In Super Mario 64, the red coin collection sound effect is actually a small snippet of the Bob-omb Battlefield theme that lines up perfectly with the song if the red coin is collected with precise timing. Here, the song is playing and the red coin is collected to line up with the music.

I hope Nintendo realizes now the first thing I'm going to do in Tears of the Kingdom is try to chain fuse as many long sticks, spears, and pitchforks together as possible until I'm jabbing enemies from a mile away.

i need every other franchise, no not even, MEDIA WITH MERCHANDISE, to take a good, hard look at the tears of the kingdom themed switch. it is the PERFECT example of how to blend the aesthetics of your game/movie/show WHATEVER with a functional item that doubles as merchandise. there's no bold text saying "TEARS OF THE KINGDOM" and they knew better than the use excessively clashing colors like lots of neon green on black. this switch is classy, and clearly themed to the game without looking corny or even clearly like merchandise. someone who doesn't know a lot about totk could just think that this is a new color or design option for the switch, while fans of totk will instantly recognize the particular shade of green and the subtle patterns all over the switch. its literally the perfect piece of merchandise idc idc

Some of the Bowser courses in Super Mario 64 feature rotating platforms such as the one in the footage. If Mario touches the star-shaped contraption to which the platforms are attached in a specific location at a certain point during its rotation, he will be teleported to the death barrier at the bottom of the course, dying instantly.
