shop ?”
Sam’s eyes widened “Wow, a gold PyrEx ? You are quite loaded for a janitor.”
She read the name of the bank ‘Pyroxene Express Bank’.
So pyrex wasn’t the name of a chemical material but also the name of an AmEx type of card ? Damn, chance makes good.
She put her card in the monitor and typed the pin number, hoping that it would pass. Her prayer was heard and she was happy when she saw the “payment accepted” on the machine.
She took her stuff and went back to the dorm. She was cleaning the copper pots and pans with ketchup when Yuu and Grim came back, dejected.
“What is happening, Sweetie ?” asked Victoria, having a rough idea of the problem.
Yuu cried “We need to search for a new stone mage or else we will be expelled from school. All because of Grim and this Ace guy.”
Victoria knew and yet was angry. She never liked Ace in the game, he was too cocky for her taste. #sorrynotsorrytho.
She let the pans and pots rest in water to join Yuu. “Honey, that’s terrible… How are you going to do that ?”
Grim answered. “We need to go to this old mine to find the stone. It is going to be a great proof of my talent and my hench-human will work under my supervision !”
Victoria sighed. “You know Grim, a great leader would work with their underlings. Not letting them do all the work.”
Grim short circuited at the sentence. “Whaaaat ??”
Victoria squeezed the Child’s hand. “It will be hard but I have every faith in you. Think of it like a quest. Think calmly about the problem, everything will be alright. You just need to trust your gust, both of you.”
Yuu nodded. Grim was still under the shock of Victoria’s revelation.
Yuu asked. “Why are you cleaning the pots and pans with ketchup ?”
Victoria answered with a simple. “YouTube.”
After Yuu had calmed down, Victoria winged some pastas so they wouldn’t go on their quest with an empty stomach.
Victoria sent them off, promising she will wait for them before going to sleep.
While they were away, Victoria checked the mail and her phone. She had a text from Disney. “As promised, you will find your medical treatment in the mail and will be sent to you each month.
Kind regards,
Disney.”
At least she wouldn’t have to worry about that…
She found the parcel in the mail and when she opened it, there were her meds. There also was a letter addressed to her from the Pyroxene Express Bank. She opened it and found her bank ID to consult her bank account.
She sat on the couch and looked it up.
“Credit account : 3 521 madols.
Saving account : 433 900 madols.
Being transferred : 50 000 madols.”
So. It meant multiple things :
1 madol = 1 euro,
her mortgage was refund,
she still was loaded from the sale of her patent.
companies were still purchasing the right to use the said patent.
She was rejoiced. At least they wouldn’t have to worry about money. She would take care of the three of them. She needed to protect them like she could, after all, they will save the school multiple times from overblot…

The list, Q1
When I completed my christmas calendar in December I made a list of (for me) new series I'd like to watch in 2024. This is what I've got so far:
Griselda
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
This was mine and my boyfriend's mutual project. We don't really have the same taste in series, but sometimes they overlap. Like, when it both have drugs, murders and Sofia Vergara. This one's really Sofia in her prime, she does an amazing job portraying the strong, targeted drug queen of Miami. Highly recommend!
------
Heartbreak High
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩🦩
This has come up as a sugestion for me for a long time, since it's in my absolute most common genre; teenage dramas with queer elements. That also comes with some high expectations when I finally get around to watch it. Heartbreak High mostly lives up to this, there's a lot of well developed characters and a story that reminds me a lot of Sex Education. I'm looking forward to how season 2 (drops April 11th) will develop the story. And yes, Quinni is the best!
------
The Unlisted
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩🦩
This was practically all my childhood nightmares come to life and I was so hooked by the ever thrilling story. I sat in angst cheering so hard for the kids to succeed with their mission. Looses one flamingo mostly because it ended with a cliffhanger and then got canceled.
------
One Day
(Netflix)
🦩🦩
First and foremost, I do have a big problem with these kind of stories. It concists of building up a lot of hope, just to tear it down by the end. I don't really see the fascination in that. But I did mostly like the movie from 2011 and therefore it felt obvious I should check this out. I really liked the production, the environments and the overall look of it. But I was not that impressed by the actors', more specifically the leads', performance. Big bonus for Essie Davis as Alison though, would love to see more of her.
------
Never have I ever
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩
This is also a series that's been lying around in my list, waiting to be seen, for a while. I can't say it entirely lived up to my expectations, but it definitely has its highlights and insights. I like the comedy-drama-mix, cultural representation and the adults. But I'm having trouble with a lot of Devi's personality and how they handle queer representation. From time to time I mostly found it a bit boring.
