But I genuinely think it’s such a disappointment that red shogun did not appear at all in s8 despite the fact that it’s the best opportunity for him to show up again.

He’s famous dude in the “gritty” underbelly scene of ninjago city and you can reasonably believe that people won’t know what his true identity is.

It makes sense to me the evil biker gang would want this mysterious guy who’s extremely good at fighting. And it would make sense that Kai would go along with it to find out who the quiet one is.

Small au where Kai and nya are decedents from one of the Phoenix from Chima. Which has an added bonus of whenever a fire elemental master uses their powers, they slowly gain Phoenix features.
