#not that I dislike the dynamic of Shuichi and Kokichi

  I wish that more English Danganronpa V3 fans knew that in the original Japanese version, Gonta didn’t talk in caveman/Hulk speech. He spoke in normal polite Japanese, only struggling with the meaning of certain words from his lack of experience. He did however talk in third person but Tenko and Angie did as well. In Japanese 3rd person speech works and is used to make characters cute and childish. But in English none of this comes across and instead is just distracting. Its obvious that the NISA translators only kept Gonta in 3rd person to insert weird American humor into the series.
  I especially dislike this translation because Gonta is one of the most important characters in ndrv3, especially when it comes to Kokichi’s character arc. Now, instead of being the sweet and naive entomologist who allows the audience to see beneath Kokichi’s mask, he is now seen as nothing but a joke side character.
  Which not only ruins Gonta’s entire character but also makes Kokichi’s character and intentions even more confusing.
(No wonder people are confused that Kokichi and Gonta got official Anniversary wine together haha)
  To make things worse, they also changed Kokichi’s character by making him more childish and aggressive.(even going as far as changing his sprites on scenes!) I’d say one of the worst mistranslations though was making his whiteboard have “trustworthy?” written below the photo of Shuichi. In Japanese it says something more along the lines of “dangerous?” or “untrustworthy?”. I really don’t know how they messed this up but it was likely because there was a translator who wanted Kokichi to be shipped with the protagonist. The translation error to me was strange because most of his interactions with Shuichi were negative so, to suddenly say that Shuichi was the only one he trusted would feel like a contradiction. It’s also frustrating because, the original whiteboard translation imo implies that Kokichi may have suspected that Shuichi was the mastermind which is SO INTERESTING and gives their dynamic so much more depth.
Tumblr media
In conclusion: NISA ruined V3 lol

RE: Bugsnax AU, I think you could make some rough equivalents out of numerous DR characters and grumpuses. In some cases, you can easily imagine similar characters taking the parts, but in others? I think it'd just be fun to see these different personalities filling that kind of role. So with that in mind, I'd say:
Elizabert = Komaru. Not just because she 'bites off more than she can chew' sometimes, but really because...
Eggabell = Toko. The sort of "angrily ordering you to take care of yourself" mentality just fits... and ofc, Tokomaru = Win.
Filbo = This one was a struggle for me. I ultimately felt that Kaito offers a fun combination of self-declared "best friend" and relative ineptitude to fill the role, and it'd be neat to see how his outwardly confident personality contrasts with someone like Filbo.
Gramble = Gonta. Of course. A pure bug-loving soul.
Cromdo = Kokichi. I think this would be hilarious — Kokichi as a grifting salesman-type.
Beffica = Kotoko? Hiyoko? Either could work, albeit with slightly different spins on the role. If we want to lean into her conflict with Cromdo, then Hiyoko is a better option.
Shelda = Angie. They both love providing phony-ass wisdom from on high.
Snorpy = On the one hand, Kazuichi is smart and seems more likely to believe utterly insane conspiracies. But on the other hand, it'd be really funny to see Chihiro be the one who believes in the Illuminati or whatever. They're definitely smart, and this opens up the chance for his partner to be...
Chandlo = Mondo. Liftin' your crib, dawg.
Floofty = Matsuda seems like a really easy pick for someone who is both very intelligent AND deeply misguided as well as insulting towards others, but... nah, I think it's more fun to make this Izuru. I think the acerbic "I'm better than you" attitude and Kamukura's deadpan delivery combined with literally insane ideas would be a delightful gold mine. :)
This leaves me with Triffany and Wambus. And I'm... at a loss on those two, frankly. Any ideas?
I was thinking about doing this as well, just been at a loss for who would be who. I do like a lot of suggestions you got there!! Unfortunately I haven't played nor know anything about Ultra Despair Girls so I'll have to replace some characters. But I think I'll keep a majority of these suggestions, like Hiyoko and Kokichi. That's a very interesting dynamic!
As for Wambus and Triffany,, hmm,,, I was thinking maybe Sakura and Hina? And maybe replacing Gonta with Gundham(or maybe not I'll put more thought into it). I just thought the dynamic between Sakura and Gundham would be interesting but I may change my mind
And I'm struggling to decide whether I should include the Reporter into the au. And if so, who should it be? I was thinking maybe Shuichi but, as much as I dislike him, Hajime would be interesting.
But as for Eggabell and Lizbert,, since I don't know a lot about Komaru and Toko, I'll have to replace them. That is the hardest decision that I just can't figure out. Let me know what you guys think! Any suggestions??
(btw If anyone wants to draw the Grumpuses from this au, feel free but please credit -<3)

How do you see korekiyo's relationship with his peers (aside from Shuichi)? Like, I know that he is ignored/disliked by most of his peers but I think he'd get along with Gonta, Rantaro, maybe Ryoma and Kirumi. Be worsties with Kokichi, Miu and maybe Maki, idk about Tenko, Himiko and Angie and I think he wouldn't get along with Kaito, Kaede of course is her own can of worms
as supplied by canon, rantaro and kiyo seem to get along very well! i think it is rantaro who is drawn to kiyo instead of it being the other way around, and i find that extremely funny considering rantaro's possible cool kid status to kiyo's rancid vibes. that being said he Is a bit of an oddball himself, and given the time, i imagine him and kiyo would have became close friends. while gonta and kiyo don't interact much in-game, i think they could become good friends too - their interests line up a good couple of places and gonta is just a kind soul who could easily overlook kiyo's more worrying eccentricities. i think ryoma and kirumi by all means would be civil, though i think it's quite possible that they would remain surface-level friends. both of them have a tendency to keep people at arm's length, and kiyo is not one to push in that regard. if anything, i think they would have a good understanding of the others' boundaries.
i love kokichi/kiyo and miu/kiyo as a concept, because i think they would make for a very funny dynamic. not sure about maki - if they were forced to hang around each other for long enough, i can imagine her letting her guard down a bit, but i can't see her trusting kiyo and the feeling would probably be mutual. i don't think he'd have a problem getting along with kaito per say, but kaito definitely finds him creepy and the awkwardness would be palpable were they in a room alone together.
while kiyo seems to like himiko, i don't think she has much of an opinion on him - other than a general disregard - and i don't think that would change any time soon. kiyo is unwilling to go along with her gimmick, and she is unwilling to hear kiyo out on his, so it's a bit of a lack of common ground. angie, i think, could probably get along great with kiyo ironically... they seem to have each other figured out to a degree none of the other characters do, and while they are both unwilling to buy into what the other is selling, neither of them are hostile about it. i like to see their situation as one of mutual respect but complete lack of trust. it's fun!!
with tenko, i could actually see her get along with kiyo to some degree - she seems to view him as a lesser threat in-canon because of his feminine demeanor and choice of academia. which is... very funny, in retrospect. but i do think kiyo admires her energy and spirit, and in the right circumstances, they could even be friends. maybe.
i forgot kibo in there, but i also think they would be Civil while having very little common ground - kiyo is interested in humanity and not being a human is quite the sore spot for kibo. seems to me he would just end up saying hurtful shit by accident every other week and kibo would end up avoiding him in return.

