So @kuramirocket got me thinking of a Vampire AU for the Mario Bros (while discussing in this post) so I figured I would share some thoughts of how I personally would want it to go:

please note that I am not really a big vampire enthusiast, nor do I know that much about vampire lore. I never got into Twilight, nor have I read Dracula (yet). So I'll only be referring to the basic stuff I know about vampires. For those interested: do with this au as you please :)

- Luigi gets turned into a vampire (whether by dark magic, an item, or another vampire). And it's not long after that effects start to take place (his skin burning in the sun, a taste for blood, the urgent need to wander about in the night). His skin also gets a more pale tinge and his eye colour turns purple.

- Luig tries to keep this hidden as long as possible, but Mario finds out and is devasted. He blames himself for not being able to protect his brother from this. He promises to fix this and help Luigi find a cure.

- After many months of travelling (and trying to keep Luigi's new vampire instincts in check in the meantime), they soon come to learn the truth that there is no cure. Luigi is stuck like this forever.

- Mario, without a shred of doubt, asks Luigi to bite him, so he can become a vampire and live with him in immortality.

- Luigi is of course furiously against this. Why should Mario suffer because of him? His brother deserves much better than this, and he should just forget him.

- Mario gets upset at this and firmly tells him that he wants this. Luigi has done nothing wrong, and if fate is deciding that there is no way out of this, Mario would rather shoulder that with him. They're a team, always together, and he can't bare the idea of one having to watch the other age...

- Luigi finally agrees. They hold each other tight, and Luigi (after some hesitation) bites down on Mario's neck.

- It's so painful. And Mario can feel the venom swarming around inside his body. But he knows it's not Luigi's fault. He holds him closer, trying to communicate via his touch that this is fine, everything is ok, this is what he wants.

- After some time Luigi stops and Mario steps back. He's lightheaded, his skin already turning pale, and his eyes becoming a shade of purple. He also has two bite marks on his neck (which he forever carries around as scars). But he's ok. Mario smiles at Luigi reassuringly, knowing it worked.

- They move far away and live in immortality together, deciding to become dark shadow hunters (to protect innocents) and only live on a diet of animal blood and plant sap.

he normally doesn’t go because he prefers quiet nights in catching up on uni work or drawing little things but you convinced him to come along for what was meant to be a quiet drink

well, now he was stood whilst you were in the bathroom cradling your glass to his chest as if it were a baby.

he’s pretty sure john and sean are here too, so he’s like pressed up against the wall whilst people dance

he’ll be so awkward esp if people try to talk to him

“oh, ‘m just holding my girlfriend’s drink for a while.”

don’t get me wrong, he may feel out of place but your drink is safe and sound with him

he’s very tall compared to others despite how much he tries to blend in so he won’t be bothered by anyone, but he ends up just looking quite intimidating instead of anxious so no one would approach him anyway

howeverrr, he’s a bit of a himbo and forgets it’s YOUR drink so he ends up taking a quick sip

you thrust your drink into his hand and say that you’re going to the toilet

your poor boyfriend doesn’t even get a say so now he’s holding both your drink and his 😭

does that awkward smile at the group your with but glares hard at anyone he doesn’t know

will put your drink down at the table if he’s sat down, he’ll keep a very close eye on it + will have his hand right next to it

this also runs the risk of him knocking your drink over (he did it once and immediately bought you a new one so you wouldn’t know)

if someone wants him for something like a chat, he’ll give it to someone else like charles or karen

but then forgets about your drink so you have to search the entire place for your friends to get it back 😭

he’s trying his best and most of the time you get your drink back so points for trying

the first time you ever tried to get sean to hold your drink, he grabs it from you and downs it bc he thought you had enough of it 😭 (gets arthur to buy you another bc he’s low-key poor)

however. when you give him your drink now, he nods as you leave and stares at it wondering if you’d let him have a tiny bit

the only way your drink won’t be drank by sean is if it’s something fruity/something he just doesn’t like

but- even if it is something he likes, he’s a gentleman and will do his best to protect it

buttttttt he’s clumsy when he’s drunk (he most likely is) and he tends to drop glasses a lot so your drink isn’t entirely safe from HIM

a stranger got a bit too close to him once when he was holding your drink and sean starting full on barking- like the bar went quiet and you came out of the bathroom to your boyfriend barking at a confused man