------
Everything now
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩🦩
This was HEAVY on so many levels, I had to watch this from time to time spread out over several weeks, mixed up with lighter stuff. But it was also SO good! Not having ED myself I can't say weither this was a good representation of it, but I really felt I got to be inside Mia's brain and understand anorexia a bit better. I liked how not everything was about that though, it was also just normal teenage life, because yeah, why shouldn't it? I also liked how everyone's sexuality was normalised.
------
My life with the Walter boys
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩
This was the kind of series that got me giggling, hiding behind a pillow several times. Not cringey, more like I really felt their feelings and cheered for them not to make bad decissions. It's a beutiful story and a bit like a teenage version of Chesapeake Shores meeting all Hallmark christmas movies. The queer representation leaves a lot to wish for. And I can't stop thinking about the fact that Jackie moves in to a family, directly sees some of them as siblings (Parker, for example) while she has no trouble falling in love with two others. Isn't that a bit...strange? What am I missing?
------
The White Lotus
(HBO)
🦩🦩🦩
My immidiate description of this series is; odd. It was not at all what I expected and I'm having trouble describing it at all. Is it good? Well, it's not bad..? There are definitely some amazing cast performances from i.e. Jennifer Coolidge, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Leo Woodall (I actually found him to be better here than in One day), Murray Bartlett and Jake Lacy. The constant background music is mostly just annoying, but otherwise the sets and production is great.
------
Smiley
(Netflix)
🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Don't even know how to start here, because I was kind of floored by this. I binged it all in one night and I changed between crying and laughing the whole time. It's a wonderful, cute, well-written, queer love story set in the city of my dreams (Barcelona). The agonising feelings of falling in love are so relatable and so are the challenges meet by friends and family. This is a slow burn, opposites-attract story for when you just want to feel good. Bring tissues!
------
Other highlights and rewatches:
Young Royals season 3; one of the best last episodes ever, even caught the eye of my very hesitant boyfriend.
Modern Family; when the world's in shambles - go back to comfort.
Blown away season 4; who knew a reality show about glasblowing would be this thrilling? I've saved the finally for a rainy day.
Young Sheldon season 7; last season is droping one episode a week. I'll sure miss this!
Glamorous; I was very sad to find out this was cancelled, but a rewatch still makes me happy!
XO, Kitty; I'm getting more impatient to hear what's next, give me season 2 now!
But, the biggest thing dropping during these first months was obviously;
Heartstopper season 3 will drop in October!!🍂
See you in June for the next report!

the lovers of aditha karikalan
Aditha, who I think is a perfect 10th century hero and the many people who might have encountered him.
the courtesan of Kanchi
The first time she had laid eyes on the crown prince, had been when he entered the city; seated on a white horse, hair tied into a half bun at the base of skull, armour engraved with tigers*. She had thrown flowers too; everyone was excited to see the crown prince, he was even more handsome in person.
The second time had been during a particularly cruel monsoon storm, when the Palar** was expected to break its banks any day.
The sky was grey, rain poured down in relentless sheets and Karikalan had been at the forefront of evacuating villages along with his soldiers into higher ground. He had found himself, along with his grandfather and friend, Parthibendra Pallavan at her doorstep.
He had addressed her, in a deep baritone that had her stunned for a second, “Devi, we apologise for the sudden intrusion but my companions and I find ourselves in need of shelter. We began our journey to the city too late.”
She bowed her head, suddenly shy in the presence of this towering man, “You are welcome to stay as long as you require Ilavarase.”
He had nodded his thanks, and followed her servants to the rooms that they had always kept for unexpected guests. They had left, early the next morning and she had watched him ride away from the balcony.
For a few nights after, she was haunted by dreams of running into a man in the rain. Both of them soaked to the bone under a tree in some forest,
his body against hers,
gasps of pleasure as he thrust into her,
his face buried in her neck, arms around her hips,
her nails running down a powerful back.
The next time he came around, he was unconscious. Parthibendran had carried him away from a distance battlefield, where he had collapsed after landing the final blow of victory. He had his head on her lap while the physician had closed his wounds, his anguished screams muffled into her thighs as she held his arms down.
“I suggest he stays here for a few days, until the fever subsides,” the physician had said.
They spoke, for the first time at length while she had helped with his bandages, and he had laughed his booming laugh, looking at her with eyes that sparkled with so much mirth that her breath left her for a moment.
For weeks after, gifts flowed into her house; precious gems, exotic perfumes, soft silks.
He came by frequently too, late into the night, ‘to listen to her sweet music to calm his nerves.’
To look, to listen, to speak, never to touch.
But he knew he was trapping her in his charms.
That half smirk when she won a game against him,
The way he caressed the veena which he played while she sang,
The fire in his eyes when she wore a gift he had sent.
The hitch in his breath, when she broke the rule once and had run her hand down his muscled arm while handing him the tamboola.
