Update: Emergency Maintenance

Hello everyone! We have another update for you regarding today's emergency maintenance.

This was an attempted XSS attack. We were able to interrupt the attacker while they were in the middle of probing for vulnerabilities in our site's defenses. At this time, we have no reason to believe that player or employee information is compromised by this attempt.  If you are concerned about financial information, Flight Rising does not store any of your financial information. All gem purchases are handled by either Paypal or our credit card processor, Braintree.

In the interest of the security of the Flight Rising website and our employees' well-being, we are keeping the site in the emergency curtains-down maintenance overnight. It's important that we monitor the site when we come out of maintenance and it's currently after 10 pm for much of our team. Tomorrow we will have more information for you about what happened today, along with an update on the Mistral Jamboree extension.

Thinking about the fact that Lloyd got kicked out of Darkley's for not being bad enough. This kid sucked so much at being evil that a boarding school specifically for training kids to be evil masterminds tossed him out. And then he proceeded to put into motion a series of events that would traumatize himself and his loved ones for years to come, and also endanger the lives of everyone in Ninjago on multiple occasions.

Imagine what he could have done if he was good at being evil.

Hey guys! In case you haven't noticed, I've been on extended and unannounced hiatus for a little bit. I haven't been answering questions or writing even little snippets, which is extraordinarily uncommon for me. I've basically gone dark, and I want to give a little explanation as to why that is and the future of this blog.

I have no intention of shutting it down or closing down shop. I just need a little bit of time, and here's where I'll explain why, in case some of you care. Content warning for medical issues, dour situations, and just some pessimistic outlook:

When I said I'd been going through a little bit of a medical gauntlet, I was being honest. However, I didn't realize at the time just how serious everything that was transpiring was. I thought it was just a bit of an inconvenience that I could put in the rearview mirror with a little bit of recovery time. Needless to say, that was not the case.

It turns out it's actually quite serious and has essentially upended my life and changed it forever.

I don't say this to alarm everyone, because as it stands, I have every intention of getting the medical help that I need (or can get, as this is extremely expensive and I have been poverty-poor for some time) and fighting this as much as is possible.

It has, however, been extremely anxiety inducing, painful, and just overall wretched, and has left my head in a place where it's very difficult to seek safety. My one outlet, which has always been my writing, has been invaded by the bleak outlook as well, which explains why I haven't put out anything at all in quite some time.

I will soon find out my options for a course of action, and all I can do is go from there. My hope is that everything will be back to normal as soon as possible around here, and I'll also be back to.. some semblance of normal soon.

Anyways, that's enough of that. The Lads send their love. They're as exhausting as ever. With any luck, we will be back to regularly scheduled nonsense soon.

Hey folks!

Wanted to give you all an update as I've been far less active that I would prefer. Turns out not actively having a mental breakdown doesn't mean I'm well. That being said, things have been much better for me, and I am working on a DYK extra to help get me back in the saddle now.

Unfortunately, something has happened at my job that has made it imperative that I find new employment as quickly as possible. I am still employed, but I can no long morally remain where I am after this. Finding a new job and (maybe) relocating to an entirely different part of the country is going to be difficult and take it's toll on me. Thank you all for understanding my much slower pace. I hope to publish one thing a week this month though!! I'll put out a writing roundup tomorrow when I have the spoons for it.

Shit's been seriously weird for me finding out I had DID, sometimes I genuinely forget that this blog even exists. But it clearly made a part of me happy once, whoever that part was. I'm not even sure I've met them yet after a year plus. I just kinda post in their absence and pretend I remember how incredibly passionate they were for this endeavor. I don't. But I'm working on things in there. Maybe I'll get another discord going because it got deleted way back when but discord's like... weird idk I don't like it.
