CLOSED STARTER FOR: troy bolton & gabriella montez @notafairytale​

TROY had hoped to run into gabriella by now. she was the whole reason he was here, after all. she wasn’t answering his calls. he could barely get a text response. she just seemed to up and left california, leaving him in her dust. the whole situation reminded him of when she left early for stanford only four years earlier. however, this time around, he didn’t even have the wildcats as an excuse. it was just him... he could only hope that was enough.

the athlete hated to admit it, but he had to take a page out of ms. sharpay evans book. he did some online research and found out where gabriella was tutoring now. up to his old antics, here he was standing in a tree outside a high school. he was beginning to second think his decision. how was he going to explain why he was hanging around a high school, dressed up like a smuck? just as doubt filled him inside, he finally saw her. all his worries melted away. the mere sight of her was all it took.

“ still the last one out of the building? ” he called out to her from his branch. he knelt down as his smile beamed. “ bet you didn’t think i’d pull the same stunt twice, did ya? "

Pardon me while I live my Cinderella life😂🤣 . It was cleaning grout day or should I say continuation of cleaning day 2. It was one of those "quick" cleanup tasks that became a weekend job. TROY stared up at the balcony, the balcony that belonged to one gabriella montez. he tapped his phone against his leg; next to him was a tree he could easily to get up there. there was something about her that always had him climbing up a tree. could he easily walk in the front door and knock on her door? of course, but what was the fun of that. sinking his phone in his pocket, he made the climb with ease. he hopped onto her balcony, no problem. 

he suddenly became concerned that if he could just as easily climb up here. then someone else could too... waving that away, he pulled out his phone once more, dialing the only number he had memorized. “ hey... uh... it’s me. sorry, i know it’s late, but can we talk? ” he said. he could see movement within the apartment, almost able to hear her through the glass. he could hear the hesitation in her voice. “ i’m outside. ” he admitted. he could hear her open the door, making him laugh. “ i’m on your balcony. ” only seconds later, she revealed her beautiful face. even looking annoyed, maybe even upset, her face still brought a smile to his face. 

he only dropped the phone from his ear as she opened the door. “ you should probably have your landlord trim that tree. it’s, uh... it’s a little too easy to get up here, ” he said with a nervous laugh. as she stepped out, appraching him, he got lost in her presence. lost in the familar scene. he wanted to touch her again, but... he knew better not to. not after their apparent break-up. he looked away, breaking himself out of her spell. he reached into his pocket, pulling out a couple of sheets of music. “ i don’t know if you’ve seen keira yet... ” he turned back to her, though avoiding eye contact. “ but she gave me a copy of some of her songs. from east high. i, um... they don’t feel right without you. ” 

as if to prove his point, he looked down at the music and started singing whatever was on top. “ we’re soaring... flying... there’s not a star in heaven that we can’t reach, ” he finally made eye contact with her once again. now was the part where she would come in, but there was only silence. he stretched out his arm, music in hand, as if they both didn’t still remember the words. “ humor me? for old time’s sake? ”