It was monsoon again, when they started playing new games. He had come by, drenched in the rain, having helped with the flood evacuations. She had pulled the armour off him, kissing away the droplets of water that were making their way down his body. Her hands on his powerful thighs, her mouth on the dip of his hip bones.
Hands in her hair, moans filling her ears.
She was pressed into the bed before she knew it, his mouth on her breasts, counting her ribs, biting into her waist, leaving marks on her thighs.
Thunder and lightning raged outside as she rose and fell in ecstasy.
She had languidly licked salty sweat off his shoulders and neck.
The last time she saw him, was the night his brother had disappeared.
He was agitated, his nightmares never ending, she had held him, soothed him.
News of the younger prince’s drowning had taken him from the warmth of her arms, to the cold embrace of death.
She refused to remember his nightmares, his anguished screams for his long-lost lover, the depths of despair of a man who chipped away at his own soul with each life he took.
She refused to remember the crown prince, dripping with ambition, unrestrained in his fury and straining at the noose of administrative bureaucracy.
She would remember her lover. His warm golden skin, gentle caressed by the sun.
His long hair that tangled with hers too often.
His calloused fingers that held spears with the same confidence with which he held her. His strong chest pressed into her, as she strained her hips in search of the beautiful friction of their bodies.
His body as much as weapon as his sword.
His kisses executed the same way he went about decimating the enemy.
His tongue, whip sharp and capable of leaving her a moaning mess in the matter of minutes. Aditha Karikalan, who loved with the same intensity with which he went to war.
---------------------------------------------------------
*the costume designers of Ponniyin Selvan mentioned how they put tigers for Karikalan and elephants for Arunmozhi, so much thought has gone into these details.
**I do not know if this river floods, or how close it is to Kanchi but this is fiction so I have suspended some of my own disbelief.

Memory of me 💚
Genre: Birthday oneshot
Ocs featured: Zenith Devi, Victoria Shard
Main tags: Birthday oneshot, fluff, small angst, platonic soulmates
Warning(s): Possible spoilers for Zen's full backstory, Malleus/j, where this takes place in the main story timeline is left ambiguous
[ Reblogs are recommended ]
{ Apologies for any out of character moments }
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zen was bored.
He didn't have much to do today, since he already cleared his schedule earlier. So really, he had nothing to do.
Other than head to the music room, of course.
He did what he usually did in rooms like that. Play a couple of instruments, discover an idea for a new song, write the song, and finalize the concept.
Rinse and repeat. There was nothing new about the hobby he dedicated himself to. He dabbled in poetry, but music was his passion. His lifeline.
Almost nothing was quite like it.
After playing the violin for the past 45 minutes, Zen sighed. He decided that he wanted to spend his birthday another way than waste his time in a music room.
So naturally, he got permission from his headmaster and was allowed to leave campus grounds to visit his home.
──ㅇ─────↻ ◁ II ▷ ↺───ㅇ────
Zen's smile was bright, eyes glimmering with glee as he was enthusiastically greeted by the servants at the house's entrance.
"It's great to have you back, master Zenith. Do you wish for us to speak to your father for a large celebratory event for your birthday?"
Zen paused and thought about it as he and the head butler were walking around the manor. He concluded and politely shook his head.
"No thanks. Dad's already busy being a marquess as it is, and I wouldn't want to stress him out with making everything picture perfect."
"But the marquess adores you, master. I'm sure he wouldn't mind."
His grin softened to nothing but a small smile. One that the head butler recognized all too well.
"It's fine. I promise. I don't need a big extravagant party to be happy on my birthday." He reassured them, placing a hand on their shoulder.
They sighed."You're truly just like your mother, master…" the old man huffed, an exasperated yet endeared smile on their face.
Zen's smile faltered at the mention of his mother. But that didn't stop it from quickly returning.
"Thanks…. May I visit her?"
The butler turned to them with a look. One that asked Zen if he was sure of his request.
To which Zen replied with only a nod and the softest smile he could muster up.
The butler pursed their lips and bowed."Of course, master. You may visit the marchioness's memorial whenever you want…" they spoke, quickly excusing themselves to fulfill a request from Zen's father, the marquess of Devi.
All of a sudden, Zen hummed softly, deciding to head to his personal gardens to pick some flowers for his mother.
After excusing the servants who were tending to the gardens, Zen began his search for the perfect flowers.
"Mother always liked dandelions, but they weren't her favorite…." He muttered, wandering around the garden while trying to remember what his mother's favorite flower was.
"Hmm…. I wonder…"
"I believe auntie's favorite flowers were the amaryllis, white and pink carnations, and gladiolus."
Zen yelped, about to punch the voice behind him before he stopped when gazing at the woman in front of him. One he cherished as much as his mother.
"Ah- Tori?"
Victoria's smile was pure, almost childlike. One no one in night raven college had ever seen.
Only Zen was able to see such a smile all the time.