he holds your drink like it’s his own so it doesn’t look too out of place. people know sean likes to get wasted so they probably won’t mess with it

however, if he turns away when having a conversation from your drink someone could easily slip something into it

he kinda knows this so he steals a small sip just before you get back then gives you an innocent smile and hands you your drink back

he’s baby but he’s clumsy

most likely the driver of the group so he’s drinking waters all through out the night

you could convince him to have like,, one shot maybe but he’s back to drinking water after that

as soon as you walk up to him with a sweet smile and your drink outwards a little he knows what to do

takes the glass and nods as you leave to go to the bathroom

secure grip, hand over the top and everything 10/10 your drink is safe

will glare at people who stare at your drink

isn’t tempted to drink it but is curious of what it is especially if it’s a mix

will 100% ask you when you get back

ngl if the girls are out with you guys he’s literally gonna have a hoard of drinks to protect bc everyone trusts charles

poor guy has to babysit about 4-5 glasses at once sometimes 😭

but he gets the job done and all your drinks are returned safely

kieran is another baby who doesn’t really like parties

is very anxious when you hand him your drink and ask him to look after it bc he’s not that strong and someone could definitely overpower him for ur drink

sits in the corner all puppy eyes so people won’t bother him, hand over your drink as he watches everyone

bc he looks so sad someone came up to him and he burst into tears, he fully turned away whilst shielding your drink to his chest

he’s an emotional drunk you can’t change my mind

however, if he’s more sober he won’t cry but he will look a little vulnerable (sometimes he looks lost) bc he thinks everyone will think “oh that guys just a little guy, a little meow meow. we won’t bother him”

will sniff your drink a little to try and figure out what it is

holds your drink over the top casually as he talks to friends

gestures a little with it sometimes but he never spills it bc he’s very conscious that he’s holding your drink

if someone approaches him like “yo the drink you’re holding-“ he will cut them off and be like “it’s my gf’s.” :)

will sneak a small sip bc he likes your taste in alcohol

however if he’s got his own drink in his hand too he’ll get a little confused and drink some of yours by mistake 😭

one time he gave you his drink on accident and you both looked confused when you drank a little bc it tasted different. you both laughed it off and finished the drinks anyway

so 9/10 you get your drink back but sometimes you get his 😭😭

HI ANON i am so sorry this has taken me a million years to answer, i started weirdly overthinking it??

my understanding of the ‘who did this to you?’ trope is it’s very hurt/comfort-centric, which is not a genre i write very often (hence probably why i overthought this for so long lmao).

if i was to approach a remix of monday from this angle i think i’d like to do it from lando POV and explore more of why he’s so insecure and why it takes him so long to trust that oscar genuinely really likes him and isn’t just looking for a quick fuck to take the edge off. there’d be more of a focus on lando’s past relationships and in particular how he went from being a slightly nerdy kid (like, he looked twelve until he was about twenty) to suddenly being a millionaire heartthrob with a huge social media following. but he also self-describes as a simp (in the lando norris vs slang video) and clearly wants to be in a “real” relationship rather than just fucking about, so i’d look at what happened to him to make him so cautious with his heart.

proooobably this would end up with past dando or carlando? i have a mild aversion to carlos so i’d probably go for fuckboy daniel ngl.

i think it’d take oscar quite a long time to actually get round to asking lando what happened — partly because he’s got a bit of an attitude of “well, lando will tell me in his own time if it’s important to him” but also because there’s a bit of him that doesn’t really want to know, especially because he’s got a pretty good idea it involves another driver. he’d probably bring it up pretty idly, in the end — lando would make some veiled comment about how netflix would have creamed their collective pants if they’d known the half of it while oscar’s scrolling past DTS trying to find something to watch, and oscar would very casually… actually, y’know what.

Lando feels Oscar go still next to him and mentally kicks himself. Might’ve known Oscar wouldn’t let that one drop.

“So are you, like.” Oscar wets his lips and shifts on the bed, curling up so Lando’s tucked further into his chest. Lando presses himself back, drawing Oscar’s arm around him. “I dunno. Did something happen? With Dan.”

