what sponsors/partnerships/general pr vibes i think batfam would have if they chose to have a social media presence:
tim - levi’s. think abt it. also i see him as most likely to do stuff with a designer brand bc i say so
dick - calvin klein. i mean that glutemaster barbara got him has to pay for smth #inmycalvins #he’s soooooo #calvinsornothing
barbara - ALO YOGA and like dyson or smth i mean look at her hair. also i think she would get a lot of beauty pr probably
steph - like nike and adidas would b competing to throw money at her for an exclusive. her ass would not sign an exclusive tho
damian - fucking ummm. grammarly lmao. tbh probably same situation as stephanie
cutting it here cos i dont see anyone else doing sponsorships tbh lol

Sorry to hear about your obstacles. Try to take it all in stride. Have faith that things will work out. Do something nice for yourself. Step away if you need to. As far as Calvin goes, I have zero expectations for this new album/recording. i haven't really liked his new stuff. I know you do, but I feel like he is lazy now. Do you think he's a stoner? He always looks high in photos to me. Anyway, cheer up and it is just life :))))
It would help if I were capable of striding. <snicker> But, as it is, my life could be so much worse & I'm grateful for what I do have. Nothing is going to get done today & I've been watching yet another series on Netflix.
About v2: I like the snippets we're hearing & the dread that I would hate the album is abating. I am, however, still wary he'll drop a noxious rap into the middle of an otherwise glorious track & I'll react w/ incendiary outrage.
On laziness: I have noticed he's reusing elements from Love Regenerator. I can't remember if it was the snippet from the Devon studio or later in London but he borrowed so many layers from LR tracks that it did make me think, "You lazy bastard."
However, he has admitted he reuses layers that he likes & composing that way must be similar to making a patchwork quilt & deciding which colors & prints look best next to each other. It probably involves a lot of trial & error, which is not a lazy way to work.
It could be he makes the process more of a challenge to give himself something to overcome. From the snippet I heard, he may have succeeded in creating an entirely new song out of old layers. That would be quite a feat that few would recognize. But, those who did—like other producers—might rave about the cleverness of it & give him another Grammy Producer nom.
Stoner?: During the time he was working on v1, he did a funny story about the new super-expensive Dyson air purifier in his studio & how it wasn't good enough. Seriously, how many features did NOT smoke weed? If he wasn't already into cannabis before then, he probably got high off the second-hand smoke & started toking for medicinal <heh> purposes.
Recall one of the sponsors of the v1 launch party was Lowell Farms & there were IG-Stories that involved everyone who lived in his house smoking joints but—under the new rules—no one showed him. I really have no doubt he smokes weed. I just don't think he's a "stoner" in the traditional sense of being a dumb deadbeat. But I dunno. We don't see him often enough to accurately judge. He hasn't done a serious interview in 6 years.

Students explore career opportunities in semiconductors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I want to tell you that you don’t have to be just one thing,” said Katie Eckermann ’03, MEng ’04, director of business development at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) at a networking event for students considering careers in hard technologies. “There is a huge wealth of different jobs and roles within the semiconductor industry.”
Eckermann was one of two keynote speakers at the Design the Solution conference, presented by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Women’s Leadership Initiative, and co-sponsored by MIT.nano. Following the speaking portion of the event, attendees were invited to meet with representatives from AMD, Analog Devices, Applied Materials, Arm, Cadence Design Systems, Cisco Systems, Intel, Marvell, Micron Technology, Samsung, Synopsys, and TSMC. This annual February event was one in a series organized by the GSA Women’s Leadership Initiative and hosted at universities across the country to highlight the global impact of a career in semiconductors and recruit more women into the hard-tech ecosystem.
Eckermann was joined by John Wuu ’96, MEng ’97, senior fellow design engineer at AMD. Together, the two highlighted some of the key trends and most significant challenges of the semiconductor industry, as well as shared their career paths and advice.
Wuu highlighted the tremendous increase in computing performance in recent years, illustrated in 2022 by Hewlett Packard’s Frontier computer — calculating complex problems much faster than several other supercomputers combined. While supercomputer performance has doubled every 1.2 years over the last 30 years, power efficiency has doubled only every 2.2 years — thus underscoring a clear need to continue the pace of performance sustainably and responsibly.
“These performance improvements are not about trying to break records just for the sake of breaking records,” said Wuu. “The demand for computing is very high and insatiable, and the improvements in performance that we’re getting are being used to solve some of humanity’s most challenging and important problems — from space exploration to climate change, and more.”
Both Wuu and Eckermann encouraged students pursuing careers in semiconductors to focus on learning and stretching themselves, taking risks, and growing their network. They also emphasized the many different skill sets needed in the semiconductor industry and the common problems that often exist across different market segments.
“One of the most valuable things about MIT is that it doesn’t teach you how to recite formulas or to memorize facts, it teaches you a framework on how to think,” said Eckermann. “And when it comes down to engineering, it’s all about solving complex problems.”
Following the keynote, Deb Dyson, senior staff engineering manager at Marvell, moderated a panel discussion featuring Rose Castanares, senior vice president for business management at TSMC North America; Kate Shamberger, field technical director for the Americas at Analog Devices; and Thy Tran, vice president of global frontend procurement at Micron Technology.
The panelists described their own individual and diverse career journeys, also emphasizing the tremendous amount and variety of opportunities currently available in semiconductors.
“Everywhere you look [in the semiconductor industry], it is the epicenter of all the intersectionality of the disciplines,” said Tran. “It’s the pure sciences, the math, the engineering, application-based, theory-based — I can’t believe I got so lucky to be in this arena.”
Some key themes of the panel discussion included the importance of teamwork and understanding the people you’re working with, the development of leadership styles, and trying out different types of roles within the industry. All speakers encouraged students to identify what they like to do most and think broadly and flexibly about how they can apply their skills and interests — and, above all, to always be learning and gaining a breadth of knowledge.
“It’s important to be continually learning — not just in your field, but also adjunct to your field,” said Castanares. “It’s not about trying to prove that you’re the smartest person in the room, but the most curious person in the room — and then apply and share that knowledge.”