In an instant, Victoria found herself in the middle of a tight and almost highly anticipated hug from her best friend. In response, she giggled and quickly hugged him back.
"Good to know you're happy about your birthday."
"Well duh! But I didn't think I was able to spend much time with you because of your busy schedule…"
Noticing the pout on his face, Victoria laughed in amusement, pulling Zen closer into their hug.
"Well, I managed to clear my schedule in time to spend the rest of the day with you."
Zen pulled away and cheered, even going as far as to do a little victory dance after what Victoria told him. It made her snort a bit.
"Pffft-"
"Hehe, anyway, I was looking for mom's favorite flowers…"
Victoria nodded."I see…. Well, I'll help you. Let's just hope your garden has the flowers we're looking for." She crossed her arms and her smile began to appear more playful.
Zen rolled his eyes, feeling equally as playful as his beloved 'sister'.
"Can't guarantee that, but one can only hope once they start looking!" He exclaimed, spinning around and continuing his search. Only this time Victoria was quickly trailing behind him.
──ㅇ─────↻ ◁ II ▷ ↺───ㅇ────
He groaned."WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT!!?"
Victoria deadpanned at his complaint."Well, it isn't your fault that this garden is unnecessarily large." She walked beside him, looking at the flowers on her side.
He narrowed his eyes, stealing a glance."Says the lady with three different rose mazes in one manor." He grumbled.
Victoria smirked."Sorry, what did you say? I couldn't hear you, so I'd prefer it if you said that in my good ear." She teased.
He stuck his tongue out at her, to which she raised her eyebrows in response."A bit childish, don't you think?"
He crossed his arms, looking away from her direction."Shut up…"
She snickered, "You know I was joking, Zen."
"I know, but I was still hurt to hear it!"
"Did it really?"
"Well- No-"
They continued their conversation, shifting topics left and right, not caring about what they were talking about.
Even if some of the servants returned to tend to the garden and sent them questionable looks about the topics they were discussing, they still managed to find the amaryllis and white and pink carnations they were looking for.
The only flower that was left was the gladiolus.
"I bet I could beat a ghost in a fight."
"I don't think that's how it works. They're a ghost, so why bother fighting it?"
"Hypothetically, I'd still win in a fight with a ghost."
"I think it would be better to just call auntie Yona with any spiritual issues."
"You're missing the point."
Before Victoria could counteract, she finally caught sight of the gladiolus they were looking for.
Zen beamed, running towards it at lightning speed. Victoria groaned and did her best to catch up to him, but it didn't help that she was in heels.
Not that she couldn't run in heels, she just found it repetitive.
After picking up a couple of flowers, they both settled into making two small bouquets. Any excess flowers were put in a couple of flower vases that were placed around the house.

When they eventually walked up to the doors that led to the memorial, Victoria noticed the hesitation in Zen's body when he was about to open the door.
She frowned, her expression softening at the sight of hidden fear in his eyes.
As Zen's hand was placed over one of the doorknobs, Victoria placed her hand on his as an act of reassurance.
Few words were exchanged between the two. The looks in each other's eyes were enough to have an hour-long conversation on its own.
The sincerity in Victoria's eyes, and the feeling of reassurance she had. It was enough for Zen to take a deep breath and quickly open the doors to the memorial.
His mother's memorial.
It was the equivalent of a small chapel. Yet it felt minimalistic as well. There was a delicate feeling in the architecture of the area like if you touched something for too long, everything could come crashing down on you.
They walked inside, wandering to look around before gazing upon the altar of the room that held the memorial of his mother.
Ekta Devi
Loving mother, beloved marchioness
Date of birth: ???
Date of death: February 14
"Always have a connection with others, and maybe find your true north."
Zen shut his eyes, feeling tears beginning to form. Mom…. Was what echoed in his mind. She's been gone for so long, yet it still felt so painful to gaze upon her memorial for too long.
It didn't help that his father kept her final resting place a secret. She didn't have a gravestone, and her funeral took place in this very room.
Victoria's heels clicked as she approached the altar. The sound of her heels caught Zen's attention and he slowly opened his eyes.
Now on her knees in front of the altar, Victoria's expression was filled with sadness and contempt when she placed the bouquet next to the memorial.
"Salutations, auntie. You might still find my way of speaking unusual…" she laughed to herself dryly, "You always said that I should strive to make more friends… But I don't know if I followed your advice."
Zen didn't speak, only listening to the words that escaped Victoria's lips before it was his turn to approach the altar and say a few words.
Hesitant, Victoria bit the inside of her lips before deciding to sit more casually in front of the altar. She placed her head on her hand, appearing bored.
Zen inched a little closer, curious as to what she was going to do.
"I wish you were still here… You'd have been more spontaneous with every celebration of me and Zen's birthdays."