Lando closes his eyes, considers his options. It’s tempting to squirm back against Oscar’s body, press his arse into his crotch and slip Oscar’s hand under the hem of his T-shirt until he forgets the line of questioning, forgets he was saying anything at all. It’s mad, really, the way he responds: Lando only has to pull his shirt up, bite his lip a certain way, and he’ll have Oscar distracted and reaching for him, even now. It’s been months. Lando’s experienced it before, that first flush of desire when he can use his body to control how someone feels about him. It rarely lasts, though, once the novelty wears off.

Which is sort of the point.

He sighs, aware it sounds a bit huffy, and picks up his phone so he can flick through his notifications while he speaks. “I mean, I guess? It was just stupid, though.”

Oscar breathes behind him, slow and deliberate. He hums into Lando’s hair, strokes a thumb over the ticklish spot on Lando’s waist, the dip just above the ridge of muscle that delineates his hip.

Lando swipes through notifs from Discord, Instagram, iMessage, WhatsApp, Reddit, Sky Sport. Dismissing each without seeing it. He laughs, and it comes out all wrong, harsh in the back of his throat and defensive. God. Wet as fuck. “It was just — I mean, he was fucking miserable, you saw him. So I guess he just wanted a pick-me-up, y’know.”

“Right,” Oscar says, voice unreadable. He’s so fucking blank sometimes. Lando fights the urge to turn round and scrutinise his face, opens his emails instead and starts deleting anything that doesn’t look vital.

“He said,” Lando says, aiming to deliver it as a joke. “‘I’m straight, but I bet you suck dick like a girl anyway’. Like. What does that even mean?”

Oscar’s thumb stills, just for a moment, then resumes its slow path. “I know that’s offensive, but I can’t tell if it’s sexist or homophobic or both.”

Lando makes a disgruntled sound of agreement. “Yeah, well, whatever. It was — whatever. Wasn’t anything.”

“You said,” Oscar says mildly. “But I can see why you’d… Why it’d make you cautious.”

Lando sighs. Thinks of Luisa, showing him screenshots, her face streaked with tears. Watching the comments roll in, badly spelled threats he didn’t even bother reporting. The way Carlos never quite relaxed around him once people started tagging them in stupid ship videos. Googling how do you make someone sign an nda locked in an unfamiliar bathroom, mouth sour with vodka, head spinning. Waking up at 5am in lockdown, Max hyperventilating next to him. The girl from Raya he’d sent flowers to, trying to do the thing properly and be romantic, only to find she’d blocked him ten minutes after he got the Your package was successfully delivered email.

“It wasn’t him,” Lando says, locking his phone and putting it face down on the nightstand. He turns, tangling his legs between Oscar’s and leaning in to nip at his jaw, breathing in the familiar smell of Oscar’s basic aftershave. Oscar's arms tighten around him. His cheeks curve into a smile beneath Lando's mouth. “It doesn’t matter.”

So ngl, I’ve been tempted to do poetry. I see many talented poets/writers such as a mutual of mine, Crowleys-hips. So I through why not take a crack at it, I don’t think I’ll do these often like that. As I love drawing and writing more so than doing poetry. But I do love a good poetry. He was fun to do a poetry on being if it did almost caught me tearing up. Brief notes on MK rides:

MK11:

Johnny Cage always has the douchiest car possible in any timeline.

Kitana Kahn excels at handling mounts, drawing from the Mongol influence on Outworld, Shao Kahn, and the Tarkatans. She has one of those goofy little Outworld horses, a mare named Zuzu.

Skarlet has a very fluffy Bactrian camel that she loves lots.

Jade has a mount that is emphatically not a horse or even an equine; rather, it's either an antelope or a big cat.

Nightwolf has a sweet-ass motorcycle, the kind of hog that would make a Hell's Angel weep.

Erron named his horse Bluebonnet, because Texas. She's one of the few creatures he wouldn't ditch for better pay.

MK1:

Outworld has a ton of different mounts: different kinds of antelope, dairy animals, ratites, and massive canines, all bred for the saddle. There are also flying creatures such as manticores and rocs, and, if you're very lucky, you might be chosen by a simurgh or a qilin.

There are no saddle felines. Have you seen the way cats' shoulders go up and down? You'd be falling off 24/7.

We see carriage horses in the announcement trailer (ngl, I'm going to miss those weird dogs from MK11) I can't quite catch their coat colors, but their butts and tails suggest they're palomino.

