it's pride and i don't want to be pride-phobic so i'm going to start with the queer icons (shawn mendes and harry styles will not be on this list, sorry but not sorry):

kc & max - orphans make me a kind of sad, so i'm really rooting for this couple. i hope max lets the poor boy call him daddy. 10/10

sebastian & blaine - i heard blaine is already planning their wedding. i wish for drag queens and neon lights. 8/10.

taylor & sugar - i believe in the power of manifesting. 7/10

spencer & david - i'm such a hopeless romantic and enemies to lovers is my fav fav fav romance trope. i want this so bad for timon and pumbaa. 6/10 though because well... karfosky.

quinn & keke - they're obviously together, but quinn is cray cray. i hope they can still co-parent their daughter. 3/10 if her therapist works overtime.

adrián & the entire hockey team - hot. but unstainable. happy orgies while it lasts though! 1/10

and now for the others. still adorable, but a bit straight for my taste:

puck & catrina - so easy. they're married and expecting puck jnr jnr. it doesn't get more solid than that. 10/10

jesse & rachel - does anyone believe they're just friends. do they believe it? i like it, they're weird cute. also i think they're probs the only people that would have one another. 7/10 because hens haven't stopped laying eggs.

ali & sam - they only got this high on the list because they're homecoming "royalty", but it's time for ali to remember her worth and kiss some girls. get a real blonde and a real cowgirl, baby. 4/10

kitty & ryder - i'm just so sad... kitty came out and started dating a man. plus, ryder should be with me. i want to lick him like a lollipop. 2/10

#62 Suburbicon

Los Lodge son una familia compuesta por el padre Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon), la madre Rose Lodge (Julianne Moore) y su hijo Nicky (Noah Jupe) que tienen que vivir con la hermana de la madre Margaret (Julianne Moore), ya que está se quedó postrada en una silla de ruedas, después de un accidente de tráfico, y necesita ayuda.

En Suburbicon se muda la familia Mayers, compuesta por el padre, la madre y su hijo Andy (Tony Espinosa), todos los vecinos están alborotados con la llegada de estos nuevos vecinos de color, ya que se trataba de una comunidad caucásica y anclada en los 60 no dispuesta a compartir sus espacios con personas que consideran inferiores a ellos, es por esto que a lo largo de todos los acontecimientos del film de forma paralela los Mayers sufren el acoso, abuso y prejuicios de sus vecinos de Suburbicon.

Nicky no es un niño con muchos amigos, es retraído y solitario, por eso cuando aparece Andy, y la tía Margaret le obliga a ir a jugar con él al beisbol, no lo sabe, pero le está haciendo un favor.

Una noche dos desconocidos se cuelan en la casa de los Lodge para robar, los bajan a todos a la cocina, los atan a la silla y los colocan en círculo alrededor de la mesa, después les duerme con cloroformo. Cuando despiertan en el Hospital, Nicky puede ver a su madre Rose muy enferma utilizando una máquina para respirar, poco después acaba muriendo por una ingesta abusiva de cloroformo. Los Lodge denuncian a la policía los hechos y Margaret se muda definitivamente a la casa.

Nicholas se siente muy abrumado y triste por lo que le pasa a su madre, y no puede entender por qué todos le dan el pésame y asocian, de alguna forma, que lo ocurrido con su madre tiene que ver con la llegada de los Mayers, aunque los ladrones eran blancos.

Por ello, cuando la policía llama a su padre y a su tía para hacer una rueda de reconocimiento para asegurarse si están los ladrones o no, decide colarse y se queda de piedra cuando, pese a que están ahí, ni su tía ni su padre parecen reconocerlos.

El niño se queda helado y no quiere hablar hasta que su padre llama a la puerta de su habitación y decide confrontarle preguntándole que porque ni él ni la tía Maggie han reconocido a esos hombres, su padre muy serio le responde que no sabe a quién cree que ha visto, pero que aquellos no eran los hombres, aun así Nick no se queda muy seguro de los sucedido, y siguen adelante.

Los ladrones ven al niño y le dan una paliza a Gardner para que les pague y para que tome medidas con el niño, a la vez que un investigador del seguro va a casa a hablar con Margaret para decirle que sabe que mantiene una relación con el padre de Nick y que la muerte de Rose ha sido pactada y, por supuesto, se quiere llevar tajada.

Nick pilla a Margarert y Gardner manteniendo relaciones y lo entiende todo, sabe que si no se calla y apoya la versión de los dos adultos acabarán con él como hicieron con su madre, y no se equivoca. Margaret envenena al investigador del seguro y entre los dos deciden acabar con la vida de Nick, pero antes de que pueda hacerlo, uno de los ladrones se cuela en la casa y asesinan a Mitch, el tío de Nick y hermano de Rose y Maggie, que había ido a salvar a Nick, y a la propia Rose.

Nick y Gardner se sientan frente a frente en la mesa de la cocina, y el padre se come un sandwich con un vaso de leche, que le había hecho Maggie a Nick. El padre amenaza al niño con que guarde silencio ahora que han perdido a todos los miembros de su familia y se han quedado solos el uno con el otro. Nick no quiere, pero es demasiado joven para defenderse y ya no tiene a su tío Mitch para que se ponga de su lado, por lo que acepta a regañadientes.

Lo que ninguno de los dos se espera es que Maggie antes de morir envenena el sandwich y la leche que había preparado para Nick, esperando quitarse al crío de encima y vivir su aventura de amor con su cuñado de forma libre. Por lo que Gardner muere delante de Nick y este se siente aliviado y liberado. Por fin todos sus problemas se han terminado.

Lo mismo ocurre con los Mayer, se quedan en la casa y siguen siendo vecinos de los Lodge, por lo que cuando se hace de día Nick sale a jugar con Andy al beisbol.

"Algo confusa al principio, no entiendes muy bien lo gratuito de la muerte de Rose, pero luego todo se va hilando. Entretenida por la trama y por como un padre puede ser tan egoísta respecto a la vida de su hijo.

Por otro lado, no entiendo muy bien la metáfora de la familia, de la casa de al lado y todo lo que les molestan y juzgan, temiendo que eso escale y existan los matrimonios interraciales. Supongo que es el contrapunto de que la familia más blanca y convencional puede ser la más peligrosa."