Zen walked a little closer and was standing next to Victoria in front of his mother's memorial after a short time.
Feeling a little awkward, he placed his bouquet on the other side of the memorial. And finally sat down next to Victoria.
Victoria closed her mouth, turning to Zen, allowing him to let everything out. To say whatever he wanted to say.
It wasn't surprising that tears were already on the brink of falling down his face. Not in the slightest.
"H-Hi, mom…." Zen murmured, doing his best to hide his tears in front of the memorial.
"U-Um… Uh- It's my birthday today.." he said, hugging his legs.
"You might ask how dad's doing, so… I guess he's doing fine. But I don't think he's moved on from you…. I guess he meant it when he said 'till death do us part', huh?"
A bitter, sad laugh left his tongue. And his expression was that of a sad, little boy who hadn't moved on from his mother's death in fourteen years.
As a form of support, Victoria changed her sitting position so Zen could rest on her shoulder. Or on her lap. He chose to rest his head on her lap while still facing the memorial.
"I've been getting into music more than usual lately… You said I'm gonna make it big in the music industry, but I don't really know yet." Victoria smiled sadly at the memory.
And in due course, Zen finally allowed the tears to fall down his face. To let himself sob.
"I… I miss you so much, mom. I miss you, dad misses you, Tori misses you…" he sniffled, realizing it was becoming more difficult to fight back his tears.
"I…. Everyone misses you mom…" he sobbed, "I just wish you were here…."
Knowing it was best for him to let it all out, Victoria had Zen sit up and hugged him close, letting him cry on her shoulder. Even if she got some snot on her shoulder, that didn't matter.
What mattered, was seeing the comforting smile Zen had after letting it all out.
──ㅇ─────↻ ◁ II ▷ ↺───ㅇ────
They both continued talking in the memorial, telling Ekta everything they had been doing in the past few years or so. Relationships, friendships, familial drama, etc.
Until Victoria took something out of her pocket as they were about to leave.
Noticing the uncharacteristically cheeky smile on her face after he stood up, Zen squinted his eyes."What…" he questioned suspiciously.
She snorted."Remember when you said we'd get married when we were 5?" She giggled at the memory, whereas Zen pursed his lips and rolled his eyes jokingly.
"Well, clearly THAT didn't age well. You're going to marry Malleus anyway."
Victoria scoffed."Oh, hush now, Zen… Besides…"
Zen gasped loudly when Victoria dramatically went on one knee and revealed a box with a ring with sakura detailing on it with bits of diamonds around it.
Tumblr media
"Well then, Zenith Devi, will you 'marry' me? Just like we promised?"
He laughed, no, cackled. Bordering full-on wheezing when the question left her lips. It didn't help that she began laughing alongside him.
Quickly taking the ring from its box, Zen gave Victoria the most dramatic look he could muster up. Something similar to the actors from all those romance dramas they'd watch sometimes.
"Yes, Victoria Regina Amarantha Annabella Shard, I do~"
She snickered, standing up and placing the ring on his left hand. Which was where Zen noticed the ring on her right hand.
"What- Is that the promise ring I gave you?"
She held back laughing again."Pfft- Yes." she replied cheekily, "I wore it for today since it means so much to you."
"Hah, I guess we are married."
Victoria cackled as they both walked out of the chapel."I'd say we're officially 'engaged'."
Zen grinned, acting rather haughty and prideful."I'm gonna brag about this to everyone."
"Sure you will…"
"Well, no one can just get married to someone like you, Tori!"
"Oh hush."
"Nope~"
She giggled, kissing the top of his head with the soft smile he always managed to see every day.
"Happy birthday, Zen."

Since everyone else is doing it... Astoria by MT for Benvi: "Whatever doesn't make me stronger kills me, But it's gonna be a long year, Til the hospital can find hope in me" = Devi during her wheelchair days; "A fevered blur through names obscured, And speech is slurred, What's another bridge burned? I'm on my own, you came alone, All dressed up in bad news. I know you can hurt too, This would be the wrong move, Maybe we should leave soon" = Benvi in general, "You can lay with me while you think of him, Drown our sorrows deep in each other's skin, I touch your face while I think of her, I won't raise my lips to the way we were, Bite my neck while you say his name, I will scratch your back to forget her face, Our regret tastes sweet through a soft liqueur, We can raise our lips to the way we were" = not about just each other but their various relationships/fantasies and how they use them to find self-worth or distract from their problems; "On a good day I'm the bad news For the wrong girl with the right wounds" - about Ben and his penchant for being an a**hole but also Devi and herself esp her self sabotage; "Hey, let's all say f- it, I'm gonna make my mother so proud of it" = DEVI MAKING NALINI PROUD
alright well. this anon has my number. PANDERING.
