The jump btwn the second to last and last always surprise me whenever I make one of these because I always forget to take snapshots after I start painting. It's always like: oh yeah heres the lineart with some colors- BOOM fully finished✨️

What he's holding are the Austrian imperial scepter and orb, seen below:

I was going to draw the crown too but decided I don't hate myself that much(maybe some other day), and gave him a golden laurel crown, bcs I'm obsessed with that as a motif, and also its very remincient of the boy king statue that started this whole thing!

There's some symbolism of this, both intentionally but also just historically. I love that the orb represents that the monarch is holding the world in their hand, basically every old monarchy has one of those, and I think it's very cool for symbolism. But also bcs of that, I was forced to basically draw catholic fanart so, you win some you lose some. The star halo above him head is both to reference those religious statues with star crowns(I saw them a lot in Europe and they imprinted onto my brain), as well as: his four championships of course!

i have to say its a strange experience taking classes on branding and marketing while being vehemently anticapitalist and scorning the economic system

#i shit you not ill be in class and theyre talking abt how to make brands memorable and use words to describe their tone and feel #and at the same time i see starbucks endorsing genocide and greedflation and AI techbros scheming us into extinction #its extremely fucking dystopian. and its even worse when u have teachers telling u to use chatGPT and midjourney for #placeholder text and images. like damn. this is really the industry im going into huh #i feel complicit doing this because i want to pursue graphic design but its chilling to see ppl get really worked up abt branding #do u not feel used?? doesnt it feel like youre giving a faceless entity a mask to gloss over the ugly parts?? cuz i do #i get excited at the design and UX aspect of things like how people think and how design and user interfaces are planned around how #we think and act. but when the endgoal becomes marketing or doing it for companies it just feels like a waste #like i think this is what bill watterson meant when he didnt want calvin and hobbes to be commercialized #i dont want to do anything else unless it comes to that like i change my career path somewhere down the line. but fuck dude #im just gonna keep using unsplash and lorem ipsum as much as i can because i sure as hell dont wanna add to the problem if i cant solve it #yapping #vent

For the first part, yes! I'd like to think they talk it out, they live together so it's basically inevitable. Tho it would DEFINITELY take a lot of time to work things out... not bc they hate each other (FAR from it actually) it's just that, ya know, they didn't really leave on the best terms. I don't have that part fully thought out but they indeed do talk things out eventually.

Second, YES!!! 100 TIMES YES, John finds out that Bruce runs a business and is more than happy to help! It's gives JD stuff to do when he's not out exploring (cuz sometimes he goes out adventuring for funsies but he mostly stays on Vacay Island). He even cooks sometimes, since as the oldest brother JD would have to make food for everyone back when they all lived together.

I'd like to imagine him running around the Cantina carrying a huge plate of like nachos or smthn over his head lol

Thirdly, he's definitely the really cool and morally questionable uncle. JD lets the kids stay up sometimes, gives them a little bit more candy than they are allowed to eat, and he would watch Bruce and Brandi leave for a night out or smthn and then as soon as they're gone he turns to the kids and says "Okay, who in here wants to learn how to make traps :]". On the topic of traps, JD would absolutely teach the kids all the outdoor survival stuff that he'd learn over the years!

Tho of course, due to experience with 4 younger brothers, he still does know how to take care of them. I like to imagine that if Bruce and Brandi are both tired after a long day of work, JD would step in and make food for the kids and watch over them so that the couple can rest. They really do appreciate the extra set of hands.

Oh! And JD would 100 percent tell the kids stories about how he got each of his scars, however some stories maaaaay be a bit more exaggerated than others hehe...

Also, as a bonus, Rhonda lives on Vacay Island with the bros and Brandi. I like to believe that JD stays with Rhonda instead of the house where the others live. As for Bruce, he doesn't mind this. Bruce is very fond of Rhonda, tho he could never be as close to her as JD is but that's fine. He's actually been inside Rhonda quite a few times, he likes it in there, it makes him feel safe...

That's pretty much it for now. I've got a few things planned for this au tho so be prepared teehee 😈

#head instructor to the TAs in the lab section i TA for: how r u guys feeling abt the workload?#me who hasnt graded anything since week 1 and spent an hr that morning filling out a patient safety plan: 🙃#listen. we r experiencing symptoms that make us shitty at our job. which is not helpful for a positive outlook #i was also experiencing horrible cramps at the time bc i lost my ibuprofen and 2 days ago i stopped the birth control in a desperate effort #to stop feeling terrible. but in this moment i feel alright. its wild to go from drastically unhappy to like lol wtf was that? anyway stop #being a bby loser. for no obvious reason. im gonna start the birth control again to see if i get depressed again or if that was just me lol #i dont think my therapist understands the depth of my executive functioning issues tho. bc im a grad student and can meet deadlines. like #let me tell u im a fucking disaster abt starting things. i will go back and forth and get nothing done forever. or i do things halfway and #make everything 30 times more difficult later bc no one else understands how my brain works #ah well. itll b fine. sometimes i just get freaked out that i wanna b better and i dont kno how to do that. so i spiral in despair a lil #ill b fine. im good at catching myself before i get too out of control. annoyingly tho i am not currently beating the bip0lar allagations #bc whatever tf is wrong with me i do probably fit the diagnostic criteria for bip0lar 2. i dont kno y that freaks me out so much. i guess #its bc it feels like something i cant just make better thru force of will and i grew up in a home that was very obsessively #health conscious to the point my dad gets anxious abt taking a single ibuprofen. so like ive been conditioned to get freaked out by #medication. literally my grandma will call me and tell me to b suspicious of doctors and to not take medicine unless absolutely necessary.#like lady u r the genetic reason i have 0cd shut the fuck up. also it feels like something that would more negatively affect how ppl think #of u than saying oh yea i get depressed or i have anxiety. like the connotation feels worse im used to just telling ppl whatever tf #my problem is. so the idea of holding something back feels weird. which annoys me bc i dont think there should b so much of a stigma. its #bullshit. anyway idk. im tired. i was trying to think of a comfort tv show with my therapist and all i could think was the terror #when im depressed i wanna watch those English mother fuckers suffer and die. i just lov that show so much. harry g00dsir my beloved. the #most me coded character to ever exist #unrelated

about to give the red white and roy*l blue movie a spin even though I was like the only person in my friend group who did not adore the book aha this'll be interesting

#idk the book was cute but the political implications that the author kept hinting at while not actually following up drove me NUTSSSS #like sorry if you're gonna do a royal romance that's really hard to do while being Socially Minded about it lol #like you can't have the queen make a joke about stealing a vase from india unless you follow that up with the characters like #actually doing something to make amends for colonialism!! but no they just joke about Oh Monarchy Bad and then go about their business ahah #I kept telling people that the author either needed to fully commit to a deconstruction of the political power systems #or needed to stop throwing out quirky one-liners about it before going right back to the romance haha #like either Do The Political Work (in the novel) or leave it out of the novel you know? you can't do both!#or at least. I did not think that book did both #that being said the romance was cute so I'm curious abt the movie. have heard mixed reviews.