big same on the saiouma bit.
I felt like it could have been great, but canon did nothing to establish the dynamic.
I wish there was more Kiiouma, Iruoma, and Ougoku content!
Not ship bashing, but ship critical talk below. Don't like it, don't look at it, I'm not here to start a fight.
Thing is, I don't entirely dislike Shuichi and Kokichi (I'm going to avoid using ship names here to hopefully avoid showing up in the main tags, I don't like insulting ships where the fans can see it), it has potential, but I dislike the way most of the fandom portrays them, like, people act like only Shuichi could ever understand Kokichi, but Shuichi himself admits that he never did really understand Kokichi. And a lot of people make them very soft and lovey dovey, which just isn't their relationship to me. And that doesn't stop them from being an interesting pair, but I generally like to see them with a lot more tension, arguments and bitterness and hurt, especially in any kind of post game 'no one is really dead but everything still happened' setting (think the popular virtual reality AU for example).
But yeah, my big issue is that finding good content for either of them with anyone else can be a struggle. Of course my big ship is Kokichi and Kaito, as anyone following my blog can probably tell, but as you said, I'd love to see more of Kokichi and Gonta, Kokichi and Keebo, and Kokichi and Miu (I have a particular soft spot for Kokichi, Miu, and Keebo in a polycule). I also have a fondness for Kokichi with Rantaro, Kaede, and Angie. (Yes he's my shipping bike and that's not at all the full list of who I ship him with, especially since I also cross-game ship)
As for Shuichi, while it's not hard to find him with Kaede, I'd also like a lot more of him with Kaito and Rantaro.
Basically, I can ship a lot of things as long as they're written in a way I like, and Shuichi and Kokichi is no exception, but please give me more variety in ships.

Honestly it's sad how we were robbed of a potentially good development of Miu, Kiibo and Kokichi friendship. Those 3 does have something in common and is how they were ignored/disliked by the group, if they created their own group of "outcasts", they would've understood each other better if they hang out more. Kiibo was the only one in the cast who tried to know Miu better and reach out Kokichi in chapter 5. If those 3 hang out together, Kiibo would've helped them feel more comfortable and opening up to them aswell, as for Kokichi, he would realise that Miu and Kiibo aren't so different from him. And if you think about it, Kiibouruma and the Training trio are just the opposites or two sides of the same coin. Kiibo and Kaito, Maki and Miu, Kokichi and Shuichi. I might overthink it a lot but I wished we could saw more of this trio in canon and more development of them.
anon you're so right about everything (tho I can't see many parallels with the training trio and them, tho the kokichi-shuichi parallel is pretty obvious,)
you're right tho, their dynamic had potential 😔 I am still partial to the thought that an honest friendship between all three of them wouldn't have been possible during the actual killing game because of everything and how they all acted out, BUT I am still sitting here thinking about non-despair settings where they talk abt shit and stuff

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA V3 (and probably the other games, too, just to be safe)
So, just as a heads up, I made this list a few months ago, I think in the middle of chapter 4. I was going to update it, but I realized that any feelings I had were just made stronger and the list was still relatively accurate. Here are my thoughts:
I see no god up here other than me
Kirumi Tojo - As you may know about me, I can typically tell who my favorite characters are going to be before I indulge myself in a series. This has especially rung true throughout Danganronpa, I was able to correctly guess Taka and Gundham as my respective favorites before actually seeing them in action. Let me tell you that Kirumi surprised me. I originally guessed K1-B0 as my favorite and while he’s still up there, he is nowhere near Kirumi. I realized she was my favorite the moment chapter 2 ended. Not only were her execution and plan wonderful and brilliantly done, her last-ditch plea to convince everyone to let her live sold her for me. Not only did this plea make sense, it almost worked and I kinda wish it would’ve. Her motive was almost completely selfless and she worked damn hard to escape. Her execution was the only time I cried during this game because I wanted so badly for her to escape, but I knew that all of her efforts were futile. I know her biggest criticism is that her plan from hiding Ryoma’s body was completely unnecessary, but I like to believe she was just nervous and overthought the whole thing. I mean, this had to go perfectly in order for her to save her country, of course she’s going to add a few too many steps.
Miu Iruma - Okay, I know this is going to sound fake, but I actually really love the dichotomy of her character. The way that she acts so self-righteous but is actually quite self-conscious really stood out to me. Of course she’s funny and hot, too, but I feel it’s important to really appreciate the way her character was written. It amazes me that she was written to be the least likable character in the entire series and still ended up being one of my favorites.
You’re the best
K1-B0 - Yes, I type out his name every time. As I already mentioned, he was my original guess for favorite character, but it obviously didn’t work out that way. He stayed in his position of first for a while, but I always knew it wasn’t meant to last, I just didn’t know which character would take his place. Even besides my doubts, I still love K1-B0, I just wish more could’ve been done with him in the earlier chapters. There are several opportunities for him to be a really funny character and have good interactions with Kokichi and Miu, but he just comes off as annoying. I feel like he only really started to be utilized after Miu died with Monotaro and I really enjoyed their dynamic, I just wish we could’ve had some of this side of K1-B0 before this point.
Kokichi Oma - This spot probably isn’t as subjective as I’d like it to be. Every time Kokichi was on screen, I would get visibly annoyed, but I knew I was in for a treat figuring out his deeper intents behind what he’s saying. The only reason I really like Kokichi at all is because he’s fun to analyze. It gets boring to analyze Nagito because his motivation is pretty much just a mix of “hope” and “he’s crazy.” Kokichi’s character trait of lying makes it so fun to individually analyze each of his lines to figure out whether he’s telling the truth and why or why not. Other than that, I guess he has some funny dialogue with Miu sometimes.
Gonta Gokuhara - I really don’t know. I know this is way too early to be unsure about characters, but I just know I couldn’t put him any lower, but I also couldn’t put him any higher. He’s just such a sweetheart, but that’s about where the substance ends. I adored every time he was on my screen, but everything that would’ve been fun to analyze about him just leads back to Kokichi. I still really enjoy his presence, though. I’d like a big Gonta hug.
Kaede Akamatsu - I’ll just say it, I think she would’ve made for a better protagonist. I’ll talk about this later, but Shuichi’s character development doesn’t really feel like it goes anywhere and the twist doesn’t feel worth it because of that. I think the twist should still have been incorporated, but with the roles reversed. Either way, we got what we got, and what we got was tears from Clair de Lune. But seriously, she really is a great pianist. I’ve been trying to learn the piece for ages and it’s still too complicated for me. I mean, it’s in 9/8 for God’s sake. Good for her, regardless.
Tenko Chabashira - Tenko’s a weird case. I didn’t actually care for her that much until quite literally a few lines before she died. Fun fact: I spoiled this entire series for myself before I ended up playing it and I’m still mad at myself. This meant that I was just waiting for all of the deaths to happen, especially Tenko’s. I was fully aware that every line could be her last during the seance, but I wasn’t aware that she would pull on my heart strings before she went. When she tells Himiko that she’ll do the seance in her place so she can talk to Angie, I literally almost started crying. Before this, Tenko was just kind of annoying, but not too bad, but this moment really solidified her spot for me. She really just wanted to help Himiko and I wish she had chosen a better target for her affections.
Hey, I think you’re pretty cool, I like you a lot
Shuichi Saihara - Time to elaborate on what I said for Kaede. I actually really enjoyed Shuichi’s character development throughout the first three chapters. Before coming to Hope’s Peak, he was afraid to hurt people with his detective skills. Kaede notices this and helps him through it, passing the reins to Kaito once she passes. Shuichi convicts Kaede and later Kirumi, much to everyone’s detriment, but they’re all okay with it (Nobody was really super sad about Korekiyo to begin with, lol). Then, starting in chapter 4, everyone just kinda flips on him. Shuichi + the rest of the gang - Kokichi all believe that Gonta is innocent and Shuichi tries to prove this. Instead of supporting him, everyone (especially Kaito) tries to... stop him??? from proving it??? They’re all just in agreement that it wasn’t Gonta, but don’t want to proceed with the investigation to figure out who it was instead. It’s really frustrating and made my overall experience much less enjoyable. This is bumped up a few notches in chapter 5 with Maki. I understand that she was part of the whole case, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying that she won’t let me prove Kaito was the victim. It just feels like the character development was all for nothing and every student feels like a human obstacle (except K1-B0, of course). Still relatable and emo, though.
Rantaro Amami - I would make the joke everyone expects, but I’m on my laptop and I don’t know how to get to the emoji keyboard.
Ryoma Hoshi - I genuinely don’t have anything to say about Ryoma. He’s my halfway point because I don’t have anything particularly for him and I don’t have anything particularly against him, either. Go off, funky little cat man.
Kaito Momota - He got on my nerves in chapter 4, but he was a genuinely sweet character that I really enjoyed talking to. Any time he would talk about the stars, I would swoon because he’s just such a natural romantic. Not really my type, though. Very average.
Monophanie - Legally you can’t ask me why the monokubs are where they are. She’s voiced by Natalie Hoover (Sonia) and I guess that’s my only reasoning.
Monotaro - I really just liked his interactions with K1-B0 in chapter 4. Other than that, I greatly disliked his and Monophanie’s presence in Gonta’s execution. 0/10 worst use for monokubs.
Monodam - A nice, non-distracting addition to Korekiyo’s execution. But he had so much potential and just threw it all away. Apparently I’m a basketball dad from a high school movie now.
I remember you
Angie Yonaga - Many times, I’ve found myself asking who I ship from the series and this love triangle comes to mind. Of Angie, Himiko, and Tenko... I only really like Tenko. I don’t hate Angie’s cult stuff as much as everyone else seems to, but she didn’t have nearly enough of a presence for me to latch onto outside of the cult stuff, which was funny, I will admit.
Maki Harukawa - I was so excited the whole game for her to get cool. I knew she was going to get cool, I just didn’t know when or how. But then, it was chapter 5 already and she hadn’t gotten cool in my eyes yet. I was really meh on her by that chapter anyway, but her being annoying really knocked her down a few pegs. She got a couple extra points for surprising me during the case, but not enough to bump her up any spots.
Himiko Yumeno - I was rooting for her to be crushed under the rock at the end. She was fine before chapter 3, but then they tried to develop her with the Akane treatment and it didn’t work for me at all. She just got on my nerves during the third trial and continued to contribute nothing throughout the rest of the game. During chapter 5 and 6, it’s like the writers just completely forgot that she was there. This would’ve been fine if they weren’t the last couple of chapters and she was one of about 6 people left alive. She had a role to play and didn’t play it in the slightest. The most she was utilized after chapter 3 was as Miu’s replacement post-chapter 5. Someone needed to fill the dirty jokes quota and I guess Himiko was chosen. #GiveTenkoABetterLoveInterest2021
Monosuke - The only thing I remember him doing throughout the entire game was distract me from Kirumi’s exectuion. Not a fan.
You are the worst. Literal scum. Leave this planet and never return
Korekiyo Shinguji - Okay, listen. He’s not that bad. His design is actually one of the best, in my opinion and I love his dedication to his craft. However, he just creeps me out whenever he’s on screen and I’d prefer not to be around him. It’s not even the sister thing, I honestly think that’s funny and a nice change of pace, but his overall demeanor is creepy. Not to mention he’s played by Todd Haberkorn and he’s been in one too many roles recently. Hopefully I’ll get over it, but as for now, that loses him points.
Tsumugi Shirogane - I know, not exactly an unpopular opinion. She’s just annoying and downright pisses me off a lot of the time with her “plain” shtick. I already knew she was going to be the mastermind, so most of the game was just me waiting for her to reveal it. I swear, I almost couldn’t take it every time she said something like, “What if there isn’t a mastermind?” “What?? There’s a mastermind????” Just stfu Tsumugi. You all are lucky I don’t have the energy to talk about 3-6 right now.
Monokid - Hate the tongue sprite, that’s literally the only reason he’s down here. He’s also kind of annoying, but made the best addition to an execution out of all of the monokubs. His death was one of the few things that surprised me in this game and it was a welcome twist. I was sick of him by this point, but was still incredibly shocked when he was pushed into the execution. Then, his severed head rolls out to all of the students looking on in shock at Kaede’s death. Masterful. Still hate the tongue sprite.
There we go. Definitely my least favorite cast out of the whole series, but it’s still fun to love on and hate on a lot of the characters, as per usual. There are just a few too many in the middle tier (metaphorically speaking) that are either uninteresting or just don’t get their time to shine. Maybe they’ll eventually grow on me more, but I doubt it.

If you don't mind me asking, is there a specific reason why you dislike saiouma or does it just not sit right with you?
Uuh, I usually avoid explaining this because I KNOW that if I do there will be angry 12 year old girls in my replies being like “um, actually-” djfhbdjhdhjf
Basically, I don’t wanna ship shuichi with someone he dislikes and kinda doesn’t give a shit about (like hajime and komaeda actually talked in the game, shuichi is more focused on kaito and kaede), plus I never really saw kokichi’s “crush” dfbhjbdfjdfb, kokichi is more kaito’s rival and I find the oumota and ougoku dynamic much more interesting
I’ve gotten a lot of hate from the saiouma shippers under my saimatsu and ougoku posts and I got so tired of it, previously I just didn’t ship it and didn’t really care about the ship, but these people made me dislike it to the point it’s lowkey making me uncomfortable
Btw if you wanna go “um, actually-” in the replies, don’t, I literally don’t care jhdfbhjdfbg

AHWHAUDHDNA i have more song ideas that i shall enlighten you with
more the crane wives bc i love them... tongues and teeth reminds me of oumota a LOT, “when you come in quick to steal a kiss, my teeth will only cut your lips” referring to how kokichi has distanced himself from everyone on purpose but kaito still wants him,,, the line “i am not a vessel for your good intents” reminds me of their hero/villain dynamic and how kokichi dislikes his heroic attitude, but now that i’m listening to it again it can also sound like kaimaki??
love like you from su reminds me of saimota, especially “i always thought i might be bad, now i’m sure that it’s true/cause i think you’re so good, and i’m nothing like you” referring to how shuichi admires kaito a lot and wants to be like him because being with kaito gives him strength :,)
sweet hibiscus tea by penelope scott reminds me of shuichi SO MUCH... “and i am not your protagonist, i’m not even my own” hit me like a freight train, kinda referring to his reaction to tsumugi telling him that team danganronpa “created” him, but this is a pretty popular shuichi pick so i’m not surprised if you’ve heard it
burning pile gives me kokichi vibes... “throw my troubles at the world again/it goes, all my troubles on a burning pile” referring to how kokichi decides to completely abandon his true self in order for his mastermind plot to work and so he could sacrifice himself to end the killing game
life letters also gives oumota vibes,,, i prefer to listen to the no glitch version but the song is also just so pretty... (keep in mind i don’t actually speak russian so i have to rely on translations 😭) “the average person can tell up to two hundred thousand lies a day/and now i lie, and you will leave me here” GAHDHSHAGD,,, give it a listen it’s awesome
Heck yeah lets go!! 🌚💜💜💜 I only know love like you from a prev ask so like always, im excited to listen to the rest of these 😂
I did not expect my wig to fly the second the lyrics to tongues and teeth began but I was wrong, literally starting off with the "ive grown a mouth so sharp and cruel its all that i can give you" immediately made me think of all the cruel and mean shit Kokichi says to keep the others away, specifically Kaito in this case 👁👄👁 I agree 100% with the 'to steal a kiss' line you mentioned, its rlly how Kokichi kept everyone as far away as he could but Kaito didn't give a fuck 👀 *slaps table* AGAIN, I AGREE WITH THE NEXT LINE "i know you mean well but i am not a vessel for your good intents" IT RLLY REMINDS ME OF KAITO'S HEROIC NATURE AND HIS NEED TO HELP EVERYONE AND KOKICHI HATES THAT- the next part about breaking all the pretty things but the person being fine with that and fine with being theirs is Kokichi being damn well aware he could only just end up hurting Kaito but he knows doesnt care 😔✋🏽 GOD THE REST OF THE SONG IS JUST KOKICHI TRYING TO CONVINCE KAITO AND PROBS HIMSELF THAT IT WONT LAST AND THAT ITS NOT PERMANENT AND THAT ITS NOT LOVE AND HE TRIES TO WARN KAITO BUT KAITO DOESN'T C A R E, AND YEAH I SEE THE UNDERTONES OF KAIMAKI IN THERE TOO
Love like you makes me feel so nice and s o f t, man 😭😭😭😭 Back when i first heard it i thought of it in Kaito's perspective @ Shuichi cause of how he admires Shuichi and his skills and thinks so highly of him even if he doesnt show it but now I also think of it like you said in Shuichi's perspective @ Kaito with how much he also admires him and his charisma and strength and he loves him so much and he doesn't understand how Kaito could think highly of someone like him and just??? Man, I'm in mY FEELS 😭😭😭
I haven't heard the sweet hibiscus tea song before actually! You should know i only came to find out about the existence of the v3 (and the 2nd game) characters back in september and i never interacted with the fandom at all till i made this blog so i never knew it was a popular pick for Shuichi 😂 But you were right, it rlly did remind me of Shuichi! Aside from the obvious bit with the protag which absolutely refers to that last trial where the truth is revealed, it also made me think of Shuichi's self doubt and anxiety and insecurities regarding his usefulness aND IT ALSO REMINDED ME OF AFTER KAEDE DIED AND HOW FED UP HE IS WITH THE KILLING GAME
Can I just say, burning pile made me want to burn something so bad 💀😂 I agree tho! I dunno how to explain but I got Kokichi vibes too, when it said the stuff with "all my troubles on a burning pile all lit up and i start to smile" made me think of him thinking up his plan and him pretending to be enjoying all the shit he has to do (by smiling and pretending to be happy) and "if i catch fire then i'll take my turn to burn and burn and burn" made me think of him planning out the fact that he might die due to his behavior/actions/etc and he'll be ready to "burn" (die) :,)))
I don't know russian either so I had to also rely on translations for life letters, i hadn't realized before but im 99% sure ive heard this in edits before 😂 RIGHT OFF WITH THE TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND LIES AND I WILL LIE AND YOU WILL LEAVE ME BITS I GOT HIT WITH OUMOTA VIBES, THE LEAVING PART MADE ME THINK OF KAITO HAVING TO LEAVE KOKICHI ALONE ON THE PRESS 😭😭😭😭✋🏽 STOP- ITS MAKING ME THINK OF THEM SHARING ONE LAST MOMENT AND ONE LAST KISS BEFORE KOKICHI DIES AND WHEN IT SAYS THEY ONLY HAVE ONE HOUR, CHANGE IT TO KAITO AND KOKICHI ONLY HAVING A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE PRESS HAS TO COME DOWN BUT ONE OF THEM RLLY WANTS TO SAY GOODBYE PROPERLY SO THEY JUST SPEND A LIL MINUTE THERE TOGETHER, FUCKING HELP
ASDFGHJKL IM SORRY FOR THIS LONG ASS POST, I ALWAYS GET CARRIED AWAY WRITING 💀💀💀

instead of the usual rival dynamics fandom talks about (makoto-byakuya; shuichi-kokichi) I think the true rivalries are rather kyoko -byakuya (or aoi asahina-byakuya) and kaito-kokichi. (I didn't mention hajime-nagito, because I agree here, though chiaki-nagito could work too.) If you take rivals as protagonist-antagonist then I'm wrong but if we define rivals as two people who want the same thing but disagree on how to get to that thing (I feel like it's a more accurate definition) it works?
My specialty is in V3 analysis so I can't really speak for other games although I've played them, but I agree that the real rivalry in V3 is Kaito-Kokichi and not Kokichi-Shuichi.
When I think of Kaito-Kokichi I think of intense, mutual antagonism that becomes not just one, but two major plot points.
When I think of Kokichi-Shuichi I only think of Shuichi disliking Kokichi, which is pretty lame as far as rivalries go.
Ex: Kokichi kidnapped Kaito for being a danger to the group, not Shuichi.

shipping ask meme for irumota?
Oooooh anon u have excellent taste 💯
When I started shipping it if I did: I was collecting my thoughts about the game after I’ve watched a v3 gameplay for the first time, and I was thinking about the two of them mostly since they’re my faves and then I went like - OH WAIT - and I started to realize they’d have SO MUCH potential;
My thoughts: I think they’re meant to be kind of counterparts in the game because they’re both loud, outspoken and boisterous even if their personalities are complete opposites. I think the fact that during trials Shuichi stands between the two of them is not so random (the weak protags stands between the two characters with the strongest presence) and if you notice, they directly oppose each other in both the occasions they stand in the opposite side during the first two scrum debates, just to be allied in close positions in the third one, the last for Miu. They’re very different people (one believes too much in others, the other too little) yet they have lots in common: they’re two scientists and they’re both very passionate about their fields of expertise, I also think it’s very interesting to note that whereas Kaito is very proud of his masculinity, Miu is very proud of her femininity (I think this sort of parallel between the two of them is very intriguing) but their way of expressing this pride is non-conventional: on one side, Kaito talks about “a man’s passion” as his own drive, motivation and focus to pursue his dreams, getting a romantic partner is not his priority (which is rather unusual for a guy of his age). On the other side, Miu does not embody the traditional ideal of femininity, she swears a lot and she’s open about her sexuality. Another interesting thing is that both of them express an interest on having kids, as well. [EDIT: some of their sprites also look similar if you give them a look]. Makes you think;
What makes me happy about them: the way they are, the way they could work so well with one another;
What makes me sad about them: It’s a real sin they barely interacted in canon, such a shame;
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: There isn’t enough material at the moment to have an opinion on this but I think it would be difficult to make this ship any disservice tbh;
Things I look for in fanfic: pls read Make Your Path on AO3, is perfect ;u;
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with: Kaito is honestly very much “shippable” so you could ship him with anyone basically, I ship him mostly with Shuichi, Kaede and Kokichi and I also ship Miu with Kiibo or Kokichi, as well. I think both of them would have an AWESOME dynamic with Kazuichi, too;
My happily ever after for them: They join a team of experts for a series of big projects involving the improvement of technology for space exploration, they realize their dreams together;
Who is the big spoon/little spoon: KAITO is absolutely the big spoon and thinking of him comforting and supporting Miu this way makes it all the more sweeter :3
What is their favorite non-sexual activity: she WON’T become her sidekick, she WON’T train but she’ll be bickering with him costantly and they don’t dislike some good banter from time to time, also discussing about their hobbies and watching tv together.
I wanted to tag the ask before writing it and it got posted only with the anonymous tag so I posted with nothing written asdfghjkl

Here’s a rant now. So...... please, I’ll start going off about s**ouma/(a,i) o**asai. (u,m). I will NOT hold back on it. And I’ll just basically scream and etc. on this post because just fuck it at this point.
S**ouma was the main cause of my traumatic experience considering so many people hated me for two things, not liking their basic toxic ship and thinking a fictional character is bisexual. It’s probably the main reason on why I’m problematic and lowkey mean, because I try my hardest to be nice but sometimes if you revoke me I will not hold back, so I just. 😐. Don’t act suprised and defenseless when I’m talking about what I dislike and it crosses to your interests. I don’t even care if your a nice s**ouma shipper, you SCARE ME. I don’t want to hear it, it’s for my mentality because it’s ON MY BLOG. My blog shouldn’t be open to people I don’t want on it. I’m trying to be happier by opening this fucking blog but if you s**ouma reposters keep coming on this fucking blog I will deactivate it. I can see every single reblog and like and all that stuff, your not an exclusion. One last time, any people who even think s**ouma is an okay thing to let slide DONT INTERACT.
Actually, since I’m getting even, I’m gonna tell you why I don’t like s**ouma and why it scares me sooo badly because Kokichi’s with “someone who doesn’t even want shit to do with him” or because I’m “being defensive.”
To be TRUTHFULLY HONEST with you the entire dynamic they have going on (subdued and neutral protag x wild card antag with a huge personality) is my least favorite in the world. It simply puts me to sleep bc i feel like every time they talk it’s kokichi saying some wild funny shit and shuichi just going “um o-ok” or *uncomfortable silence* instead of engaging with him in any entertaining or meaningful way. Shuichi is shown to be enamored with people that act like kokichi’s total opposite and kichi’s interest in him feels so unnatural and empty to me.. nor did he even have much of an interest in him, bro. And it’s handled so.. erratically. His “affection” lasts from chapter 4 - chapter 4 trial, disappears, and then you find his whiteboard calling shuichi tricky/untrustworthy?? It’s weird. and It’s not a result of spending time with shuichi and like, bonding with him as a person. It’s just that he’s the only semi-intelligent person left in the school. (Minus maki, Theres an ER trip waiting to happen.) Which would make kokichi a “sapiosexual” and I just can’t-
It’s VERY easy to say that the “Pathetic? Look at yourself, Kokichi. Kaito always has us by his side, see? But no one wants to be around you. You're alone, Kokichi. And you always will be." didn't show no "I love you kokichi and I will forever please stay with me." Type of thing. It was more of a "You are a monster from hell and I hate you because of it." Type of thing. And honestly? I fucking love it. IT LITERALLY STATES THAT SHUICHI IS AFRAID OF OUMA.
Now for Kokichi’s sexuality.... for those fujoshis out there who think short boys = gay, (not saying short males can’t be gay) I’m gonna have to tell you to shut the fresh quivering fuck up. Like.. you missed me with that bullshit. I can assume Kokichi is bisexual because it never confirmed he was gay now huh? 🙃 kodaka never stated it, and it’s freedom of expression for me to state he’s bisexual. Saying “he’s half gay still!!” Is bisexual erasure and once again, I’m gonna have to tell you to shut the absolute fuck up because you’ll make me want to take you rights away as soon as the words utter out of your mouth! 😁 btw, this was written by a bisexual girl herself so...... I guess I’m half lesbian now.
In a summary: don’t bring up s**ouma, don’t come to me if your a s**ouma account, support the ship in general, it’s a trigger. My kindness is only a mask because I swear I will literally rip you limb by limb if you say something uncalled for. I’m nice because I chose to be and I can easily just switch off. 😇
Now that I’ve got that all of my chest, does anyone wanna chat? ^^

TenMiko isn’t canon dumbass. Himiko’s feelings were out of regret on treating Tenko terribly. Not because she’s in with her. Not to mention Himiko’s canonical straight, she fantasizes herself being surrounded by men, blushes when Kokichi flirts with her and flirts with Shuichi. She shows no reaction when a girl compliments her. If you want Tenko to be happy, ship her with someone who she naturally develops a relationship, not forced herself. Don’t treat survivor’s guilt as romantic feelings.
Now it’s pretty rare that I get comments like this. I was honest to god a little confused when this arrived in my message box out of nowhere, but while I really would rather just ignore this, I cannot let this comment stand. At no point did I ever say that Himiko’s feelings were survivors guilt. At no point did I say the two of them were canonically in love. All I did was talk about what it would be like if they WERE romatically involved. However, this anon here seems to think shipping Tenmiko is completely impossible, and that you’re only allowed to ship a ship that is canon. Is that true? Far from it, obviously. About 95% of Danganronpa ships aren’t canon. About 95% of ships from any series aren’t canon. However, it seems you don’t understand my reasonings for enjoying a ship such as this one that really deserves to be enjoyed. So while I wouldn’t want to do this, you’ve forced my hand, so let me tell you
Why Tenmiko is a valid ship
To start off with, let’s get one thing out of the way. I can totally understand not shipping these two. Tenko’s strong feelings to Himiko are mostly one-sided, and she gets way too attached to the point where she’s a creep. Also, for a large chunk of the game, Himiko seems to like Angie a little more. However, Tenko’s obsessiveness is all just to make Himiko impressed, because she admires her and wants her to notice, and Himiko is VERY obviously upset when Tenko dies. Also, while some may say that Himiko hated Tenko, I don’t believe that for one second. I think Himiko really DID care for Tenko. I know it seems a little weird that she only realised how much happiness Tenko gave her AFTER she died, but personally, I get the feeling that Himiko always valued Tenko's company and simply didn't realise it. In fact, I've been through something similar in my life. I have a close friend, who initially tried to insert himself into my friend group on his own, and at the beginning, he annoyed us and most of us rejected him. I look back and realise that that person was about 80% of the happiness in my life by that point, and somehow he's still one of my best friends today. I can never forgive myself for treating him the way I did, and I'm pretty sure Himiko felt the same. What I'm saying is, on a spiritual level, I understand Himiko's complex emotions in this chapter, and I feel that she is redeemable, which I will stand by. This does not mean I’m translating it as a romantic attraction. Don’t you dare say I’m treating someone’s death as a romantic subplot, because that’s not the case. Also, Himiko’s canonically straight and Tenko...I think is Bi at least? But tell me this anon? Give me one good reason why I should give a fuck? Hajime Hinata seems to be canonically straight, particularly during Chiaki’s FTE’s, when she falls on him, he specifically states that his heart starts beating really loud. But is Hinanami the biggest ship involving Hajime? No! Komahina is! Shuichi and Kaede have a lot of romantic chemistry during the first few chapters. Are they a huge ship? No! Not as big as Oumasai! A ship and a character’s sexuality doesn’t have to come into play AT ALL when it comes to shipping. If you seriously think that, then you’re clearly new to how ships work. The very idea of shipping is that you take two (or more) characters, that can be of any gender, age, race, or even franchise (Nagito X Sans) as an example and pair them together romantically. THAT’S how ships work!
Also, I know they don’t outright say it, but the Anon who sent this to me specifically says that “Himiko blushes when Kokichi compliments her” or something, so in a way, are you trying to say that Oumeno is a more wholesome ship than Tenmiko? I’m sorry but...there’s literally only one way I can describe that. Complete and utter bullshit! To start off with, the only reason that happened is because they needed a bit of comedy, and Himiko is kind of the one comedic character that makes it this far. In general, and I’m not here to knock on Oumeno or anything, but Kokichi and Himiko’s relationship is probably the MOST toxic relationship Himiko has. There are only two big moments these two have together that could mean anything. One is the one I just mentioned, with that stupid “Maybe you like me?” joke in Chapter 5, and the other is how he tells her not to lie to herself and let her emotions out at the end of the Third Case. Generally though, Himiko dislikes Kokichi, like most of the other killing game participants do. Not only that, but in the very least, Tenko never bullied Himiko. There’s a point where Kokichi insults Himiko for having a flat chest, which is an insult I think that is SO dated, but this is not the setup for a healthy relationship. Tenmiko is genuinely a much more healthy relationship, even if it’s not romantic. On top of that, it is never ever confirmed if Kokichi actually said that. It was KAITO in the exisal at the time, so HE’S the one who said that. Whether it was part of Kokichi’s script or if he adlibbed it, since he states he had to adlib some parts, it is never known.
The big issue many people focus on is Tenko’s obsession with Himiko, but when it comes to knocking on this ship, that is literally all people focus on, because they don’t want to admit that is literally the only major thing that is anything close to wrong with it. I honestly think this is just biased. Himiko and Tenko actually have a pretty strong, solid and healthy relationship for the most part, and most people just don’t seem to understand that. In Kaede’s FTE’s with Tenko in the first chapter, she states her attraction towards Himiko is because she admires how she’s a showperson as well as how she has a thing for magical girls. Alongside that, she says that she loves small cute things, and that is exactly what Himiko is. Tenko does not obsess over Himiko, more than she obsesses over how small and cute she finds her. I guess you could say she’s a lolicon in a way, but let’s just...not talk about that. People say that Tenko’s obsession becomes borderline creepy and stalkerish, and while I understand that, I think I should remind everyone what “obsession” actually means. “An obsession” is to be in the state of being obsessed with someone or something. I could say this much that most people love the people in their family, and they have pretty happy and healthy relationships with them and spend a lot of time with them. This. THIS is an obsession. If you think obsessions to people are unhealthy, then that means your relationship with your whole family is unhealthy, in spite of how happy you are. Before anyone outright says that obsessions and love are different, I KNOW! Tenko isn’t a fucking yandere! People think obsessions to people are bad because of yandere tropes, but it can actually come in many different forms, and genuine care and affection is one of them, which is exactly what Tenko tries to show Himiko.
When Tenko and Himiko first met, I don’t doubt Himiko was scared and a bit weirded out by her, but Tenko was nice and encouraged her, and I think Himiko took it the wrong way. Himiko isn’t the type of person to avoid girls so much as she’s the type of person to avoid people in general. She was bullied in her old school, and I think the immense encouragement and support of Tenko would be a bit of new ground for her. As of such, she probably just thought Tenko was strange, because all of this were strange things to her. Himiko pushes Tenko away frustratingly because she thinks she’s simply trying to manipulate her, but the irony is that in the process of trying to avoid being manipulated by Tenko, she basically gets brainwashed by Angie. When ANGIE dies though, Himiko seems to realise what’s actually happened since then, and she realizes that because of all that happened, Tenko didn’t get any of the affection that she was genuinely trying to put on Himiko. When Tenko dies immediately after, Himiko is the first to lift the cage and calls out her name in panic, realizing that Tenko’s affection was not only genuine, but also returned, and she never ever got a chance to thank her for trying to make her a better person. And I genuinely believe that Himiko and Tenko make each other better people for sure!
As for any other reasons why I ship these two, I think their parallels are really interesting. To start off with, their general colorization is a frequently used parallels for duos. Himiko has a red skirt and red hair, as well as a red underside to her cape in her promo art, and Tenko’s outfit has a particularly outstanding blue theme to it. Another parallel, and I actually found this out while browsing, is that Hat’s and Headbands are parallels of each other, and each of them wear one (Himiko’s wizard hat and Tenko’s pinwheel headband) Lastly, there’s the contrast in personality, and this is the main reason why I ship these two. I love it when two people can have romantic attraction despite being almost opposite in nature, because their two personalities can collide, and it makes each of them better people. This is not only the case for Tenmiko, but also the case for Shuichi and Kaede, and also Kaito and Maki, AKA two ships that are basically canon (for the most part) so I really don’t see why Tenmiko’s lack on canonicity makes it a bad ship anymore, when it’s basically the same dynamic as these two. Tenko is quick, energetic and aggressive, while Himiko is slow, lazy and weak willed for a big part of the game, and I think these two counteract each other pretty well. It’s not the greatest group of parallels, but in this case, I think the opposites certainly do attract.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tenmiko is a healthy, strong, fun and valid ship, and there is nothing you can do to change my mind. I will be supportive of this ship for a very long time from now.