once upon a time, i believe 'astoria' was in my general d/b playlist, but then i said to myself, "self," i said. "you cannot make literally every marianas trench song about ben and devi, you have got to be more discerning, sis." and this one did not make the second cut. HOWEVER. and if i ever get around to finishing my non-exhaustive list of things i love about this album you'll see me elaborate, but! i love this album as an overview of the band's lore. every distinct era influences astoria (2015). and since one of the through lines in the band's music is a love that's formative and deeply influential on the self, even when the speaker and the love aren't actively in a relationship and that's EXACTLY how i conceptualize d/b pre-series and beyond... literally every marianas trench song is about ben and devi and that includes this song amen.
though, for the record, "wildfire" and "this means war" and "while we're young" are the astoria (2015) songs that remain in my d/b playlist.

About
NAME: Eden, Vidhana, Edha Devi, among others
AGE: ??? (Ancient) DOB: ???
SPECIES: Yaksha
GENDER: Where do we even start?
HEIGHT: 163cm HAIR: Black, wavy, short EYES: Brown (Green, sometimes?) SKINTONE: Brown with warm undertones
ETHNICITY: Bengali
MARKS: A large crack (like a crack in pottery) on the right side of their face, and up their left arm. Smaller cracks around the green gemstone in the middle of their chest
VOICE: Somewhat high and nasally. They speak in a blend of more "modern" casual speech, and archaic, poetic terms and turns of phrase. Speaks English with a Bengali accent, speaks Bengali with the Khula/Jashore accent.
---
Eden wants to be a hospitable, generous, gentle person. What they are is restless, moody (perhaps volatile), usually curious and observant, sometimes a bit too willing to believe comforting lies, guarded and strongheaded, drowning in guilt and grief, all that and still genuinely well meaning (and maybe overcompensating).
Eden is curious, both in an intellectual and sensual sense. They want to experience everything, they want to know about everything, they want to learn how to do everything. On the one hand, they have all the lifetimes in the world to do so; on the other, their memory only holds enough knowledge for one lifetime, if that. It frustrates them immensely. In the meantime, that desire to experience new things means they're observant, drinking in every detail. But it can also lead them to trouble, since...
Eden is impatient, restless. They're quite easily bored, even in situations they like and want to stay in. It leads them to wander into the wilderness every so often, and then when they tire of the wilds, wander back into town, and so on and so forth. They find it hard to hold onto their responsibilities, but they try very, very hard to not impulsively abandon those. At least, not for too long.
Eden is full of strong feelings. Even little slights can make them feel gravely insulted, even silly or casual displays of friendship or affection make them positively glow for the rest of the day. This means, often, they're also full of complicated feelings, clashing against each other from different tiny cracks.
But, Eden is also a touch guarded. They have trouble actually communicating all these feelings and desires, and whenever they try, they tend to try and detach themselves, downplay themselves, speak indirectly. When something goes just a bit wrong, they're quick to flinch, and then fight or, in very specific situations, fawn - they do it by accepting whatever the other party says as truth, especially if that "truth" would offer them some brief peace of mind. Outside of that specific circumstance though, they're more likely to bite back, and assert their own will. Perhaps getting reckless or vindictive along the way. (Though they want to reign this particular tendency in...)
Despite being ancient and nearly-immortal, they don't really "act their age", mainly because they can't remember things over a few decades into the past well, and the further back from that one goes, the more fragmented and scarce memories become. However, they do have flashes of maturity and wisdom more befitting their "actual" age sometimes.
Some of Eden's interests include learning about the world (they enjoy reading nonfiction and, in the modern day, scientific studies and journals), card and board games of all kinds (they grew up playing Chaturanga, have played a fair bit of modern chess as well, and are starting to dabble in more complicated modern board games), and are usually trying some new arts and crafts thing every month or so, like knitting or painting, it changes a lot based on their whim. One thing they keep trying to return to is making music. They keep trying to play the harmonium but it's been decades and they still suck.
As a yaksha, Eden is a guardian spirit of a natural place, their own home is a rainy forest grove. What this gives them is a sensitivity to the environment around them (understand animals, smell and taste the mood), an ability to shapeshift into animals common in their domain (their preferred forms are a deer and a viper), and purify (or poison) the water and fruits of their home. Yaksha abilities depend heavily on their environment, so others may have different abilities.
There's a gemstone embedded in Eden's chest. This is the symbol of divine favour, and the boons that come with it. This greater power grants nigh-immortality, and a stronger ability to manipulate the earth and nature of Eden's own world. Things such as control plants like an extension of their body and shape entirely new lifeforms. In the current day, this is a level of power Eden is extremely wary of using without good reason. And, it only works within the bounds of Kubera's Prism, not in the human world.
