I think with zukka it’s the exact opposite as soulmates like in every way these two should’ve never even met let alone connect but they did and they do and they balance each other out in so many ways... them being together isnt fulfilling some serious destiny them being together is being able to let their guard down and being who they were never allowed to be: youthful, and playful... essentially when I think of zukka I think of laughter and the heaviness one’s heart feels when they’re nearly overwhelmed with happiness. No fate, no destiny, no titles... just being.
i think that in order to break down what sokka and zuko’s relationship means in relation to soulmates especially interpreting this relationship as romantic, we need to start with the basics. get ready for a long and probably pretty wordy ride.
let's start with the meaning of the word “soulmate” specifically in fandom. the most common perception of a soulmate in fandom is that your soulmate is quite literally the other half of your soul, meaning that without this romantic interest you are somehow incomplete. now, what the hell is a soul? according to my dear friend google, a soul is “the spirit or the essence of a person, and the part of the person that makes them who they are and will be even after death.” is it even possible to split a soul in half? well, in my opinion everyone in fandom is essentially insane, so i’d rather say that no, it is not possible for a soulmate to be the other part of your soul, or for another person fictional or otherwise to complete you as another person, fictional or otherwise (when it's fictional, a soulmate can add depth and nuance, maybe?? but not complete. what the fuck does complete even mean). i have a more interesting interpretation of the meaning of a soulmate at hand, specifically because my first language is spanish: the closest thing to the word “soulmate” in spanish is alma gemela, literally “twin soul.” i believe it is much more interesting to interpret a soulmate as a person whose soul is a mirror to yours, or a reflection. a complement. the notion that someone is perfect and made for you romantically is essentially full of shit and a very lazy mindset, but anyway.
if we’re talking about being destined to meet a person, or being different faces of the same coin, or stuff like that, then of course this is a thing in fiction. aang and zuko and katara are definitely soulmates in terms of being destined to meet and change each other in a meaningful and earth-shattering way. the concepts of destiny and fate are not only an actual thing in atla, but also very prominent and loud in themes and narrative, and in the mindsets and beliefs of the characters themselves; it heavily influences their actions and approach to other characters, especially zuko. from his perspective, zuko’s dynamic with aang throughout the show and in general (meaning before and after he joined the gaang) is in part shaped by his sense of morality, and in part by his belief that his destiny is somehow intertwined with aang’s (he was right, of course), similarly to how katara approached aang (too, as a beacon of hope) or even how she saw zuko as a definitive enemy (in contrast to how sokka saw zuko as pretty much a fool and a recurrent inconvenience) aang, katara, and zuko’s dynamics with each other are all somehow related to destiny, the general concept of soulmates as a mirror of your soul, whether consciously or unconsciously. this is part of what makes them the central thematic trio and the heart of the show.
knowing all this, let’s go back to sokka and zuko. in short, as i’ve said before, to each other they are just… some guys. to elaborate, to sokka, zuko was just 1) some guy in the way, another inconvenience that occasionally got in between him and in his business with the avatar, whom he didn’t respect at all and didn’t think of as an enemy, 2) just some guy to be wary of for all of the aforementioned reasons, and 3) some guy, but cool and nice and a friend, possibly a love interest?? idk we’ll see!! meanwhile to zuko, sokka was 1) some guy in the way, another inconvenience that occasionally got in between him and in his business with the avatar, whom he didn’t respect at all and didn’t think of as an enemy, 2) some guy, who is amazing and cool and he will break into a prison with him because why not?? so we can safely say, while there are direct parallels between them and are definitely connected in some spiritual way (as are all of the gaang, in my opinion!!), sokka and zuko themselves do not know that. the weight of being meant-to-be in their relationship is nonexistent, and i definitely agree that they can relax around each other in that sense, especially zuko (who believes in destiny therefore i mention him a lot, in comparison to sokka who does not believe in destiny therefore doesn’t carry the weight of anf his relationships being shaped by it which. they arguably are, as it is a story that was predefined, but that’s for another day). it’s been talked about that the most compelling thing about sokka and zuko’s relationship revolves around the concept of choice. the boiling rock is the only life-changing field trip that zuko was initially denied, but insisted on going anyway. he decided to go out of pure selflessness, solely to help sokka, in contrast to him being quite literally required to go as aang’s teacher/to prove himself and get katara off his back (as well as other subconsious reasons, that, too, for another day). zuko went with sokka because he thought he was dope, and as we all know zuko cannot do anything half-way so he decided he would die for the guy (valid of him, by the way). their entire relationship is just subversion after subversion after subversion.
it’s also related to sokka being just some guy, not only as he believes himself to be but also how sokka is pretty much the fourth part of the thematic triangle that aang katara and zuko have going on. he balances each of their pure hearts and idealism with a sharp mind and bitchy but useful pessimism. sokka being just some guy to zuko’s deuteragonist is the thematic equivalent of sokka being a main character and suki being a secondary character. it works because the weight of universal forces just isn’t there, and it works better than (in my opinion!!) katara and zuko or (to a lesser degree) aang and katara being romantically involved for the same reasons.
and anyway. when it comes to fandom interpretation, it’s very easy to think of every parallelism/symbolism as a sign of two characters being meant to be together romantically, or whatever. and while it is fun, most parallels (at least among the gaang) are mostly to show how the characters are able to understand and connect with each other whether romantically or platonically (and the destiny in fiction thing i’m too tired to talk about again), so the parallels between sokka and zuko are not entirely irrelevant to their romantic potential — people are also quick to think every parallel/trope/catchy line about their relationship is shallow and stupid and soulmates suck anyway!! and therefore i’m asking you all to calm down and find a middle ground. not every parallel/trope/etc is romantic and not every parallel/trope/etc is dumb and irrelevant. when it comes to the infamous “prince and the fool” for example, some people take it as the ultimate proof of their love and some think it’s utter nonsense and a cheap version of the zvtara’s moon/sun dynamic. and both of them are wrong!! “the prince and the fool” is in fact pretty much like “the wise and the brave” of katara and sokka. it is merely a descriptive of the way they act with each other, the way their differences balance each other, the way they contrast each other, etc etc. they do work as descriptive on their own, but not as well as they work when put together; yes, sokka is wise, but how wise? what is the standard for him to be considered wise, or even the opposite? sokka being wise works in terms of aesthetic, character, dynamic, etc etc, only if katara is being brave right besides him. zuko is a prince, sure, but what else is there? what is the alternative? you can call sokka a fool (and you would be wrong, by the way) but what does that word alone bring to his character?
to conclude, i believe the thing about sokka and zuko’s relationship is that there’s nothing definitive to it by universal order — or rather, while it might exist, it's definitely to a lesser degree than other relationships in their lives, therefore the characters themselves don't notice it and there's no pressure to fulfill any prophecies; they just are, and they just do. you can have a passionate and true love without it being the sole meaning of your existence, or your sole motivation and priority in your life. it’s clear that in case they were romantically involved they wouldn’t even be the person they love the most (as it is very clear the person sokka loves the most is katara (!!!), while zuko’s is probably iroh?? idk). i believe the best part of a romantic relationship between sokka and zuko is that they are just some guys, maybe not to the universe but to each other. if they have to choose each other as they do, if they just get each other as well as they do, who care about each other a shit ton even if not any more than their other friends and family but just a little differently, while they aren’t canonically soulmates the way aang and zuko or aang and katara are (while the potential is there) i’d go as far as to say they are some sort of kindred spirits. i think it all depends on how you define soulmates, really.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 3: What to Expect
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The following contains spoilers for Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 2.