im asking this out of genuine curiosity, and not to be rude or anything- could you explain what there is to like about oumasai, to someone who really doesnt like it? i played the whole game, free times and bonus modes included, and i dont get it. most posts about reasons to ship it are aimed at people who already like the ship, so they just dont make sense to me. i hope this wasnt too rudely phrased, and thank you in advance for your time
Oh no don’t worry about it! You were completely respectful, and I’m really touched you’d come to me about this! ;; I think you don’t need to force yourself to ship something you don’t get, your feelings are very valid and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! But honestly it’s so awesome how you’re open to hearing reasons from their fans instead of painting them all in a bad light like what a lot of people in the dr fandom usually do.
I actually have a couple posts where I rant about Saiouma so to list everything this will take forever XD
I made a 100 reasons post which you can find here, it’s just me fangirling so you don’t have to read the full thing but the most important points are numbers 22 and 100.
22. In chapter 4 Kokichi referred to Shuichi with the phrase “Suki ni natta hito” “the person I fell in love with” while alone. and it’s not even a bonus scene or event, the line is 100% canon and the player will come across it no matter what.
100. Their relationship is very realistic, it is focused on how two characters try their best to understand each other, how even someone like Kokichi can come to trust in someone and want someone to trust in him, how he wants that someone to be able to understand him. Kokichi went from being interested in Shuichi to falling in love with him (literally referring to him as the person he fell in love with, using the same phrase that Maki says to Kaito later on), in a freaking killing game. he forced himself to cut their ties and died thinking the only person he cared about hated him. while Shuichi started off interested but wary of Kokichi, tried reaching out to him but failed due to Kokichi pushing him away, to getting mad from him for making Gonta a murderer and trash talking Kaito when he seemed in a really bad condition (after getting punched by Kokichi too) to hitting cold hard realization to what Kokichi has been trying to do the whole game after his death. and then appreciating his help, using the clues he left behind for him, clearing his name, calling him a friend, and grieving his death with the rest of his friends who died in the killing game. He then uses everything Kokichi gave to him and taught him, ends up understanding Kokichi and his lies, and uses the tactic he taught him where he said “sometimes you win a game by not playing it” to end danganronpa. then you’re left wondering how things could’ve been different if Shuichi didn’t already have so much on his back and tried harder to reach out to Kokichi. you start wondering what could’ve happened if Kokichi didn’t push him away, you start thinking about all these possibilities. and then salmon team comes along and wraps everything up with a ribbon. putting direct throwbacks to what happened in the killing game and the free time events, Kokichi BEING the one to reach out to Shuichi, asking him to stay by his side. Their relationship is like one huge arc that starts the moment they met to their graduation in salmon team, and it leaves you with the fact that after they graduate they will stay together and learn more about each other, just like both of them wanted but couldn’t do in the killing game. if this isn’t a beautiful realistic relationship, I don’t know what is. Honestly, everything about this ship is so very beautiful, and I will support it with my life.
About point number 22, a lot of people deny that Kokichi’s feelings even exist that’s why I ranted about it once in a post that you can find here!
I answered this ask about it being technically one sided in the main game, because the main story is just the worst outcome for their relationship in my opinion (due to Kokichi’s plan having Shuichi hate him after chapter 4, ouch) but Kokichi’s feelings are shown to be reciprocated in Salmon team.
Then there’s this ask where I just summarised all my favorite things about the ship XD
I’m not saying that everyone who supports the ship has a bunch of deep reasons, some might just ship it cause it’s cute, and some might just like the fanon pregame version of the ship only because it has a totally different dynamic. But this is just the case for me because not only have I been questioned my feelings for this ship multiple times, but I went from actively disliking it at first to having it as my otp! (Which led me to even questioning myself multiple times, why did I got from dislike to like?) As I played the game I just kept noticing things, it probably all started after Kokichi’s “I stole Saihara-chan’s heart so I don’t need to take his life anymore.” and then solidified after Kokichi saw a detective Shuichi chasing after him in the love hotel scene, and the “Man I fell in love with.” line in chapter 4, and then the entirety of Kokichi’s Salmon team route.
The main story had such a tragic outcome for their relationship, but in another reality where Kokichi didn’t have to make everyone hate him including Shuichi, where he didn’t have to die being hated by everyone, and where Shuichi didn’t have to discover his true intentions after Kokichi was dead and consider him a friend again after he was gone. They really could have the wholesomest relationship as friends or more! And many amazing well-written fanfictions I read really shows it ;;
They just complete each other, at least that’s just how I see it XD I love them so much to the point I’ve been shipping them for two years now and it’s still going strong, amazing writing like this really hooks me, they have so much potential that you can’t stop thinking about all the what if scenarios. To me I love their relationship even if it was just platonic, I just love seeing them interact.
Still I totally understand that not everyone will see their relationship the same way as I do! These two are just two characters that I’ve analysed to death and liked their dynamic. And I think it’s totally alright to ship them with other characters (Shuichi is so shippable istg), but when I see people attacking their fans and calling their ship one sided or unhealthy it seriously ruins my day considering all that has happened to me before, and how it’s blatantly not true. It’s not true to the point I ranted multiple times about it in those essays-
But yea this on top of all those essays pretty much summarises why I ended up shipping them, they have this dynamic where they can make each other develop as a person, and at the same understand each other’s problems and the anxiety of how they look like in other people’s eyes. They have so much angst and the same time so much fluff, and I think many people who are into the yin yang *together we balance each other* dynamic will really have fun shipping them! Hope this somehow showed what I saw in them!