Finally, Eden has some sorcerous talent. They can use it to create small illusions and manipulate dreams. This, they mostly learned in order to survive in the world of dreams. While the depths of the arts of maya can be dangerous and ethically heinous by way of dealing in what is essentially mind control, Eden's specialization isn't in that sort of thing, so they're not as wary about using this magic. This form of magic is weakest (but still functional) in the human world, and strongest in the dream world.
Eden accumulated other skills over the course of their life, and most of them rust over and fade as they fall out of use and Eden forgets them. They suspect in their original, pre-immortality life, they were trained to fight or hunt, because of a few almost-instincts have stayed with them despite the time and amnesia, like how to make a fist, or knowledge about the anatomy of animals. Oddly (and embarassingly for them) they don't know that much about "proper" physical sciences, including botany. They had the power to control and create plants, yes, but the Keystone essentially acted as a cheat code, letting them impose their will on reality without them needing to understand how it worked. This is something they consider deeply shameful and maybe contributed to how badly they mismanaged their responsibility over the land, and part of why they're so interested in scientific studies nowadays.

8, 12, 20? for the queer asks
8. Describe your gender without using any words traditionally related to gender:
angelic!
12. Name some queer artists/bands or songs you like most:
The Scary Jokes (Liz is nonbinary, and lots of the music is about queerness- in particular, a lot of songs are explicitly about lesbian relationships)
Devi McCallion [AKA Black Squares, known for performing in Black Dresses, also known as Girls Rituals, Mom, Cats Millionaire, EAT BABIES?, Anarchy99, and a few other aliases] (Devi is a trans woman, and a lot of her music is about transness and queer relationships)
Lauren Bousfield [AKA: Nero's Day at Disneyland] (Lauren is a trans breakcore/noise artist)
I also enjoy Glass Beach, Sir Chloe, Mitski, Rio Romeo, 100gecs, and a lot of smaller indie stuff, but those seemed like the big ones for me :o)!!
20. Do you feel like you "fit in" with the queer/Pride community overall?
I love it here, but i do occasionally feel a little. "Controversial". There are some inherent differences to the way i feel about my gender, body, and sexuality because i am intersex, and i cannot be defined the same way perisex queer people can. This has been... frustrating, because a lot of people really want straightforward answers about my body and identity, and that isn't possible for me. I just exist a very different way from most. I think a lot of the new terms people try to use to define things are too exclusionary, and end up creating boxes i will never properly fit into.
I also identify with a lot of Bad Words, and i'm strongly connected to the kink part of the community. This upsets people, sometimes.
But all in all, i am happy with myself, and i am so very lucky to know all the wonderful people i know in the community. <3

Pulp Storytime #31: Weirder living, underground, Part 1.
Some things are odder than Hollywood. Maude Brown had returned from Nova Roma, the hidden Roman city underneath Libya. She missed her radio fame, she claimed, and was back to take over Hollywood with a new picture: the first-ever sword and surfboard action musical. To that effect, she had brought in Canadian race car scion Maple Saint Lee, and her trusted legal counsel, Tacito Uriel Velasco, a.k.a. the Jade Jaguar. Also lounging in the studio were Devika, Giula Santinella, and Gyatso. Maude served hors d’oeuvres on the soundstage, showing off a weird mystic necklace nobody could place. You might think, aren’t Tacito and Steel Eagle extremely competitive within their niches? Well, only partially. (In fact, at one point Devika asked who is tougher and the Jade Jaguar said “Steel Eagle” without a second’s hesitation.) Anyway, with butler Aldous’s leg mysteriously in a cast, it was up to the group to save the picture. They wouldn’t mind finding the screenwriter, Stanley Brewster? His bungalow had been broken into a few days ago and he hadn’t been seen since. The group raced to the scene. While the others investigated the garage and first floor, Devi skulked around the yard, looking for signs of entry. Her carefulness was rewarded when she found the back doors completely smashed in. The party scoured the first and second floors. They found two weird pools of oily blood that didn’t dry and smelled of gasoline; annotated books on MANTONG, the alleged first language of humanity; and an address book which led to Brewster’s writing partner. At the partner’s writing complex, Devika told the lawyer to ‘memorize the billboard across the street’ as she jimmied open the front door. The missing occupant, Richard Shaver, was a slob. Which meant he left out a lot of evidence, including screenplay pages about ancient robots, and marked-up maps of a small oil town up the Pacific Coast Highway. The fiery stuntwoman Lala Santinella was eager to get there, challenging new girl/race car driver Maple St. Lee. And with Devika’s help, she absolutely smoked her, driving on sidewalks and medians, leaving burnt rubber all the way up Highway 1. Maple had the excuse of carrying the rest of the passengers (the Eagle’s sidekick Jimmy Pulaski and Maude Brown among them), but Lala wasn’t buying it. “If you were being followed by a tail, you should’ve just gone faster.” Sound logic! Lala, for reference: https://imgur.com/a/kk4n1RF The apartment map led to the Carcossa oil company. The racer, lawyer and millionaire-orphan met the boss under the guise of investing. They learned a lot but tipped their hands… only to be ambushed by hordes of humanoid oil workers. Devika and Lala were ambushed by the receptionist, who pulled out a baseball bat. Devi picked up a picture frame from the woman’s desk and glassed her with it; Lala sprung off a wall and toppled a filing cabinet. The woman was smushed by the cabinet, oddly, and exploded in a spray of oily blood! This is where the redundancy came in handy. The Steel Eagle and Jade Jaguar mopped the floor with the roughnecks. Glowing fists, diving sweeps, chain chokes, rising knees, all thrown around like fake compliments at a bachelorette party. At the ladies' request, the pair even did a cool double jump-kick into the boss’s locked door, sending it flying into the far wall. The next part was much less cool, as Maude took out her purse pistol and tried to blow Devika away! Devi rolled to cover, and the group easily overpowered the radio starlet. A suspicious Gyatso ripped off her necklace, and she demanded her servants fetch her royal gown! …Wait, was this whole mission from someone kidnapped and mind-controlled?