The second season of the animated series Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, released on Netflix on Jan. 22, answered a lot of lingering questions from season one. But another cliffhanger ending has left fans roaring for more.
With a whole island to explore and a few years of blank timeline between Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom, the creative team has a lot of elements to play around with. What do we think we’ll see if Netflix spares no expense and gives us a third season?
Escape
As de facto team leader Darius declares this season, they aren’t waiting for rescue any more; the campers are going to find a way off the island by themselves. And they have proven they have what it takes, having constructed every kid‘s dream treehouse in the rubble of Camp Cretaceous. They built every kid’s dream treehouse, a multi-level affair with a shower and slides; surely they can build a raft to get them out to the boat big game hunter Tiff was escaping on when she was killed by a pair of Baryonyx.
And a rescue still may be coming. In the beginning of the season, the kids activated an emergency beacon, and somebody received it. Combined with the resources and influential friends Kenji’s dad likely has access to, it would be hard to believe there isn’t somebody out there trying to reach these kids. Maybe camp counselors Dave and Roxy, whom we haven’t seen since the end of season one?
Will Hap Return?
Hap, the gruff and scarred guide hired by big game hunters Mitch and Tiff, sacrificed himself to save the kids from a trio of pursuing dinosaurs in episode six. But neither of us nor the kids actually saw him die. I’m not saying it’s likely he’s alive, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. The show has already brought back Ben, a character the others assumed was dead. And Hap did seem awfully suspicious about the innocuous looking master keycard Brooklynn had, despite it being very unlikely he had ever seen one before.
Unless he had been to the island before, or knew someone who had. Hap is probably gone, but the number one fictional character survival tip is often “have an overabundance of unexplained backstory,” and season two definitely hints at him having that.
What Will Happen to Bumpy?
It’s time to talk about the asymmetrical Ankylosaurus in the room. Bumpy, a hatchling from season one who has grown into a beautiful armored tank and Ben’s constant companion, has a very distinctive appearance. One would think it would be easy to recognize her if she was in Fallen Kingdom, but none of the ankylosaurs in the movie seem to be her.
Assuming the kids escape the island, it’s not likely they would take her with them. As much as Bumpy is part of the family, she is a dinosaur and she belongs in the wild, which will probably lead to a tearful goodbye from everyone involved, Ben in particular. After that, her absence from Fallen Kingdom doesn’t seem to bode well for her fate. But this is still a children’s show, and some characters are just too cute to go extinct. I’m not sure how, I’m not sure where, but Bumpy will survive.
What is E750?
E750 is the designation given to a mysterious experiment housed in a cryogenics facility deep within the tunnels under the park. Brooklynn spends much of season two investigating the code name, first seen in Dr. Henry Wu’s laboratory in season one, where it was labeled “Clinical trials.” At the very end of the second season finale, thanks to electrical malfunctions, E750, whatever it is, wakes up.
While Jurassic World: Dominion director Colin Trevorow has stated that the third movie in the trilogy will not feature any hybrids, there are at least two years between season two of Camp Cretaceous and Fallen Kingdom, which is the next time we see anyone visit Isla Nublar. Plenty of time for an as of yet unseen hybrid to terrorize the campers before meeting its fate at the jaws of the mosasaur or the bottom of a cliff.
It could also be another Indominus rex. After all, the one that kickstarted the Jurassic World incident had a sibling. She killed and ate the other one soon after hatching, but the phrase “Clinical trials” implies something medical. Maybe trying to regrow an entire dinosaur from the parts left over after Indy’s dinner? It’s not that far fetched. Whatever E750 is and whatever DNA was used to fill in the gaps, it helped her survive being frozen. Why not a little regeneration?
The Camp Fam
At its heart, Camp Cretaceous isn’t about dinosaurs trying to eat people. It’s about family. Dinosaur families trying to eat people, sure, but mostly the found family Sammy has dubbed the “camp fam.” Comprised of six teenagers and one dinosaur who likely never would have been friends if not for the Jurassic World incident thrusting them together, the camp fam has already grown and changed because of the friendships developed on the island. Kenji learning the value of work ethic, Yaz learning to take it easy, Ben learning that you can still love hand sanitizer while being a badass.
As they continue trying to survive and escape, each teenager will have to discover who they truly are and want to be. Some fans are hoping this will include romance, especially noting Yaz’s apparent crush on Sammy, but whether it’s romantic or platonic, the love is strong in this camp fam. Whatever future seasons have in store, one thing is easy to predict: as long as they have each other, the kids will be alright.

Let’s get a few things straight, shall we? One. Logan is not straight. Second, Logan could absolutely get used to waking up like this. Patton must have adjusted the lawyer for instead of sitting comfortably in the corner he was laying down with a pillow under his head and a blanket covering him. It took him a moment to recognize the warmth he felt around his arms and chest, that is until Remus squirms slightly, clutching tighter to Logan. He lets out a soft yawn before carefully sitting up trying not to wake up the twins. He moves Valerie first setting her softly on the pillow, she stutters but promptly falls back asleep. Remus turns out to be harder, clearly whether subconsciously or not sticks to Logan. Finally removing the tight grasp of the twin he sets Remus next to his sister, pulling the blanket above them for warmth.
“Apples don't have pits” Remus mumbles softly, rolling over with the blanket. Logan smiles softly, guess he listens. His tired eyes dart around the room, blinds aren't fully closed allowing some early sun to bleed in. He yawns once more covering it with his arm, moving stiffly to the kitchen.
“Good...morning” Logan would have jumped but he didn't know if he was fully conscious. He turns slowly his eyes set on a sleepy Patton, standing under the arch of the kitchen in his pajamas. There are a few things Logan can't explain, but the overwhelming need to take Patton in his arms and kiss him good morning might take the cake. The way Patton fiddles with the ends of his shirt, the soft shuffling of his bunny slippers as he yawns in place makes Logan, in the most professional sense, swoon.
“Good morning...Patton” His eyes slowly track the lawyer, his breath catches for just a moment. How could a person look so...perfect at all times? “I apologize, did I disturb your sleep?” He questions, Patton chuckles sweetly shaking his head. Their voices contain pleasant whispers.
“No no...I usually wake up early, so much to do” He mentions making his way further into the kitchen, Logan steps aside. “Coffee dea-” He stops himself, taking a deep breath, the pot of coffee shakes in his hand. “Would you like coffee Logan?” He corrects, Logan fears his own words. The silence consumes the room but his thoughts were pulsing. The same question in his mind, he knew the answer but was afraid of how he felt.
“Yes, I would enjoy some if it isn't too much trouble” He decides, ignoring anything really. He rubs uncomfortably at his clothes from the previous night. Patton notices gasping carefully.
“it's no trouble at all, are you alright?” He asks, Logan tilts his head raising an eyebrow. “I just mean your clothes, I have some clothes you could borrow” He suggests, Logan wouldn't be needing the coffee anymore, his eyes shoot open. He coughs as Patton returns to serving a delectable cup of freshly brewed coffee. He hands the cup gently to Logan their hands meeting for a moment, the slight shock from the carpet running through them. “Oh! I'm sorry!” Patton rushes pulling away, Logan shakes his head.
“It's alright, just friction and electricity” Logan tries, he's much too tired to explain anything. He gestures towards the table, Patton nods following him and sitting next to him. “What are your plans for the day?” Logan inquires, Patton yawns, his nose scrunching as he does so.
