There’s something about how Shining’s family treats Nightingale not as a person but as a thing to be discarded and rebuilt, and how it frames how her family views her relationship with Liz, and her actions. Because every time there together we see just how much Shining cares about Liz to the point where her future is planned around what Liz wants more then anything. But to Salus and Confesarious Liz is just a doll for Shining to play with and is seen as nothing more as a way to keep Shining around nothing more then that. 

Even Shining freeing Liz and escaping with her is seen as nothing more then a minor inconvenience for them because of course there her real family so of course Shining will grow out of this phase and come back to them. Her whole relationship with Liz is seen as not real to them because of course her relationship with some random woman isn’t meaningful since she’s just a temporary and easily replaceable thing. Also theres a lot that can be read into with how this is all written, but it does feel like there are some implications that to Salus and Confesarious the only thing that matters to Shining about Liz is her body and not her as a person.

so glad yostar kept the use of "rebellious love" here as a shiningale fan I'm fed my crops are water. All i need now is an event where shining kills her weirdo creep of a father. Like so far this has been so much of what I've wanted from this entire plot line in how their building it up.
