Love Like No Other- A small Nina x Kate fanfic by tic-toc-clock77
The howling winds and low groans of a woman named Kate passed through the forest's trees at the ungodly hour of 3:00 a.m.
She couldn't remember her real last name, whether it was Milens or Hayes, she couldn't remember very much at all about her past before he, the Slenderman, made himself known to her and took her in as his proxy...Another night alone in this cold hollow forest beckoned her but she did not sleep, she did not eat, she hadn't been a normal human girl in years.
At the exact same time, a young 25 year old named Nina Hopkins came racing through the forest on her own. "Fuck you, Jeff!" She screamed as the former ran off, leaving the pale skinned girl to carry the bag of dismembered corpses to the Slenderman on her own.
Tugging the bag along the long trail was an awful, time wasting job for somebody of Nina's size which was made clear when she tugged much to hard and the bag ripped apart at the seems. "DAMNIT!" She screamed, watching the parts of her and Jeff's victims roll out onto the trail. In defeat, Nina laid on the ground. When she looked up at the arriving sun, she was unexpectedly greeted by a strange face and shot up instantly to run away.
"Wait wait!" The spooky face shouted on, a woman's voice exited and the spooky face seemed to recoil, revealing her true face which was quite pleasant. "Oh Kate, it's just you." Nina sighed with relief and took Kate's hand that extended to her. Kate and Nina's hand in hand walk was silent, as per usual as they neared the cabin which formerly belonged to Jane, save for the rustling of a new garbage bag Kate had on hand to pack the victims.
"Sorry for scaring you." Kate sighed, hands wrapped around the warm cup of tea Nina made for her. "It's no big deal." Nina swung her legs gently as she sat on the small kitchen counter. "Well, don't come and sit with your girlfriend." Kate mentions, feigning annoyance. "Hey, don't sulk at me." Nina jumps off the counter and makes her way over to Kate, enveloping her in a warm hug and squishing the sides their faces together.
The duality was always the same, either it was no touching or clinging harder than a petrified victim to whoever is nearby. Nina scoops her legs to either side of Kate, who wraps her arms around Nina's back. "You asked for this." She grumbles as Kate kisses her forehead, "Not exactly but I'll take it anyway." They hold each other tighter, luckily held up by the rickety chair.
"My tea is going to get cold."
"Too bad."
"Your hard work will be going to waste."
"Don't care."
Kate took notice of how she seemed to be getting more tired, "I take it you had a long night." Nina nods and nuzzles into Kate's shoulder. "I'll take the pieces to the boss for you." Standing and taking Nina's thighs in her hands, Kate carries the very-close-to-sleeping Nina over to the couch, grabs a flimsy blanket and draping it over her.
For a moment, Kate watches Nina until she's certain she's asleep and takes off to leave, grabbing the bag and walking her way to the main cabin, taking out her patrol mask, which was really a shapeshifted form of her face before entering.
Greeted by the familiar groans of Kate, BEN and Jeff both turn to her, BEN shakes a third remote but she shakes her head in return. She passes by the living room and kitchen, Sally runs around the table with her stuffed bear and sitting on the counter is a couple that Kate recognizes from Nina's descriptions of them; mostly the woman with the clock in her eye who was Nina's unrequited crush quite a while ago but quits staring to keep heading down the long hallway.
She knocks and enters, greeted by the Slenderman who informs she doesn't have to shift in his presence and her face recoils again. "How are things?" He asks, turning in his swivel chair, his large figure towering over her. "Everything is fine with a patrol, a few-" He shakes his head, "I meant with Nina." Kate looks down and blushes quite a bit..."It's a love like no other, sir."
She returns shortly to the small cabin and sees Nina, curled up on her side, Kate relaxes as she sits on the small portion of the couch not taken up by Nina and plays with her hair while she sleeps. Life has never been more peaceful than this moment.