“Mmm,” He hums, stirring his coffee slowly “I'm not sure, Emile and Remy asked to babysit the twins so I am free for a while…” He recalls mentally going over his day “I was um…” He pauses meeting Logans trying eyes behind his glasses “I was thinking of working on...the case” He whispers, Logan takes a breath.
“Well if you would...want some assistance or company on that...I would..” Logan struggles not sure how to offer his help, Patton smiles taking Logan's hand.
“Thank you, Lo” He assures, for a moment the soft snoring of the twins, the morning noises as the earth wakes from its slumber...everything just falls away. It's these moments Patton treasures, where he can allow himself to get lost in someone. Feeling the ever soft fiddling of Logan's fingers in his own, the way his eyes sparkle during a conversation, the way his hair sits perfectly messy atop his head. The clock chimes, echoing through the house causing Patton to pull away. He averts his gaze looking anywhere but Logan's eyes. “I was going to visit Roman later tonight, would you like to join me?” Patton asks planning what he will bring the judge, maybe some sweet treats.
“One hundred percent” Virgil joins in, his voice causing both lawyers to jump, not giving Logan a chance to respond. Patton greets him with a warm smile and a light squeeze to the arm as the detective passes by for his own cup of coffee. A few moments later tired scurrying enters the room, Damian clutching to one of Patton's guest bedroom pillows. He eyes the lawyers curiously before following his father into the kitchen.
“How did you guys sleep?” Patton calls out from his table, the twins stir but they sleep deep. Virgil returns a moment after grumbling as his little son follows his almost every step, clearly creating a game of his own with it. Remus used to do just that, Patton recalls smiling fondly at the shy boy. He must have misstepped or forgot to look as he ended up bouncing right into his father's legs, hugging them for stability. Patton laughs gently allowing Damian to focus his attention towards Patton, waving coyly with his small hands towards his uncle.
“What are you doing down there?” Virgil teases picking up his son as he giggles ferociously. He buries his head into Virgil as the detective sits on the other side of Logan. Patton stands finishing his own beverage placing the hand-made china delicately in the sink for a later wash. He then proceeds to journey towards the couch where Remus and Valerie have somehow managed to cuddle with one another. Patton strokes their heads sweetly, all three yawning in unison. Remus wakes first instantly grabbing one of his father's fingers squeezing it.
“Morning crabcake” Patton whispers as Logan and Virgil continue a soft conversation in the background. Remus’s eyes flutter open as he sits up, his legs spread as he places his arms in the space between rubbing his crusted eyes.
“Mormin” He mumbles incoherently. “Day?” He mutters, to the normal person this would just be another child's weird thoughts but Patton knows his children well.
“You're going to spend the day with Remy and Emile!” Patton exclaims. Remus gives two thumbs up before falling dramatically backward onto the couch, Valerie grumbles kicking her brother annoyed. They commence in a small, tired fight before Valerie gives up crawling into her father's arm deciding that's her new resting spot. Remus, feeling left out, jumped upon his father resting in his others arms. Logan and Virgil look up both gain an increasing smile at the trio's antics.
“Home now?” Damian wonders tugging on his father's jacket. Virgil yawns nodding, he stands to gather what few things he has including Damian's candy from the previous night. Patton makes his way over to him allowing Remus to somehow slither away from him to greet Logan. The lawyer had grown quite comfortable and used to Remus’s ways and fully welcomed the young boy in his arms.
“Yes home now” Virgil confirms, Patton smiles at them from afar. Virgil pulls him into a hug, a hug he wished he had given Roman. “I will meet you guys at the hospital later, thanks Pat” Virgil nods, Patton shakes Damian's small hand much to the boy's glee before they make their way out of the house, disappearing behind the door.
“Remus I would kindly ask you to refrain from messing with my hair” Logan interjects Patton's thoughts, the father spins instantly turning red as Remus uses Logans head as his canvas. Patton is never embarrassed by his kids but there are times when he wishes they wouldn't act on impulse. He glances incredibly apologetic towards Logan barely pulling Remus off of Logan.
“I'm so sorry” He regrets releasing the twins into their bedroom, listening as they cause commotion every step of the way.
“Don't be” Logan assures, Patton sighs just in time as the doorbell rings. Patton makes his way towards the door opening it, Emile acts first waving excitedly as Remy simply makes his way into the house.
“Are there two munchkins in this house or what?!” Remy exclaims, Patton politely invites Emile in laughing at the detective. Sure enough, two excited pairs of feet return to the common area squealing with delight as they jump into Remy's arms. “Well if it isn't thing one and thing two” He greets, they hug him, squeezing him possibly a little too tight.
“Uncle Rem!” They manage through their absolute enthrallment, Logan wonders if he could ever procure such a reaction. Emile swears he's swooned multiple times, watching his partner lovingly from afar.
“Thank you so much for doing this, I would take them with me but I don't want them to see Ro in such a… dismal state” Patton informs, Emile takes his arms shaking his head.
“Always and thank you, I think it'll be great for us…” Emile admits now watching Remy ‘tackle’ the twins on the floor, screeching in ungodly laughter. “And hey if he wakes up shoot us a text and we’ll bring them over” Emile adds turning to Patton.
“Thank you” He gives a quick lean before making his way towards his things, making sure he has his belongings. “Oh! And Virge will be dropping Damian off in a little bit” He remembers, Emile nods. “I am going to go change, I will be right back” He announces returning after a moment fully clothed. Logan stands straightening out his own outfit feeling tight. Patton kneels in front of the now calm twins, they stare expectantly.
“Hello, Papa!” Valerie greets using her small hands to boop her father's nose. Remus falls back into Remy's lap giggling, clearly recovering from an adrenaline rush.
“Hello Valerie” Patton replies booping her right back, she swats her nose. “Alright, you two are going to be on your best behavior right?” They nod in unison, a little too fast. “Good, well Papa loves you and will see you later,” He says giving them both a kiss on the forehead. They wave him goodbye before returning to their own game. Logan stands following Patton towards the door, Remus looks up waving him goodbye with a cheery grin. They step out of the house making their way towards the sidewalk.
“Do you ever worry about leaving them?” Logan ponders out loud
“Not if its someone I trust, and I trust them” Patton responds. They settle silently into the car, a nagging thought pulls at Logan.
Would you trust me?
~~~
“Well well well, look who finally came to visit me!” Roman greets, a proud smile across his face. Patton freezes rejoicing in a squeal running towards his friend. A careful hug is shared between the pair, only so much can be done with Roman's injury and the fact that he now resides in a bed. Logan follows closing the door, he smiles relieved at the judge who acknowledges it.
“Oh Ro! You're awake!” Patton claps, he sits at the end of the bed now still holding onto Romans hand afraid to let it go. “We were so worried” Logan recognizes the difference, it's softer and freer. Patton isn't checking every word that falls out of his mouth, its...childish almost. As opposed to how he speaks to his children or in court. Fascinating, Logan decides.
“Well I'm ok now padre, a little roughed up but nothing a Reial cant handle” Roman beams, Patton squeezes his hand. “Now, let's get-
“Roman?” No one heard him come in, his steps were so soft, so cautious. Patton and Logan jerk their heads towards the door a very stricken Virgil stands, his eyes fixated on the judge. “Y-you're…” He starts pushing past his shock and moving into the room. Logan and Patton share a thought before leaving the room, closing the door.
“I hear I have you to thank for m-” Being cut off by a hug was not...something Roman was against. Especially from Virgil, He hugs back not realizing exactly how terrified he felt until Virgil was practically clinging to him, afraid if he let go Roman might just slip through his fingers. “Virge-crushing...can't breathe” Roman tries, Virgil lets go frantically.
