We couldn't risk accidentally creating another Nightmare in the creation of a warrior that was supposed to defeat him. A sacrifice had to be made, one that would take in all our resentment to shield our star warrior from contamination. Of course there were consequences later down the line, but it didn't matter to us at the time.

Whether or not Marx is actually (or at least partially) a Noddy, or just look like one, I can only wonder how regular Noddies would see Marx. Like, how would one who is not already familiar with Marx (on one hand he probably already has quite the reputation, but on the other hand, Noddies all spend much of their time asleep) would react to the sight of him flying by. It would be quite hell of an experience, to say the least.

Of course I can't help but think of it going down like that one meme, which I recreated through 1000 hours in MS Paint:
