I was doing some assignments while listening songs and Akhiyan by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan started and I instantly thought of Desi reader Harry like this might be one of his favourite desi songs. I mean it gives so many vibes!! I dunno how to explain this to you. But I imagine when the reader was first explaining the meaning of the song he will be like 'OMG WHAT GREAT SONG! It was pouring outside. The streets of London sparkly ponds from the golden flickering lights, Harry was strumming his guitar in an inaudible sursur so Y/N could enjoy the music she has played on vinyl.

A vinyl her cousin gifted her when she came back from the trip of their homeland.

It had all of the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's qawalis, poems and songs in it.

From past fifteen minutes He’s trying to bask into the emotions of the singer's words, to get to know the meaning of song through the heart-wrenching tone of his's without disturbing Y/N who’s lounged on sofa reading with their little fuzzy kitten napping on her tummy and her calves in Harry’s lap as he brushes a tickly hand under her knee sometimes in between to earn a giggle because he thinks it’s been late enough since he heard it and he misses it.

“Hey, lovie..” He taps her softly, “Uhm?” Y/N looks up at him from above the book pages and scooches closer to him.

“You know what this song’s ‘bout? ‘s such a bummer I can’t understand.” He pouts fiddling the guitar pick between his fingers and Y/N ushers him closer with a heart warming smile booping his nose and kissing his pout away.

“It’s about yearning for someone, missing them so much that your heart isn’t a heart anymore... it’s just a flesh of desire.” She whispers taking in the colours that flushes over him in reaction to many emotions he’s feeling at the moment.

“Wow..” He ponders, scribbling a mental note to himself to search the songs translation – it’s such a pretty language he feels so vulnerable and connected to Y/N when he learns new words in devoting to her.

His next words caught Y/N off guard. Butterflies in her insides making her all weird and shy and wanting nothing but to squish her face in his neck.

“This’s how I feel when ‘m away from you. Wanna write you hundred songs like this...” He mumbles caressing his nose in her soft hair, the homely loving scent of hers on the tip of his nose as he basks in the intimacy of the song and her closeness now he knows the meaning.

“And I never want to be away from you.” Y/N admits, kissing his neck and hugging him to her chest.

Muffy🧁 Bless you!! You wrote a blurb about it. I know it was written by NFAK I mean most of the songs sung by RFAK were his qawwalis only. The blurb was so beautiful it just very emotional. I often listen to his qawwalis my granddad use to listen to him it just feels very nice. And do you listen to ghazals?? I think you do listen to them. I listen to them while doing my work make me do work really passionately.