“Sorry, sorry” He checks himself, scanning Roman up and down. “I just...missed you” He admits, Roman laughs hiding his own blush. “How are you feeling?”
“Like someone poisoned me” Roman replies, Virgil gives a small smirk cocking his head. “If I wasn't so mad I would be pretty excited! Like talk about a mystery” Roman rants, the amount of relief Virgil feels cannot be described. “Hey…” Roman pouts examining the room, the cold walls swallowing his excitement “Where are the kiddos?” He pokes, Virgil smiles softly.
“Rem and Emile have them, I'll tell them you're awake...I'm sure they would all love to see you” He comforts, knowing he has to but hating the thought Virgil lets go of Romans hands, lingering maybe a little too long. He opens his phone sending a quite rushed text to Remy, his partner responding fast assuring him that they will be there soon, then once he regains his composure turns back to Roman. The judge stares at him, and for a moment it really is just them. “I should get Patton and Logan” Virgil coughs, oblivious he truly was.
“Right...right” Roman nods, avoiding Virgil's eyes, a disappointed gaze falling on the bed. The detective uses this as a cue to venture outside calling in his friends, they enter halting their conversation. “So what're the haps! What did I miss? C’mon pocket protector, anyone new in your life?” It just slipped out, Roman was still dealing with the debris of anesthesia. Logan froze, raising his eyebrows. Patton shifts uncomfortably sharing a glance with Virgil.
“I brought some treats!” Patton announces, hoping his voice isn't as shaky as it feels. The green-eyed monster is no fun, that's what Patton always told his kids. But the thought hadn't crossed his mind, what if Logan did have someone else? He would eventually, would he not? He would fall in love and…
“Treats!” Roman cheers, making grabby hands towards the snacks, clearly wanting to push away the previous interaction. Patton crosses the room ignoring the two pairs of eyes watching him handing Roman some delectable sweets. He fans himself quickly, wanting the amber color upon his face to leave. “I love food, I feel like I haven't eaten in ages” Roman stuffs some food in his mouth, chomping down even more. A chime from his phone distracts Virgil from the conversation.
“Hey, Remy and Emile just got here” Though fast, they were apparently on their way to the park so it made sense. Patton nods assuming he would be joining Virgil in his quest to recover the children. Roman sits up feeling discordant as Virgil prepares to leave, he makes no sound but his eyes say enough. “Ro, I'll be right back” He assures, Roman gives a grateful nod, returning to a comfortable position. Soon they left venturing through the harrowed halls to meet up with Remy and Emile.
“Roman...are you alright?” Logan checks, unlike the others he stands at the end of the bed. Roman takes a moment, sorting his own thoughts. His body feels off, he feels as though any remnants of adrenaline have just drained away.
“I think so?” Logan cocks his head trying to comprehend “I-i don't know, to be honest, I just feel...here” Roman motions to the bed, trying to grasp the concept. Logan takes a breath averting his eyes, he himself cant exactly connect to what Roman is saying or feeling but it wouldn't do him good to not try. He wants to continue the conversation, his friend clearly needing someone to talk to but it seems the deafening screams from down the hall have other ideas.
“Guys!” Patton cries in warning but the trio has other ideas. Damian wriggles free from Virgil's hold first unfortunately intercepted by Logan who scoops him up. The twins use this distraction to escape Emile and Patton's clutches but a newly freehanded Virgil stops them in their tracks. Damian balls his fists hitting an unaffected Logan in the shoulder, wishing nothing more than to be set free.
“Wanna ...see...RoRo” He begs in between each hit, Logan might have laughed it was such a soft touch. Virgil relinquishes hold over Remus giving him to a now recovered Patton. Roman, who has been gleefully but also nervously watching the collision, laughs. “Hnng!” Damian now tries a different approach, trying to push himself free of Logan.
“You guys have to be careful ok?” Patton informs, Logan gives a knowing look towards Damian who pouts in return. “One at a time, uncle Roman is very fragile right now” Patton advises, instantly the clamoring starts up again.
“I wanna go first!” Damian squeals raising his arms high
“No me!” Remus retorts squirming excessively in Patton's arms.
“He's my uncle!” Valerie argues, Virgil stifles a soft chuckle.
“Mine too!” Remus tells her, Valerie sticks her tongue out.
“He's my dad!” Damian shouts Virgil couldn't get much paler. Logan and Patton dart their eyes towards the very frozen father, Roman possibly a little too hopeful, looks too. Valerie takes this moment to jump on the bed as Virgil's grip loosened.
“Val careful!” Patton warns moving closer, Virgil shakes his head grounding himself. Valerie heeds her father's warning, moving slowly on the bed until she's safe in Romans arms, enveloped in a hug. Over the shoulder, the judge could see Logan watching wearily, but Roman knew what he felt now; Happy and relieved. That's how he always felt around the kids.
“How is my favorite princesa?” Roman asks as the hyper girl pulls away, sitting idle on the bed.
“I went trick-or-treating!” She manages, Roman grins allowing her to continue, “I was a princess warrior! And Remus was my duke-
“Hey! That's me!” Remus points out to his father, Patton nods laughing slightly. Remus removes his fingers from his mouth giving a slobbery wave to Roman. The judge waves back re-centering his attention to the patient girl.
“And Dee was a wizard! And Papa was a cat! And mister Logan was something called LoLo” Valerie shrugs, Patton and Virgil stifle laughs ushering their eyes away from a reddened Logan. “And then we had a big sleepover!” Valerie finishes throwing her triumphant hands in the air.
“That sounds awesome Val!” Roman notes and it did. It proved challenging for Roman to smile as he learned about everything he missed or was missed from. Valerie nods as Emile takes his cue to remove her from the bed. “Alright, who's next?” Roman jokes. Remus, who has been waiting quite frantically, pushes against Patton trying to steer him forward. Patton sighs deciding not to fight, he transfers his son to Roman who waits with open arms to retrieve the young boy.
“Hello!” Remus greets hugging Roman, the judge hugs back. Once separated neither say a word, Remus simply bounces excitedly. The room waits, Patton and Logan share a glance, Patton shrugs. “I didn't think this far” Remus admits after a moment, Roman falls against his pillow practically wheezing. “I'm done! Bye-bye uncle Ro!” Remus waves proceeding to make grabby hands towards his father. Logan sets Damian on the bed, he stands on the comfy mattress waddling around. Virgil sits at the end of the bed watching carefully.
“Heya Dee!” Roman catches the curious boys' attention, he smooths out a part of the sheets before plopping down. Patton yawns, somehow he must have lost himself tuning out the conversation. As it continues Patton excuses himself leaving Emile in charge of Remus.
Patton has been through these hallways more times than he should have, visiting, being a patient here, and of course...the birth of the twins. It was hard to associate happy or sad feelings when its been pretty balanced. He's been here enough to know it like the back of his hand, he knows that to get to the coffee cart he has to go through the nursery, which he has no qualms about.
He stops in front of the window waving sweetly to the newborns, some giggling, some resting some not so happy but still adorable. He spots the place where Remus and Valerie once were, now occupied by two equally adorable babies.
“Which one's yours?” A woman asks approaching, Patton moves aside politely smiling.
“Oh, I'm not- none...just reminiscing I guess,” He says, his eyes still fixed. “And you?”
“That one, to the left” She gestures, Patton's eyes fall onto a small baby, smaller than the rest. The label reads female yet no name has been written. “She's my life,” The mother tells, Patton knows the feeling, and he's said the words.