Christopher Paul Gardner (born February 9, 1954) is a businessman and motivational speaker. He struggled with homelessness while raising a toddler son. He became a stockbroker and founded his brokerage firm Gardner Rich & Co in 1987. In 2006, he sold his minority stake in the firm and published a memoir. That book was made into the motion picture The Pursuit of Happyness. He was born in Milwaukee to Thomas Turner and Bettye Jean Gardner. He was the second child and the only boy born to Bettye Jean. He decided to enlist in the Navy. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, where he was assigned as a hospital corpsman. He became acquainted with a decorated San Francisco cardiac surgeon, who offered him a position assisting him with innovative clinical research at the UC Medical Center and Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco. He moved to San Francisco upon his discharge from the Navy. He married Sherry Dyson (1977-1986), a Virginia native and an educational expert in mathematics. His son was born in 1981. His daughter was born in 1985, both by his girlfriend. His position as a research lab assistant paid was not enough for him to support a live-in girlfriend and a child. He quit and took a job as a medical equipment salesman. He worked to become a top trainee at Dean Witter Reynolds. In 1982, he passed his Series 7 Exam on the first try and became a full employee of the firm. He was recruited by Bear Stearns & Company in San Francisco. He accepted sole custody of his child. He and his son secretly struggled with homelessness while he saved money for a rental house in Berkeley. None of his co-workers knew they were homeless in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco for nearly a year. He scrambled to place his child in daycare, stood in soup kitchens, and slept wherever they could find safety—in his office after hours, at flophouses, motels, parks, airports, on public transport, and even in a locked bathroom at a BART station. He is a philanthropist who sponsors many charitable organizations, primarily the Cara Program and the Glide Memorial United Methodist Church, where he and his son received needed shelter. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence https://www.instagram.com/p/Coe3XDDLkzP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Get The Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum & Grab-and-Go Floor Dok For Under $600 https://ift.tt/GnSac3K This article is sponsored by QVC. This item was selected from QVC because we love it and we thought you might like it at this price. If you buy something from our links, E! makes a commission on your purchase. Prices are accurate as of publish time. Items are sold by retailer, not E!. Looking for a “versatile, lightweight cleaning champion” to make tidying up feel like less of a chore? What if it were an adaptable, high-performance vacuum that was also on sale? Enter the Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum with an included Grab-and-Go Floor Dok, now down to $580 at QVC. That’s a whopping 23% off from its usual $750, which makes this a legit deal. The vacuum includes three modes to help enhance your cleaning. There’s the “super-smart and responsive” Auto Mode, which senses and adapts to your floor type without you needing to adjust it. Boost Mode delivers an extra dose of power for heavy-duty messes. Then, there’s Eco Mode, which conserves battery power while in use to cover more space from one charge. On top of that, it’s a cordless stick vacuum that can transition to handheld vac in a breeze, and even includes the tools to match. If “ease, efficiency” and a combo charging-dock-slash-display-stand is your thing, this vacuum is the one for you. I’ve had some people asking how I still like my Tineco cordless vacuum and whether it’s worth the price point so I thought I’d post an update. Here it is handling paint chips and plaster dust.
Ideally, I should be using the shop vac for this, but it’s too cumbersome and hard for me to move with my disabilities, so Tineco to the rescue again.
I still can’t comment on how it handles pet hair because Holly doesn't shed, lol. But I will say it’s never struggled with anything I’ve thrown at it. Cleaning it out and maintaining it is easy too, which is the key to keeping it working well. The filters are easy to clean in a way that is safe for my anaphylaxis-risk dust allergies, and I still get good mileage out of the batteries on a full charge. Compared to our old, much more expensive Dyson, it’s still miles ahead and I’d replace it with another Tineco in a heartbeat.
Anyway, not a sponsored post. Just a girl in love with her vacuum and wanting to give an update after folks asked. I’m off to paint some trim with my shaky hands. Wish me luck!
