Hi! I’m new here. I did the Instagram thing for a while but lost interest in it (as you do). The meme here is one of my favorites I posted there. I’m also on Reddit, posting under a very similar username. Mostly cosmemes for my original posts, so if you hang out on r/cremposting there’s a chance you’ve seen me.

I kind of want a place I can post pretty much anything without getting moderated over arbitrary rules (like “no title posts”) so here I am. Not just cosmemes (although that might be a lot of my posts, not gonna lie), but other stuff too. Some stuff you might see is thoughts about whatever book I’m currently reading, spaceflight science (that’s my job), dumb jokes, gluten free recipes, video game stuff, and maybe some original writing if I get brave enough to post it.

I got assigned a new role at work right after I made this blog (I am SUPER pumped about it, it’s a huge career move!) so I might not be posting quite as much as I thought but I’ll be hanging around and reblogging your shit. I’m also probably gonna redo my aesthetic because tbh I didn’t really know what I was doing when I set it up and just picked a random pic from my phone. If anyone knows where I can get a nice banner pic or a better avatar lmk because I’ve been too caught up in career development the last few years and still think picrew is the place to get them 😂

My name is Jamie, and my name is a pun about ctenophores, which are not jellyfish. The ctenophores pictured above are the likely sister taxa to all other animals, branching off the evolutionary tree before even sponges. They'd have independently developed nerves and muscle. The pinks ones here are sort of cannibals - they eat other ctenophores by swallowing them whole.

I'm taking a chance blazing this post because I want more people to know about and appreciate ctenophores, and because I'm also starting from scratch here after years away and am hoping to find community and an audience for my work.

I'm a disabled queer marine scientist currently looking for accessible work and selling my photography and embroidery to try and cover medical bills in the meantime. Ok here's a tip. If you're new and are wondering why you follow people, like their stuff but then suddenly get blocked it might be because of this.

I just was followed by a group of pages

If you notice they all have the default avatar. So I went and checked their pages.

And you'll notice they all except one have the default page and are Untitled. This right here is one reason you are getting insta blocked by a lot of people on here. This is what almost all the porn bot pages look like. For that this is almost always an instant block by a lot of us on here.

Take a moment and try and personalize your page, even a little bit. Make it look like someone lives there.

Just a friendly FYI to all the new people on here.

Hello!!

I'm very new to tumblr and still figuring out how this all works but I'm insane about the qsmp and have many thoughts I need to put somewhere! So i thought I might try this out!

I pretty much watch most people who log on regularly but mostly (not exclusivly!) the english speaking ones cause thats already my second language!

And i mean that. Like most of the time i have at least 3 streams on my screen and its not a rare occasion that multiple have sound on. I'm totally normal about qsmp.

Also big enjoyer of fitpac, 4halo, guaopduo and bagina.

So yeah i love what i've seen so far from the community here so i kinda wanna get a little more involved :D

Oh and i also write some stuff on occasion over at ao3 under LiniMoonlight as well so i might post those here? Idk still learning how things work!