“She's beautiful, any ideas for her name?” Patton wonders, the woman sighs content.
“We were thinking…”
~~~
“...Valerie” Patton beams, he points to the baby in the next crib over “And that's Remus” He informs. He knows he should be giving his attention but he can't take his eyes off of them.
“Pat they're beautiful” Barbara swoons, waving brightly at the babies. “I'm sorry I missed the birth” She atones, Patton waves her off too happy to care. Patton takes a moment to breathe, placing his hands over his chest.
“Don't be, you're here now and that's what matters Babs” Patton assures, Barbara links her arms with his, resting her head on his shoulder. “Hey, you're an aunt now” Patton teases, Barbara gasps softly.
“Oh my! I guess I am” She jokes back, she swears Valerie smiled at her. “I'm sorry mom and dad arent here” She laments, Patton knew this was coming. Patton leans slightly, his head resting a bit on his sisters.
“You know they would if…” He trails off, Barbara sighs lifting herself. They both know exactly why they aren't there, it doesn't make it easier. Patton won't lie, he held out the slightest hope that maybe...just maybe they would put their opinions aside and come to see their grandchildren.
“I know” Barbara shakes her head, nudging Patton softly “Hey! Don't let that get you down, you have kids! Pat, this is all you've wanted for a long time and look at them, they're perfect” Baraba gushes, Patton laughs nodding. Barbara takes a look around the hallways “Hey, where's Liam?” Before Patton has a chance to respond, a new voice joins the mix.
“Probably off disappointing Jesus” Marcy quips handing Barbara and Patton their cups of coffee. Barbara frowns, nudging Marcy carefully. Marcy returns the gesture with a loving kiss on the cheek.
“Marce” She whispers, Marcy shrugs sipping from her own drink. “I'm sure he’ll be here” Barbara hopes, Marcy scoffs and Patton has to appreciate her honesty. No, he won't, Patton thinks but gives them both a grateful smile. “Where are the others?”
“Uh...Lo and Roman got held up in court, Virge is at a crime scene but he should be here soon” Patton scratches his head trying to recall the position of all his friends. “Emile and Remy stopped by earlier and went to go get some food for everyone” Patton finishes, Barbara and Marcy nod taking in the information.
“Just means more baby time for us” Barbara jokes, Patton chuckles “Have you held them?” She inquires, Patton releases a breath his shoulders fall.
“Yeah” He barely whispers “Yeah right after they were born, the doctor just…” Patton trails off staring at the twins with a look he would come to use many a time, lovingly he stares.
“I apologize for the interruption Mister Hart” Patton swerves turning to the doctor, she smiles at the other two. “Your husband has arrived” She informs leading them away, Patton huffs.
“He is not my husband” He retorts softly, Marcy takes his shoulders as they walk.
“That means you technically have full custody over the children, seeing as you are the legal guardian and the adoption papers have-” Marcy recites bluntly only stopping as Barbara pleads, Patton purses his lips nodding ‘thankfully’. “Apologies”
“Have I ever told you how much you remind me of Logan?” Patton remarks, should he be the person on his mind? Probably not but Patton couldn't wait for his friends to meet the twins.
“Oh…” Marcy sighs dryly “Wonderful”
“Don't sound so excited” Barbara comments following her wife and brother down the saddened halls.
~~~
“I'm getting really sick and tired of this” Remy sighs ushering himself under some yellow tape stepping into another apartment. Carlton laughs dryly following in after him, Remy chooses to ignore this furthering himself into the room.
“Detective Nyx, good to see you again” Talyn greets, Remy meets them halfway shaking their hand.
“Same goes for you, though I wish it was under uh...better less murderous circumstances” He admits only half-joking. Carlton squeezes past them examining the rest of the scene.
“Hows Emile?” They ask guiding Remy through the house, he shrugs, trying to avoid the uneasy perfection that the house maintains.
“Good, he's with my friend at the hospital so...if we could wrap this up?” He hopes, Talyn scoffs. “Yeah thought so” He mumbles to himself, Talyn finishes at the bodies. “Two bodies?”
“Seems like it, well my boys are basically done here so the crime scene is all yours” Talyn insists patting Remy a farewell leaving their notes on the table. Remy gives them a peace sign goodbye watching them go.
“Doesn't seem like his style” Carlton comments approaching Remy, the apartment falls silent as the last of the forensics team leaves. “Although recently nothing seems like his style” Carlton points out, Remy finally agrees.
“Tell me about it” Remy breathes, he kneels in front of the remains nothing but two letters stain the house with the memory. The memory of the treacherous acts committed here. “L…and...I” Remy notes scribbling the two letters down, Carlton looks around.
“Spell anything new?” He questions, Remy shuts his notes.
“I'll have to check when we get back to the precinct” Remy decides, he examines the rest of the floor, slowly moving around the walls and ceiling. Nothing is out of place, nothing is even touched. “I'm gonna update Virge, let him know what's happening” Remy informs Carlton, his fellow detective nods as Remy sends an informative text.
“Where is he by the way?” Carlton inquires
“Uh Roman woke up so I told him he should probably stay” Remy replies, Carlton stands after looking over the area.
“Oh that's good, did they ever figure out who poisoned him?” Carlton slips, he continues casually tracing the apartment. The next few moments become crucial. Remy nods slowly, making his way carefully to the door, praying Carlton stays turned around long enough. He opens the lock they had for safety, the click echoes through the apartment. What he did not expect was another click, a loud one, a clatter to the ground.
“We never told anyone he was poisoned” Remy bites, his breathing shallow. He turns to raise his hands above his head. He's stared down the barrel of a gun many times but never had he felt so much anger. And so stupid, how did he not see it?
“That's what tipped you off?” Carlton teases, he holds control now, he can say whatever. Remy seethes, he plays loosely with his fingers, inching closer to his own gun. Carlton smirks, his face morphing behind his own sunglasses. “Should've given you more credit, thinking Virgil would be the problem” Carlton laughs, it's sickly, could be the fumes but Remy claims it's his voice giving him a headache. “Took care of that…”
“What the fuck did you do?” Remy whispers viciously, Carlton tilts his head. Remy swallows his throat pushing the pain down as it travels.
“It's not what I did to him” Carlton adjusts the gun in his hand, it wouldn't sit still. Clearly, he wasn't comfortable with it, not his weapon of choice. “But poor Roman…”  He pouts mockingly “I was pretty upset when he came out alive, but then I realized I could get two birds with one stone”
“Why are you telling me this? I know I'm not walking out of here alive so why bother?” Remy begs, keeping his composure cool, he turns sharply to the door locking it. Carlton re-determines the power he holds but allows the motion. Remy doesn't want anyone else to suffer, anyone else to bleed red at the hands of someone who mocks their life.
“So you can die-” He clicks his gun again, Remy tries not to flinch but its so silent. The smallest noise feels like a flood into his ears. “With an ending, it would be unfair of me to...not tell you my happy ever after” Carlton jokes, Remy takes a deep breath, shutting his eyes. Even if just for a moment, to be anywhere but here. And asking why in the hell he didn't turn his ringer off. The buzzing itself was loud, but the cheery tune playing out was worse. Carlton glares, moving closer to the detective, he grabs Remy's phone from his holster, reading the caller ID.
“Carl-” Remy's desperate now
“Quiet,” He smiles, turning the phone to Remy “Looks like a murder a day, doesn't keep the doctor away” Remy fights to keep his breathing steady, as the illuminated photo of Emile flashes on screen. He remembers when he took that photo, their first date. Emile had spotted a dog, and his face just lit up, how could Remy not capture the moment? He's had it ever since, longing for simpler times, crazy what mortality can do to a person. “Pick it up, I don't need people worrying, and hey...if I hear even one falter” He warns, Remy exhales but takes the phone. His fingers trembling over the green light.
“Hey, Em...what's up?” He whispers, Carlton clears his throat. “What's up?” He asks clearly now, anything that was stuck in his throat, swallowed with any hope he had to survive and any hope to keep Emile as far away from this as he could manage.
“Rem! I have the best news” He knew it was coming, and yet… as soon as Emile's voice made its way through the phone, into Remy's ear, he couldn't. He held the phone away from his mouth, stifling very fearful sobs. “Remy? You still there? You alright?” A faded call.
“Y-yeah I'm ok...I'm ok, what's uh...what's the news?” He regains his posture, it's easy when Carlton's aim had not budged.
“The adoption agency! They called just now, someone picked us!” He exclaims, there really aren't words to describe the stabbing pain Remy felt. Carlton didn't even have to shoot the gun for Remy to feel the agony.
“Someone...picked us?” He begs his voice remains so soft, Emile's delighted squeals from the other line confirming his question. “That's...that's wonderful Em…” He mutters, his lips pursed quickly. Just a little longer. Carlton gestures for him to hurry up. Impatient, Remy notes, great. If he wasn't so terrified, he would be pissed. This bitch, Remy thinks, surprisingly the familiarity calmed something in the detective. “Babe, I'm so sorry, I gotta go...new development and stuff” His voice is perfectly normal, perfectly calm, perfectly Remy. The same cannot be said for his face.
“Oh! Alright, well lunch tomorrow, and I'll see you tonight” No you won't “If you can make it home of course” I can't “Love you!” I love you so much. Remy holds the phone to his chest as the dial tone plays.
“So...its you” Remy states hearing the line go dead
“Not necessarily”
Well, shit
So I have a lot of thoughts on that #macriley sneak peek (not the Scouts one, but the other), and felt like expressing them. I just started getting back into the groove of posting on here, so I haven’t done much fandom wise except a little on Twitter. As a loyal Macriley fan from day one though, I wanted to bring about some reassurance. I saw a lot of people concerned about the sneak peek ruining Macriley’s friendship (whether you ship it romantically or platonic, of course), and that was my initial thought too. However, the more I think on it, the better I’m feeling. Now, please take this with a grain of salt, lol. I still don’t have super high hopes because CBS likes to screw with us. But hang in there! Some points and observations I’d like to bring to light are beneath the cut:
Mac definitely was not happy that Riley’s in a relationship. Whether it’s jealousy or upset that she kept it from him or not is unclear just from the clip. My suspicions say it’s both. Because of course he’s a little hurt that she straight up denied it to him, but the kicker was that six months line. He visibly seemed disgruntled by that more than the fact that she lied to him imo.
Riley’s response about not telling each other about their private lives just because they work together-- yes, it was kind of harsh. Especially with everything Mac is going through. Still, there is two sides to that story. When Mac recruited the team again, Riley was clearly excited to see him. Even before he mentioned there being a job. She missed him. You don’t miss ‘just co-workers’ like that. And he seemed to miss her just as much. After the first mission though, who reached out to Mac to make sure he was okay? Riley. She invited him to the arcade to check on him. There is a part of me that feels like she may have confided in Mac about being in a relationship if he had confided in her and divulged about the break-up with Desi. But he closed himself off. So instead, Riley did the same.
However, they read each other well. Mac has picked up on the fact that she’s had this secret, and brings it up. Riley admits about the relationship and opens up a little... until Mac shuts down her effort to find out about him and Desi, again. At this point Riley seems hurt because Mac doesn’t seem to trust her enough to do the same. In lieu of hurt comes out anger, hence the harsh line. Because as smart as Mac is, he doesn’t seem to realize that he’s showing mistrust in her and putting up that wall. But we all know Riley doesn’t see Mac just as a co-worker. Anyone can see that. So now they’re both hurting.
We know the famous wall scene is going to be after this, of course. What comes of it, who knows? But I feel as if Mac saving her will in a sense show Riley that he really does care about her despite closing himself off, and I have a hunch it will bring them closer. And hopefully we’ll see some resolve by episode’s end. Maybe, just maybe, CBS will do a slow burn justice. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but there’s been too much Macriley already this season to think there isn’t reason for it. Whether it’s to strengthen their friendship or something more (hopefully!), is still unknown.
The date night episode. Sigh. I don’t think many are looking forward to it. Supposedly Aubrey is not credited for any other episodes, so this may be the last of him. Lucas had said in an interview while this episode is hilarious, it takes a really dark turn at some point. More than they usually do. I speculate that something will unravel with Aubrey (maybe with the whole evil Codex situation). I know this is just me being hopeful, but I’d like to think that maybe Macdesi is there more or less so that Riley can introduce the team to her boyfriend, without blowing their cover. Or that perhaps he stumbles upon the trio and the cover is that they are a couple. I know that’s probably naive of me, but I really hope it’s not a real date for them. Please don’t get me wrong. I think Levy is great, and her and Lucas off-screen crack me up. But their characters as a couple is not believable. And I’m not just biased because I ship Macriley. I could go on a tangent there but I’d never shut up.
I keep bringing myself back to Tristin’s interview with Starry Mag.
Q) What can you tease about how Mac and Riley’s relationship develops this season?
A) No, I cannot give any spoilers away. But, as you know, Mac (Lucas Till) and Riley are family at the end of the day. So, they are always going to be there for each other. They’re going to help each other out even if it hurts other people. So, it is interesting to see what comes out of that, too.
I have faith that whatever Macriley goes through, Tristin’s word is true. They will make up and take care of each other... seemingly to great lengths. So I think this is just a blip in the road to strengthen their relationship. And if it leads to more then I’ll especially be thrilled, lol.
home box office — stranger things
Pairings: Robin Buckley x Reader, Steve Harrington x Reader
Category: fluff
Summary: Being Robin and Steve’s co-worker at Family Video is pretty much the best thing ever, but it takes quite the toll on your gentle (and very much bisexual) heart.
     Requested by: @the-desert-shewolf  !
Word Count: 1.7k
Author’s Notes: This is best read on the website rather than the mobile app, the app flubs up the formatting of it all
This is the first request that’s done with both Robin and Steve and I really liked the idea! Just in case, this trio of the reader, Robin, and Steve comes up again (it probably will) it will be found in both of their respective master lists with ‘stranger things’ as writing ‘s.h & r.b’ looks wonky to me.
Also, I’m really sorry if this feels a little rushed/short/not splendid ://
“I swear to God I’m gonna strangle Keith,”
     Steve muttered as he wandered back over to you and Robin while you both were perched on top of the counter. You laughed as you pulled out the board — one similar to the board from Scoops Ahoy. You hissed at you added a tally to the ‘Keith’ side of the board as Robin shook her head at the once teenage heart-throb. Thus far, Keith had a good tally of six women that he’s scared away while Steve had a tally of two that he won over — both of which occurred while Keith was sick.
    “You’ve lost your touch, Harrington,” You commented, chuckling as you lowered the board behind the counter once more. “Your body count is so unfortunately stagnant,” You puppy-frowned at him while Robin cackled next to you.
    “Shut the hell up,” Steve rolled his eyes, turning around and leaning against the counter — somewhat perched but mostly standing. He sighed and leaned his head against you, closing his eyes for a few moments.
    “Where am I going wrong?” Steve groaned exaggeratedly, running his hands through his hair. Robin gave a nice pat to Steve’s hand from across you, looking at him firmly.
    “Didn’t you learn your lesson last summer, dingus?” Robin snarkily questioned, causing Steve to crack open his eyes and send a glare her way. “You gotta stop acting like you’re the most popular guy in school. If you couldn’t tell, we’ve graduated and working at minimum wage,” She added in with a roll of her eyes.
    “Exactly, you don’t have to act cool anymore. Just be good ‘ol Steve,” You chuckled, ruffling his hair with a teasing grin. Steve rolled his eyes endearingly before standing fully, pushing off the counter. He fixed his hair again, making sure he was perfect and hot as can be. He glided away from you both and approached two women, once again reverting to his old ways.
    “He’ll never learn,” Robin smirked.
    “He really won’t,”
    “You ladies down for a movie night?” Steve asked with a grin, looking between you and Robin. Robin gave a simple thumbs-up, and both of their gazes affixed onto you. You pursed your lips, brushing hair behind your ear as you glanced over at Keith.
    “I kinda promised Keith I’d stay a little late to help clean up and organize,” You awkwardly drawled, looking back to both Robin and Steve with an upset gleam in your eyes. “It’s only for an hour, but you guys would probably want to start sooner and everything,” You added with a small, almost forced grin.
    “Compromise. Steve and I will buy snacks and you supply the movies?” Robin suggested, looking to Steve for an ‘okay’ to the idea. Steve crossed his arms and nodded with a pleased smile, his gaze shifting from Robin and then onto you.
    “We wouldn’t have a movie night without you for the world,” Steve commented. Your face flushed slightly, elated that they liked you that much. “We can wait an hour for you, don’t worry,” Steve winked, getting a hum of an agreement from Robin.
    “We’ll come back around to pick you up,” Robin stated, causing you to grin brightly.
    “Perfect,” You chuckled. Robin glanced down at her watch, realizing that it was time for them to finally clock out after quite an exhausting day.
    “Be back for you soon, sweetheart,” Robin teased with a cheeky wink, pushing Steve out of the store.
    “I’ll see you losers in a few. Wish me luck,” You saluted the two as they made their way out the door. You walked over to the Rom-Com section of the movies and began to re-sort them alphabetically, glancing over to see Keith fixing up the Sci-Fi section.
    There was a pleasant silence between you both while soft music played throughout the store. You hummed along with the music, and it seemed that only now did Keith’s attention fall over to you —  as if you haven’t been there the whole time. He kept his mouth zipped for another minute, but you could sense him just staring you down for quite a bit.
    “Yes, Keith?” You asked aloud, looking in his direction as he stared you down slack-jawed.
    “Which one do you like?” Keith said pretty vaguely, causing you to raise your brows in a confused manner.
    “Excuse me?”
    “Robin or Steve, it’s obvious that you like one of them,” He pointed out with a roll of his eyes as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. You paused from shuffling the movies, taking a moment to actually think about this.
    You weren’t certain of yourself either.
    Both Robin and Steve fueled most of the joys in your life, and almost every moment of bliss had been with both of them. The night at Lovers’ Lake was the one you reminisced about the most.
    “The stars look like little fireflies,” You giggled as you laid flat on your back — reaching your hands up to the sky and trying to grab at them.
    “No, dumbass, they’re like, baby moon bits,” Robin countered with a drunken laugh, rolling over and resting in the crook of your next.
    “You’re both wrong! They’re, like, stars,” Steve retorted loudly, staring both of you down with a serious stare. The moment of silence passed and you all collapsed in fits of laughter. Steve giggled and laid on top of you, causing you to laugh even more due to his dramatic fall. The three of you kept rolling around together along the edge of Lovers’ Lake — drinking, singing, and laughing to your hearts’ content.
    That night: the alcohol was good, the music was better, and the drunken (but not forgotten) stolen kisses were the best.
    Of course, there were your separate adventures with the two, but both were honestly an equal match and you had no preference of whom you liked more — whether platonically or romantically. You had your fair amount of 711 slushie runs with Robin and horror movie dates when Steve would be too scared to watch them, but you also had your long talks over the phone with Steve and your sporadic nights drinking and walking down the abandoned railroad tracks.
    Really, you loved them both.
    “I don’t have to answer that,” You responded after a short while of thinking, a sly smile on your face but paired with apologetic eyes.
    “Ugh, whatever,” Keith groaned, upset to not hear your side of the juicy gossip. You giggled at his complaint and continued sorting for the next hour, the time flies by quickly as you and Keith exchanged the occasional quip about movies while you were fixing them up.
    “Hey, we’re back!” Steve called through the store, noticing you in the back chuckling at whatever dumb comment Keith made about Star Wars. He sauntered over to you and swung an arm around your shoulders.
    “Ready to jet?” Steve asked with a cute grin, glancing up at Keith for a moment before looking back down to you. You noticed Keith’s dropped expression (as he obviously still detested Steve), but it was followed by a little smirk. You hastily averted your eyes away from Keith.
    “Almost, gimme a sec and I’ll join you in a bit,” You told Steve, shooing him out of the store for just a few more moments.
    “So it’s Steve, huh?” Keith grinned menacingly, but of course, you brushed him off and began picking up some movies.
    “I told you I don’t have to answer to you, even if you are my boss,” You chuckled, picking up The Apartment from the shelf.
    “So Robin?” Keith offered once more. You rolled your eyes and walked over to another section, picking up Hidden Fortress.
    “No comment!” You replied in a sing-songy manner, finally picking up Children of Paradise. Steve wasn’t the best connoisseur of movies, so naturally, you picked up Robin’s favorites so he can watch some good fucking cinematography.
    Before you walked out, you noticed one last movie from the corner of your eye. You smiled to yourself as Steve’s description of the movie rang through your memory. You picked up the movie without a beat and gave one last smile to Keith.
    “See you on Monday,” You sweetly chimed before exiting the store with the four movies in hand, strolling to the car with a smile. You hopped into the back seat and immediately Robin turned around to you.
    “Cherry slushie, your favorite,” Robin smiled before handing you the large drink. You graciously smiled and eagerly took the drink from her hands —  your fingertips gently grazing against her soft hands.
    “We also got some gummy worms, chocolate bars, and jiffy pop!” Robin added in with a delighted smile, shuffling through the candies she had stored in the bag. She swiftly turned back around to face forward before shouting, “Drive Harrington! Drive!”
    During the car ride to Robin’s place, you couldn’t help but ponder on Keith’s words a little more deeply. You were somewhat bothered by his invasive question, but not in an awful way. You really liked both of them and you couldn’t decide, but that doesn’t mean that you had to choose.
—
    After Back to the Future, you all were already feeling a bit drowsy. It was an oddly cold night in Indiana, and the three of you were bundled in the largest and softest blanket Robin had owned. You claimed the middle spot for personal reasons of your own and felt completely content when Robin wrapped an arm around your waist and both of them laid their heads on your shoulders.
    The night ran late and before you knew it, both of your companions fell asleep on you. Robin hugged your torso and Steve ended up lying in your lap. Both slept peacefully, and the sight of them both brought a joy to your heart. They had been asleep for an hour now, and in that time you came to your conclusion in regards to Keith’s badgering question.
    You didn’t care for choosing one over the other. You were content with the sweet nothings, friendly holding of hands, and teenage bliss. There was a lot of life to live, and love to give — and it could only be properly spent and expressed with both of them prominent in your life.
You loved them both, and you were content in that.
So this is a lil prompt thing for @rhinnie so I hope you like it. I don't normally post stuff mostly by tags but yeah Prompt was for a 'ways to say 'I love you"' :- "Here, drink this. You'll feel better" Danvin (romantic or platonic) ---------- (I made it a bit of both and FAHC if that's okay) Dan frowned. They'd said they'd be back soon and that was over two hours ago, so to say the rest of them were antsy was an understatement. Geoff had asked Gavin, Ryan and Jeremy to go and "talk" to a couple of their 'associates' who thought that multiple delayed payments were acceptable, just because "we still paid didn't we?" So a silver tongued Golden Boy and two of his attack dogs were sufficient enough to get the message across. Michael had protested at first, almost whining that it's wasn't fair only two of them got to go with Gavin. Dan knew it was partly because Michael was fully aware he'd have to spend time in the same room as him and the two of them had a minor conflict going on at the moment. In the end, Geoff had told him to sit down and deal with it, "You can go on the next one, dickhead." So almost two and a half hours later, it was disconcerting they hadn't returned yet. They heard the sound of the door unlocking and in walked Jeremy first, duffel bag slung over his shoulder and knuckles stained pinkish-red, and scarlet streaked across his cheek. The youngest member of the crew worried his teeth over his bottom lip, a nervous look in his eyes and when Ryan walked in it was easy to see why. Gavin was cradled in his arms, head resting on his shoulder and lanky arms slung around his back and waist, slurring what-if's at a pensive Ryan who tried his hardest to answer them as sincerely as he could. Gavin didn't seem to be dying but once The Vagabond had gently laid him out on the sofa it was clear by his blown out pupils and dazed expression he'd taken a pretty hard knock to the head. Green eyes kept drifting and slipping closed and Jack's big sister instincts kicked in. She sat down on the edge of the sofa cushion to check Gavin over. Gentle hands stroked over his neck and shoulders, a quick check of the dark stain at his waist proving to have not come from Gavin himself. She checked his head over, finding a nasty looking gash on his forehead, cutting through his eyebrow and dripping blood down his eyelid and cheek. Geoff had been stood passively, arms folded and face blank as he watched Ryan set Gavin down. As soon as Jack took over, he was dragging a fuming Michael (who'd been angrily pacing the entire time since the trio had returned) with him. "Ryan, Jeremy. Come with me please." Dan trailed after them, casting one last look over his shoulder at Gavin who Jack was now hugging, whether reassurance for his B or for herself he didn't know. He walked into the planning room, closing the door quietly behind him before turning to face the rest of the crew around the table. Michael's fists were clenched tightly, knuckles white and tucked under his arms. Jeremy was still biting at his bottom lip, by this point he'd drawn blood but didn't seem to care. Ryan was quieter than normal, mask finally removed and Dan could see his face paint smeared out of the perfect lines he knew Gavin had helped draw that morning. Dan leant against the wall, arms folded loosely and face empty. "So," Geoff started, looking between Jeremy and Ryan after shooting a warning at Michael, "Who wants to tell me what happened?" Jeremy and Ryan shared a look before the shorter of the two sighed. "It started off as standard, you know? Gavin knocked politely, we stood behind him looking like the muscle we were there to be. They let us in and Gav starts his usual routine, waxing poetry and twisting them round his little finger. He had them backed into a corner, Ryan had already had to punch one guy who got cocky and he was passed out on the floor. They were scared." "As they fucking should be." Michael muttered distractedly. "That's great, and by the duffel I'm assuming you got more out of them." Geoff looked to Ryan now. Ryan took over, "Yeah, all Gavin's handiwork. They'll now also be paying in advance for shipments." Geoff nodded, satisfied and proud of his boys. "That doesn't explain why you had to carry Gavin back though." Ryan's face darkened. "That... We were leaving, Jeremy already out the door with the bag and I hung back just to make sure we were all out. The leader, still simpering, called out to Gavin and he turned around and took the butt of an assault rifle to the face. Clocked him right over the temple. I caught him as he went down but he was out of it." Dan scowled, thinking of the cheap shot and how pathetic it was. He glanced back to Ryan when he sighed. "I shot the leader, wish I'd killed him, left a warning written in blood and no one else dared to even move as we left." "So how come it took so long for you to get back here?" Dan asked, fingers now playing with the hem of his shirt and legs itching to carry him back to Gavin. "Oh, someone heard the gunshot and called the cops, took us a while to lose them, then we stayed silent until we were sure it'd blown over. We were on the other side of the city though so it took an hour to get back." Jeremy pitched in, finally putting the bag on the table. Geoff was still frowning, deep lines etched into his forehead even as he stepped forward to unzip the duffel. The amount of cash inside lessened the ache a little, but not much when he knew Gavin was in pain and bleeding. He wiped a hand over his face, pressing fingers into his eyes and tweaking his moustache before sighing with a nod. "Alright. Okay. Well, not much we can do now, hopefully the bastard bled out after you left. We'll sort this. Michael, Lil J, I need you to go get some stuff for me, list is in the kitchen." He tossed a set of keys at Michael, hoping a job would distract him from Gavin. Michael caught them easily, stalking from the room with Jeremy close behind him. Hearing the front door slam not even a minute later, Geoff exhaled in relief. He nodded at Dan, gesturing politely for him to leave and the Brit took his cue; he closed the door gently to the sound of Geoff and Ryan murmuring to one another. Heading back into the living room, Gavin had curled into a ball, tucked up against Jack's side as she ran gentle fingers through his hair, careful around the gauze she'd taped over what he knew would be butterfly stitches. She looked up at the sound of his footsteps, smiling gently and shifting. Gavin whined in response, leaning into her more heavily before he glanced up and saw Dan. He stretched out his arms, making slightly clumsy grabby-hands at him, and Dan had to smile despite the worry. He held up a finger, trying not to laugh at the mildly dopey pout on Gavin's face, and ventured to the kitchen quickly. When he returned, Jack was just standing up, still petting a hand over Gavin's head to calm his distress at being left alone. Dan moved over to the sofa, sitting next to Gavin and grinning when his B leaned against him immediately. He gently batted away uncoordinated arms, wrapping long slender fingers around the plastic cup (everything forbid he give a concussed Gavin anything breakable) and guiding it to Gavin's mouth. "Here, drink this. You'll feel better." He hid his smile in Gavin's hair as the Golden Boy let out an appreciative hum at the warm tea. "B. Y'used a Brit t'bag." The sentence was slurred but Dan huffed a laugh at the statement. "Of course I did B, you know I can't stand the pathetic American excuse. 'Sides, you need it." "Mmm. Thanks B." Gavin settled more heavily against Dan, taking another sip of tea and closing his eyes. Dan knew if he let Gavin sleep he'd have to wake him in an hour to check on the concussion. He adjusted his position against the sofa cushion, catching Gavin as he dropped against him, "Go to sleep, Gav. I'll wake you up in a bit." "M'kay." Gavin rested his head against his shoulder, moving his head a little and tickling wild golden hair against Dan's cheek and chin. "Love you, B." Dan swallowed, fighting down the fondness creeping up through his chest and spreading warmth. "I love you too." (When Geoff, Jack and Ryan emerged from the planning room an hour later, Michael and Jeremy still weren't back yet, but the sight of both Gavin and Dan passed out on the sofa was both adorable and perfect for future blackmail.)