It's tempting to headcanon Kitana as riding a horse, because they come in so many colors, and what's a princess without a stunning horse? On the other hand, non-horse mounts are dope as shit, and an oryx or stag would be really cool.

Tanya absolutely rides an antelope, either an eland or a kudu.

Li Mei rides her shishi.

No one's 100% sure what Mileena's mount is, only that it's terrifying and she probably found it in the Flesh Pits.

*A ratite is an ostrich-like bird, and the simurgh is a canine-headed bird from Persian mythology, foster mother of the hero Zac and able to grant wishes. An oryx is also an antelope, speculated to be the "unicorn" of the KJV Bible (translated as "wild bulls" in the Catholic versions).

jk, it's the anatomy. as one dude in uni said, you know how to do proportions "very aesthetically pleasing, since people fuck up often". i know i said it before but your drawings are perfectly seasoned. and that is one of your artist trademarks, in a way. there's a perfect balance with details- textures on the skin are crunchy and not overdone but lacking either, very realistic!

I'm now tempted to draw them extra crunchy for the fun of it i'm ngl. that aside, here's a sketch for well wishes

So originally, I made the fankids long ago when I first got into Sam and max, but I never bothered sharing them because i thought they weren’t that interesting, but I’ve developed their backstory a lot more since then:

Ace: So Ace is a fucked up cloning experiment conducted by Geek, she decided one day that she wanted to make a silly lil clone of Max to see how far her experiments could go, but that didn’t exactly go as planned. She ended up creating 507-B (B meaning that there WAS an A but y’know..A didn’t go as planned at all) whom she kept secret from everyone for a long while, that is until Max let his curiosity take over and snuck into the lab when everyone was sleeping. Max found little Ace in some sort of science-y pod thing (idk what those are called) and he immediately thought it was the cutest little guy he’d ever seen. Ace indeed did not look very adorable, he looked pretty freaky ngl. Max decided to wake Sam late at night and show him what he found, Sam was hesitant about thinking anything of the freaky little clone, but eventually Max convinced him it was also the cutest thing he’d ever seen. When Geek realized that Max discovered the experiment and told Sam all about it, she was pretty upset about it but at the same time, she was also relived that she didn’t have to overwork herself taking care of Ace anymore, Sam and Max would just take it from there. And so, experiment 507-B was eventually named Ace, like ace of spades. (kinda a Poker Night reference) Ace is just the definition of a skrunkly, he’s adorable and ugly at the same time. He loves to chew, scratch, bite, kick, throw, and attack almost anything he sees, it’s just in his nature.

Quinn: Sam and Max don’t feel like explaining how exactly Quinn came to be. She could either be biologically related, a clone, or had just poofed into existence. Whenever someone asks about it, they both just laugh and continuing talking about something else as if nothing happened. Quinn is a sabertooth dog creature who I had been drawing ever since I first got into Sam and Max, basically she’s kinda just a mini Sam. I like to imagine her and Sam hang out a lot because they have so much in common with each other, they probably go out for ice cream and leave Max with Ace at home, to which they’d probably play video games together or just have play fights with each other. (Lots of biting involved) Quinn is very serious about working as a freelance police officer when she’s older though, her and Ace end up taking over the business and they get commissioned more risky cases. Quinn’s favorite kind of cases are assassination cases, which she’ll always use her trusty sniper rifle for. (Don’t get on her bad side, that rifle is scary) Similar to Sam, Quinn has quite the appetite, but only for one specific food..desserts. Whenever any sort of sweet is involved in a case, she’ll always be tempted to take some for herself. Despite her overall serious tone about mostly everything, sweets are what really show her true self, a lovable little puppy dog who can’t resist any sort of treat.

General info about the two of them: They have quite the sibling relationship. They always pick on each other and argue, but they still really care for one another. Ace likes to support his sister in any way possible, often cheering for her whenever she takes charge in a case, which is literally every case. Quinn likes to show her support for her big brother through subtle affection, since it’s hard for her to show much affection at all. She tends to bonk him on the head, call him a harmless name (knucklehead, stupid, etc) or just give him a little head pat. Quinn also shows how much she cares for her brother by protecting him when he can’t protect himself in a dangerous situation. One can never be without the other, just like Sam and Max themselves, an Ace without a Quinn or vice versa will make both of them feel incomplete. I totally do not plan on purposely separating them for story purposes noooooooo/s