Describing all my Drv3 Otps.
I'm so original.
(Long post warning)
Akamota (Kaede x Kaito) - So pure. So supportive. Soccer parents. Kaede and Kaito being Shuichi's adopted parents because his real ones kinda suck. Space boy and piano baka. I just think they're so adorable.
Oumeno (Kokichi x Himiko) - Shorties. Prankster befriends magician to make pranks more effective and falls in love. Their dynamic is so great. It's too cute. Cape buddies. Prankster liar meets lazy mage.
Saimaki (Shuichi and Maki) - This ship is so underrated. Grieving buddies. They're both so serious and smart. Power. Couple. Also, detective hunting an assassination organization anyone? I just think they make such a good couple. Night birds and perpetually exaughsted together. Stoic killer meets shy detective. Also, Shumai x Maki Roll/Harumaki.
Tenkgie (Tenko x Angie) - Dislike/love dynamic is my shit. They're just. So cute. I don't have much to say other than they're adorable. Fighter girl meets passionate artist.
Gontsum (Gonta and Tsumugi) - These two work so well despite the fact there is literally no reason I should ship them so much. Tsumugi would so dress him up as all the hunky guys from her favorite animes and Gonta would be so happy showing her bugs. It's so adorable. Obsessive cosplayer meets bug enthusiast.
Amagucci (Rantaro x Korekiyo) - Shady drug dealers in a relationship. I have nothing else to say.
Ryoma and Kirumi in a platonic parent-like relationship. They just oversee all the chaos and step in every once in a while.
Oops, I have too many tags.

Oumotaaaa, ta-
Send me a ship and I will tell you:
When I started shipping them: Honestly at first, me and @aroseandapen only talked about the ship in a platonic sense, but then one day we were like “what if they hate(tm) fucked” which turned into “Wait Kokichi can’t really “hate(tm) fuck people he only messes around with romantic partners” and it evolved into them being boyfriends. xD
My thoughts: I love this ship sm, it’s one of my otps tbh. It’s so messy and passionate and emotional and I’m down for rival ships always. Icb it took me a while before I started shipping it tbh, I normally go for the rival ships with power struggle dynamics
What makes me happy about them: Honestly they’re kind of a perfect match. Both are intelligent and energetic, leader types, and they both have a lot more in common than they’d like. Them learning how to be emotional with one another without shame is a super awesome idea hhhhhh
What makes me sad about them: The tragedy that was Chapter 5... god, neither of them deserved to die. They were just two people having a hard time put into a situation they couldn’t escape from. Anf like the title of that chapter suggests, they were on a journey together that they didn’t choose for themselves, yet they still did their best to make the most of it. Without Passion, nor Purpose, yet they were able to team up and so barely nearly defeat the mastermind and the killing game. It’s such a tragedy, these poor boys...
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don’t read a lot of fanfic that’s not among the things my immediate friends have written :’D Um, I really dislike it when people write Kaito to really hate Kokichi’s guts, and vise versa? Make Kaito a bigoted asshole? Make Kokichi a bigoted asshole? Idk.
Things I look for in fanfic: Messy, fluff, warm, maybe even a lil spicy........
My wishlist: For Kokichi and Kaito to live and kiss and be boyfriends
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Shuichi and Kaede. Oumasai and Momomatsu. But also: Saioumomatsu. They all date.
My happily ever after for them: VRAU where they can heal within each other’s company, learn to feel and grow, and just finding happiness in their lives together...... good.......

Oumasai for the ask meme thing

Kokichi Ouma x Shuichi Saihara

New Danganronpa V3
༶•┈┈⛧┈♛ ♛┈⛧┈┈•༶
I started shipping SaiOuma probably around the time I first played V3 when it first came out! It was the first ship I gravitated to, and ultimately ended up being one of the more important ones to me. Initially, because I tend to avoid activity in fandoms, I was completely unaware that it was one of the more popular ones. Not that I mind, I still like it regardless.
I like the idea that, at least to me, Kokichi had this intense infatuation with Shuichi. It may not necessarily have been romantic love, as it was a fairly short amount of time that they knew each other, but the fact that Ouma felt so comfortable with Shuichi and his presence made me smile. Plus, I liked the dynamic. Not so much that weird, yandere shit from the end of chapter three, but you know how it is.
That being sad, I am aware that canonically it is completely one-sided. I know Shuichi did not like Kokichi, and found him to be a threat (naturally due to how Kokichi portrayed himself to the other students). He viewed him as annoying, and dangerous I would assume. I know there’s a fairly large chance that Shuichi really disliked him, and that bums me out.
I don’t particularly enjoy top!Kokichi. I like him being the more submissive one, as him keeping up this whole persona and act around others would allow for him to be vulnerable in the one place where it counts to be so. I write a lot of smut fanfiction, so I kinda overthink this…
I don’t mind the idea of Kokichi getting with Rantaro as an alternative. It was also fairly clear that Ouma had attraction to him too in the especially short time that they knew each other.
Kokichi would be the little spoon. Although Shuichi is portrayed as timid, I often see it as Kokichi having seen potential in him. Similar to how he ends up being at the end of the game, I like to think Saihara has a bit of confidence and therefore takes an assertive role in some instances.
I just want them to get married and adopt a bunch of kids. Kokichi loves children as evidenced by DICE. He would love to have a ton, give them homes, and raise them alongside one of his favorite people in the world. I imagine they like to watch police dramas together, maybe go swimming, and occasionally have cookouts outside in the summertime.
I dunno, it’s a sweet ship and makes me very happy. :>