How to Celebrate Navratri: Embracing the Spirit of the Festival
Navratri, a vibrant and spiritually significant festival in Hindu culture, spans nine nights and honors the goddess Durga. This celebration is marked by a blend of traditional rituals, cultural performances, and communal activities. Whether you’re new to the festival or a seasoned participant, embracing the spirit of Navratri can be both enriching and joyful. How to celebrate navratri Here’s how to celebrate this auspicious festival with reverence and enthusiasm.
Understand the Significance
Navratri, meaning "nine nights," is dedicated to the worship of Durga, the goddess of strength and virtue. Each of the nine nights represents a different form of the goddess, embodying qualities like courage, knowledge, and compassion. Understanding the significance of each day can deepen your connection to the festival and enhance your experience.
Prepare Your Home
Clean and decorate your home to welcome the goddess. Traditional decorations include vibrant colors, lights, and rangoli (intricate designs made on the floor with colored powders or flowers). Setting up a small altar or puja (prayer) space with images or idols of Durga and lighting oil lamps (diyas) can create a sacred ambiance.
Observe Fasting and Dietary Practices
Many people observe fasting during Navratri, either for the entire period or on specific days. The fasting can vary from complete abstention to consuming only fruits and specific foods. Even if you choose not to fast, consider incorporating simple, sattvic (pure) foods into your diet, such as fruits, nuts, and vegetables. This practice helps purify the body and mind.
Engage in Puja and Worship
Daily pujas are an integral part of Navratri. Each day is dedicated to a different form of Durga, and rituals may include chanting mantras, singing bhajans (devotional songs), and performing aarti (a ceremonial worship with light). You can participate in these rituals at home or attend local temples where community prayers are held.
Participate in Dandiya and Garba
Navratri is famous for its energetic dance forms, Dandiya and Garba. Dandiya involves dancing with sticks, while Garba is a circular dance performed around a central idol or lamp. Join community events, which are often held in temples or public spaces, to experience these lively dances. Wearing traditional attire, like lehengas or kurtas, adds to the festive spirit.
Listen to and Share Stories
The festival is a great time to share stories and legends associated with Durga and her various avatars. Listening to these tales can enhance your understanding of the festival's significance and inspire you spiritually. Consider organizing storytelling sessions with family or friends or reading from sacred texts like the Devi Bhagavata Purana.
Perform Acts of Charity
Navratri is also a time to give back to the community. Engage in charitable activities such as donating to a cause, helping those in need, or participating in community service. This act of selflessness aligns with the festival’s spirit of devotion and compassion.
Embrace Cultural Performances
Beyond religious observances, Navratri is a celebration of culture. Attend or participate in cultural events such as drama, music, and dance performances that reflect the traditions of the festival. These events not only enrich your experience but also support and preserve cultural heritage.
Reflect and Meditate
Use this time for self-reflection and meditation. Navratri offers an opportunity to connect with your inner self, set personal goals, and seek spiritual growth. Engage in quiet contemplation, meditation, or yoga to align yourself with the divine energies celebrated during this festival.
Celebrate with Family and Friends
Navratri is a communal festival, so involve your family and friends in the celebrations. Share meals, participate in activities together, and create lasting memories. The collective joy and togetherness amplify the festival’s significance and create a sense of unity.
By incorporating these practices into your Navratri celebrations, you can honor the goddess Durga while also immersing yourself in the rich traditions and cultural heritage of this vibrant festival. Whether through prayer, dance, or community service, embracing the spirit of Navratri can bring spiritual fulfillment and joyous celebration.
